I have always had problems with the terrain.
Actually just janky in my opinion.
But specifically here I'm also starting to get textured glitches just due to the amount of burn textures overlaid over the planes so I'm wondering if I might have broken the math engine somehow???
no clue but i would submit a video for review or something
Because again I have cleared this boss on harder difficulties, everything seems to be respawning with full health bars every time I go through the portal, what used to be yellow colored is now just pitch black as well as a lot of fog particles from the mistlands nearby... Maybe the game is just trying to do too much and is somehow confusing numbers Im lost here
also id just command console to fix it up how you think it should be or something
That's probably going to have to wait until tomorrow they broke the portal.
f
It is an actual hour and 10 minutes by longboat 🫠
jesus lol
ugh. No secondary portal on the island anywhere?
#building-screenshots message What’s “wrong channel” with this screenshot? 🤔
There was, but they broke that one first. I was trynna set it back up when the gjalls decided otherwise
is it modded?
Don’t think so? 🤔
Your fourth photo shows bushes and vegetation from multiple different biomes. That's only possible with mods.
You've got plains bushes growing next to thistle.
The game is but the server is not.
I've already uninstalled mods and refreshed installation.
I think what's happening here is a truly atrocious combination of texture overload, with the mist and plains biomes own critter spawns continuously repopulating the boss fight.
If it was just Yag hitting harder than he should, I could eventually knuckle through.
sharp eyes
(Not my screenshot btw!)
Staff allows plants from different biomes, since they can be placed using dev commands 👀
its a very cozy base though
yeah idk what to say other than console command fix up your situation
It’s a very nice build
yeah, but likely most people thought same thing, hence the reactions.
Yee, my thoughts as well. Just curious, thanks!
Tough break.
ok so i need black cores to make eitr or something?
man i hope theres a bug den here
oh and the sap extractor
ugh
You need pretty much every resource from the biome.
Well, we're at peak bullshit rn.
I'm gonna go farm for bombs, then bring an army of like 5 Lox and some wolves. Then just make 300 ice arrows and whittle away at him.
just let me obtain my magic bs and all is well 🫠
go scrounging then. You need cores, marble, wood, sap and soft tissue.
Wait can I use the harpoon to drag him into the ocean?
yeah i just wanna make a ton of torches so im kinda locked till i obtain a ton of those
I've usually needed a second bow, too. You may not, with the army your bringing.
ooooh i just saw the big man. the run must be blessed
Lies. Black cores are useless!
lol ok.
Ah yes the obligatory "wind absolutely has to be against where your going" I have to row across the planet wish me luck gang
Of course.
Do mobs eventually drown?
just you
I've been thinking about enclosing a dwarf spawn and sinki-
Ah. Only me...
oh damn double big man check in.... he must be pissed at me
I had a troll raid recently and was taken aback by how easy they are now for me
👀
I remember my first time getting to the mistlands. I was like. "Sweet there is a little piece of land thats visable!" Bugs.... BUGS!! THEY CAN FLY!?
landed on my ship and it was a naval bug battle I lost terribly
It actually bothers me that deathsquitos sound like flies, and not mosquitoes
I had Oshaune flashbacks the first time I saw a seeker ngl.
I'm telling ya
Just watched a firing squad of dwarves kill a sea serpent. 🤷♂️
silver sword not doin hot vs seekers unfort
Yags fire can stack so it can really shred through your hp in seconds if you get hit my multiple meteors or stay in his lingering fire longer
is blackmetal atgir better?
Better than what?
sorry silver sword for seeker
Probably the black metal sword for seekers is better. I used the silver sword tho anyway lol
Oops, I let autofuel run amok, I have two reinforced chests full of coal now...
I think that coupled with my own fires and knockback is what's doing it.
I've moved the portal up the side of a mountain so hopefully he can't hit me from there
It would be cool if the cartography table provided some kind of weather forecasting capability, it would make it useful for solo players
im sure theres a chart with all the days and weathers laid out but yeah in game would be neat
yeah I use https://jotun.games/weather-forecast/ which reverse engineered the weather algorithm but it would be nice if I could forecast the weather more immersively
I mean, IRL I do a lot of wilderness travel, and I have some sense of tomorrow's weather usually, it would be nice to have something like that
Humans can smell a storm literally dozens of miles away if it's upwind
personally i kinda find it fun to just roam and change plans as needed
i live in a place where you can never count on anything about the weather
Then, the weather in this game is just... random, so the idea that I can't forecast it at all is a bit weird
I just built a base on a plains/meadow border, it's weird to take three steps and see the weather change from thunderstorm to clear, but I can live with that
seekers are naturally resistance to physical dmg
so it halves the dmg of your weapon
ooh, spoiler, thanks
(I don't mind spoilers or I wouldn't be here)
my bad
I forgor I was so focused on his question
Hey you havent seen what they look like so still spoiler free
And the game doesn't make it very obvious what is resistant to what, what with all the graphical vomit in combat
you kinda figure it out by the damage colors but i agree
its a trial and error situation for sure
Yeah that's what I mean, the colours are hard to catch in the heat of battle
I did figure it out pretty quick that polearms are good for trolls but that was trial and error
spoiler no open :)
||weapons with elemental dmg type, the elemental dmg will still do full dmg + half of your current weapons physical dmg to seekers||
Wait this game doesn't have "elemental" damage as in Final Fantasy air/earth/fire/witer, does it?
basically lets say
(150÷2=75 physical dmg)
(15 elemental dmg)
so 75+15 you get 90dmg
This is just my understanding of the how the calculation works
Fire, frost, lightning, poison
-# can’t remember if others
So it might be wrong
I thought posion is a status effect?
Its damaging you, is it not?
Yes, but just once, or over a period of time?
Over time
It's just a few seconds in my experience
It’s still a damage “type”
But does it also inflict immediate elemental damage?
the elemental dmg all have their own independent dmg + status effect overtime (e.g fire and poison)
Yeah I didn't realize they do immediate damage before the status damage
so if your weapon does 50 elem dmg it will immediately add that to the dmg plus status effect if can inflict
It takes a bit getting your head wrapped around it
but all you really need to know is enemy weakness and resistances and just keep wacking away
I tend to figure it out by killing everything that moves
It certainly helps to keep it in the back of your mind but its not necessary
just keep whacking them till they flatline
Weapon preference is also a key factor since you might like one weapon but it sucks at killing certain enemies
so its a balance
Kill them until they die from it? (missing gif from Hot Shots!)
atgirs -> swords -> klossen+magic is usually my path
Im excited for that 2h sword in deep north
iron mace is always on standby tho 😎
Looks glinty
where was that shown?
in one of the teasers in their news
oh yeah when I am truely post endgame I love the 2h flametal sword
There we are
My favorite weapons so far are the sledgehammers
They're very... Wrath Of Thor
So I dead ass think I broke the math system in the game.
Un/re-equipping armor multiple times now has them doing what they should be doing.
