Typically, 2-4 hives per person makes more than enough IMO. I believe they produce 4 honey per game day(30 min irl time).

You should make a shield. Get either a level 3 wood shield or level 3 wood tower shield before entering the next biome.
All types of shield are good if you use them right, so use what you want to use, not what others tell you to use.

if left just randomly in the world then yes in 1 hour/2 in-game days, as Brian said, player base items (workbench, campfire, ...) can prevent despawning if the item is not under at least 2m of water, also, your corpse/tombstone will never despawn and it floats if you die in water 🙂

Nothing that makes it any easier, just take out as many of the spawners that you can, establish a basic base ASAP with a portal back home to make death runs easier and then just a methodical scouring of the rest of the island(s).

Spear to the belly is very effective. If you keep kiting under him and stay away from his face he turns slowly and you just have to avoid the tick drops but he dies fast while spearing or shooting that way. Just stay away from his front 1/3 to avoid the fireballs.

afaik, the deeper into ashlands you go the more dmg it does, but thats about all my knowledge about it

Protection staff does not help with the boat and not sure about player, the damage comes in ticks and goes up both from going deeper into Ashlands and also the longer you are in water (that’s what it feels like to me anyway)

yeah that's what i was thinking. i got stranded due to desync and died while about to reach shore, but i noticed my prot shield popped so wondered if it was padding.
HOWEVER, i tried it with my skelettes and they were taking damage regardless, ticks of 10, and the shield popped soon after (i wonder if there's a chop value to the ashlands water)

They have a chance to spawn in several locations but when you first locate one that will be the permanent location for that world. If you sail around your starting island and increase the radius a little as you do it to the next islands you usually find one if not both. Sometimes they can be farther away but usually you find at least one of them within a reasonable sail distance.

Depends on size. If you want them to breed there are great guides that tell you how many can be in each X by X meter space and them continue to breed. There are also infinite breeders you can build as long as the eggs fall at least 10m from breeding pair.

Most likely totally a space issue. Hens, chickens, and eggs all contribute to a density limitation. My advice is build your coop and play with the number of hens/eggs until you find a good balance.

Also, collecting the eggs when your hens are mid way through being DTF helps. It frees space for them to lay again.

Once you have 2 hens established, you can remove the fire source if you just need eggs, unless you're needing the chicken wings which case you do need the fire etc

Just keep looking, you might have a shit biome of Mistlands and not many spawned. Look for swords jutting out of the ground, followed by rib cages, a skull will usually proceed it.

But if you want to try it, you'll need to craft the bm axe first, so you can cut down the mistland trees to get the wood to make the pickaxe in order to get into the jotun skulls to get the materials to refine so you can make the staffs. ||

i followed that video and it worked. hatch the hens in a two 1x1 wood floor spots. then underneath you off-snap a 2x1 beam. when they are hens you break the two 1x1 and they fall a bit onto the beam. then when you place the seeds, they face up at the food, and their butts are aiming down. then the lay eggs that fall down the ramp far enough away to satisfy the distance requirements

my friend booted up valheim and found his character was missing. we googled all the fixes and none of them work, because all of the fixes involve digging in the files and finding an older instance in the files of the character that has been lost.

whatever happened between my friend closing the game earlier this week and opening it today seems to have clean sweeped all of the files of this character entirely. there are no files to be found in the directory at all. he has not done anything to mess with the game or his files, and simply quit the game normally last time he played his character.
