Im trying to use MO2 for the game but when I put BepInExPack in it tells me that the content doesnt look valid. What do I need to do to make it valid?
Hit windows key + r type in cmd.exe then enter the command wmic baseboard get product,manufacturer. This will print your motherboard make and model. From there, go to their support website and see what new drivers or bios updates you have if any. Do those.

Appreciate you dropping in to help, updating my BIOS software is actually one of the few solutions I haven't tried yet. I wanted to try some of the lower-hanging solutions before I start messing with it but that's the next thing I plan to try. Thanks Advize.

The same as what I and many others have experienced. A search of this will reveal many people with the problem and not a lot of guaranteed fixes.
Another potential culprit is the windows pagefile. You can disable it, restart PC, then enable it again with it set to auto-size to purge anything it had cached
Another thing is to disable any game overlays. Discord, steam, windows game bar, nvidia shadowplay/GeForce experience or whatever it's called nowadays
I was just playing on server. made a new profile to update mods and now i get "Unable to locate valheim dedicated server installation directory
does valheim+ work with ashlands
I'm not sure where exactly it would be since I'm on Linux and I'm assuming you're on windows but deleting Valheim doesn't get rid of all the files. There is a separate folder for the saves and all that.
Can you link me to the reddit post? I'll try to see what ideas I can come up with.
Also personally I wouldn't mess with the bios. If it worked before it should work again.
I have never used revo uninstaller for a steam game but I'm wondering if it could be helpful in this case. Make sure to use advanced.

Some people have mentioned that some software conflicts with Unity

OK, well the general environment is very dark. Think inside of a black forest Burial Chamber, but the whole biome all night and about 20% of the "day". The general daylight is about the same as late dusk in any other biome, or maybe even a bit darker.
People with light / contrast vision issues have a really hard time even playing. What is needed (and Irongate seems uninterested in providing) is replacement LUTs or adjustment options.

tried troubleshooting by myself, cant find where's wrong, that or i just suck at troubleshooting
moved configula to recycle bin for the meantime since one of the red lines was that mod, currently the same biggest issue is still not being able to first time setup world(i'm assuming nor to enter other worlds, i dont want to ruin my other saves in case something goes wrong)

I were looking into increasing mob health and damage inside the valheim+ config. but servercharacters seems more important to me tbh
CreatureLevelLootControl or CLLC is how people balance their world outside of using world modifiers. Can configure just about anything with creatures or loot. even making all items float on water.

Azumatt has lots of QoL mods that he keeps updated,
In the long run it's better to use smaller QoL mods that just change things you want changed, rather than some Mega-Mod that patches hundreds of things if you use them or not.
Yeah, IMO the pick and choose method is better. I also support a minimum server mods model. There are some things where it makes sense to consolidate on, and others where (IMO) it's best to leave to players client-side.

Hey I'm using thunderstore to add some mods to valheim, but when I start the game in modded it starts without any mods ? Tried reinstalling the game and the mods but still no success, looks like bepindex not starting ?
PS: was using vortex without issues before, but removed all the mods from it, uninstalled vortex and made a fresh install on steam
It may be left over stuff from Vortex causing your issue. I'd recommend just deleting the main Valheim folder completely (your worlds and characters won't be deleted as they're in a different folder) and then reinstalling from Steam and use r2modman to load and run with the mods.

Have you installed the thunderstore.io's r2modman mod manager yet? And using that mod manager to install your BepInEx mod loader and the mods you want to use?

yes, but managed to fix the issue, restarted my computer, everything works just fine now, thanks for the help !
not so much an issue, but like a couple years ago now i played with a mod that added gold ore deposits around the map so you could mine it, smelt, it etc, the issue is ive completly forgotten the mod so i was curious if anyone else had played with a mod that had gold ore deposits,
Seems worth trying. As you know in the main menu it loads up a character so maybe something is borked with that. In my opinion you know that there is a messed up file somewhere causing problems. The fresher you can make the reinstall the better. And I mentioned revo uninstaller
I would back up those save and world files everywhere and obliterate every valheim file and mod you can
use revo to make sure as much as possible is clean and then do a reinstall
I could be wrong but I seem to remembering messing with I think it was a world file and it kept crashing me on load, maybe it was a character file, one or the other

Q: I was today years old when I discovered that mods are installed manually in Valheim mostly. Meaning no supported mods in NvidiaNOW or similar services.

anyone has a problem with Epicloot bounties? i can accept them but they dont go to active. i can still kill the mob and complete the bountie, but i cant claim it because its not on active. only after relogging its on active, but after claiming it it also doesnt go away
Any server optimization mods for ping and fps?

