each valheim biome has it's unique quirks
but.
most are usually far between monster encounters
while Ashlands unique quirk is the constant fighting
it's ment to be a D-day landing, warzone
medows is basicly the tutorial biome
black forrest slowly lets you use what combat skills you learned in medows and deal with both big and anoying enemies
swamps have some evil boggie men you need to deal with
also resistances starts to matter in the swamps
so you are more prepared in mountains biome
unsure what the childs game is called in english
we call it "bird, fish and in-between"
basicly a game kids play to learn how to look / search for things that isn't just infront of their noses 😄
that's what I would call the mountains where you have things far below you, and high above your head. not just straight infront of you
which is something you later need to use in plains and mistlands
Bird, Beast or Fish?
well. bird is "sky", fish means "floor" and the in-between those basicly
you hide something and the kid asks "is it bird?, fish, in between?" and you give them a clue by saying what height it is at
i never really thought about how each biome teaches/prepares you for the next biome. that's really cool game design
😉
it's all in sneaking it slowly into the players
that's why people who continiously play valheim, or restart in each update have alot easier to tackle any new content
Ah, I got it. We have something similar in spanish: "Aire, agua o tierra" (literally air, water or land)
than those who put it on the shelf, and comes back for the new stuff and just picks it up where they left off
sounds the same 🙂
I personally can't wait to finish this playthrough which is my first, and then start messing with modifiers
Mainly loot😅
you're not a coward for running away from a fight you can't win
run away. get new rested buff, eat food, grab potions, return and beat the living crap of whatever thing almost killed you

Wait, now that all this has been explained, does it mean the Deep North will be even more punishing than the Ashlands? 👀
depends on how you look at it
I enjoy deep north alot
the videos of Heivors travels are a good representation 🤔
Every new biome....except wolves. Until I could parry there was no getting away lol. I started playing like it's a souls game and it got so much easier
i feel like im gonna die the second it turns night in DN
we actually slowed down wolves after I complained 🤔
they where too fast 😄
this was a long time ago btw
I might enjoy the nights there due to ||aurora borealis|| shown in some teaser pictures.
you will... probably feel quite at home 🤔
Thank you for all the explaining 💪🏻🔥 it was nice to learn stuff about the game
np
Minus the enemy mobs.
-# Or maybe some wolves.
oh no no
those are all natural
just like home
What natural would resemble ||an elaking||?
But anyhow, can't wait to figure out if it takes the top 1 biome place over Mistlands.
I think I finally figured out how to get my boar farm to work But it's going to be really painful to get food in every once in awhile
As long as there’s a workbench or campfire or something nearby the food won’t despawn, so maybe just save up a lot of food and drop it all at once?
I need 120 more Iron so I can max out a Sledge, ugh.
I only found 3 Crypts across both of my more accessible Swamps…
The other one is a bit too close to some Plains for my liking.
crypts tend to be toward the middle of the biome. you should be fine.
The Plains are just… not quite surrounding the Swamps, but it’s rough to get there safely, XD
I have yet to need to build a boat, actually.
My Starting island is MASSIVE.
As in, I have yet to explore all of it, but it’s at least 1/3 of the height of my world tall.
The very top is Plains, so I don’t know how much more tall it is, though.
I have a similar problem. The island I build my main base on goes so far north I have to worry about loading DN chunks. I had to stop exploring it.
DN chunks?
deep north biome.
Ah, you don’t want to prevent yourself from using that world after the update?
right
I’ll just start a new world, I’m using enough Modifiers to soften my world that it’s really a warmup
Unrestricted Portals
No Raids
Least Punishing Deaths
How can I get a cheat sword without console commands?
…Cheat sword?
have someone spawn it for you
it's a developer tool basicly
What if I found a secret way to get it legally with a low chance?
there isn't one
it's just a iron sword with 9999 damage with a fancy VFX on it so people will see if you use a cheat sword or a normal iron sword
Wow, I just saw a Bear die to a Leech
xD
The Bear never used its slam attack, so it always jumped over the Leech with its pouncing
Sasuga, Leech-sama
EVERY TIME I TURN MY BACK, A BEAR SPAWNS.
I’m trying to set up a portal-shack here!
Why is the Bronze Armor only 1 defense better than Bear armor? It costing movement speed for that single point is awful
Bronze armor is original content. Bear set was added with the Call to Arms update.
Okay? So they didn’t balance or rebalance anything between those?
It has remained unchanged since launch, yes.
The black forest already has a 'light' armor set and the bronze 'heavy'armor set. The AC of the bear set is offset by the damage weaknesses.
Bronze armor has a secret set bonus. It’s ✨ fashionable ✨
How much is the damage weakness, anyways? I can’t say it’s been noticeable
wiki says 25%. It'll become more noticeable when you start tanking more damage.
1,25x damage multiplier.
I’ve been nervous to fight Abominations, yeah.
But that’s mostly just that they freak me out in general
Not too significant at the start, but starts becoming something to be wary in later biomes.
once you see their patterns and damage arc, you never need take a hit. just keep left of their sweeping leg and you'll miss everything.
Is luring them over Surtling Geysers popular?
you can take one step left to avoid the sweep and same to avoid the stomp. It's only the belly slam that you need to step back from.
very
It's valid tactic.
It’s a shame that my Swamp with Abominations is the one with no geysers then…
Omigosh, I actually survived that Deathsquito
Long enough to flee, XD
This is why I was nervous about this Swamp
Breeding wolves is probably a bit too much work, right?
Not at all honestly, probably the easiest tame to breed imo. Meat is an extremely common resource
if you do it in meadows, you'll be overrun.
honestly, you probably don't need to breed them. At least I never needed to. The 'You are being Hunted' raid is my most common one.
If you put Raid Frequency to Max, how common are they?
No raids here.
Meat is so much more work to grind than farming a crop
My entire playthrough on my 2nd run I've never gotten the "You are being hunted wvent" all the way to ashlands
Make a animal farm/breeder and free meat lol
Although it takes a bit of setup
Anyone know? Does Maximum Raids make them happen every night?
That raid can't happen in the meadows
I meant breeding wolves there.
boar, neck and deer are so plentiful, the meat causes population explosion.
Only if you keep breeding them and there's too much room in their pen.
There's a radius limit.