Camping offshore and aggroing individual mobs to kill/despawn them has set them back to normal
Yag isnt stacking fire damage as bad and now I can take hits.
So we're just at the normal level of infuriating horse shit. You know, not being able to move because "???" And dying to fucking mosquitos repeatedly.
I think this seed is actually just cursed.
u good bro?
sounds like layer 7 hell
This game is just great.. there are times that I wish to challenge myself and then there are times where I simply wish to get smashed and chill by the hearth (like tonight). I am so very excited for the Deep North but I am being patient and finding time in the game so much fun even after all this time spent....
sure it's scaled to be difficult even on normal because every biome has a "right of passage" in my opinion, and it should be hard as it makes the success that much better
I am straight up not having a good time.
its a game isnt life stressful enough
This is the game I normally play to relax but I think I may have actually broken the seed somehow.
I have already cleared this boss on hard difficulty I'm on easy.
I have been fighting him for 27 hours now, and I genuinely have no fucking clue what's happening 🤷♂️
At least I fixed the armor stats not functioning but the ocean isn't applying the wet status and I'm constantly on fire even when there is nothing burning on screen.
are you modding?
I'm actually tempted to just go load into a different world kill yag there and then put the trophy in this world
No this is a vanilla playthrough
When u crash ur boat into a small island with mist around it because the wind + Valheim decided it was time. Then you hear a horn in the distance and the clouds start moving towards you….
Can confirm seeds broken. He's not dropping below half.
Eff this I'll just kill him in a different server.
He won't eventually path to my base will he?
Wait- can I start other boss fights with one still active or will Yag despawn eventually?
you can spawn multiple bosses from the same altar, so it doesn’t matter if one is alive already
Is there a way to soft reset the server, keeping my buildings and such but maybe restarting his boss fight?
Probably easier to delete him using admin commands?
stand near him and use the command forcedelete 10 goblinking
that won’t kill him so you won’t get drops or enable new raids
Yeah, that ^
Dope. I'll try this, I think there's a combination of factors going on to make this fight way harder than it should be.
If I can at least reset Yag I can probably kill him then figure out what's going on with the rest of the issues--
I've got over 800 hrs and this all feels extremely "off" compared to the last time.
Something I am suspecting is that repeatedly moving saves between deck and PC may have caused an issue?
i don’t think i’ve seen someone with this issue before 🤔
I think I've just scrambled the maths system, somehow.
Either repeated portal hops, file transfers and just refusing to quit and thus turning several miles of plains into nothing but scorch marks may have just been a bit too much??
I don't know enough about how the game works to sus out what I've actually done.
both a king and a wizard 🤔
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Runestone
ashlands runestone spoiler
||When the King of the Emerald Flame flew away to visit the wizard king of the Fulings, his own thegns rose against him and torched the palace with the Winter Child inside.||

just to be clear, the new test is just the new save system?
As written in the ptb patchnotes, yes
Then maybe, the main difference for average player should just be faster save times.
This is a standard practice for many games these days, it is likely that Iron Gate is into an optimizing phase of development for 1.0, and retroactively added this feature to an older version for stress testing. I would also remind that #valheim-public-test is the channel to discuss such things, as not all players wish to be spoiled on future updates.
do we have an ETA for when Deep North and 1.0 will release?
No dates announced yet.
I actually spat my drink when I saw the ping in the servers icon 😭
Had to clean my phone
My hear just raced looking at the ptb notification
Is fenris armor still good in mistlands like i have seen reddit talk about it and thought in the biome of pig cliffs speed boost is great
Not all of us are in the ptb, and don’t want to hear about ptb things
beat reto without losing any skill(i started the first encounter with no skill drain)
What’s a ptb?
Dunno what pig cliffs are, but I only play with light armours and fenris is one of my fav.
Public test branch
Pretty good, gonna take semi-heavy damage though.
A lot of people like mixing armor. Maybe just a pair of fenris legs, or legs and chest, and then a heavy armor helmet
i dreamt i went sailing to bog witch but didn't bring the materials necessary for a portal
Spontaneous no-portals playthrough
lol once i get home i need to show this place where the bogwitch spawned
the island is enormous
and has a really long straight beach with a leviathan so close to land you can even build on it
have you considered loading a backup?
No, I didn't know this was an option.
I ended up just killing him in a different file for the progression.
Used chrom and bonfire method with meades and padded armor
what method is that?
Made 4x bonfires with one under his pedestal as a retreat option, mainly used them to keep my stamina Regen up but also by walking the big man over them.
Chroms the great sword you get in the mistlands, I used it last time to kill him as well
Morgen gjall
Wait I used frostner last time.
Been like a year since I went to my old file I can't even remember why I have chrom
just letting you know for the future 💗 backups are bae especially if they're manual copies of your valheim folder
If you dont like it why are you here? 😄
Omg life saver- I'll definitely be keeping backups for my unarmed unarmored run
Good 😄
i mean yeah
🤔
how do you know whether asatru mods valheim or not?
When did i do that? 😄
do you play vanilla?
just know manual backups work a lot better with local world and character saves. i've never tried to make a manual backup of cloud stored content
Heh, vanilla 😄
oh i guess they were right you dont mod
Seems like they are just lashing out to lash out.
Real silly question, was freezing damage nerfed hard?
Afaik no nerf for it.
Yeah, i know 😄
Huh. Maybe the food I'm eating is the difference then...
Or what you’re wearing?
Then again it's been ages since I played from the beginning, so maybe I'm just remembering it way more cruel. I was doing a nude run lol
Do you have the wet debuff? I'm fairly sure that it makes the ice hurt a smidge more
Oh maybe I've had that in the past.
Wet debuff makes you weak to frost.
hey! do we have any dates when valheim will be 1.0.0?
And ice hits hard on a naked run
But yeah I was surprised I could just pretty much just walk across half the mountain and get my stuff no issue
Not yet
any approximations?
Eh sometime
Nothing
When did they claim they were?
Tomorrow tomorrow your only a day away.
Don't entertain this lol
Official info is "when it is ready".
I am though, you're free to speak your mind on the game, no need to attack others who disagree with you
But I wanna argue lmao 😂
Pffft get a room 🤣
Yeah that's not helping anything
Maybe have that grey dwarf sit in the corner kicking his legs
Fiiiine lmao
Deep north will drop when it drops, this sentiment has been the same since 2021, it'll be ready when it is.
We jumped back on the game after we managed to get our friend a gaming laptop finally, and it's been so much more fun as a trio xD
My group was trio too, we played one playthrough recently and it was fun lol.
A lot more crazy random shit, and definitely a bit easier when dealing with hordes of enemies
man I should get a gaming laptop soon(tm)
I think my potato can't take it anymore but I wanna valheim
Partner is on Mac (boooo) but waiting and hoping to get a steam machine XD
So glad there's Mac support tho, and crossplay available
how recent was Mac support btw? Or was it there from the start
Not sure but I don't think it's been around that long
I am going to the swamp does anyone want anything?