Hello, I mentioned this problem in the #mods-discussion channel a few days ago, but now Im gonna try here aswell.
Im having issues with the AAA_Crafting mod from Azumatt, the UI change doesnt appear for me, in where i can input the amount i want to craft.
Im using Thunderstore mod manager, but ive tried installing it manually aswell.
Ive also tried disabling all mods, other than bepinex and AAA_Crafting.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Looks like you have an old version of the configuration manager and are attempting to use Configula
Only use the official one or unofficial one that I upload to Thunderstore.

You could check your logs to see if it loads properly or has errors.

Hello, just checking back in on this. As I was running through the checklist of your suggestions (got rid of all overlays, peripheral softwares etc) I realized I'd forgotten about a Windows Security update from January that apparently a bunch of people have had issues installing (KB5034441). I was able to play in March, so I'm not sure if this would have anything to do with my issues but since you mentioned Windows updates I figured I'd ask. I also have not updated my BIOS software yet - is that something a relatively tech-illiterate person like me could do safely on their own?
Also @shy jacinth I tried deleting my characters/worlds and unfortunately got the same error code as always. Appreciate your help either way
BIOS updates can be dangerous but have been streamlined and made easier over time. Let me know your motherboard model and I'll look into it for you, some are really easy. I'll check out that windows update too.

Whether or not thats the core of the problem I think it definitely needs a update, I got the board at a refurbished PC parts store and MSinfo says the BIOS software is from 2017 😬
Some MBs even made it less dangerous with having 2 Bois and a dedicated USB slot for flashing them
There is at least 1 BIOS update for that from 2018. The process seems simple enough and they provide an easy to follow tutorial video. I don't think you'd be at any risk of harming anything. Only requirement is some external storage medium like a USB flash drive.

Did you try running the app with admin permissions?

Even if you can't get the mod manager to launch your game modded (there are ways to fix it) you can use it to organize your mods and setup configs then copy/paste easier than a manual installation. Anyone have the unfortunate experience of encountering a bug with the Bonemaw in Ashlands?
As soon as it spawned my boat and I got sucked straight to the bottom of the ocean. I let go but my character is stuck gradually drifting along at the bottom and boat is glued like it has a similar weight to a neutron star.
I know it's a mod issue, anyone know what mods gave you problems if you experienced this? (Or if you fixed it, that's also great info).
Also here is the log if anyone can make sense of it. This error is spammed rapid fire when my character is logged into the world.
Have anyone had mods work a while and then not working without any updates or anything? im struggling to get my valheim to what it was, i installed a few more mods and then it broke my game, so i removed it but its not the same as it was.
I fixed this by disabling Castix' Floating Items. Any floating items mod seems to have that issue, including ValPlus

anyone ever used the "Hoe radius" expension from nexus mod i used it to finish the last details on my Land yesterday and i started to noticed Bugged terrain around my Land. where it meets other biomes is there any fixes to this as iv gone around tried to flatten it and mine and add some back to make it go away. but theres still some locations with Bugged "terrain"

Not sure of the exact cause to put simply. It can happen in simple world generation as well. It’s part of their new terrain masking for lava
cause i just experimented with the Hoe radius No problem if Decrease or increase Value is low. but once its to much at once it seems the generation gets "Faulty" and it doesnt Load properly. What is the terrain masking for lava you mentioned?
and could someone even tell me what these files are ? Whats told to download BepinEx alongside the Hoe radius. but it seems its just a Dedicated server running in the background and if its Needed to run the mod
If your radius is too high, it will affect the edge of loaded areas. Which means the edge of unloaded area is not affected, so you get a gap.
You have to run the game once to let new mods create their .cfg files. When they do, the files will be along side the BepInEx.cfg file there.

If the mods are for your game, then running the game should be enough.

although their game is probably already jacked up from using vortex, nexus pulls an outdated version of bepinex

Most of us use r2modman or thunderstore mod manager, but being your game folder is all tainted with mods/junk you will want to do a clean install.

Yes. Delete your entire Valheim folder. Reinstall the game from Steam and go to thunderstore.io and download and use their r2modman mod manager to find and load your mods. Then, run your game from within the r2modmanager.

That looks like you have a mod that's out of date or broken.
ah one more question where is BepInEx config folder's location now ? 😄
When using r2modman, select Settings, then All, then Browse Profile Folder.
You can also use r2modman's Config option and view and change your mod's config files in there, too.