When you get really close to them they can only attack you with the log attack which is VERY predictable
It's always how I got em and never really struggled
What do they do from a distance?
They attack with their arms so branches I guess lol
pretty close to. it's a 66.7% chance every 14 minutes.
Yeesh.
But if I go in expecting that, and preparing, maybe fun, XD
Maybe I’d wait until I had a first house to enable Max Raids?
You don't have a house yet?
Nah, I’m thinking of starting a world with Max Raids, as opposed to my current No Raids.
honestly I always forget about modifiers when I'm setting up a new world. I should add max raids in early game for free leather and greydwarf eyes
Wait, is there a Bear Raid?
no
No
that'd be too easy
sucks for him 😎
lmao
I think bears have static spawns though, so mark the spot when you find one and just keep going back.
Sadly, he died far enough in the water I’m not grabbing the loot. Not that I need it anymore, but it’s the principal of the thing!
Yeah, I"m a compulsive loot goblin too.
I really don’t need these 3 chests of Resin, but what could I do, leave them there?!
I personally always get HARASSED by them so not a problem here 😅😅 Actually first time I played since the update I didn't know there would be a new bear (I say new because I already had bears because of a mod) and let's say it was... chaotic
Yeah I hate it, way too many bears, like 2-3x that of trolls, ridiculous
Ugh.... These freaking wolves are so feisty.
lol and they sound like a troll too 😅
I wish there were more bears up until I get the Trophies I need, then there are too many, XD
And they're such a pain to get rid of too. A couple of biomes in and Greydwarves are one-shotted, trolls are down with a couple of arrows but the darn resistances mean at least two combos to take care of them.
I enjoy Parrying tho, so I can’t complain too much.
Valheim needs some rebalancing on the boss location stones
I’ve filled two longships with black steel and genocided 7 planes biomes including the farthest from the map center.
No closer to the boss and I can’t just skip it too mistlands
Welcome to the grind. I'd guess a majority of players find the altar before they find a vegevisir.
Had that happen with the dragon spawner.
Never found a locator but one day saw its red glow looming from a storm.
Just look for a giant hand
I have. I’ve been mapping every planes I can find.
I hate using a cheat code but at this point I’m spending real life days trying to plan how to find this thing.
Are the devs aware of this issue?
they are.
There needs to be something with Haldor where you can trade something in bulk for a location or something.
I feel your pain. I try to look at it as finding plenty of totems for when you need them.
Check out the screenshot
I've got 24 totems RN.
Have you found the boss yet?
That’s messed up
Keep looking and one day you will finally find a vegvisir and chances are it will just turn your screen to the altar that's right beside it
??? A village of Draugrs in the Meadows? 🧐 🫳 🚫
once you get far enough out, yes.
will your skills level up with woodenn weapons?.
That was sick, man! First time I see so many spawners together.
it can be a real surprise if you've already found a village with bees in it. You're expecting sweet, sweet honey and BAM, archer.
lmao that's exactly what happened.
Imagine playing with 3 friends. Finding this village and repair it!
Wooden Weapons isn’t a skill, but you can level your Spear skill with a wood spear, yeah
They can be cool. I created a farm out of one. Also, the large 'hall' type buildings can sometimes have a raven throne, yielding iron nails.
where can you find wooden sword?
I’m trying to remember if you can craft it, or just find it in chests…
Like, I found a wooden knife? Don’t think you can make one, though
you gotta find them in chests
i have spear, axe, knife, battleaxe, atgeir
i just thought mabey specific stuructures had differnt weapons
I found the knife in a buried chest in the Meadows
the sword you can craft. Everything else is found.
biome specific.
one in each biome.
They do make for nice bases
Ohhh... Found a trader at last!
I was a scared for a moment thinking there was some kind of bounty hunting mark on my map.
Some of the settings I keep less punishing unless I’m in multiplayer. I hate retrieving my good gear with worse gear.
But in multi, I can just have a buddy escort me
Or die together.
Sadly possible.
How romantic
I've been progressing in the Ashlands, and I have the mage build so I noticed that I don't really need Flametal that much 🤔 I thought it would be a big part of the Ashlands progress to try and gather a lot of it. But if I don't have the melee build, I don't really need much. Only for a few upgrades and very little for the Robe.
sup
No it's because for some reason the pigs wouldn't eat the food through the wall even though I know it usually works so I had to make some kind of system that rolled the food in front of their face so they could actually eat it. I already knew you needed a workbench or something
Caught my first ever lvl 5 Pike (I think) with an lvl 11 skill.
I caught an lvl 4 earlier with a skill of 8.
hey everyone im new to this server but ive got over 50 hours on valheim, not much, but im looking for a chill group without mods
Good Morning . I am looking for some players or group . It's more about endgame content/farming or maybe helping others (I'd probably start a new character at 1.0). I'd also like to improve my building skills. German preferred, but I can speak some English too. (600hrs)
Trying to find infested mines is a pain in the ass
They're found mostly around the coast of the mistlands, climb up some hills and look at the directions of the coasts till you see some big spiky hills
We have found a few but I think the biome is too small to spawn more. Got 5 cores atm but we'll need to travel to a neighbouring island
It took me forever to find enough black cores to craft everything I needed. Finding anything in the Mistlands feels like gambling
Luckily I also found a Queen Vegvisir on the 5th Infested Mine or so
The Infested Citadel is like, halfway across the map, but at least I know where it is
The trick is not trying to find them
You'll run in a few of them while searching fornsomething else and note them
Then you'll return later when you really need it
best get to finding
you can also find variations of the structure but as abandoned dvergr mines
Yeah ive managed to find more of those than the shoreline ones
If you ever get jumped by a 1star seeker or three seekers at once make sure you climb up any mountains around you.
Several different times I was getting jumped in transit to a skull or something else… turns out there were mines in old Dverger towers that weren’t really lit up but were sitting right above me on a mountain.
They are a little less common than the ones on open ground but spawn often enough you can walk through the valley below and think the zone is sparse.