Ah yeah some yummy rotting entrails
June 10th 2024 came Mac support 😄
So pretty much yesterday
i cant wait for maypole season
Wheeee it's all skewed, it's getting winter here
gets thwomped by an abomination as soon as I step in
Yup. Our ole' friend. The abomination.
"It's been dead so long it started living again."
Sounds like some teenager rooms. 😄
Hahahahaha I definitely know one or two that fit that description
Well I had to pee and the tree man just didn't appreciate it 🤷♂️
Surprised he could tell, the constant pouring rain doesn't seem to bother them
......I will not comment.
😄
Wait the apple right?
THE APPLE RIGHT??
I mean he loves his Mac too but yeah I just don't
Apple Macintosh. Yes, that one.
Well, as long as WE like it, everyone's good, right? Right? ;D
I like (eating) apple
They're healthy.
I've got heavy issues with the company ngl.
Their art programs are really good though imho
something about apples scares doctor away
I dunno norse magic
Well, ALL major big multibillion dollar companies are shady as f***
Apple's no distinction there, I guess.
Truuuuuuu
Well. Since he's playing valheim with me again it's fine. But there's definitely a few issues I got with his Mac. Not least it zapping me anytime I touched his arm
😄
Have you tried appeasing the machine spirit?
just made a portal named "forgor"
it's for when i forger my other portal's name
Well... In this case it's a nonexistent grounding pin.
They do sell it separately for 60$ after charging 8k for the Mac itself.
To shreds you say
Nah just not included.
Somewhere there is a mosquito outside my plains base forming some oceans 11 ass plan to break into my house through the chimney and die in my fireplace.
I can hear em
They're planning a coup.
Quickly, the mosquitos are plotting a military junta to acquire my blood bags.
Toss the bloodbags out the window to distract them so you can stage a military assault.
Pffft mossie kamikazes
Your right. I should give the dwarves Mosins.
Aight sleep time for me, night
I am the lorax I speak for the trees.
The trees are speaking vietnamese
based ms paint furry
vietnam is a cool place but that's offtopic
Honestly- I know the games Norse specific but veitnam is a genuinely beautiful place and having that as a modded biome would be hella dope imho.
maybe i should move there
i don't mind being poor and i too love nature
i love wasps and i'm not a furry either, you're right
Speaking of, I found a massive one earlier today. Some kind of wood wasp. Size of my thumb
talking about a dirt dobber?
sounds like a queen
queens are usually umungous
Had to scootch her some but she was polite enough to only bite me once.
Didn't wanna step on her.
I have a thing about killing.
I don't unless I plan to eat it or it planned to eat me
My wrath is for those who earn it.
And people who insist on going 40 on the highway
It was a queen horntail wasp.
Guess she bit me cause they actually can't sting
Personally I can't wait for June bugs. They get so angy when you pick em up.
very handsome wasps
Yee
So is it just wasps for ya or is it bugs?
For me it's just critters in general. Had an Arkansas orb weaver functioning as a window at my grandpa's place. In his words it was "someone to talk with while I poop, she also keeps the pests out"
i like spiders
I'm in partial to spiders but I do have a couple of house spiders that I allowed to stay in my cactus.
My girlfriend hates them, but my neighbors have roaches and I don't so who's winning?
something funny is
i don't like honeybees that much
i prefer bumble and carpenter bees
they're fluffier and native to my land and friendlier
i'm ambivalent about honeybees
Thinking of this, a funny idea would be Big spider in some rare dungeons in Black Forest
the day i stopped being arachnophobic was the day i saw a centipede in my shower
the world has bigger problems than a mere 8 legs on a bug
100 is much worse
astronomically
A horse sized trapdoor spider actually operating like an ambush predator would be DEVASTATING. Imagine just watching your buddy get yoinked down a hallway and a door slams shut.
How ya explain that to the rest of the village lmao
Went to Hawaii to visit some folks once. Centipede the size of a babys arm was just... Horrifying.
I think the only animal I really have a problem with on principle has got to be a mountain lion, that's because I was personally hunted by one on two separate occasions.
Other than that like animals are super easy compared to people
you lost me a bit there
people are my favorite animal 🥲
They're my least favorite but I tend to run into the really bad ones...
But that's why I'm here participating in chat-- to meet new ones that aren't bad
too bad
'cause I'm bad, man
Mission failed, well get em next time
I wish that there were more traps.
Like maybe snares or bear traps or heck even fire pots.
Just give me the tools to turn the Black Forest into the DMZ
there are traps?
How do I use them
They are buildable and require material crafted during Mistlands.
Wait I thought we only had Spike walls?
And the puffer fish technique
Spikes yeah, but proper trap later.
seems nice to live down there until you meet the bug population 😆
If you slap a pufferfish on an item stand it occasionally deals poison to enemies.
I've also used smoke but that requires a lot of setup
Yeah but the geckos were cute
the cute amphibians make up for the nasty bugs dont they lol
FINALLY someone who agrees humans are the best animals
also a bonus when they act as pest control
mine as well cuz personhood and junk
humans have plenty of problems but i believe in their redeeming value
human potentiality as well
They really do
I kind of don't but that's only because I have a track record of running into some of the genuinely worst examples of our species.
Tonight's example was I caught a guy shitting in our pool at work.
🤢
I mean, humans are fun. And a lot of reason for it to be our favorite kind :
- First, I am human, and I like myself.
- Second, I can discuss with a human, a great plus if you want to vent to someone
- Third, humanity invented Internet, games, planes, and may we have soon space travel
- Etc etc etc
i have a lot of patience for people
(The first point being the most important one)
I mean, it's just common sens to like our kind first 🤣
Valid, but I'd genuinely rather be a tree.
No thoughts, no problems, just photosynthesis
Humans are interesting creatures.
But im not good at dealing with them :/
i'll admit sometimes i'm sad i'm not grains of sand on a beach
i gave up wanting to be a different person now i want to be inanimate
Did u see the rocks we found in the middle of no where a million miles away that we cant mine its sick
Brb cheeseburger
We don't know, I mean, trees are fascinating 'cause we can't even comprehend their way of life, like, do they think ? How do they think ? How do they feel....
We have a gist of the process in animals and insects since they are "like us" in a way, but we don't have any ground to start with with trees, and other flora kind
see the thing that makes sick a word meaning cool is why i like people
"these are the sins i died for" from jesus kind of moments
There are trees older than 2026
You could have been a wanderful Motherboard (Since silicate used for it's fabrication is from sand 😇 )
Coming soon
They can feel up down left and right with little fluid-filled cavities set aside for specifically this purpose-
Trees aren't really a plant so much as a evolutionary body plan so there is a lot of wiggle room here.