Is there a mod that takes the materials you need and puts them in your inventory? For example the requirements for a ship or portal. Maybe it is just me but I'm finding it tedious to pull the amounts out of the chest
for most things I just make one and then deconstruct, this puts the items in inventory... but for ships, kinda hard to do at your base 🙂

Right, using that, then you can like make a stone workbench, it'll pull parts from containers... then you can delete it to put the parts in inventory, then walk over to where you want it and build 🙂

I used a different version of Bep starting out not realizing the difference and one of the mods wouldn't work, but worked with that version

Do you have Cooking by Smoothbrain by chance? That will cause foods not to stack as they are crafted with different stats as you level skill.
general question - does it seem like most mods are working properly with ashlands now? me and my group wanted to wait until the patch officially dropped and the mods got cleaned up for the most part. any insight?\
It totally depends on which mods you've got. But, generally, I'd guess we're about 80% there today.
You can check over at thunderstore.io where the mods are marked for Ashlands or not. And see how your personal mods are doing. And you could test your mods by updating your game to Ashlands, see how the mods do. And, then if some aren't ready, move your game back to pre-Ashlands. You don't have to commit the whole server and all the players to test it.
Hey guys, theres any mod to whitelist players that dont need to use the password to join? The permittedlist from the game even if i have the players added, still requiring password to join.
What is whitelist?
A system that allows only the players that you authorized to join the server, without the need to use a password. Even if the server has a password.
Players out of that list wont be able to join the server in any way. Is a system to prevent troll players to ruin your server.

One quick question about mods, the mods that i add to my server, players need to do something for them to work or they will just work for everyone just fine?
Ive never run any kind of mods on any of my servers, so idk. I usually just work with plugins and players do not need to do anything.
That is not a quick anwser, it depends on the mod and how you set it up.
Ive only added two by now, Guilds and MaxPlayerCount
most mods will say on there thunderstore page where they need to be installed. most valheim mods need to be on the client, there is very few that are server only

Anyone know why my server mods configs keep resetting? I keep changing them in the original thunderstore configs and then copying those files to move into the servers files but they reset on relaunch
It sounds like the server isn't finding the edited copies of the config files. It might help if you deleted the server files before pasting them in, too.

None of the mods i added to my server is working for some reason, it does not give me errors, just dont work.
anybody willing to fix "i explored this" mod? it uncovers the map as if you explored it, removing the shaded area you learn from other players at the cartography table. The creator of the mod basically said they werent interested and didnt even know if they rememberd how to fix it.

Try removing or disabling that mod as a test. It seems a likely suspect.
You could try searching for a mod that does the same thing for you. Go to thunderstore.io and join the Valheim community there. Search for 'map' and review the search results. Choose one that says it's updated for Ashlands.

You can explore the whole map with the 'exploremap' command. No mod needed.
im saving that for end game. i dont wanna do that just yet. i just wanna get rid of shaded areas that indicate what others have explored for now

i have hdr on. so my apologies....but i mean the completely visible areas are what i explored. the fog of war is unexplored and but shaded areas are what others have explored. not me. thats what that mod does is change the shaded areas to look as if i explored them.

When you place your buildings with the Planbuild mod, can you snap them to existing structures?
That's the way I install mine too. Nothing wrong with that. Did you accidently copy them to the wrong folder maybe? Try the copy operation again.

How will you align buildings with roads and such?
I verified the integrity of some files because a mod had caused some chests to stop opening. So I think i had to reinstall bepinex files into the server
Also how do you get the server mods to not reset constantly because I keep having to change values on the stuff i've already copied over on the server
Yep, I fixed my original problem, now I just need to find out why the mods keep reverting values
When the server mods see that they have their own config files in the config folder, they won't overwrite them back to the defaults. The mods aren't finding their config files so they must be in the wrong folder.
I have them in the bepinex plugins and the server plugins folder, anything else im missing?
I use ComfyGizmo mod to place them how I want them.

It's one of your mods causing that for sure. You just need to do the trouble shooting to find out which one and remove it.

