I am thinking of letting the fermenter explode and adding barrels with rigidbody, so you can ignite them, roll them down a hill and wait until it explodes. And I yes, I am thinking of a small crater π

the hare scale texture with gloss looks nice
Added some christian elements like the monk, blessings, a quest for the Ten Commandments and more. I chose this theme as I did see the chance to find free assets to use.

at least I plan to give the monks more capabilities. I would like to have some maidens like nuns too, but failed to find usable assets until now. hoping that with release of version 1.0 the monks (and probably nuns) are doing all the work so the vikings can lean back and relax

Make sure that's pulling from Thunderstore API etc and isn't redistribution by other un-official means.

we need serpant chainmail and hood/helmet now
I lack knowledge and skill for that, but i did get a great normal map for chainscale by accident
trying to adjust color and metalic level
if you shrunk this style down it would be awsome scale mail
I don't know how to do all the mapping on armor, haven't tried yet.
Reduced pixelation because it seemed to much, shield scales looks way smoother than what i did before
they look really good regardless i got the same scales on my assassins gauntlet arm tattoo as those exact scales are the mail on my arm im a huge fan of them wish they were used more in the game for certain things like an armor or stuff
Not sure if i should work with contrast, hue or just metallic level, but metallic seems fine i think

This mod adds progression-based biome restrictions. See it in action as I test movement into a restricted biome. It stops the player moving forward but lets you retreat if you get too close

Many people use HD texture packs so I see no issue there, after all it IS a mod, and everyone use mods to tailor the game to their needs.

so here's the idea as i see it right now- in the mountains biome Moder will have a 50% chance to drop the 1st tier Dark Gift which gives you the initiation into "The Blood" decreasing your stamina cost for most things and enhancing your normal abilities slightly- mainly your healing factor- then from there Yagluth will drop the 2nd tier Dark Gif...

All monsters have good or evil souls that will either help or try to kill you. All magic staffs and wands feature secondary AOE spells! Become a true mage or healer with RtDMagic. All biomes have light armors for all classes. You can fulfill your desires of any role here. Death comes with a cost but if you can stay alive you are heavily rewarded.

Remove your old mods that haven't been updated
MissingMethodExceptions and MissingFieldExceptions are always caused by a mod not built for your game version.
I think it was Valheim Legends unfortunately... Really wanted the class system.

Added tons of new features to CarryMeMaster!
You can spawn effects with Left, Middle, Right mouse button and it supports all vanilla prefabs.
It also supports multiple prefabs in a row so you can trigger several at the same time, sfx + vfx etc.

A work in progress, just wanted to share what I have so far.
I will say I wish the game had more rotation options as this is gorgeous I find my self adding this mod as it really does open up a ton. Big example is in your arched bridge made of the marble
I guess most players would find the extra rotation options tedious in an already robust building system. I personally couldn't play the game without it now.
you might get a better response in #mods-issues as this channel is more about showcasing mods. make sure you have your bepinex log file ready. It could be many things from custom RPC callbacks, server not responding, long loading periods (this can happen if you have tons of mods installed with large configs)

@viral lion Yes, a couple mods add ladders, I think this specific one is from Odin kingdoms BuildPieces and it is functional, as in, it teleports you at the top.
I should also add that I used perfect placement to give it its slant and angle.
My BuildPieces add ladders from 1 to six meters.

Haha I'm looking into boat mods but I can't find a single way to compare them. The BoatAdditions mod looks and feels GREAT!
But I cannot find a single way to get it's speed. It has a config files with...things. But there is no m/s to compare to the vanilla boats. They have sail force and other things without describing what any of these things are.
I just want to have some modded boats and be able to slot them into a table such as that so I can understand when I would want which boat.
At the moment from my testing the choice of boat is based on materials and vibes.
They have a raft level boat "canoe" locked away behind a bronze level crafting table for example.
sail force is the multiplier to the base speed when using half and full mast higher that is faster the boats go i think but yeah i dont have exact numbers lol bro im about to update my boat mod, you should try it!!!!! XD ive got only 3 boats right now but will have more before valheim alpha release for sure!

