I have a few questions I would like to enquire that I didn't find or couldn't find on your webpage

1. Can you build anywhere or is there a land restriction or any rules that relates to this that needs considering?
2. Is there a building size limit restriction?
3. Wards and portals I presume are still permissible.

4. On your discord you said you have the option to bring your character across, I presume only the naked character and nothing else. I presume this character can go back and forth etc.?

1. You can build anywhere that isn't taken, or if it is taken but abandoned we can get that cleared for you.
2. To some extent but we have some truly epic builds on the server so whatever you have in mind is probably okay.
3. We have a rule that is essentially if you don't have permission to mess with it, leave it alone. You're encouraged to ward and protect your stuff, but griefing is not a problem on the server.
4. That is correct. Also all of this is described in much more detail in the server info channels so I suggest looking there for more depth.

Seeds are reset every few months. We're trying to time them around when the Valheim developers update their game, so players can get a fresh experience with the new content.

I would say we average around 4-5. I should also mention that progress is not lost once we progress to a new seed. We make old seeds available for download so you can keep your builds and the whole world to play offline.

Keeping character stats is always allowed, even when a new seed starts. The rule is you must come into the server with no items. All this info and more is available in our server's info channels and you can ask questions in the #whitelist-chat also.

It is against the rules of this server to continuously chat in these channels because it bumps the thread over and over, so please ask further questions in our server if you have them!

You can play with a vanilla client! No mods are required to connect and play.

We allow players to use light mods that we approve on the basis they do not affect core gameplay or give an unfair advantage. This is optional.

sadly no, there's a completely different server backend requirement called "playfab" which supports xbox players

we have to write a bridge program to trick playfab into working with our system to make it work

There is no cheating and no it is not creative. It is vanilla, the mods we allowed are only ones we deem do not affect the core gameplay experience, or give a unfair advantage.

There is an anticheat that runs on the server and counts collected resources to detect anomalies

What is the difference between Comfy and vanilla? I read through the new players guild an reviewed the mod list. It appears vanilla items, but I see some other stuff in Google docs. Its a tad confusing.

This is my all time favorite server, even though I have a close second and have played on many more fun servers (valheim just attracts nice players). This server offers many things to do even if you are done with the actual game. There are guilds such as the builders, explorer, merchanting guild and like 5 more. Theres also lots of creative builders on there. So many talented builders that theres even a chosen few that get to create "events" for others to enjoy.

These are full on quests that you get to enjoy (probably like 40 of them), and the best part is that you get rewards for completing them that include unique and over leveled items (such as a lvl 13 cultivator that has 1500 durability (if thats your thing), if not there are weapons, armor, and many other items that are brought to the world but clearly thought out to bring balance to the world. The best part is that you dont even have to participate in any of these quests

They also have a guild called slayers which have quests and get points for helping players who need help or dont know the game yet. This guild helped me so many times when I lost my boat and honestly would ahve quit on another server. But I asked for help on the slayer guild channel and someone gladly came and helped me get out of the pickle I was in.

Just like the quests, they have like over 100 quality of life mods that you can choose to install that make your life easier but you can easily play without. I personally have over 42 but I could see myself playing on a server without them. Well except the planting one. Planting 9 crops in a perfectly laid out grid is probably one of the reasons I couldn't go back to Vanilla valheim.

They also have these things called Space Islands where you can transport 3 greydwarf spawners that you found in the wild + tamed animals (boars, wolves, loxes, and asksvins) to setup automatic farms for them. If you dont know what these are. Looks them up on youtube. Most servers dont allow these but comfy encourages them because they understand that placing these on a space island (a spot far away from the main world (the black space on your map) creates less lag for others and makes for a smoother player experience.

Overall my experience with comfy has been great. They allow you to play at your own pace, style, and whatever else that may include. As long as you arent breaking the rules. Which honestly arent many. They even encourage public builds which can really bring the community together.