There is a PlanBuiild tool named 'Snap point marker". I've never used it but it sounds like just what you're looking for. You should explore that.

hasnt worked at all unless I change the configs mid game and log out and back in. thats the only way to get god mode to enable cause theres a setting to enable god mode at the start. but nothing else works like debugmode, spawn etc
You need to have the ServerDevcommands mod installed and running on your game so that it's always there. And you have to have your SteamID in the server's adminlist file. Then it should work all the time.
I do use a different pc for the server and the gameplay but even on the server pc i cannot do anything

Missing methods are always caused by using mods that aren’t for your game version
Only use Ashlands updated mods. Anything outside that needs testing before use
you are lagging because you've added 170+ mods, I don't think it'll be an error or anything like that, it's just too much to run smoothly

I'm using AzuExtendedPlayerInventory.
When I choose to add additional inventory rows, those bottom rows are blocked by other containers when I open other containers.
How can I move the location of the other containers so when I open them, they are not blocking the bottom rows of my inventory?
You can drag the containers out of the way, they are movable with ctrl+click drag if I remember correctly. There's also a config for it to set the chest UI location

blacks7ar's CombatOverhaulREwrite mod has a trojan according to anti virus, is this true or a false positive?
I have servers that churn out these 'errors' just like you described. And the servers seem to be unaffected and load up and run just fine. It's like the tons of 'shader' msgs that do the same thing.
I'd love to know how to 'fix' them or at least shut them off. But they don't seem to actually do any harm.
It has to be a false positive. Blacks7ar would never intentionally put a trojan virus in one of his mods.

Did the bannedlist.txt get updated? You could also remove them from the permittedlist.txt, and restart the server.
I'm not sure if any changes in the 3 text files are taking effect without a restart of the server.

Okay, seems like you need to have freaking valheimplus installed for the mods to load on nitrado, doesn't help deleting it manually either since the server. Tried Valheimminus which did nothing to help.
I've sent a ticket to see if Nitrado mods can do it manually.
However, if they can't help me. Do you have any server host recommendations that are good for modded valheim?
you can use https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/Azumatt/Valheim_Minus/ (put in patchers, not plugins) if Nitrado doesn't let you delete the dll. Can't recommend a host because I have a dedicated server. However, Nitrado usually is more expensive then other hosts

Does anyone have a fix for the Epic Loot bounty quests not working on a dedicated server?
Installed upgrade world but it doesn't seem to be working properly. Does not give me a 'start' option. Says it's running commands (temple_gen for instance) but nothing actually happens.
You have to run the command without 'start ' at the front of it first. Then, run the same command again with 'start ' at the beginning of it.

Out of the about 2700 mods on Nexus alone, I'll bet about half of them will have issues. Only you know what mods (and versions) you have loaded, and if they are updated or have known issues.
I have a world from the mistlands version of the game that I want to import and play on again. I imported the 2 files needed into the /worlds folder. When I select it in main menu and press start the game crashes while in the loading screen. Anyone know what the issue might be?
Try putting the two world files in your worlds_local instead of your worlds folder. That stores them locally. If, for some reason, you want them stored in Steam's cloud storage, you can change them from local to cloud with the options in the Steam client GUI interface.

I think that's caused by the MMHOOK mod needs an update. I get that error and PlanBuild nevertheless seems to work fine. Even though PlanBuild has MMHOOK as a dependency.

Hello all. I have 2 questions. I have devcommands installed on the server and a player that I trust also has devcommands installed on his client. His steam Id is listed on the server but he still cannot use any of the commands. He has the mod installed in his plug ins folder. And he has -console typed in steam. Any idea why he cannot use commands?
Second question. How do move a player to my location? I tried using recall [name] ( I used the characters actual name in place of name), but that did not work.
Make sure he has his Steam ID installed correctly on the server's adminlist.txt file and that his ServerDevcommands mod is loading and working properly on his PC. Have him check his log files to verify that it is. I assume he is accessing his F5 console ok and the commands just aren't working?
In my experience, the recall [name] command has never worked. It might or might not work for players in your immediate area. But, if that's all it does, it's kind of a waste of time even if it did work. If his name has a space in it, put it in quotes. Like recall "Harry Viking".
recall <name> only works if you are hosting the world as a peer server (and not using a dedicated server).
It needs access to the immediate peers which only the server has.

No. Installing the mod with the thunderstore app and then starting the game with the "Start Modded" button in there is the right way to do it.

Check to see that all those numbers on his user ID in the server's adminlist are correct. It's easy to mess up a number or two in there. 🙂

He joins the server ok and everything works except the devcommands, right? Have him try the 'unban' command to see if just the admin commands are working and not the devcommands.
And, he can type 'help' in the F5 console and see which, if any, commands are listed there.
He logs in just fine when he hit F5 and typed help he gets nothing but errors
One of his mods might be interfering with his console access. He has exactly the same mods as you do? You could send him your r2modman profile code for him to use to be sure.

hey guys. I installed bepinex configuration manager and when I open it up in game with F1 it wont let me change anything. Does anyone know why this might be?
What does it do exactly when you try to change something? Just ignore you and not fill in the option boxes?
when moving sliders, just doesn't move them. When trying to change a number it just backspaces through the numbers and doesnt delete them. The buttons up top work ie "normal settings" "keyboard shortcuts", but nothing else works

Yeah, pretty sure that's one of the mods setting the mud piles health low. Hard to tell which mod might be doing that. Are you using single mods or a modpak?