feeling this close to just using vanilla boats only.
All of the modded boats i have tried felt great, and seemed a little too fast (Shawesome-Shawesomes_Awesome_Boats) , but the first time i saw one from shore i realised they were ludicrously fast. Some more than others.
Right now I useshudnal-LongshipUpgradeswhich is a reasonable way to get an upgradeable, better longship. Without the qualities of either high cost and complexity (blacks7ar-BoatAdditions) and/or comically excessive ability (Shawesome-Shawesomes_Awesome_Boats)
Plus if you remove the shudnal-LongshipUpgrades mod you still have a vanilla longship in it's place.

i'm sure if you added 'backpacks' to the auto-tracked things that a number of smoothbrain-backpacks users would appreciate it (they dont emit a particle, and can very easily be lost or accidentally left behind)
Would prob make more sense to make the backpacks emit particles than to have them globally visible on the map to all players. Map would get really messy really fast with arbitrary things auto tracking. Also, there is value in things being discarded and lost at sea or intentionally hidden behind a tree or in a building. Sticking a GPS tracker on every playerβs backpacks seems like the wrong way to go. I suggest talking to the backpack author about adding particle FX.

What are your PC specs? Game seems to run pretty smooth with a lot of instances in the town
Ryzen 7 7800x3d CPU and 4080super GPU... 32 gigs of ddr5 ram... Instance counts are high when you check with F2, but instances per zone are spread out juuuuust enough that I run at decent fps... Even my friend playing on a steam deck gets around 25fps in town which I thought was amazing for a "smart toaster" as i like to call it
Instance count is fake and doesn't mean much anyway.

Because it is a number that represents how many things are loaded in the scene, it's not a performance value like FPS.
You can have a million instances and not have any fps drops, but then add one piece that effects fps and have poor performance/fps.
I think people relate instance count to performance because they start to notice poor performance after their instance count is way up there, but really it's their FPS that has dropped due to the type of pieces added, like lighting and stuff.
Is it still things that generate smoke and light/shadows that cause the biggest fps hit?
yes, lighting/fire is a pretty big one, especially sources that need to generate more of the color spectrum where a tinted light only needs generate shades of that color. There is also smoke with fire sources that are generating particle effects that use collision, and audio loops playing of fire sounds calculating the distance of the player for volume. Aoe scripts looking for collision to apply burning.
As cookie listed earlier, there are many things that might effect someone's fps, water, creatures, pieces, vegetation, but these are also the elements that make up the game and give it it's beauty.
Really it's nothing to exactly worry about, but things to consider when building or where you build.

I know nobody asked, but seeing the gems reminded me, we did find a way to shrink the gem deposits to just the right size so they blend in with the surroundings more naturally and also make it more fun to find them. Way better experience than with default.

not at all, it's opening the container right next to the station. Nothing magical about being in arm's length. Also it's using the existing UI of having a single container open at a time. It's not access to things in containers 50 feet away teleporting into their hands. The player still needs to put the mats for the items they want to craft into either their own hands or into the container right next to the station they want to work at.
Itβs still teleporting the mats from the container to their hands. Itβs magically growing a third arm to take from the chest.
I just donβt think itβs any different. Open container or not. Nearby or not.