Where deep north
Go to the shallow south and do a 180
😺
My character went on a trip to the unfinished lands of the Deep North. ❄️ To take in some fresh air and rest from the chaos of the Ashlands. 💀
It's so peaceful here. At least for now... 😂
There was big mountain there with lots of Stone golems. And it even had a Frost Cave. ❄️
I wonder what will happen to the mountain biomes in the Deep North when it releases... 🤔
guys how do i use a raft
is there a way to get royal jelly other than dungeons
Jump on the raft, then press E to use the rudder at the back of the raft to control it. then use A and D control the raft left and right, and S to go backwards if needed
You can also press W to increase speed going forward. 1, 2, or 3 arrows appear depending on the speed. Speed 2 and 3 are only good if your are going in the direction on the wind.
Then to go back to slower speeds just press S again until you have the ideal speed level.
Not that I know. But I think the royal jelly inside the dungeons respawns after sometime.
"As of patch 0.213.4, all Royal jelly piles in Infested Mines will respawn every four hours." (according to the Valheim wiki)
when i press s a or d i move
the raft doesnt
are you in the position of using the rudder?
Press E to use the rudder. The character will go into sailing position automatically. then press W to start moving forward slowly with the first speed.
S is to go backwards/lowering the speed/stopping.
It might help if you watch a video online explaining the Raft/boats controls. I think it helps if you see it for yourself.
Oh damn, i honestly thought they were a one time thing lol.
Not only the jelly respawn in there and when you go back, there wont be any more doors or vines to contain them
it doesnt go into sailing position
🤔 that's weird. your character should automatically grab the rudder when you press E on the rudder object.
Try watching a video online.
i cant send pic
Tomorrow
Then don't and watch a video on it?
are you clicking E on the rudder or the mast?
what is a rudder or the mast
the mast is the sail
rudder is the handle
i dont have a sail i think
It's also not as simple as using wasd to sail, you need to row to go forward or turn agaisn't the wind and only when the wind is not facing you will you be able to lower the sail and move forward
i have a raft
to control the boat. it is at the back of the raft
the mast is the vertical wooden bar in the middle of the raft. you can hold on to it, but that won't let you control the raft. only the rudder/handle does.
do twigs make it easier to level blood magic or no
I don't think so. Because the Skeletons won't attack it and Twig doesn't have enough damage to break our shield easily. Which are the only ways to get Blood Magic xp, as far as I know.
dang that sucks
Yeah 😅
blood magic is one of the worst magics to level up 😭
However, you can go figh lower level creatures whith the shield and let them break it to gain xp.
1st time in a burial chamber, didn't know this game can be so scary
If the creatures aren't too strong, you have time to recover eiter and cast the shield again and again each time it breaks.
yeah that method is just REALLY slow
ill try setting up a farm with greydwarves so i can just have skeletons shoot them
Have ye tried summon skels on top of bonemass spawn? It does great for keeping em out of harms way while they plink away
That should work too.
yeah i was just hopin it would have worked with the twigs
I just summon my skeles and shield them when I farm surtling farms for coal. Let my skeles deal with mobs
it would have to be only ranged skeletons, right? sadly their combat style is random everytime 😅
was it a starred skeleton
yeah
yeah they tend to do that
i had a lvl1 spear
Tip: Skeles are weak to Blunt damage.
im weak to dying in 2hits
i remember my first time goin to the black forest the first skeleton i encountered was 2*
Not fully, spawn is based on location ive found.
and i just assumed that all skeletons were that strong
where are you supposed to go first when u get a raft
have you beaten the first boss yet?
no
yeah you shouldnt be goin to the black forest yet untill you kill the first boss
How does the Demolisher 2x Stagger work? If the Demolisher does 150 Damage, and I have 100 Club skill for (rounding down) +100% damage, the damage should be 300, is it 2X off that or minus armor then 2x?
I usually just summon then all in the same place and they get random combat styles
i ran out of deers to farm so i was like i guess im supposed to elave
Lemme double check it then, I sometimes miss if things get patched
Basically damage x stagger multiplier, enemies don't have armor rate.
wherever you want to go. you can use it to discover more islands or just to cross some bodies of water that you can't swim across.
man the mistlands just hates me bro
i tried walkin in to collect my sap and a 1* gjall with a 2* seeker soldier were just waiting for me
just aint safe in the mistlands ever
first time even seeing a 1* gjall
They should respawn tho. there's always plenty of deer. Unless you started on a tiny island, for example.
Starred gjall are night spawn only.
yeah i went durin the night cuz i waited a while
i never saw that
i regret goin to the mistlands at night
I once died to 2 star one.
I have yet to find a starred gjall myself or experience their raid. They still show up at the worst times tho lol
I can melee a starred seeker soldier. 2 star I panic. A starred gjall I cry
Gjall raid can only happen in Mistlands.
Is there a gjall raid? 😅 glad I haven't had that one.
Does the Club Skill increase the Stagger? Is there some caveat to the Demolisher damage, because I don't feel like I'm doing 150 damage plus 100%
No, stagger multiplier is same. Weapon damage depends on skill level, as shown next to the damage number in yellow, it shows the minimum to max of damage you can deal.
gjalls can raid?!! thank god i never live in the mistlands
How does Stagger work then? If a Charred Warrior has a Stagger of 50%, I thought that meant an incoming effect of 300 would Stagger him. So a Demolisher doing 100 damage, plus 100% from Club Skill, then a 2x Stagger multiplier would land an effect of 400, thereby causing a Charred Warrior to be Staggered.
I show this for an example to make it bit clearer:
Orange damage number shows the potential maximum damage you can deal with it, yellow numbers show the minimum and maximum range for damage based on your skill level on that weapon type. In this picture my character has 47 axe skill level and 0 sword skill level.
Because of that range your weapon doesn't always deal the same amount of stagger. But still, 2h sledges have 2x multiplier for stagger on their attacks.
Stagger limit means how much stagger from attacks they can take of their maximum health before getting staggered.
Thanks, I now understand where I was wrong. So.....any new two handed clubs coming out?
Not that I would know, there is always possibility for additions in 1.0 update.
whats the best etir amount for the mistlands, i finally got some minor etir potions but i dunno what a good amount of etir would be to have
125 seems like a relatively good amount but idk if i need both etir foods or just 1
If I go mage I use 2 eitr foods and 1 stamina.
but then id be really squishy no?
Staff of protection makes up for the lack of HP.
Will boars eat crops that are ready to be harvested?