You could try doing a File Manager search for "MudPile" on the config folder and see it that flags a mod or two.

Yes, you should. As long as you're playing on the server. But it only edits the mods on your game. Not the server's mods.

Depending on the number of mods you have, you can edit them manually in the server's BepInEx config folder. Or if you have a lot of mods it might be easier to install r2modman on the server and use it to install the server mods. I think you can start a Windows hosted server from within r2modman if the server uses the default 2456 port. Otherwise, manually copy the profile folder's plugin folder manually to the server's plugins and config folder and start the server manually.
However, if you use a Linux host, you can't normally just start the server from within r2modman like you can with your game. You have to access the profile folder in r2modman and manually copy the plugin and config folders items manually to the server's BepInEx plugins and config folders.
The only time I've gotten r2modman to start up the Linux server, using it's 'Start Modded' button, is when using the default 2456 port for the server and copying the suggested Linux start up script in your Steam launch field.
The only reason i avoided using r2modman was because I was unsure of how to install mods to the dedicated server and my own game

Hello, im playing a moded server with over 90 mods, I single tested each one of them, and it turns out that marketplace and NPC is breaking my ingame console. im the only player with this issue, why this can be, and any tips on how to solve it
You'll have to test each mod and update or remove the mod(s) that are causing the issue

I would temporarily remove the 2 mods and test it. If you have no issues then, sadly, you will have to remove those mods or update them

Vortex doesn't load Valheim mods properly. You won't be able to make it work.
I recommend that you delete your game folder and all your mods and start over with thunderstore.io's r2modman manager. It just works and it's free you just have to be willing to do the clean up and reinstall, which I know is a bother but it's worth it.

you can try finding the problematic mod with binary search (remove half of your mods, keep adding or removing halves until the issue appears or disappears)

If you follow their instructions closely, yes. I'd recommend you use thunderstore.io's r2modman mod manager. It makes it much easier.

When you use r2modman, it will automatically go to thunderstore.io and download and install the mod(s) you tell it to use. Then, you start your game from inside the mod manager by clicking it's "Start Modded" button.
You really should get and install the r2modman manager and load it up and look around in there to see what it does and how it does it.
i should've clarified, i have an existing world with 2 mods installed thru thunderstore, reinstalling those 2 with like 8 more in R2 would that mess anything up in that world?

It shouldn't be a problem. Create and archive a backup copy of your world for insurance. It's usually recommended that you remove any existing mods and re-verify your game files in your Steam Client but that's probably not required.

Trees Reborn will skip that part and auto plant them. Configurable chance as well. Then just break the sapling if you want to remove the tree altogether.

It depends on each mod. They can all be different. You need to read the mod's description carefully and, if still not sure, read their config file, too.

You can try loading the world on your solo game with no mods and then see if it fixes it self. If it does, save the world and reload it with your mods. Hopefully, it'll be back to normal. Good luck with it!

You can still do what I suggested when it's a server. As long as it's your server and you have access to the server's files. If you don't, then I don't know of any way to fix that other than maybe getting the server to shut down and restart.

Check the mod's config file to see if there's a keybind for it. Like Shift+MouseWheel, or Ctrl+, or Alt+ for both right and left keys.

There is a Valheim Plus version that includes BepInEx (the thing that loads mods into your game) which seems to be what is installed on the server you are trying to join.
Try downloading the "ValheimPlus Windows Client" file from here and unpack it into your game folder (if using steam it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim).
In case you already have an older version of this installed, just click "accept/okay" when your computer asks you if it should replace existing files when unpacking, to update it.

It's plug and play unless you need or want to change one or another of your mod's configuration. If you want to customize a mod for some reason, then inside r2modman you select Edit Configs and choose the config line for your mod and change it's options right there inside r2modman.

Yeah, almost all mods have or will create a .cfg file for themselves in the BepInEx config folder. You only need to access them and change something in there when you want to customize them. And r2modman lets you do that from inside r2modman when you want to.
Only I didn’t find the scope setting or its extensions here in CFG.

Mostly look for the mod's most recent update date. Ideally, it should have been updated after the 5/14 Ashlands patch. On thunderstore.io, you can see the 'Ashlands' flag at the bottom of the mod's icon in your search results there.
Mods are generally designed to be compatible with each other and an incompatibility problem is pretty rare.