i don't know about you but when i am using a workbench in real life i find that i am able to reach into a container next to me without magic and without the need for 3rd arm. I simply take my left hand off the table and reach into the container and put the item onto the table without turning my body or stopping what i am doing with my right arm.
The goal is to follow the design ideas from vanilla and make every item's location and access intentional and explicit, but to improve the UX. There is no mystery about where resources are being stored or where they are being consumed from. This mod achieves that goal. All resource usage is explicit and the player knows exactly where it is being consumed from or stored to, never implied. Not automated. It's simply linking the closest container (within a very short range) to the workbench as if the workbench itself had a Container component, but it does not modify the workbench to turn it into a container because that can lead to data loss and nullifies the distinction between workbenches and containers. Combined with ZenRedecorate the closest container can be repositioned or swapped for other containers if desired.
While valid, it's more that it mostly contradicts what ZenDragon constantly preaches about loving the grind of organizing, moving chests, and not having any automation. To me, the code is still doing what it's doing "via magical automation" just on a smaller scale. The next update will probably be him allowing cycling through multiple chests nearby and because they are semi-close it makes it somehow "better". AzuCraftyBoxes can accomplish this already, just shorten the ranges. Sure, it doesn't open the chest UI, but that's mostly just visual aid anyways.
All in all, I'm just stating it's weird and contradictory. I would have at least expected the manual hotkey press (or UI button press!) needed to open the chest so that you can manually put it into the player inventory. Even in the description of this new feature it states "Automatically open the closest container" which screams automation and contradicts the statements from Zen prior.
This is not to start a fight or anything, it's mostly questioning the thinking as it seems to not fall in line with what I would have expected based on Zen.
i think you misunderstand my pov. There is nothing contradictory about opening the container next to the station. It is vastly different than teleporting items from 50m away. And yes, craftyboxes can do this with hyper short ranges. It's explicit and clear intention of what content is being consumed and from where. Without that "visual aid" there is no user feedback as to where the materials are coming from and which chest and what the content of that chest is. If you have 3 right next to the station which one is it drawing from? How much is left in the chest? What else is in it ? Can i put my extra stuff into the chest? is it the correct chest to put my stuff in?
AzuCraftyBoxes is great if the player desires omiting those logistical choices, and many many players do prefer that style. So there is nothing wrong with it. But ZenConstruction gives an option to preserve the more traditional and vanilla aspects of the game and keeps the logistics intact while streamlining the UX.
There is nothing contradictory in my design. I am not sure why you take things to the extreme. I never said that the UX couldn't be improved, all I have ever said is that the UX should not be improved at the expense of shortening the game loop by omitting travel distance or logistics. In this case there is no loss of travel distance or logistics. Container content is right next to the station. Container capacity is still vanilla. Physical space is preserved, there is no compounding of objects together. Logistics are preserved, you still have to haul stuff to the station you want to work at.
if anything, the one mod that i feel is pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable and violating my prior statements is ZenDistributor, not ZenConstruction. Because it makes unloading the cart a bit "magical" but it is limited to a single piece in short range and it encourages better use of the cart. So, I'm gray on that one. I couldn't think of a better solution. I may revisit that one one day if i can come up with a better solution.
The contradictory part is the automated (automatically in your words) opening of said container simply by using the workbench. Which by definition is contradictory to hating automation.

- The chests next to the station...of which they loaded with resources. I feel that's not hard to remember, but it's mostly visual since the crafting station will tell them if they have it in their inventory or in that container by showing them if they can crafting something. Visual aid mostly that isn't needed per-se.
- I agree that it helps see how much you have left, not stating the visual aid is bad
- "is it the correct chest to put my stuff in" why does this matter if you have to stop interacting with the bench to do it (or can already see inventory?)
- I really should use more buzzwords in my mods like corporate America and yours do. Love the "streamlining" and such you always say (genuinely, not sarcasm)

Just saying that the mod changes you'd likely make would be to expand, streamline, and preserve the more traditional and vanilla aspects by allowing cycling containers after this one. sure, all reasonable. I hear ya and welcome the feedback π your mods are fantastic. Wasn't ever trying to imply otherwise. I just wanted to do things differently for how i like to play because i like the slower pace of vanilla but felt that some of the UX was incomplete. Then i just made my mods available for others to use because maybe others like that too or never considered the value of the vanilla gameplay style. I do my best for compatability with other mods. If someone wanted they could use ZenConstruction with AzuCraftyBoxes, they should work together without issue. Just not my preference of gameplay style for what i think is fun.
As to your comment about opening multiple chests. Yes, i have explored it. It's on my list. It could be very helpful to open 2 chests at once so you can easily move content between them. The main issue is how to select the "other" chest in such a way that is intuitive and natural and works with gamepad too? That's what i'm still trying to figure out.
I really will drop it after this, but the first paragraph of that is mostly not needed. Though it makes nice comments and explains your mods overall, it's not really relevant. People are welcome to use your mods, at no point in this did either of us trash the other's work. Almost all of my mods were made either by request or my own wants and needs. Your mods are nice, people are using them. There is a want for your mods and clearly a space it fills.
Second part: I figured that would be the next logical step. I still vastly think that that automatic opening of the chest is by definition, automated, since the mod is doing it, not the player's direct interaction/influence. That's where my contradictory argument came along. Not anything to do with your UI display of the chest, seeing how much is in it, where, etc.
sure, i hear ya. opening a container "Automatically" is a valid point. Yes, opening the station automatically opens the nearby chest too. I get your point. Yes, it's doing that. I like to think of it like the player came to the workstation and opened the container and sat down to work in one smooth motion.
and from a UX standpoint you cant really have the player open a container and then a workstation or the other way around without completely redoing the current inventory UX