For example palm trees and bamboo are straight up a member of the grass family.
i used to think oil was computer stuff from ancient ancient nonhuman people
Yes, but i mean, all plants are out of reach for us to comprehend in an empathic way
Speaking of plants my bell peppers have finally sprouted so it's time to put them in dirt
That's part of the mystery in the world
Wait till their cootie lemons drops
plants do feel and i personally believe they can scream
But yeah, you are right for the fun fact about palm trees and bamboos, the grass pretending to be trees
Banana
"i'm the giant grass that makes all of the rules"
With respect I got to disagree, only in the last 10 years though have we started down this path-- s it's not exactly mainstream science yet, but a lot of plants seem to be able to communicate through fungal colonies and chemical sensors.
This is kind of one of my 'tism things.
I wouldn't say plants have complex thoughts or feelings about the state of the world but they can definitely tell when they're being stepped on cut down or attacked.
They do, we proved it i think, we even proved that they can be "hurt" and feel physical pain, we even have poofs that they can trade with champignons.
It's like a whole rabbit hole and I can send you some links if you're interested 😊
Ofc I am
The biggest example of chemical sensory is whenever you mow the lawn-- that smell you're getting is the grasses specific way of communicating to wasps that like to Target grass eating aphids
https://youtu.be/xEQJ0byHMXw?si=wbA2C4aSVHM60P1P
I like to binge watch these guys instead of normal hobbies
Youre anthropomorphizing chemistry
as much as i love wasps this sounds like a good reason to tell people not to have lawns - less wasps 😊
They have a sister channel, animal logic, which focuses more on animals obviously but you know it's all very well researched
My line of delineation was complex thought.
I am specifically avoiding anthropomorphizing the plant.
Multiple species of plant can react to the environment around them-- notably in the link I provided.
But no the plant isn't going to be pondering its own existence.
Eloquently redundant
there was a doctor who episode about a forest of trees capable of thinking very slowly
day 777

Me smelling fresh grass smell.
With respect, not really?
One of these things requires basic input output.
For example flowers closing up at night because they can tell what time it is. No thinking required.
The other one of these is complex thought...which requires neurons. Like a lot of them.
They can not tell what time it is....
There are hormones and chemicals that react to light
They also know which way gravity is
Or if they are touching something
Yes?
This is how they "know" when to close
My trees speak to me
Again, anthropomorphizing
You are arguing semantics in circles.
I have drawn a line of delineation a very clear one that is hard to misunderstand.
Plants are capable of reacting to their environment and storing basic information.
for example which way is up.
You are completely inventing me anthropomorphizing them further than that 🤷♂️
Friendly reminder, this is Valheim chat. You can continue in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202174832729661470
👍
I resign from the psuedoscience
I mean, we are too chemistry
When stressed, we produce Cortisol and Adrenaline
When attached to something, we produce Occytocine and dopamin
When hurt, we produce homocysteine and other things...
The real point I agree with you, is that we absolutely do not see the world the same way as other life forms
and I cannot even comprehend life from a plant point of view
That's probably a good choice.
It's not pseudoscience it's very heavily documented you can just go read this shit.
I am moving to general
Response in general.
I've got 10 minutes before I go pass out
Lmao getting a ping from public test and almost having a heart attack just for it to be a save system change(although they do sound like awesome changes)
Why the hell are people arguing about plants thats stupid
how do I get into public test? 👀
Right click to Properties. Enter code ||yesimadebackups|| there.
nice code 🤭
Reminds making backups of your saves in case problems appear.
do we know if there will be continued dev work post 1.0?
im assuming yes but i realize now that may be a bit much to presume lol
Bug fixes, performance improvements, possible minor content.
Does the group finder just not work?
Looks like it is working to me, are you unable to post there?
No just no one ever responds is it just me or something ?
I make one every like 7 or 8 hours but that doesn't help
Looks like someone is typing in your post at this very second 🤔
caved and made a blackmetal sword
silver one just wasn't "cutting it" for the seekers
I actually loled at that
dad jokes
Mistlands When?
i was just watching the old biome release vids lol
am i crazy or did the mistlands have like spider webs in their prerendered era?
They did
so im eating raspberry honey and cooked deer using a bronze buckler and i can parry a fuling thats op
That's... pretty awesome. What's your armor?
"A bronze buckler"
(in reply to electricdawn)
what i think subject means is that parrying is irrespective of armor
Oh... I think somebody (Subject?) mentioned that previously.
can somebody explain valheim a bit to me
like is it just one world like the forest or are there different seeds etc
It's randomly generated per seed.
And there are a multitude of biomes.
You start out in the Meadows. You will discover other biomes later.
Every biome has a boss that needs to be conquered.
is it good to build your base in the meadows?
Absolutely.
and do torches or fires stay eternal or do you need to make it again
You can have as many bases as you want. You need to refuel.
oh alright, and the combat
Stay out of harms way. 😄
i saw it and i saw like fire shooting sticks
i dont know it looked like a stick with black wind or something on it
Yes, that will come MUCH later in the game.
and can the bosses or mobs break your base, and if so is there an option to stop that
Don't worry about it now. Just play and enjoy discovering everything for the first time.
Yes, you will get raided. Not by bosses.
troll lvl 3
oh alright, and last question, can you make small bases underground?
Nope.
Only if you make a hole in a rock big enough... and... there's one more option. You need to find that one. 😉
oh ok, thanks a lot
You're welcome. Have fun!
And one more tip: Do NOT rush.
Take your time. Enjoy the sights.
And always be VERY well prepared.
lol just found a leviathan with 2 groupers and 2 coral cods on it, YOINK
Nice. Chitin and fish as a bonus.
You can turn raids off, but you CAN'T stop mobs from damaging your base.
oh, can they break like stone walls?
Absolutely. 😄
You need to protect your base.
A lot of people swear on earthen walls, which are (mostly) indestructible, but look ugly.
But usually, you build a perimeter wall, and then defend it with stakes.
You will still have to repair stuff every once in a while.
earthen walls, is that like dirt? because earthen, earth, you know
Yup.
Dirt dirt
have you made a hoe yet?
If you make your base in the Meadows and you turn raids off, you rarely need to bother about base damage.
i'm thinking about buying the game because it looks fun, but i wanted to know how the game is
oh alright, i'l do that
If you have raids ON on the other hand... your base might get smashed to pieces.
The game is VERY addictive, if you're in for some massive time sinks, like foraging, mining, cultivating, animal raising, crafting, building and exploring and the like.
Combat is part of the game, but it's not the major aspect.
game is beyond worth what they charge for it even if you play through it once and never again
Best game I've ever bought. Period.
Best to play it with friend, for some people solo can be quite boring
Love it. It's entertaining and can be as challenging as you set it up to be.
@strange cradle I agree!
sadly no one of my friends has it, but i love building bases and i heard that building is in depht in this game
It is, with my friend we spent about 4 months building our castle
If it's your server, you can build whatever, wherever you like, as many castles as you want. Awesome game for building, manipulating the terrain. It's great!