Can anyone explain this to me. I have been trying to start a new character but everytime as soon as I get the workbench and place it down, every build in the game unlocks. Stuff from every biome and things you only get at end game. What do I do to fix this? I do have mods installed but none that should unlock anything?

Might want to verify the issue is with the vanilla game or with the mods you have installed. Remove all the mods 1st, then add them back one at a time to see if the issue goes away and then comes back when a particular mod is added. Even if it isn't the mods, this is a good way to troubleshoot the issue and eliminate possible culprits. IF the issue is with a mod, then you can target that mod's author to troubleshoot. If it is vanilla, then you can ask in the vanilla Discord channels to troubleshoot it further (just leave the mods out until the issue is resolved).

It looks like the Server has v5.4.2200 while the client has the latest at 5.4.2202...you can either download the newest version manually and install it on the server, or download the older version for your client and install it on your client. Probably the 1st option is the better one. You'll need FTP access to the APEX server, do you know how to do that?

In order to run mods you need "BepinEx" on your server too and you also need some mods there.
According to the website, when you select "Valheim Plus" as the game version, it loads up an image of the Valheim with BepInEx pre-installed (but you still have to upload individual mods using the instructions on that website.) It may be that this version is only at v5.4.2200 and not the latest. If that is the case, then you may need to manually install the latest version on the server (though I'm not sure how you do this with Apex...probably a good question for the Apex support) or you can downgrade your client version to v5.4.2200 (available on Thunderstore under the Versions tab) to make them compatible.
I wouldnt use a host that still uses valheim plus.

All mods run on bepinex, it's the loader for valheim mods.

Early on you had no choice and ValheimPlus = modding according to paid host.
This due to the author of ValheimPlus did various nefarious things and then disappeared for good.
It's only now recently after many years of asking that they offer a pure version without ValheimPlus.

I don't know...I'm basing this off of the website Apex hosting has on how to enable and install mods. But they have you select a ValheimPlus game version, then you upload the mods via an FTP interface. Seems like you should be able to launch a normal Valheim game and then just add the BepInExPack manually via FTP as well, but I'm not sure because I'm not using them. I can't push all the buttons to verify. 🙁
Maybe for some but with most you need to pick the BepinEx option and uploading manually doesn't work.
They probably install it differently so if you just upload the folder it doesn't run BepinEx.

Usually when the game updated, you restored a backup, reinstalled etc so this mod was nice.

When it's mostly just people wanting to experiment or add some custom content to enhance the gameplay everything is fine and dandy, but when people start using mods to create an edge over competition...politeness goes out the window. Hopefully valheim doesn't have this issue as there isn't much competition in a solo or cooperative game.

that is the age old question I guess, at what point is QoL a cheat. I guess if the advantage it gives not obtainable by other players. I mean with AH I could sit there, try and sort seller prices with the default and go through page after page finding the lowest price just as the addon does so it's not really a cheat.
If all players have the same QoL options, they all agree to the settings, then it's not so much cheating against another player, but cheating vs the game mechanics.

That's the thing that always confused me about this mod tbh. Like, it's fine getting every single mod that replaces V+ (there even is a complete list of those) but then V+ doesn't work with it. 😅
I really wonder what's different with V+ combining a lot of functions than having single mods for everything.

In what way? It's not like mod authors benefit from their mods being super popular or not. If someone doesn't want a mod they simply refuse to install it, move on and that's it.

The other day I was playing a p2p multiplayer world with 4 buddies and after a while we started noticing there was some enemies that were dead.... but pretending to be alive.
They would run around and attack but dealt 0 damage to players. You also couldn't hit them.
However, they could still damage buildings for example Greylings throwing a rock and hitting a furnace or something to that effect...
After restarting all of them were correctly despawned and the issue didn't reappear in the next 45~ mins we played.
Is this just a multiplayer valheim thing or possibly a mod thing?

In short, it was done to fight against the V+ plague and server hosters forcing it on their players.
Now that the majority of the big hosters don't force it on the player anymore I don't see a reason to keep blocking it.
I used to block it too, along with Epic Loot but removed my blocks a long time ago.
V+ is never recommended, it's a broken mod that causes a massive amount of problems.
There's a working version out there but it still uses the rotten core of V+ so problems remains.
And no, you cannot remove that block and if you do, you will not have a pleasant experience.