No they don't.
dont i need to level up blood magic ro make it better or do i just need to upgrade it
BOth
Upgrading increases the duration by 1 minute per quality. Blood magic skill increases the damage threshold of the bubble by 5 per skill level, but has minimum of 200 at lvl 0.
so at max skill level it would be 700?
man i gotta grind blood magic that seems goated
You should be able to see on weapon stats how much hp the bubble has based on your skill level.
It's super good even at low level.
yeah 200 just extra health basically is goated
Bubble also goes on nearby friendlies
oh yeah i forgot about that its been a while since i progressed this far
Yeah, and it can be easily casted again if it breaks, jumping and casting at the same time to keep your movement so you can avoid getting hit.
Even if doing melee, having a bubble is nice because it keeps ticks off you
I suggest two Eitr foods and the best HP food you have atm.
Plus you can parry any attack even with holding just fists while the bubble is on because you don't take damage thus don't get stagger either.
oh i dont stagger with the blood bubble?
legit didnt know that ngl
ok yeah the blood bubble is far better than i remembered
I mean you can't get staggered.
You can still stagger enemies, just to clarify.
And Ember staff can stagger since it also deals blunt damage.
I usually eat two eitr and one hp, because blood magic takes a lof of hp. at least during the lower skill levels.
if it's only elemental magic, i guess stamina food is ok. but then I wouldn't have the blood shield.
Bloodmagic only takes a percentage of current health, not of your max. So you can't kill yourself with it, no matter how low your health is
When doing magic I much prefered keeping the bubble at full health at all time by dodging attacks instead of parrying with it since it doesn't last long that way and leave you vulnerable with the bubble on low health
I checked it, wasn't able to consistently get them to spawn in a single spot. I think that mighta changed 🤷♂️
We are due a word from the devs soon right? Been a while
Still ain't hard to use a butcher knife on em tho
🤔 oh... i never thought about that... i usually eat the hp food so i can summon many skeletons and also the shield. but i guess that makes sense.
still, if the shield does break during combat, then i'm safer if i have more hp anyway 😅
oh i thought it was a percentage of max thats good to hear
=" ) I see. Thanks for checking anyway! ^^
Depends on difficulty and enemies, on higher difficulty and against strong enemies you still get 1 hit so the amount of health doesn't matter in that case
I really like 1 Feast + 2 Eitr foods, gives a good base of health and stamina + a lot of eitr
- Mistland/Ashlands feast when possible
oh, yeah! the feast thing.. i never really used it. i was just buying the thing today from the bogwitch. i'll try it tomorrow i guess.
Yeah, like stated above you cannot die on casting blood magic staves since they take only the amount of % of your current HP, not max.
i misread what the etir potion did and now i feel like a fool
The minor? Basically same as minor/medium HP/stamina but for regaining eitr fast.
yeah for some reason i thought it would give 125 etir for a few minutes 😭
Seems like minor mistake.
Feasts are a nice balanced meal. You can go 2 Eitr + 1 Stam and you'll have very little HP. 2 Eitr + 1 HP and you'll have little Stamina. YOu can get the Plains feast for an acceptable amount of both
The Mistlands Feast is particularly good because it also gives you 33 Eitr on top of the HP and Stam
So it's great for mage builds, 2 Eitr + Mushrooms Galore is very very good
is there any food im like missing in the mistlands that give more etir or is etir kinda just always low
There's 3 prepared eitr recipe unlocked with mistlands ingredients
oh rn i have the seekers aspic and the porridge whats the other one
Then once you defeated the boss you unlock the ability to buy an ingredients to make a feast giving you eitr
Stuffed mushroom
Stuffed mushroom and Seeker aspic are great and fairly cheap which I use if I play as mage, porridge can be more costly to make as it require also sap, but it's required in the Mistlands feast after you defeat the Mistlands boss.
If you play mage I do recommend you put a bit more time on putting up sap extractors as you need so much more than melee build for food, refined eitr and potions
yeah rn i have 4 sap extractors
and in my n my friends world we got 1.5x drop rates so we usually get around 80 sap per harvest
Yeah the 4x increase on sap for 1.5x definitely makes a big difference
hey me and my friends were looking at this game but noticed its almost been 2 years since their last major ashlands update, is this a dead game or are the devs still working on it just mega slow?
Its only few months from CtA update tho 😄
I wonder if this game would add workshop support
Deep North is under production currently.
havent played so idk what that is just curious if theyre still workin on it or if it is what it is in its current state and if thats still worth a play through?
I'm hungry bros... any crumbs or hints of when the Deep north releases
oh cool so its not abandoned thanks for the info! i havent been able to see any dev updates or anything on true north so wasnt sure
As Joel said they are working on the last major update which will also be the 1.0 release 🙂
tbh i think if your not in the loop the game does look abandoned so im glad i checked in here we gonna try out a play through i think
thanks boys
Oh well if it's the 1.0 release it might be a while then. Devs usually overhaul a bunch of stuff before offical releases.
Game got 2 "minor" updates since Ashlands, by "minor" with aposthropes I mean they're still pretty significant updates.
from an outsiders prospective the game looks abandoned due to lack of updates/dev news besides house pics and everyone was saying it was thats why im glad i checked in here we were on the fence about a playtrhough but im excited to hop on
lot of misinfo out there so i try to do my own research
any tips for our first run? will be 4 of us
That's very wise, there are many sources spreading false info sadly.
Best is to trust the words of actual developers (Smiffe being most active dev in this server), also following https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202150165449035816 you will get any new info developers want to share to us.
as someone who plays the game purely for the builds with slow progression. I can say this game has plenty to offer in its current state despite haven't being updated recently. If you want challenge crank up the world settings, if you want peace in midgard, turn em down. either or the game is really fun!
nearly 200 hours deep in valheim
Combat is generally "Soulslike", lots of emphasis on deliberate movement rather than button mashing, learn to block, parry and dodge quick.
If first timers, don't use Google, figuring things out without googling info is the best experience IMHO.
Inventory, Stamina Management
PLENTY OF WOOD
Remember stay rested and use best available foods when venturing into new biomes.
The game guide Hugin gives solid info about mechanics of the game.
I always found building a feast hall with friends before adventures is great
Gather a lot of wood
Wood is good, I like wood
Bear in mind that Valheim isn't your average live service game. It gets updates because it's on early access, but it plans to be a finished product. So, at one point, it'll """"die"""" in huge quotation marks, because it's the same thing as saying that Dark Souls 2 is a "dead game". Doesn't really make that much sense.