I got a question. Why doesn't the hoe stamina usage decrease with, say, the gardening skill. Its ridiculous how much stamina it uses to try to just flatten ground. And as far as I can tell the usage never goes down
it is, what some purely builders do is insane. also just for normal play theres an interesting stability feature like you have to brace walls/roofs with stronger wood or metals to build higher. there's a comfort system that increases a rested buff so building extra furnitures or doodads in your base has a purpose, etc
do gjalls spawn more often in rain or something?
Nope.
What kinda armor are you supposed to have going into the mist lands
Either padded or vile 🙂 tho plenty people rock fenris or some combo with root harnesk
Padded or vilebone or fenris
Root harnesk will be very OP in mistlands cuz it'll halve seekers damage
But make sure you have fire resistance wine with you
-# Well, it will halve the dmg from most of their attacks 😄 some do blunt
Hm. Is carpace armor what you get from mistlands? Been a hot minute since I played. I have maxed out carpace armor yet I still get absolutely doodooed on there
Yep, that you get from seekers materials 🙂
Bruh then how do I get almost one shot using that armor fighting the soldiers lol. Have they like made it to where certain armors are better going against certain mobs?
Nah soldiers just do lots of damage
That’s with like 200 health btw
What food are you eating
And what difficulty are you on?
Also pretty much every biomes has an enemy that'll 2 shot you if you don't block or dodge
Normal, and not sure the exact food , im not playing rn just reminiscing what happened to me lol. Died like 4 times trynna fight one soldier. All I know is im stamina based all the time no matter what. Whatever im eating gives me around 230 stamina and around 200 health
So seeker soldiers aren't that crazy. Trolls and abominations and stone golems etc will also do most of your health
Ohhhhhhhhhh ok that clears everything up then. I wasn’t considering the soldier to be equivalent to a troll and other big mobs
Well, soldiers are more of an equivalent of greydwarf brutes, draugr elites etc 😄
The flying friends are troll/abom equivalents
i'd put them both with trolls
I stopped playing when mistlands first came out and I didn’t do much exploring in the mistlands. People I played with at the time did all that grinding, eventually split off so I used everything they gathered for my armor lol
I’d say that’s backwards, the flying dudes are easy to kill. It’s the damn soldiers I struggle with. Their animations aren’t easy to learn, and it’s super easy to literally take a couple steps away from that flying things shots
Yeah I'd say soldier and gjalls are both troll type enemies. Like how black forest has trolls and bears
-# I go mostly of their ID for this 😄 i agree they do hit quite a bit stronger compared to the normal biome enemies than brutes or elites do, at least by feeling alone, didnt compare values.
Ik I can google it but im bored so whatever, what’s the order after mistlands, idek how many biomes they’ve added since I’ve last played
there's only one biome past mistlands for now
Ashlands and then Deep North 😄 which is still being worked on
Deep north is pretty far into development though. We don't have any official time frame but I'm sure it won't be too long
I think it'll come out this year, but don't rely on that info lol.
We really dont have any way to estimate how long it might take tho... 😅
So everything is just speculation ofc 😄
Yeah but based on normal update schedule and dev teasers I think this year or early next year sounds fair
Is ashlands where you get that marble looking building material? It’s grey and that’s all I remember about it
And it's coming to Playstation this year, and Playstation doesn't normally allow early access games
Fuckkkkkkkk. I wanna build with that so bad. That so many hours of gameplay before I get there lol. I’m only fr playing on a newish server I just joined and we’re barely in bronze 😪
What normal update schedule? 😄 Iron gate doesent really have any, they simply take as much time as they need to make a great piece work.
Just the average time between updates
Yk what they need to add desperately that I’ve been crying I wish I had everytime I build something? Some damn wooden spiral stairs
You played mistlands?
Troll/bear equivalents.
honestly black forest is one of the most unique biomes
1 star soldier scared the shit outta me... then i ran into gjall
do you remain alive?
no bug dens so far 😭... and i lost my boat on the journy over lol
ye we survived
ultimately that's what matters i guess
what's your plan for the boat home?
i think i'm just gonna ditch that island and make a new boat
all i need is 5 black metal bars to make the extractor i think
I did run into two dverger towers but it was like 4 mages each, decided i didnt wanna engage them
letting the bugs kill them is fun
fighting them... the horrors
September 16th 2021 - H&H
March 1st 2022 - Frost Caves
December 6th 2022 - Mistlands
August 19th 2023 - Hildir's Request
May 14th 2024 - Ashlands
October 29th 2024 - The Bog Witch
September 9th 2025 - Call to Arms
So 6, 9, 8, 9, 5 and 11 month gaps between individual "big" updates.
Or 22 months beween EA release and Mistlands and 17 months between Mistlands and Ashlands. And so far we are 24 months into Ashalnds --> DN gap. 🙂
I by no means want to say you cant be right, i myself am also betting on this year, but there simply isnt really a "normal update schedule" to speak of 😄
i figure i gotta wait till i find cores anyway so theres no need to rush too fast for the extractors
I just had the pleasure of running a bear into an abomination. The bear and I took it down. with bronze gear those things are tough!
funny the abomination won my last witnessed event like that lol
definitely two hp giants slappin each other with noodles for 5 minutes
dang third time the big man has come to check in on me while hunting viles
yall were not kidding, this vile set is quite difficult to finish
i reckon the deep north and 1.0 is a lot closer than yall think
Some day we will find out, right? 😉
just gotta pretend nothing is happening and one day be happy
Exactly. One day the bees will be happy.
I think abomination would have won but I was not taking chances and was attacking abomination. Bear only had one hit left when abomination was killed.
I've watched a lox vs a bear, and it wasn't even a contest. The lox barely had a scratch.
Yeah but it's cheap too make. And is literally just they got the stamina
It's a neat little extra where you got nothing else
But playing unlock so many good foods
it's like it's at the bottom of a bell curve opposite wolf jerky
good stats but no hp and short
whereas wolf jerky stats aren't great but decent hp and long
if i like cheap i guess i should like it...
You can also make it before getting cauldron upgrade i believe
dat 20 min when everything else last 25 or 30 do be annoyin doe
wow i found the worst crypt. 3 dead ends lol not one scrap pile even

A few swamp foods last 20 minutes as well
yes but i've moved beyond black soup and never needed cooked fish
onion soup seems like the only 20 min mountain tier food 😕
i guess that's it.
catch me eating 2 feasts 🤙
Its a swamp tier food disguised as mountain tier
very true
Holy crap the development on this game is moving slower than snails pace....
I’m looking for a mod that makes bows hitscan rather than having the massive drop off. Also, any mod to increase pickup range? Thanks
It’s certainly not especially quick, but it’s worth the wait
finally found one of the cute dockside dverger houses.... had to kill em - sap extractor obtained!
i really wanna build here though, it's cozy as hell
Is it though? Its been like 2 years since a meaningful content update.
so what? What are you missing? it's basically a complete game as it sits. they are simply releasing DLC's at this point.
If you want more, and aren't having fun, put it down for a while. There's so many games out there right now, come back in 1-2 years and enjoy new content.