I downloaded the BepInEx (Version 5.4.2202, because it says to be recommended for those mods) and installed on my server folder.
I downloaded all the mods i wanted to install (or test) on my server, they were: Guilds, MaxPlayerCount, ServerDevcommands, ItemStacks and PlantEverything.
As soon i installed the mods, i shutdown my server and then turned on. Then Plugins config folders were created.
I changed what i wanted and then restarted the server again.
After all this be done, i finally when ingame to test those mods annnnnnnddd, NONE OF THEM SEEMED TO BE WORKING.
What should i do?????

we do have a lumberyard mod installed on our server, but the issue is i cant go in the server but my friends can
so i cant decide whether to remove the mod completely since it works for others

we do have an autofuel mod. i just cant pinpoint what the problem is since its isolated to me.

actually that's the thing. i am not "disconnected" i just literally can't connect.
after the password login screen the game will load infinitely
then after 30 minutes it goes back to the main menu.
will need to check both server and client logs, they are inside the Bepinex folder, the Logoutput.log
see what it's doing when you "freeze"
so what i did was compare my client log with my friends client logs. the major difference we have is that I have the error i sent above.
on the server's logs some mod is flooding it with an error, but using a text editor i searched for my connection logs which show no error
well, you certainly dont want some error flooding your server
when i "freeze" client logs just stop completely no logs afterwards.
server logs side it just shows that i am connecting then will flood with errors
set the configuration for bepinex to "append logging", just make sure to set it back after
yea i think its due to a mod update conflicting with something, i even thought that was the problem but my friends are able to connect so i put it on the backburner
set the config to append logging, do some tests, then close out and change it back after gathering the log

oh okay, im in the process of completely reinstalling any valheim related stuff
r2modman, valheim, clearing out cache, just basically clearing out any valheim related files
which actually brings me to this question, is r2modman app better or the thunder store mod manageR?
usually I just delete my valheim folder, goto properties of valheim in steam library and have it verify the files, it does a clean install. then in r2modman i create a new profile and download a couple mods I know that work or that were updated recently.
anything more than that is probably overkill
i actually did that 6 hours ago haha i spent all night on this but took a rest since i still have work today haha
well, I think the issue will be what ever is flooding the server with errors
i'm running out of options though 😦

they are sorta the same thing, one has advertisements, one doesnt.

sounds like some ui mod on the server, but servers do not run a ui to need such a mod
yea i just removed better ui on the server since it doesn't really need it buut the floodign still persisted after removal

just ignore the better UI mod, what I do is install that mod pack then manually copy the files to our server.
i just remove the non server needed mods manually

well, cllc has an option to make items float, so you dont need floating items mod.

shutup hides a lot of stuff to prevent mods spamming bepinex logs, but it also isnt the best for trying to troubleshoot

I cant be saying it's "trash" it's much better now than it was. The main issues I had with it have mostly been fixed, but JC was built around optimization and customization, while EL was made as a loot piñata.
in recent updates to EL a lot of things have been fixed, bit more put into balance.
I just feel JC adds to playtime while EL sorta takes away from it.
now you're making me mull over whether i should remove it then stick with jewel crafting.
but my friends are hving fun with the bounties tho. as the server owner i feel like what i say should go but we have a democratic rule HAHA

JC has an api that other mod authors can make gem mods, there are several. CrystalLights and MagicPlugin with rings and stuff. There is options for YML configs that you can pretty much set the mod up any way you like, even make it drop full socketed items like EL with enchanted drops.
bounties are cool in EL, but I will never get back the time I wasted traveling to bugged spawns xD
now i am really mulling it over haha.
ugh yes, there are times where i was searching for 10 minutes around the bounty's perimeter before it friggin' loaded
the good thing about it though is that it keeps my friends with more things to do
its much better now, like I said, a lot of things got fixed by the 3rd author of EL.

Is anyone using Hip Lantern by shudnal? I can't seem to refuel it. I've cleared the recipe and crafting station, the mod page states that it should be able to be refueled by hand. I have tried several different approaches but can't get results.
hiya, does anyone know of any good melee weapons/armour mods that would make a melee class alot better? right now mages are beyond godlike compared to melee...with mages hitting for 2000 every shot and melee only hitting 1000 against a staggered enemy. (enemys in my server are all 3 star and above so somehting that can compete would be good) thanks for any answers boys

How do you report mod issues for Valheim mods obtained through the Thunderstore?
Check the mod's web page and see there is a link on the mod's description to contact the mod author.
There isn't one on the weblink from the Thunderstore for any mods there. If there was I would not be asking how to report issues. I use addons quite often on other games like World of Warcraft and being able to report issues with those addons is never an issue.

been awhile since I've played modded valheim but was hopping onto my main character on my server. Using about 26 mods but now my character doesn't want to move around at all is and stuck in one spot. Anyone know the issue or fix please?

