Because there's next to nothing in terms of skulls, let alone Caves.
some mistlands are mostly water and peaks etc.. not very great. but sometimes there is a skull nearby and just hard to see. it is tough. i got better at finding them the more I did it. around water seemed to be a decent tip I saw somewhere, and it may require just multiple mistlands.
it turned out my first mistlands biome was not the best
the amount of eitr used in everything and for upgrades etc it is a chore tho for sure

Ok, so the connection to their server is failing. As it is affecting everyone but them it is likely something their end.
It may be that their connection is too slow, or their ISP is causing it, or they are using a VPN.
Their game logs might indicate why it is happening.

Sometimes it changes after 30 seconds after entering the game, sometimes after 5 minutes.

I opened the game from this file StartHeadlessServer.bat and set up a server. Same problem. My friend installed cross platform, we tried it there too, same problem.

You don’t need any health food as a mage because you’re probably using a staff of protection. I usually see people using 2 eitr 1 stamina.

That’s because it takes damage from pickaxe and chop damage types. Large enemies and most bosses will do that, so try to keep your distance.

@subtle bay I run Warrior-Mage for Ashlands. I use staff of protection and embers at first. I got Ask set for mobility and still attack ability. all good stamina buffs. Feather cape for jump-casting. I keep Bonemass as my buff. I use fire resist mead in ashlands. wheni get into combat i use lingering stam potion and lingering eitr potion. often after i cast protection bubble, i use major healing potion. i use a crossbow with me for range. sword and shield melee. I use big HP food, big Eitr food, and big Stam food. in Ashlands i'll do piquant pie, marinated greens, roasted crust pie. later into ashlands i add staff of the wild and lightning berserker axes. the bubble and ask set stam mobility allows you to jump cast and the big stam food allow you to run and jump and almost never get hit. when eitr is low and stam is high, i pull out sword and smash closeby mobs w/ melee

I find it's best to just always ensure you're rested. Two HP one Stamina food and I guess yeah if you're finding yourself in moments of "oh shit" the Tasty can get you out of trouble.

Yes, armor resistances don't stack with status effect resistances.
The only resistances that can stack are resistances on a shield, as those are applied in blocking instead of damage reduction.

It could be anything. In my first playthrough we were past day 200 because we moved base multiple times and weren't too focused on progression. Also the game is slower with more players, and there was 4 of us.

If you find chains in your first crypt, use your first iron to make a stone cutter, longship and iron cooking station. Then you can use the longship to find leviathans and hunt serpents, cook their meat for good food and use their scales for the next tower shield

The way I approach a crypt is to put a portal, workbench, and chest(s) on top. Stairs on side to get up easily.

You need 3 portals to change the name of one connection.
Empty one down at either site.
Rename the original one to what you want it to be, rename the new one to the old name, go trough, rename the portal you get out of to the new name, go back trough and pick up the left over portal.

Yes. Tankards shouldn't be used in combat because it's much slower than drinking mead directly. They're mainly for drinking some tasty mead with your friends

Oh yeah. It does great damage in mistlands and even in Ashlands. Both frost and fire staves are sorta OP imo. Get blood magic up to 60 or better for a huge shield and mage is nearly unkillable.

That small group will basically be mad at you forever. You can bait a seeker soldier or gjall over to them to get them distracted while you get your stuff. Other options are if you have puffer fish or a lot of refined eitr you can toss out around that area they will die that way too if you can't kill them. The mages are the ones to be wary of the rest can be kited easy enough. Not an easy group to deal with depending on how many and your gear level.

Just take over a fortress. Unbreakable walls.
Once you clear a fortress, use the new floor pieces to make a roof and you are set.

When I first did ashlands. I made a smal area to setup my portal. Raise ground about 5 times and build a square. Put stone roof and portal inside. Safe pretty much unless the fire blobs explode against your earth wall a few times they can destroy it. Then keep exploring and when you take over a fortress you are good on a base from that point forward.

When you first land the chaos can be overwhelming because the more you fight the more you attract. It can be a real learning experience. Learning when to fight and when to run on matters after you get a portal established. Also, I would never fight at night in ashlands if you can avoid it. If you think the spawns are alot in the daytime they are way worse at night.
Fortress will have a big green light shooting out of it. Trust me you will know when you see one.

You can reduce spawns by putting down camp fires every so often to make you an easier path if needed but honestly not necessary if you pay attention and don't just sprint everywhere. Walking can be your friend in ashlands.

You will have that wtf moment when you get 6 askvin, a morgen, harpy and some of the little ones all at once. It happens to everyone at some point. If you are calm and don't panic it is usually something you can kite away from, but not always. There are some true overwhelming moments in ashlands because almost any fight can attract more. I like the zone but it took some getting used too. Just be patient, it is your friend there.

Personally I don't run them for anything but boss fights or those oh shit moments, but fire mead obviously is great in the ashlands because of the harpies and blobs. Most people like the lingering stamina and health potions when needed. If you are running magic you want the lingering eitr and lingering stamina if you are having trouble. Magic is seriously OP in ashlands. Once you get the hang of it you are almost unkillable with bubble of protection, staff of the wild, frost and ember staff as needed.

Whether you use 2 health or 2 stamina foods depends on your playstyle, just like all other biomes
I use 2 health with a tower shield or normal shield, 2 stamina with a buckler, 2-handed weapon or 1h no shield, and 2 eitr 1 stamina with magic

You can, may not yield best results depending on color of the area. It gets depleted and takes time to "refill or recharge" so to speak.

The root wont glow as brightly. You can keep one sap extractor to instantly collect the sap when it refills.

Staff of embers is generally better, but in some situations the frost staff can be helpful. Make the staff of embers first, then the frost staff as soon as possible.

I wouldnt say it sucks. Could do more, I have a feeling it will suck in Deep north but I find it very useful at times in ashlands. Especially with Morgen and Harpy at same time fights. Not going to be your primary way to kill everything though. I feel the skeleton staff is worse but that is more my playstyle and maybe not a function of overall usefulness. I need to do a mistlands/ashlands playthrough with just the skeletal staff and trollstav. I think it would take forever to kill fader with just the skeletal staff summons. Would be interesting challenge for sure.

Depends on how you plan to fight Yag. If you want to do it in melee rnage while circling him, the frost staff will be more useful but both will work. At full range, embers is going to be way easier and more useful. Further you get away the less useful frost staff gets.

the oldest spawned skellett will die when you spawn too many
if you get a bow skelett and need to kill swordsmen after, use a butcher knife or turn on friendly fire.

Just have a wolf chase you down the mountain to a safer biome to tame it. That's how I got mine. Meadow near the mountain.

Yes, it’s much quieter than other bows so you can attract small groups of enemies. It’s very useful in the 5th biome because of this

It is rather cheap and with upgrades it will be better than your current bow, it is also the most silent bow in the game and good for the swamps to not all together swamp you.

They are quite slow but pack a punch, dodge rolling is good and if you have enough health and a good buckler you can stagger them with parrying.