The game is not finished. There is no definitive end with an entirely incomplete biome in the game.
idk if they're releasing dlcs but i'm excited to play Grounded after beating valheim
Sorry not sorry, but this is just a shit-take.
Like, it's labelled early access. Always has been. I'd rather they take their time and give me content to come back to when they do release. I'll never understand why people get uppity about development times.
Is it a complete game or early access? Make up your mind
Reading comprehension is difficult for you, i understand your confusion now.
"so what? What are you missing? it's basically a complete game as it sits." followed by "Like, it's labelled early access."
I said basically a complete game, because it is... basically. You're simply waiting for new content. Everything in the game is functional and working, there just no stuff in a biome that you don't really need to worry about until it is release.
yusomad?
you're sooooo close to understanding what "basically a complete game" means. You'll get it. I have faith in you.
anyways, you're boring and entitled. bye bye
Theres no reason it should take 2 years to develop 1 biome.
I actually see mod developers put out more meaningful content in less time than that.
My b
Are you a dev?
No. And please dont try to make an appeal to to authority argument. It's ignorant and lazy.
Okay just wanted to check context. What’s an authority argument?
An appeal to authority (argumentum ad verecundiam) is a fallacy claiming a statement is true solely because an authority figure said it, rather than based on evidence. It becomes a fallacy when the expert lacks proper qualifications, the field is irrelevant, or there is no expert consensus.
Basically you think I can't have a correct opinion because I'm not a game dev.
Nice of you to post the definition by which your original statement is a fallacy 😄
Where did I make a claim to authority?
Ah, I am mistaken. Appeal to authority doesn't fit this situation.
It's actually just an ad hominem attack.
Whoa attack, ok this is ramping up and I was merely curious. I’m now stepping out of this, nice to briefly speak with you Ace.
Attack doesn't necessitate violence. It's just an attempt to discredit me because I'm not a game developer therefore cant have an opinion on the development of a game.
hang on i forgot my logical fallacy flashcards!
anyone knows a way to check out the names of portals, which are inactive on a specific world? getting back to an old save of mine and simply forgot what they were called, yet i know they exist in specific parts
if you click on them it displays their tag
good luck getting around tho
always make signs for the names of important portals
i usually have a wall of forgetfulness
sometimes I’ll put signs in the middle of everything to remind me of what my main task is
i lowkey just rawdogged it and kept a list of them in my head, in retrospect not a good idea ;p
i feel this. my trick back when i used portals and maps is make a little map legend in the corner of the world with the dot markers and name them names of portals
i just played on a world like not that long ago and i forget all of them lol. luckily theyre only ashlands portals and i could just run to them.
do you not name them when you put the map points down?
i call it my “to-do list” lol whenever i log out
depends on the world i guess. several worlds have only ashlands portals and no map because i allow myself portals for ashlands only but still no map
ah ok. makes sense for nomap worlds. Signs are it then, or having a portal hub and keeping them linked.
I have a world with 3 friends and we agreed to use the "house" map icon with the text being the portal name on the map. So we can all look them up whenever we need to. We also tend to follow a pattern of "biome #" such as "BF 1", "BF 2", "Ash 1", etc.
almost back to base with 2 extractors i think
🙏
we did it! man mapless is so funny. i recognized the 3 stone pillars in my nearby plains 😂
yup lol, i remember shapes of mountain ranges too
i got super lost cause i thought what i saw was something i walking around before
small patch of plains before mistland with a mountain behind it and one stone pillar
i didnt think i was that far so i assumed it was my island
it wasnt but the help of looking to the skies got me back
now for the actually hard part of finding the black cores 😭
I'm just barely into bronze and finally got my ship built. The new ship feels fast, but slow to turn. -_-
which ship, the Karve?
That's the one.
Funny, it's amazingly maneuverable, especially under sail.
lol I couldn't figure out where all this flax and barley came from
...I tripled the drop rate because I was sick of clearing out crypts for iron for a while
sets it back
Trying my hand at taming boars.
I am somewhat surprised I havent found a bug den yet
I guess mistlands are going to take a loooong time anyway though
They have dens..?
idk what they’re actually called
I haven’t truly played ValHeim yet. Have I?
crypt -> water crypt -> ice cave -> villages -> bug dens -> morgen den/forts
I don’t know what a water crypt, bug den, or morgen den is.
Either I never really explored, or I’m confused on what they actually are.
Burial Chambers, Sunken Crypt, Frost Cave, Infested Mine, Putrid Hole
and Fuling Villages. Although they're not classed as a "dungeon" but rather a PoI
Putrid Hole sounds familiar, I don’t know about infested mines. What biome are they in?
IM's are mistlands
With the giant stairs?
Mistlands. You would have needed black cores from them to progress
Potentially, yes
If you're thinking giant stairs it sounds like you're referencing the queen's citadel
Oh, right.
oh nvm, there is that type of IM - I forgot
Oh, right.
Indeed it is lol
3 Jagged rocks and stairs leading up to the entrance
or you can have a circular structure with stairs leading down in a spiral formation to the entrance
I remember those.
They didn’t lead anywhere.
some do, some don't
Okay.
I haven’t played in over a year, lol. You guys are fighting a lost cause on ValHeim knowledge I guess, lol.
you're all good lol- my local terms for places in game is not exactly universal
Keep in mind, Infested Mine enemies will respawn every 4 hours. As will the "food source"
Figured this out myself tryna just collect some royal jelly 😂
Nice that the other dungeons don't as far as I know
but it makes sense bc there are eggs you can't destroy
hmm? I've been able to destroy all the eggs I come across? unless you mean the ceiling ones
in which case use ranged weapons
Huh, there are usually like 1-2 eggs on the ground that my sword could never damage when I sliced through the rest of the pile
Axes or spears/bows will help. Basically with ranged attack or a "Downwards attack" style
food source?
||Royal Jelly||
ah
damn I thought they will be spawn-free after a clearing
that being said in my last run we had soooooooo many seeker meat and caparace
while hare meat is nowhere to be found cough cough
yo so funny question, disclaimer idk all the lore but just a funny theory. Are the regular animals you find in the meadows also in valheim/viking purgatory with you? Like if the induvidual animals did something so bad in midgard they had to be imported to valheim by the gods? They explode into purple particle effects when they die, thats not what living animals do in midgard when they die lol, if its true that valheim is for beings seeking valhalla including the animals, what in the ashlands(hell) do the deer have to do to be worthy? Are all the boars we’ve hunted sinners from midgard??? lmao
A Lox in its past life stole ONE CLOUDBERRY and went to yagluth’s fallen kingdom as punishment lmfao
Valheim isn't purgatory, there are native species, as well as influence from other realms.
If you don't mind spoilers then there is a lore youtube video thats done very well by Embr and it explains much.
Somehow I didn't pay much interest to the lore of Valheim until watching that video just now.

