You only really need a small farm spot right on the border to the next biome plus a portal. Really nothing big. The danger of Gjalls there is usually minimal.

And yes, players have built really nice and big bases in Mistlands.

Yeah, I'd like to see players getting a dvergr de-mister after we killed the queen. That would be cool. Doesn't need to be too strong, just so we can generate a somewhat nice area for a base.

But I've seen large, mist-free areas in Mistlands that would be perfect for a base there.

I may try my hand at building one there.

Gjalls are the only real problem, but you can at least put a shield generator up to mitigate the problem somewhat.

I'm just not very good at building large stone structures.

It happened to me both ways. My last world I was extremely lucky. Found Elder vegvisir quickly, swamp was nearby with lots of crypts (no turnips, though), found Bonemass vegvisir, found Haldor and Hildir all in quick succession.

Getting just one eitr food will enable you to cast either shield or 2 fireballs consecutively before you need to regen the eitr

Break the natural hive and it drops the queen.
Then you can build your own hive wherever.
And the ones you build you just harvest by pressing the button.

Again, in real life, it clams them even for a hive transfer. But they still wear the suit, so its still not 100% effective. 😄

i usually use dodging in games only if it's 1v1 and terrain is flat, otherwise i end up falling of the cliff or rolling into a bunch of enemies

Dodge roll makes you immune. Its why I don't use it. Far too unrealistic for my tastes.

I thought it was additive.
Like shield bonus at 2 would be 2.5, it is not.
2 becomes 3.
3.5 becomes 5.25.
Etc.