I'm not saying anything about adding a gamepad button or even changing them at all. Add a button to the UI that they can use the bumpers to navigate to. Select/click same way as normal buttons. Similar to how AAA Crafting does it for the input field. Just because I don't use controller often doesn't mean I don't know how they work and what is a quality of life improvement. The timer to send messages is slowly making this more annoying. I'm going to play my game now π
ahh gotcha, i thought you meant just a keybind or button bind. You meant a visual button. Sure, that could be possible. But i don't think the amount of effort required to do it warrants the utility. Having the container open automatically when you access the workstation is an easy to understand workflow that i think most people will understand intuitivly.

All of these mods seem unaffected in the beta, save for 1 thing I noticed, the console spams some kind of error when around the dwarf towers. My shot in the dark guess would be 'buy extractor needle' (Which works, but maybe side effects?) or something in extended.
(The ones without checkmarks are like... dependency files and librarries.)

Nothing I used for mods would have affected the building. I used a terrain mod to help flatten the land and I use build camera to build as well as gizmo to rotate pieces though I dont think I used that in this build at all.. But everything there is vanilla pieces. People are just very stuck up about screenshots with any hint of a mod being put in this channel, even though the build itself has nothing to do with mods.

I guess yes, look at stone_floor on last pic. I think building loses a lot of its potential without Gizmo and Infinity Hammer.
Yup, gizmo + infinity hammer. I created 1 arch out of 2x2x2 marble blocks using Gizmo and set the rotation value to 32pts (base game is 8). I then placed a pole in the top-center of the arch to act as a snap-point, copied the arch with infinity hammer's multi-select tool, and rotated/pasted that arch on the top-center snap-point 32 times until it made a full dome.
Day 535, we finally sail south and follow the roads leading to the Elder. Had to defeat him three times. Quite the battles!
What is that tent? Some kind of easy base setup you can use when far away?
Yeah, a mod called "OdinCampsite". It does not really fit into the aesthetic but our server world is much larger than normal and we do not have portals. We also have seasons, so in winter you will freeze to death during snowstorms or at night, so wanted to give players a way to easily setup when exploring.
it looks good, and seems like a good option for exploration.

Turned the first picture into the 2nd. 19 out of 23 currently occupied boulders are vanilla formation. Started having to use heightmap unlimited set to 16 instead of 8 meters when I was expanding under the rocks in the mountains. Planning to go full circle like you see at picture 3. End result will be over 50 boulders of which 'only' 8 are manually placed. I wonder if theres any other formations like this around. Currently consists of: 8 bedrooms 5 kitchens 4 living rooms 2 storage rooms 3 crafting areas a war room a treasure room and 2 greenhouses.

last world got reset π’ 1 day progress, just using devcommands for flying and building
A quick proof of concept.
The idea is from the game Outwards where you need to put your backpack down to use it.
In this state you cannot move, jump or close main inventory but need to press a special key.
DUDE this is sick! adds extra inventory AND you need to be aware of your surroundings to use it! adds to immersion and makes so much freakin sense!

Should be stated the reason I took these pics at night for the darker lighting is cause it's built on top of the tallest mountain I could find and the daytime lighting and snowy fog that always rolls in would have just ruined the vibe of the pics otherwise.

Best thing about the circular layout is that youre never looking at the complete base at the same time(except from the sky) . FPS still doing fine(30-45) because of that!

it was a very quick mod I made and have not updated in a while with new mechanism and attack animations and what not, I will be adding cool giant bat transformations and a small bat option I want to add drinking blood animation and sun damage is deff gonna be added and I would love to add werewolf transformations but need to get the mechanic for Dracula boss altar spawning in deep north as well a lot of things to work on!(edible bloodsucking and other blood consumables) lol soon SOOOOON I love azumatts mod concept for his werewolf with the whole virus thing soooo sick

Appreciate it. I'm full of ideas. Probably the reason why I have so many mods. Also part of the reason I'm downsizing and getting rid of older/less downloaded mods. Many people are eager to make similar ones and I'm to the point where I want to make higher quality unique ideas. I'm sitting on a ton of unreleased mods that I might just pass over to someone.
Portal Preview is a good one to finish out. The only issue with it was in single player there was a little too much lag around 3-4 portals at the same time. Dedicated server it worked pretty flawlessly (last I checked)