ofc I knew a fair bit already but the video helps
just watched that now, yea it explains that most of the creatures in valheim (midgard animals, trolls, humanoids) made it to valheim through secret routes n stuff over time, but it mostly explains the ashlands lore really
checked it out, whiplash from how "fader" is pronounced
Cool I'm happy it sparked your interest a bit
True
Say "Vader" for me 😄
For anyone interested:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN5Dzv4EKAo
Before making this video, I hadn't really paid much attention to the runestones scattered throughout Valheim - but I've really enjoyed learning all about the game's lore!
My Valheim Guides! 👉 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLW0GNhVC8pMQ2RKW5YFs6ElABpkngEDcA
Piecing all of the bits of lore together gave me lots of ideas about how the...
she's saying fae-der, should be more like fah-der
cant wait for when we finally beat the winter child and the player immediately goes into a raid event that brings jomugander to your base
Nobody asks about the Summer Child 😢
still haven't found any of these winter child runestones. Only a couple Ashlands ones so far
wait I pronounce it as fae-duh 😭
Pronunciation for "Fader" is similar to "father", it literally translates to that from Swedish.
are the two bosses married or sth
Well, probably not in OUR sense.
and we'll see the result
😰
The "a" in Fader is really more pronounced like the German "a", rather than the English "a", which is more like "ä". Or, of course, the Swedish "a", which it actually is. 😄
A is like "uh..."
I don't know about this...
I'm just putting it in pronounciation terms 😄
cos saying A is like A in text doesn't help a whole lot
"Uh" is... not like the German "A". Maybe like the Swedish? I don't know.
I’m from Denmark and know how to say Fader, but I still default to the more English version of it. Same for moder
Really? It just sounds so off to me... Moudör Fädör. Ok, that is an exaggeration. 😄
what exactly is the iron equivalent of the early axes weapon?
trying to keep to axes as much as possible. Consulting the wiki hasn't helped me decide
there's both a one and two hand axe
Iron axe and battleaxe ye?
Battleaxe is more suited for combat IMO.
hmm. So Iron axe + iron buckler - sounds like a plan
now Joel has thrown me off 😄
I've always done bows/sword playthroughs hence my questions
battle axe is very fun
One handed axes are kinda meh imo
I prefer 2 handed ones
I never got into them.
The only thing about the battle axe which I could assume when using is you have to learn how/when it attacks and how other enemies attacks affect the player
special attack stun lock invidual enemies is so funny
The battle axe is just way too slow for me, and I'm already slow. So adding two slows is one dead viking.
Yeah gotta space well with the axe due to low movement speed and long windup
But the stab for staggering bigger enemies is very nice too
I do prefer fist weapons for my stagger needs though. More flexible
Hmm, no harm in trying the battleaxe first. If I don't like it I can just obtain more iron
never enough iron anyway
and if youve never tried battle axe then that's a good time to do so
Atgeir is more my thing, since it can stun and is fast.
Stamina requirements are huge, though.
oh and that, I've done a few atgeir playthroughs before
First swing windup in battleaxes is slower, which might take some use for it.
Atgeir is probably the best stagger weapon, just not for me because it doesn’t really leave anything up to skill, and then it just gets unengaging to me
At some point I'll try magic but I don't think that's this playthrough
Primary attacks of battleaxes have quite wide arc with 1,5x stagger multiplier and no mtp, so it's very well suited against groups of enemies. Secondary is swift and also has higher stagger (4x but effectively 2x due to half damage it deals) plus high knockback, which helps with crowd control.
No harm in keeping early axes on the player as well with a battleaxe
When I played atgeir on HHS I didn’t find stamina management to be very important. Just wait a moment between each spin, and walk away from the enemy if you really do need another couple seconds of regen
I kept Early axes quite long in my latest playthrough.
I know either you or larsi said until mistlands or so
but just trying options
I'm still likely to make maces again for bonemass
I hunted hares with them, it was quite nice.
Now what I don't understand is knife playthroughs 😄
Knives are very nice, what do you mean.
Knives are nice. Probably fall off in Ashlands though
And mountains, though you can get some cinematic drake kills with knife secondary
It is done
early axes against wolves 👀 probably my new favourite way to handle wolves
Lately I’ve been going for knife/spear/fists/sword/axe/crossbow/magic runs and it’s a lot of fun not locking myself into just one category but swapping between them
Considering throwing maces in there but ugh just can’t get myself to use them
Interesting, consulting the wiki it seems clubs/maces don't get a blackmetal variant
plains to ashlands
Porcupine
I use maces only for Bonemass and Golems.
And arguably demolisher
I like swords with golems ❤️
Abd then flametal mace
Works too with the silver sword.
defeated heaps with mistwalker or such last playthrough
Well, Mistwalker is OP anyway. 😄
I still argue that you don't need another sword in Ashlands. A lvl 4 Mistwalker will see you through including Fader.
I really want Ashlands weapons rn but alas... Not defeated bonemass on this playthrough yet
battleaxe secondary attack may be a superior tree cutting tool
super speedy
log troll spotted
Kill him. You know you want to.
good thing you got a good tree cutting tool
there is mace in plains
only mistlands dont have one
log trolls are one of my most feared enemies.
They have this ginormous reach with their... entire tree they're carrying.
Nice!
Log trolls? More like chop downthe forest trolls
They are my best buddies for mining copper and gettingcorewood
early axes when encumbered are the superior option to getting around 😄
i just parry the first attack of troll with battleaxe and then spam primary combo and it keeps him staggered
Can't do that... 😛
if u r on normal difficulty its ez pz
eh, I've got most mob timing down at this point
gotta practice.. i sucked at parrying too first
I'm too slow.
I still cant parry fist stone golems for shit
i couldnt too, but now i just can 😎
I guess I should focus on armor next 😄 - still rocking tier 3 bear armor
Bear armor is thr goat
it's actually the bear
Actually, its the tatoos, loincloth, and the bear
ooh, the first initial attack of the battle axe is horizontal meaning it doesn't break the build pieces I have for my draugr farm
You know, when I picture a battle axe user, I picture a berserker wearing heavy armor legs and nothing but tatoos on the upper body.
Maybe a horned helmet with that.
I need to try this. 😄
ooh, bee armor!
brb, suggesting that
Ok, after killing some farmed draugr I like the battle axe
"You're coming home with me"
"Your entrails make into fine sausages."
ooh speaking of, I can finally make sausages now ❤️
Just made the skull splitter and it's pretty good!!
bear armor is just better than troll armor if u combine it with bronze helmet
yea its super fun
I'll let you know that I just tested and defeated Bonemass with Early axes quite nicely.