You never have enough wood/stone/iron
Thanks for the tips guys ima be sure to gather extra of everything and I’m usually the resident builder so it looks like I’ll be having a great time, really friendly discord for new players here I love it
The building mechanics on Valheim are about the best I've played with in it's genre.
Oh yeah you're gonna love it
I don't want to spoil anything but the building mechanics gets more and more complex and detailed the further you go in the progression, so you won't get overwhelmed at first but still be able to have access to a large variety of constructions, so yeah building isn't meant to be an option but a core mechanic of the game (I think)
Complex mechanics?
each materials doesn't act the same
some act for support, others for detail, some are better for defense
Anyone here plays with mods?
I do
I hardly play vanilla anymore. What's up
I was wondering if I should install some QoL mods
I highly recommend
It's technically my second playthrough but I've only ever gotten to mountains
So it's kinda like my first
Yeah the creator name lol I sent you a DM about mod lists
In case you missed it, there is https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202934289898151966 for these discussions. 👍
Oh
Thanks
I hate the mistlands for a simple reason: not enough enemy variety. I just feel like there's no content
Ok there's a good amount of crafts but weapons don't serve any purpose if there's no more than 2 enemies to deal with (tick are anecdotal and gjall are easy to kill)
I know Ashlands will correct this but still I don't understand how they took all this time for this biome to not have more enemies
I can still go in a fuling camp and feel excited
Seekers, Soldiers, Dvergr Rogue, Dvergr Mage, Ticks and Gjall. That's 6.
Day 365! 1 in game year anniversary!

dvergrs are neutrals by default and are basically fulings
Yes, you said this.
I can still go in a fuling camp and feel excited
There's multiple scenarios that encourage the player to aggro the Dvergr as well.
yeah i get black metal, gold, flax, barley, leathers for my trouble
ok nvm there's tissue
i'll fuck off
when release date?
Will the deep north have a Tim hortons
Can I dodge and not end up sneaking?
The sneak key is a toggle button, I'd like it to be press to perform
Block and jump
I genuinly thought they were joking I'm sorry
No worries.
It's better not give direct answers for release dates, joking or not, since only developers have that info and they don't want any false info spreading, since some people might believe what is being said here.
Current best answer for any release info is "It's released when it's ready".
True
Since you're new it seems you were not aware of it. Hope my explanation gave you some light on the matter. 🙂
Does anybody have any solutions to this? Whenever I am playing Valheim with my brother locally I keep disconnecting every 5 minutes and even Discord crashes too
Probably ur internet connection is bad
It averages out at about 60mbps
But yesterday I barely disconnected at all. Its just weird
That's mcdonalds mountain
The coffee is better at McDonald's anyways
is that a new a update
Deep North is the final biome that's not yet released and will mark the official full completion of Valheim which, you wouldn't know it from its polished presently existing state, is actually technically still in early-access
Lavender mead sounds awesome
Weve just found a black forest biome surrounded by mistlands and south west is a small section of Plains. Got a plan to build a farm that crosses all three biomes
I have a spawn with an island that's half meadows, half plains with a little offshore swamp and even a draugr spawn village
Guess where my new farming base will go . .
nice
those "biome boundaries' tend to be some of the best places for bases, both visual diversity and east access to a variety of materials, and climates for farming since not every crop and be grown in every biome
Does armor help vs piercing damage?
yes that's just a "type"
like the way "fire" or "frost (cold)" damage is 'typed'
ah okay so it doesn't actually pierce? It's just for the resistance thing?
it would have no effect/difference whatsoever but for the fact that enemies have different weakeness & strengths to types
exactly it's not "armor piercing" in any sense like that
Nice, so eventually deathsquitos stop being oneshot machines
exactly
The only damage type not reduced by armor is pure damage, which is mostly used for fall damage, drowning and damage over time ticks.
that is an important bit of helpful additional info
np
Sorry if i ask something stupid and easy to google but im trying to avoid spoilers. Will there eventually be a better way to get iron? Im at the plains now and im tired of going back to the swamp all the time
there will be new ways to get iron and you might not need as much as you do in plains
well spoiler alert for those who also haven't progressed so far but im trying to make the padded armor and it asks for a load of iron again
and for building too
You will never stop needing iron and swamps will always have the highest amount of it.
So it is best to make your peace with going back every so often.
😭 allright
If you're in Plains already, Swamps are a cakewalk on return so 🤷♂️
Yeah its not about the difficulty haha, just not very interresting to do
At least it gets considerably faster as you get further in the game, get better pickaxes and higher pickaxe skill
thats true
Iron might be the most valuable resource in the game. It's needed for gear, weapons, building . .
whats like the best weapon for the queen
magic, embers and bubble staff is amazing for her, or do you want melee option?
i was just looking for a side weapon for when im regenerating etir
Mistwalker / Carapace buckler, Demolisher are good to have
is the skull splittur any good? it looks pretty cool
actually tbh I have not used that one yet, its relatively new and I haven't done a battle axe play through since it got added, the previous tier of this weapon was taking some time to get used to, but definitely effective if you learn how to fight well with it
Pretty nice for mistlands, especially dungeons
I’m not a huge fan of it in Ashlands but maybe thats just me
You just convinced me to make one in current playthrough
it's haven't even been 5 years yet
typical is 5-7 years 🤔
@forest heron did you just go "oh shit" ?
nice
our users aren't here just to humor trolls
any info if Deep North will have a high mountains? I've seen screenshots only with kinda flat lands. I want to build a huge project on my survi world, but idk if I should wait for that biome
non given
Personally wouldn't mind if the terrain is flatter there. We already have mountains which has higher altitudes.
i feel it will be mostly flat just not to be the same as the mountains biome
k thanks
just speculation at this stage though, we'll know when we know
According to the map generator, some of the deep north areas have mountain biomes interspersed among them, so it may have mountains but they may just be... mountains. Could change, though
yeah we don't know if this will change or not, and probably won't until it comes out
Is there a channel for “new player who summoned Eikthyr thinking he would be easy and immediately regretted it and had to move bases”?
