There is more at stake without proper preparation. When you take away portals, it incentivizes planning and preparation more and slows down progression naturally. It isn't for everyone, but I enjoy it.

i'm testing a server i'm gunna run that will remove grind from some things and replace it with more adventuring. ie no portals so i get where u coming from

it's pretty easy to find a cheater from my experience. But I haven't had much issue in the hundreds of hours I've spent on servers. There's been cheaters, but fairly few, and they are typically delt with quickly.
Aside from that, I don't understand the arrogance and trolling.. if you're not interested, why are you here?