😮
especially when u return with crystal battleaxe to Swamp for some more of iron... the spirit dmg is sweet
next step is to upgrade my workbench for hopefully t4 early axes
kinda sad it has no elemental dmg though
like mistwalker or the atgeir
Crystal battleaxe always felt odd to me. Really gonna give a stagger weapon non-stagger damage
Probably in exchange for the spirit?
and the wki says it makes you slightly more discoverable when sneaking cause of the light it emits
ya true
well but the spirit dmg is extra dmg.. it has still bigger slash dmg than the iron one.. so bigger stagger too
wisp also makes u bad at sneaking too found out xd
Player:
-# Sneaks
Wisp: "HE'S BELOW ME!!!"
id love me some lightning or frost dmg... or even poison like the 1h axe
followed by the "hey! listen!
isnt bear armor better even without bronze helmet
and the berserk buff is insanely good
frost or lightning on skull splitter would make it amazing for ashlands ngl
yeah, but i meant it armor wise
it has more armor points than troll armor
and bear trophy is annoying to get so i just usually skip it
that blueberry paint is great at deflecting enemy blows lol
true
but u take more dmg anyway with full set
No poison unless it stacks like fire/spirit and/or it's added similarly as spirit damage to some weapons.
hmm
i wonder if crystal battleaxe is not even better for ashlands
gotta do the math
It deals a hair little better damage than Skull Splittur against charred and valkyries due to their weakness to spirit.
I'm using one on a different save and it's good but have not tried to split bug skulls with it yet
cant even load the data from wiki on my phone
but i suppose spirit dmg is 1.5x and slash 0.5x against charred skellies?
They don't resist slash.
oh
Crystal battleaxe: 90 slash 30 spirit at quality 1.
Skull Splittur: 130 slash at quality 1.
Against charred and valkyries CBA deals 90 slash 45 spirit.
But also against Morgen, which resists slash, CBA would deal 45 slash 30 spirit and Splittur 65 slash (both at quality 1).
yeah... quite the issue.. so i need to carry both of them in the end 😅
until i get berserkir ones i guess
CBA is viable option like other silver weapons too, but Splittur has much higher stagger.
lot of misty adventures
oh look a puffy cloud looking thingy it looks friendly
You will train your ears a bit
petition to make gjalls rideable like ghasts in mc
happy gjall 😂
Well, you can stand on them now
that cant be called land even
nor mist
the mistlands terrain keeps making me think there's giant abominations waiting to "spawn" in
case in point

This new world seed I have been playing for the past few months has sooooo many good rivers for fishing interlocked by large ass islands
I just love to Valheim fish I suppose... heh
does anyone know if the forsaken can be immobilized by like the jade weapons?
They can.
hmm, wondering which nidhogg to make against fader
you could use a second weapon to immobilise him then use iolite for damage
imma try with just thundering first i think
which crystals are which? I have green and red but they don't come with names(?)
bloodstone(red), iolite(blue), jade(green)
blue is the best
thank youu
I really enjoy my jade crossbow that tangles enemies.
Had many a clutch bring down of valkyries through ensnaring them just long enough to get some good hits in.
Klossen and Primal axes are incredible.

not even close (2 durability left after finishing off the last 2 summoned charred)
Can players from other countries play together?
yeah
longer distance might end up having poor connections and lagging if playing togethe tho
thanks
It's very good idea.
um actually there's no bronze in the infested mines
nor any ore for that matter. Perhaps some items can drop ore if broken
I would not spoil that👀
what's to spoil?
the m i n e s
also meant to say the lights drop some
kinda sad mallets cant be used as a main weapon.. would be nice if they would have some swing (combo) attack to do more damage to a single target
Honestly, I would probably utilise them more if they did have primary attack combo.
Higher damage and slow attacks like battleaxe animation? While battleaxes could get slightly faster attacks.
-# Coindicentally I have suggested something like that earlier.
#suggestions message
u have my axe.. i mean upvote
hehe, just incidentally found the bog witch
what happens when multiple players activate different forsaken powers
I never notice, feel like I should have... Do we all get different buffs
anybody know - we get some...u know...armor slots in future?
id give anything to have some extra slots in Inventory ngl 😅
There have been some talks of how they could be implemented if they will be, but no guarantees.
definitely dont like the bag mod.. looks silly imo
All players get all the buffs when activated close to each other.
like some modern scout and not a fantasy viking
agreed, personaly i just dont wanna install some mod for valheim for just armor slots or backpacks or something - coz that thing need to be in game wen its out in steam, idk
100% i dont see how armor equipped takes up inventory space 😂
stamina management is even more important with yaxes
i literaly go in valheim for take some pic for u, but i cant send it. but its like 6 slots in inventory for our stuff, like artefact, cape, headgear, body, legs, and dont forget about belt...instead of my full slots i can bring more, idk, resources for exmpl from raid. on 6 slots more that i can do now.
its not a big problem ofc, but anoing a little.
what are you gonna do with the seeds?
Plant them
i plan to have only oaks on me island
will only take me a century to collect the seeds
Soooo... I tried the BM battle axe, padded armor, HFF (lox pie, plains feast, mountains feast - an insanely good combo) in an infested mine in the Mistlands.
Let's put it that way... I did not die. But I needed the BM sword/shield combo to see me through against a soldier. The battle axe is actually pretty good against multiple opponents, but the long wind up makes it currently unusable to me against hard hitting tough opponents like the soldier.
I had some memorable moments fighting a horde of fuling (and almost died there), but I somehow got through.
I'm no believer, in no shape or form, but I can see the utility of the battle axe, even though it will probably be not for me.
#screenshots message
Me, imagining the true battle axe berserker.
at least you tried 🫂
battleaxe is a genuinely difficult weapon to use
It is. You have to time that long winded wind up really well to be most effective with it. During which you are completely vulnerable.
if you want to try more weapons might i recommend iron sledge/demolisher/stagbreaker
very simple and helpful
Yeah... never went that way. I might give it a go.
I just need my weapon to be very fast. Because I'm so old and slow. 😄
Knives and spears are fast.
Yup, love knives, hate spears.
sledges aren't fast but they're much easier to use and if you're doing it in the right situation you won't need to use them that long anyway
not worth maining but helpful to have in your pocket
just don't use them near your house 🤭
Yeah, I never needed them in crypts, and beyond that, in mines, but I might give it a try.
Oh, I know. 😄
crypts are tricky cuz sledges only aoe and that aoe can damage already fragile chests
you’re right, a different weapon is way better for seeker soldiers. i always have a spear with me
I never got the love for spears. Really.
i havent tried sledges in crypts yet
I WANT to love them, but it never clicked.
i've stuck to sword and mace
Why would you voluntarily WANT to lose your main weapon?
stagbreaker was fun in burials tho
Once you get the throws down its amazing
And then lose it when you need it most.
you 100% need to learn to jump and swing if you want to use battleaxe in sticky situations, jump away from the charging horde then swing is sometimes all you can do
why throw when you can bow
dont lose it. its not only to throw long distances, or to throw even
i recommend trying them next playthrough, they grow nicely and i can't speak for how useful they are late game
Notwithstanding historical pause- I've never heard of anyone stabbing a charging opponent with a bow 😂
Atgeir, baby, atgeir.
Its nice to have options
i just realized