Asking for a player to hop in and help with a disaster like that here is okay, but if no one available to help you, make a post in #1024264966712340510 for this
not really. just use devcommands to kill him if hes too hard
I can't help right now as I'm working
not my recommendation to tempt a new player with this thing, can ruin someone's experience if they are not disciplined
I ended up just using that haha. I was just being a goof, and learned the hard way. Then disabled it after
Luckily I have experience in gaming and console commands so I’m not tempted to cheat; ruins the fun
If they want that power they'll get it anyways. Devcommands and debugmode can save play throughs.
The game is incredibly glitchy and merciless at points.
It's also interesting to learn the commands, and learn about the game's unity code.
i personally havent encountered many bugs at all except for the broken furnaces every once in a while
I would not agree with incredibly glitchy
I've lost two star animals and equipment, and a 4 star fish to bugs.
what bugs do that
yeah how?
there was one where it would group fish together, and the four star fish got counted in the stack.
and then my fish got turned into a one star.
I've had two star boars despawn randomly.
re you sure they werent killed by enemies while you were away?
Positive.
or did you just see them dissapear
hm I have not encountered these, this is all 100% Vanilla yeah?
They disappeared. And yes.
That's why I recommended knowing devcommands.
Can help in certain situations.
Haven’t really encountered that
same
me and my friend were doing a friendly duel and his cowardly self used a fire res when my main dmg source is fire
how dare he
know thy enemy
it is cowardly to fear the damage type of one you know when he is vastly stronger
so when you fight bonemass do you use poison res ?
bonemass isnt a friendly duel
hes still an enemy that you prepare for
yes but what is the point of a fair duel if one uses petty tricks to gain the upper hand
i see as getting perpare for a fight how evenlly match were you both ?
I was doing meagre damage since he used his fire res while he had 2x my health and basically 2x my defense
he removed all fairness as soon as he popped fire res
well if he already had twice the health and defence it didnt seem fair to begin with without the fire res
nah cuz fire does heavy damage
what was his gear vs you
his carapace to my etir weave
i feel like no matter what it would of been unfair no matter what as there just too many variables, i would think best play is let it go as it is and be more perpare yourself for the next one
I would suspect that if it is glitchy for anyone any longer, its because there is something wrong with the system they are using. My wife uses a laptop on the lower end of the recommended settings, and the only problem she has is how long it takes for her to get through a portal. I only have a similar issue when I play with her, so suspect it has more to do with using a server via Steam.
does the queen heal if you leave the arena
i forget
she doesnt right? not a substantial amount anyways
yea she fully heals
i just checked the wiki ur lyin
why you gotta lie for no reason bro 😭
she heals like slowly over time
im pretty sure she heals when you leave the arena
not a substantial amount at all
one of you could stay in as the other leaves as needed to stop her from healing
all enemies in the game heal at all times (even while being attacked) at a rate of 100% of their max health per hour.
it's very slow and gradual
yeah i knew that, i was just making sure of it yk
didnt wanna accidentally leave and come back to her at 100%
Anyone else getting the 9,999,999 bug?
My son and I keep randomly hitting things for this
(neither of us have mods, we play vanilla)
wierd ?
Never seen nor had it on any other time we've ever played in years
Just started a new run and found 4 copper deposits at the very edge of BF with tin nearby too, right near a village. Seems like a nice place for a base
whats are you usually doing when it triggers like is it certain mods and weapons or just random
ohh very nice score
Nah, theres nothing that seems to trigger it... I've tried replicating it, for the purpose of it getting fixed. its just happening randomly
Happened on rocks, boat, stones, growths, so aint like its limited to one type of material, and happened with an axe, a sword, a bow, so not one weapon type either.
We both turned off our comps, and checked for updates, nothing. Happened the next day too
Definitely nice to have a closeby and semi-safe source of it while doing vhard permadeath 😅
Can get some gear before hunting down trolls and bears
Hold Torch, bear becomes scared, easy kill. Or put campfire under him XD
try a new world for a short bit to see if it happens there plus try different characters
Feels cheesy to me
doing hardcore with my friend too and it can be very scary at times manged to get some iron early thou which helps
Nice! imo iron age is where it gets a lot easier. Get access to mistlands tier food and root chestplate, among other things
I tend to die in BF on a lot of runs though because I get overconfident 😓
Well then the other option is, once you know his attack patterns, dodge, and kill. 🙂
No need ores for that 😄
i manged to get some iron off the doors in the caves in the mountians but that area is risky enough as it is too
True, it's what I usually do. But that rare once in a while I miss one dodge and have to delete the world feels bad so I usually prefer to get geared to the point where I can tank 1 hit
I lost a 200 day hardcore server jumping off my 2nd floor without food on, shit happens 😂😂
roughhhhh
So is the building ideas tab asking and sharing building ideas or just sharing
When do enemies despawn? If you shut the game?
Depends, some only spawn at night. They despawn at day. They deaggro if you log out, but dont despawn
Ugh. I fled through a portal from a Deathsquito, and I’m wondering if I can ever go back, XD
be careful ur portal doesnt get destoyed
It hasn’t been
Yeah going thru portal ,normally they keep attacking it
Where as logging out "cheeses" their aggro
I have it in an alcove, the entrance is where the Deathsquito was tho
adding onto that, yea, only enemies spawned by specific night-only spawn rules or invasions can despawn at all, everything else is permanent (and usually patrols the area where the enemy first spawned while calm)
probably a 50/50 whether the squito turns around to return to its anchor point or spots you again as soon as you enter the portal 😅
So, the Squito spotted me from a neighboring Plains and came after me, who was in a Black Forest. I’m trying to enter a Swamp, also adjacent to the Plains in question.
Pull out weapon, swat the deathsquito, it'll die
My weapon is a Quality 4 Iron Sword, I have zero clue how tough Deathsquitos are, just that this was my first time surviving a hit from one
Thats a one hit on them, they hit like trucks, but lack hp
Assume you have an iron buckler too?
Parry, it'll get staggered for a moment, one hit it 🙂
Hard for me to parry a mob on the first try, but I’ll make the attempt!
Deathsquitos are glass cannons. High damage, but very squishy. However, they are fast. u.u So it's good to try parrying them, because running isn't always an option.
My last run, three years ago, petered out in the Mountains, so I’ve never done the Plains proper
But if you are close to other biomes, you can run to those biomes and the deathsquito will eventually get aggro on a creature from there and stop chasing you. whichs gives time to run away.