You need to zoom in when you scope!
Lol I locked it to 20fov by default when you ads last night after this video so you can't zoom back behind the character. but it does have variable zoom and keybinds for crosshair adjustments. (Fov changes your crosshair accuracy)
Gonna be a pretty invasive mod, I have so many patches controlling this thing lmfao

This is how it should look normally now. Where you can't see the player when you scope in... Locked max fov to 20 when you ads... I just got lazy with that video and it was at like 70fov so behind the character... Originally I hadn't thought about forcing max fov when aiming lol I barely know what I'm doing... But I'm doing it pretty okay

I guess 'art imitates...mods?' lol. I just came the the realization that I probably subconsciously copied that mod's promo image when building the UFO. The author uploaded that mod to nexus a few days before I uploaded my world save, and they appear next to each other in the New/recent mods list so i definitely seen that in passing before. Or maybe that's just what the Aliens want me to think π½
It's amazing for the "re chamber" but for the "magazine reload" it could be better.... What I'm really scratching my head about right now is why no matter what orientation you attach a weapon to the ice staff it's always held sideways... Attach it... Save... Load game .. shits held all gangsta... Ok rotate it 90Β° to left .... Save... Build.... Log in.... STILL EFFIN SIDEWAYS π gotta figure that out and how to increase cycle rate on the ice staff projectiles so I can get the m4 rockin
Are you changing the model or the actual attach the player uses to hold things?
I always put the custom weapon on a player model in Unity Editor to know how it will look like in game.
To increase cycle rate on the ice staff projectile you edit the attack prefabs own settings.
Both good things to know... I gave up and used crossbow and turned off reload and turned on looping attack... Now I just need to increase the fire rate of that.. same method I imagine?

Unless you lower res to 256x256, make it update each 5 frames instead of each and restrict rendering to basically Infront.
Although ... it could be cool to have a mirror with very low resolution so it becomes blurry because then it could be a reflection.

That will make it actually feasible to use as a piece in a gameplay world!

Yeah it would probs be better added to something else as an asset, and i think a smaller mirror (1x2, 2x1, or even 1x1) would feel perfect! But please dont feel obligated to make it, especially if it's a major pain in the ass lolol; my builds are so instance-dense that I'm already scraping the floor for FPS crumbs. Honestly, I'm more curious as to how you go about making this stuff (and with such quick turn-around), like where do you even start getting into modding for Valheim/games made in Unity?!?!?

Well it took me all weekend to re write the logic because I originally designed it on single player and didn't realize most of it wasn't gonna work on a dedicated server.. BUT
Getting there... Planned to polish it up a bit this weekend but got derailed obviously...
Ended up with a weird delayed teleport logic trying to force the zone to load before teleporting and ended up with a "wait till zone loads before teleporting" instead... Which is interesting... Might keep that for something else.. change the message to say something like "move closer to your object" or something .. still have to figure out the teleport from outside of loaded zones tho
So friggin cool though!

I built Hogwarts in Valheim from scratch and spent about 90 hours.
The entire built process is one big improvisation without any prior drawings or plans.
The castle consists of approximately 70,000 instances. The interior was not planned, as the FPS is already flying into space)

Getting there.... Starting to realize I could make an entire mini game out of it and I don't know if I should be excited by that realization or intimidated...
But I've realized well if I can remove their inventory and restore it on Match end I can also reward them based off match performance etc... upgrade weapons and all that stuff...

You're so good at building they could be standalone pieces.
If you're ever interested in turning your builds into eternal pieces where you bring them into Unity, make them pieces and then into a mod let me know.
All the meshes would be merged into one so there wouldn't be thousands of pieces etc.

Remade my LockMeUp mod, now you can put a password on any interactables, I really mean any!
Here's a few example but this covers all things you interact with :).
Not only that but it now has a Decay system like many online Survival games like ARK!
If a player builds a lot and then stop playing, after 7 days of no play, his pieces will lose the protection.
After 7 days a new timer starts and if the player still doesn't login then the pieces will start taking damage unless reclaimed.
I discovered tiny island that is interesting mix of meadow and black forest! I will build mini settlement there (edit: then thunderstorm got there, seriously)

Decided to finally remake the flying system for my Mounts that don't have a Wild variant (Raven, Dragon).