Its what you make it. You can play vanilla (playing the game without mods like the game creators intended) or choose to play with mods and join guilds. Its all up to you and honestly I would start without mods or guilds because it makes things way more confusing. Also I feel that it makes you appreciate the mods more if you know the difference between playing the game vanilla and with quality of life mods

Also they have a thing called the "Best Western" quest line which really helps progress new players through out the game (Best Western includes a hotel that you can book a room for 2 weeks to stay at while you learn the game. 300+ hours in the game, here's the truth about "Comfy Valheim." There's a reason they need to "bump" and advertise consistently. Definitely not as popular as they claim, as there's maybe 2-3 people in VC at a time. There's an EXTENSIVE interviewing process- you may as well just hand out your IP to em'. Definitely not for the Casual players, maybe a Role player's haven. There's plenty of wonderful, WELCOMING, servers out there. Stay clear of this one, vikings! 🙂

Guilds are created by players performing a staff role. They create content, progression, and many types of engaging things for players to do that stays within their “flavor”.

We currently have 3 types of guilds:
Combat, which rewards the highest possible overleveled weapons
Social, which has similar styles rewards but is more focused on activities engaging other players
Hybrid, which is a mixture of both

You can join any and all guilds by completing tasks and submitting them in the appropriate channel; there is no limit on the number of guilds you can join.

The start of every era (world reset) gives players who achieve the max rank of guilds with a very slight equipment advantage to get you out of the meadows and Black Forest (we often have 150+ people playing at the same time during launch).

As mentioned, the whitelisting process exists and is packed with information. Check it out and you’ll see what we’re talking about! 🙂

If you don't play with mods on this server (they have protection but it uses a mod) expect to get griefed a lot (first hand experience). You will be compensated as most of the staff is nice. Also although they have respawn of materials because the server is very crowded a lot of material is hard to get. And if you join half way an era it is the worst as so many spots have been taken. Progression is helped a lot by the events and rewards. But do not expect you can play normal Valheim on this server. This server is best joined at beginning of an era and then if you can spend many hours to not get behind other players and have decent chance of getting decent spots.

Sorry you had that experience. I can only assume the server has gotten better in the 3 years since it looks like played much.

The staff, as u mentioned, is great with replacing anything that could have been stolen or got lost in a cpu/server crash.

I am NOT a moderator or anything, but I am quite sure any thieves (Odin knows what you did) are dealt with accordingly.

While I agree it can seem overwhelming to join mid-era, I like to put a twist on that and think it's a good time to join, because a new player can get an understanding of how all the moving pieces work, and apply all of that when a new era begins. As helpful as everyone is, folks are more inclined to stop and help newer players when the era slows down a bit. The first few weeks is fairly insane and people are securing their first homes, questing, etc

If the thieves are smart they are never dealt with. They try, but the game only marks an item as crafted if it is a marked craftable item in the game but it gets overwritten on upgrade. And non marked items like resources are not traceable. Even if they made those traceable just build and destroy hammer buildable items and you have new instances of those items. About the staff, i said most are fine but there where some serious toxic moderators/admins as well (do not know if they are still around) but i did butt my head into the same people GHO5T has made video's about. They try (and succeeded) to sweep it all under the rug. They also claim to have 8000 players all time. But about 500 returning players, so many do not return either out of free will (not enjoying the major changes to the game, because normal gameplay is hardly possible with so many players on a map of limited size) or because they banned an incredible amount of players over the years (hard to get numbers but if you ask around it's not hard to find banned players). If you like what they offer and 100% fit into their community i guess it's fine. But if you expect Valheim gameplay you will be disappointed.

And this is why we harp a lot on using the Moderator ticket system; especially if you see a build that looks abandoned! 🙂

Edit: Regarding vanilla Valheim experience- absolutely correct. If you value discovering new recipes and playing 100% at your own pace (sense of discovery), Comfy may not be the best first Valheim experience for players, but after that? Definitely.

I can't speak to anything technical, but I can say as a previous staff member, folks do break their butts keeping the server up and smoothly running. (Gaurentee everything negative you experience is at least better than it was however long back you played.)

As you have said, and Miado and I agree, Comfy is VERY different than a small vanilla feel, and likely isn't the best for someone looking to progress traditionally.

Really not sure what happened and all this smart thieves stuff. I don't imagine you are privy to moderator/staff tools to be so sure how things work on the server.