Deathsquito seemed to ignore Draugr, in this instance
🤔
At least, it hated me more, XD
Guys im taming a 2star wolf can it be tamed during the daytime if it started at night?
How about the Black Forest that you came from? I'm sure the deathsquito won't refuse killing some greydwarves there xD
as long as you stay near it
It’s teeny, just a coastline really
if it has already eaten, it should no longer attempt to despawn at all and progress continues during daytime
alright thank you
if it hasn't eaten yet, you do still need to stay near it until the next night
so I can leave it be if its eating to get it some more food
95% sure yes, do ping me if it goes wrong 😅 but i'm pretty certain there was a patch addressing how tedious it was to tame stared wolves ages ago
alright it didnt despawn yay
i think there is a potion to help taming as well
Love potion?
Nope animal whispers
bog witchlove potion increase's troll spawn rate and starred chance apparentlyy
What do we need a 2* wolf for my son?
Wolf boat
Oh, thats right, the troll one haha
does anybody know the drop chance for cultist trophy
Whats the % chance of Cultist trophy? Rarer than bear trophy imo
I said it first!
The same, 10%
intresting
Rancid skeleton trophy still eludes me to this day
I've only ever seen one of those
You mean the one I found 🙂
Dont think ive seen the ghost one since they changed ghosts as well
Ghosts used to drop nothing, I know they drop Ectoplasm since the change, do they even have a trophy?
Yeah, pretty sure new ghost with the ecto has a trophy now
The new ghosts don't despawn after their raid. I have 2 caged up outside my gates, it looks awesome.
Ghost Raid?
Yeah the chill down your spine raid
Havent heard of it before is it new?
If they look as good as brenna's I'll spend a weekend taking my demolisher back to black forest
2 star wolf 83%
We still havent gotten a single raid, and we're up to summoning moder, (And taming wolves apparently)
And my son spends alot of time building/at base
Ive only built 3 castles
Sounds like you turned raids off in settings?
there on
Nah Ive chekced a few times
That's insane, haha
It's possible not encounter them like that, they just have a small chance of activating around base items after 45min of gameplay
ive been afk taming a wolf for ages and all my base building ive done
Do 2 star wolf's tame faster at night?
No, only with taming meads does it happen faster.
alright
Being hunted by wolves is anywhere in game, seems statistically unlikely to have no raids by now
That's just mountains or plains
not in mistlands or ashlands?
No, the wolves will only hunt you in those 2 biomes.
Kitty
alright
Haha, that's a terrible name
to bad
My friend likes to name wolves typical Xbox tags from 2007, like xXWolf833Xx
Hes walking thru the mountains with his wolf named Kitty -.-
Get that meat farm going too
nah im gonna get 30-50 and make a wolf boat
same 😂
I had a Wraith ambush me outside of my base once, because of that raid. The wraith stayed there. I didn't know. I was on low HP foods since I was just building stuff in my base that day. The thing almost one shot me. u.u
I thought once you killed the Hildir Bosses, it made all those areas 1*? Howling Caverns/Burial Chambers
day 56 and alsmost up to moder
That's why they're my favorite mob(not really it's just because they look cool).
They do xD
they also scared the hell out of me when I saw one in the game for the first time. One of those days I stayed in the Swamp for too long and the night came. But they do look cool.
Camping out in one of those fishermen's huts on stilts as you search for crypts is the best
Speaking of "fisherman" I wish each biome fish did something more than just turn to fish
Would love a reason to fish 😛
for a fisherman hat thats a flex
I think we can get a hat or something
with one of each fish, right?
yeah
Fish and bread is... mistlands anglerfish?
yes
btw, speaking of fish. i went on a trip to the unfinished deep north yesterday, and there's northern salmon there. do we need that one for the hat too? or just the other fishes?
golden anglerfish its called or something
Probally
good question
No its called fish and bread
Have to re discover all my mountain caves for that tetra pool, wish I had marked it separate to the other caves
I didnt think of that... Only found one tetra pool so far
btw, does catching fish by hand count to have the hat? 😅 I caught all my tetra by hand
yes it does
What sort of differences can there be in worlds with the same seed?
Would Crypts and such in the same spots be different?
I guess the POIs, depending on the patch 🤔
if it's the same patch, I guess they would be the same?
Traders i believe, but can spawn in the same spot
wish us luck on moder
You won't need it but good luck!
that too. since it depends on the location we find them first
Moder's music is always so nice.
I mean, all musics in Valheim are super good. But Moder's has that "sad but epic" vibe. Goes well with the lore.
The sky in mountain with moder beautioful too
Yes 😌
"Moder is in Tears" feels so sad killing her
Moder's head on the wall looks amazing, too, haha. Just shy of eik for me
it does 😢
Like she dont nothing wrong.
she's always the saddest boss to kill. i don't wanna do it 😅
the tears are so important to the progress tho
I hate killing 2 star necks
if it wasn't for that, i'd try a "no Moder run"
they are so beautiful
Wait I just realised We havent handed in elder trophy yet and we just killed moder lol
Time to build a stone castle in the planes
I got my Ekithyr buff, you can hand in the other trophies 😄
I have a second Eikthyr trophy in my main base, but that's about it. I usually just kill each boss once
Same
Now t oslaughter whole villages to get black metal (We found Yagluth before Moder/Bonemass)
So onwards to the next stage!
NGL Valheim with ya kids are fun 🙂
family gaming?
ye
Unfortunately for us, only my wife and I like playing Valheim.
That sounds good too.
Oh, it is. We have over 2600 hours together.
WOW
I have a coop with my bf, and a few solo runs.
But he's usually the chill type. And we are in the Ashlands rn which is not chill at all 😅 so he gets tired more easily.
wow indeed
Yeah, Ashlands is nearly non stop fighting.
We have had many servers up to mistlands that got deleted from incorrect cloud saves 🙁
I also have a coop with a friend but we can't play a lot because of timezone difference
Yeah. Can't blame him for getting tired. He usually likes to stay at the base and build things. So many times I go to the Ashlands alone or other biomes to gather resources. But he also insists that he wants to experience the game with me, so I try not to progress a lot by myself. It's our world after all.
On Steam?
yeah
My toon just dced lost cloud save so now where missing moder trophy and 8 dragon tears
Get to fight it again 😄
I have a friend who preferred building, but he did a fair amount of fighting too. He recently tried to play with us again, but between his work hours and health issues, he ended up stopping.