Hey folks, with Valheim autosort ---- I have the id "bugmeat" and "haremeat" in the string, but it isn't sorting into chests. Any ideas?
same with jotun puffs ---everything else, including other mistlands items, works fine.

Yep, turns out they are wrong, the correct ids are:
HareMeat --> NOT haremeat
BugMeat --> NOT bugmeat
MushroomJotunPuffs --> NOT MushroomJotunpuffs
Make sure everything is up to date, easy if you are using thunderstore----> disable all mods and load into the world/character that is broken one mod at a time
each time a mod works fine, test that mod's functionality if it's all good then close game and enable a second mod --- etc etc etc until you find the issue mod

me and my friend use craft from containers, for me it works but for my friend it doesnt he does see the option to stack insert items in for example a furnace, but cant craft from chests. any tips?
also when i stack insert, 1 item goes in but everything from my inventory is gone.. same for my friend. if you have a tip, please ping me 🙂

I pushed the cfg again, and also dropped all items I want to plant onto ground to pickup fresh. Still nada.
Oh, hmm... this might be a case of file watchers not working on sandboxed/virtualized Linux hosts. Update your local file while admin to propagate changes to the server instead.
Or have you tried a server restart after updating the server-side file already

Nope, still nothing. It is what it is.
For future, start a world with cheats enabled and use the dev console. You can type "spawn X" where X is the item, just try things until you see the autocomplete come up and BAM there is your internal id!
for example I found out CharredSkulls are actually Charredskull by searching "spawn Char"
Easier than that, pickup VNEI mod and you can search for any prefab in your game, including modded. There is a copy icon for pasting the prefab name elsewhere. Sometimes the prefabs are something strange, like Hatchling for Drakes.
I'm primarily just trying to get internal ids for the autosort addon. Base inventory management in this game is disgustingly bad.
Understood, but this has been my goto admin mod for getting prefab names. Just a big internal dictionary.

I had a thought. Ensure you have the same ExtraResources file locally as you do on the server, it could be you're overriding it as admin. I haven't tested that functionality in a while and forgetting how it works.
Best thing to do also is test in solo with debugmode and noCost enabled to instantly see all available recipes
I pushed both the config and extra resource file just to be sure. I'll do some testing on 1p and see if I can get it to function from there.

Hello, I posted this issue before, but did not find a solution. I'm playing in a modded server This mod (https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/KGvalheim/Marketplace_And_Server_NPCs_Revamped/) is breaking my ability to use ingame console and commands, I am the only player affected by this so it must be something local on my pc I suspect, what could it be ? playing without the mod is not an option, previous versions present the same problem. Any clue on what to and where to look for appreciated.

I would appreciate some help since nothing worked for the moment.we loaded mods on our server (using verygames' ftp, fyi), we checked obviously if they were updated, they are but when joining the game none of them is working.. no error, nothing.. it works on solo mode but not on multiplayers... any idea?
Install BepinEx on the server.

If there's no such file then BepinEx isn't running!

Hi everyone, I am using Rusty's Seasonality mod on my server and I have an issue where the next season (after 5 hours of previous season, for example Fall) does not automatically switch to Winter, the counter for some reason resets another 5 hours of the same Season. Could anyone help me with this please?
I have every season set to 5 hours duration (5 hours, 0 days and 0 minutes) in configs.
TL;DR:
start with Fall season
wait 5 hours until Fall timer countdown reaches zero
it should automatically switch to Winter season
but resets to 5 hours left (another 5 hours) of Fall season
Any way to remedy this?
Did it ever work right or is this a recent problem? You could check your logs to see if there's any errors in there that might help trouble shoot.
Is this the same for when a friend joins my game? I don't run a dedicated server if thats a thing, but i just checkmark "start server" when playing and a friend joins me. But recently a mod worked for me but didnt for him. But our configs where slightly different

Hey guys, I made this modpack (018fe122-4c30-6620-978a-0f0ca812d15a) using thunderstore mod manager to play with my friends but every time I go in the world I can't move and none of the commands work. I went from 73 mods to 59 by slowly uninstalling them but nothing has worked so far. I can open my inventory and the menu but I can't log out of the world or quit the game, I only open the settings. I play on keyboard and mouse and last time I played modded I used very similar mods but I stopped playing after my main world got corrupted and became unjoinable. What could be causing this?