Ghost is a crybaby and turned off his comments for his videos on the matter because people were calling him out for blatantly false information, and slander. Even so, yes, some staff in the days I used to play on Comfy were toxic as shit, but (at least in my experience) they were subsequently removed, or left of their own will. I mainly left the server because the players themselves (the ones I had the misfortune of running into) were also toxic as shit and loved to start drama. I wasn't very mentally sound back then, so it put me under a lot of unneeded stress. I don't know what the server is like today, but I do have some good memories there. There is good in Comfy, if you can find the right people to hang around.

Granted my experience is a while back, i sure hope things changed for the better. Don't know all the tools moderators got back when i played but they admitted not being able to find the thieves so it's their own words. And yes i like the normal progression a lot better as i am a open world survival pve player in all games i play. The whole event thing is fun as a one time a year thing to celebrate something in a game maybe for me but not on weekly base. And yes i found that, as there are enough players that like the base game and i have the means to host anything i want because i am one of those nutcases that has servers just because i can. So if i meet players who want to play i can provide a dedicated game server if they can't. Never aiming for a huge crowd just a few people that become friends and have fun in a game together.

Can't say if Gho5t every word was true or not, just found his thing online after my own bad experience. And you are right some of the players back when i played where very toxic specially to new players. Like they made sure that you knew they where long time players and residents where more important then new players. They where not all like that but there where more then was healthy that had that attitude and where not afraid to say to you when nobody else was in the same voice chat. So even if Gho5t's exact words are not all true the base element in his story was. Also if a horde of people is going to stalk you because of what you post i can't blame him for turning the comments off. Internet is sometimes a cruel place.

I do notice you just joined the valheim discord. If you just bought the game on sale, consider getting into it a bit before playing on any large server.

Two reasons:

1. Comfy, while vanilla friendly, doesn't play out much like a solo/small group playthrough would. There's a bit of a learning curve to our discord, for any meaningful progression. Would be better to understand the game itself first

2. Even more importantly, the magic of discovery in this genre of games is something I love dearly. In my opinion, jumping into Comfy today would ruin a lot of makes finding new things so exciting

I’m not privy to any of that information, but if you’ve been IP banned, (I am speculating with no knowledge here) it seems like there may have been multiple intentionally malicious events on your end.

Not sure why one of, if not the largest valheim servers ever needs a population influx. How would you come to that conclusion, considering your ban?

That aside, why would any server want an invasion of folks who have proven themselves, in most cases repeatedly, to be cheaters, griefers, (edit: how could I forget trolls???) racists or folks who just can't play nice with others? Just find your suggestion odd, to put it politely

As mentioned above, I would be glad to see what can be done considering your IP ban. I have no power nor influence over decisions such as these but am an active and present player in the community who wants to see the community grow, assuming the people that choose to play on Comfy can follow basic rules and adjust to constructive feedback when presented. There's no need to be vitriolic in a public community discord.

Hi, at this time Comfy does not support cross-platform. The current limit is 30 players AFAIK and we routinely exceed that number. Be sure to check back from time to time as there may be a way to get around this!

So, if your profile or game details are private, cybermancy can’t complete the whitelist process. That’s why server admins request you make it public, just during the whitelist process, then you can make it private again.

Additionally, Comfy has a few fantastic Quality of Life settings that the SteamID is needed for.

During the end of an era (literally right now!) players can participate in events which turn into small starter “kits” at the start of the next era.

Instead of having 150+ people all log into spawn, users are teleported on their first log-in (based on SteamID) to a mega-low instance room with these rewards and then filtering people through another place.

As Bliz mentioned, it’s Steam only currently. At the moment, the Xbox client does not support more than 32 total connections- which we often surpass 50-70 concurrent connections for well over a month after every era launch.

While not required, Comfy has a ton of quality of life mods to make multiplayer life a bit easier. These are hosted on Thunderstore if internally developed 👍🏽

Once you complete that, you can join the server- otherwise you’ll receive a message saying banned. It’s a basic vetting process and information dump, cause there’s a ton of content on Comfy. A lot of it is built into Discord with automated bots and things