You could use dev commands to spawn replacements.
Maybe he can come back a little for the deep north later? =" )
Thats what I said
I refuse, dont believe in it.
That would be great, but he didn't even make it into the plains this last time.
I see... He wouldnt know the progress to the deep north so maybe it wouldn't make a lot of sense.
I don't use them either, but when its losses due to game glitches, I may do it, depending on what it takes to get replacements. I don't mind fighting Moder, so I would just fight her again.
I will fight her again, and hopefully this time, Zalane doesnt go fight a Stone golem leaving boss to me 😂
I mean, Stone Golem can be worse than Moder 😂
The problem is that Moder spawned with damage and hp for two players.
I agree, since they don't fly around like Moder, and give you a breather.
I mean, my bf basically killed Yagluth alone since I kept getting killed... 😅
Yagluth was the worst boss for me so far.
3 plains 2 trophies. 1 more....hopefully
Yagluth was the toughest for me back when he was the last boss.
They look so good, although bonemass is... interesting. Base building and decorating is a game unto itself
Bonemass reminds me of Zalanes mum, so I dont touch it.
The pillars around my first yagluth fight look like Swiss cheese suspended in the air, so much los blocking
It is. I also noticed how much more difficult/complex it is to build with late game materials. They look great and are very resistant, but also difficult imo.
On the other hand, they also leave plenty of room for creativity tho.
Some build materials are for very specific things, like framing the dvergr door.
🤔 I see.
Gives you a lot of reasons to go back out to old zones or set up bases within mistlands rather than a main safe haven in a lesser biome
I haven't done any serious builds with the Ashlands materials, so no idea if they have any quasi specific use situations.
i just used some in a very simple way to protect my portal and chests there
Grausten has the fanciest of stonework. But a very clean look I find tough to integrate
Pretty much all I have done with them as well. I have seen some impressive builds with those mats, though, so I will eventually get around to a serious build.
in my solo playthrough I'm sticking to the main base in the Meadows so far. But I reshape it and decorate it with new materials when I have them. So it's a very experimental base too.
I didn't use to build that much until this playthrough where made everything myself. So my base was kinda weird and lacked support in the beginning, but I started to reshape it and improve it as I learned.
Thats what I have done my last few, play throughs. Well, its getting close to 10 now, so I guess "few" is the wrong word to use.
it's a very "original" base haha also because of the location. xD the location doesn't allow me to expand the base a lot, so it's like a tetris game with Valheim building
I learned long ago to give myself plenty of room in my main base, so expanding things is always an option for me.
yeah... i made that "mistake" since i didn't use to build a lot before. But then i built my small base and didn't want to leave it or destroy it. so I kept on building there, eventho i don't have a lot of space
i guess not having space wasn't that bad for the creativity in a way.
Well am on something like my 30th + base, so have had lots of learning situations for knowing what I need to do.
my base is on a small piece of Meadows just between two cliffs. so it's on a high place, but a very narrow place.
Same, haha. Just build a dock they said, and some beehives... ended up with a shipyard and a full apiary...
Plus I make a lot of mini bases in most of the biomes.
Also considering that I am in the Ashlands rn and it has worked so far, i don't think i will need a lot more space.
Plus using a Citadel for a base is pretty roomy. You can also make many levels inside of it.
wait, you can build inside of it?!
usually we can't build inside dungeons so I thought the Citadel was like that too
I have. Put down flooring, etc..
Doing that atm to the outside of the towers in Plains. Building spires and spirals up the side of it
You mean that tower we get eggs out of?
The Hildur quest tower?
Yeah, the trader quest one. Indestructible outer wall you can attach iron beams to to build full bases off of it
Nice. I have always thought those balconies it has would make it easy to integrate with an exterior build.
Yep, the balconies are technically outside the dungeon area so can put anything on them
Plus the view from the top of that tower is usually pretty nice.
Another 'we just need a place to grow barley and flax' and my mind went wild with ideas
barley, flax and some extras 👍
There's now a herd of lox roaming the fields, I went a little overboard feeding them cloudberries...
I the mistlands I don't really have a base, but I have a bed and a portal in a small dvergr port building by the sea.
my mistlands farm and roots for the sap are near that building
they can guard the house when you are away. ❤️
Some of the dwarf huts have a nice basement, I like building in them after evicting the occupants. Need that mushroom farm
we have one of those in the coop world.
in my solo world i just have a very small one, without the basement. it's cozy.
it's also by the sea, so it's a free port in the mistlands. my boat can stay close to me.
Yeah, I'd like to do something with that area under the Queen. Just by the time I get to her, I already have my farm, etc... well established. So not much motivation to do anything by then.
Definitely my hardest to find boss, those tablets in mistlands are so rare or I am amazingly unlucky!
Mine didn't take so long to find, but I only found that one so far.
Btw, I did a Frost Cave in a mountain in the Deep North, and it had a Moder vegvisir xD
got my last trophy, and i made it to the bottom of a sealed tower. zil and thungr trophies
Hesitant to travel up there so it doesn't 'load in' the assets before they release. Very excited to see it
rn it's just an empty frozen land. but it can have mountain biomes. I wonder what will happen to those mountains after the release...
has there been a word from the devs since november? Im just curious
not yet, i think.
whats hildirs chest do for me
oh well im lookin forward to it
if you take it to Hildir you can buy more different clothes there.
you will have more options to buy. different colors and styles.
is ther a chest for each merchant in the bottom of those towers?
three chests, all for Hildir
boo
one in a tower, one in a dungeon, one in a cave
tower check
Basically you get them from three different mini bosses, like the one you just killed.
Managed to take down a bear. Is there any food that can be made with its meat?
Currently no.
bro ive dead ass just got 8 iron from an entire crypt
2 of the 3 pathways at the start were blokced of
and there were 3 muddy scrap piles down the 3rd pathway
😭
ok tf is this
i go to annother crypt.... 2 of the 3 pathways are walls😭 😭
i just want iron
dude I managed to get 6 iron from 3 crypts, that was my worst, have found more than 1 crypt with 0 iron in my playtime.
after my real bad 3 crypts the next 2 were like 45 and 84 or something
damn thats terrible luck
i mean my previous crypt was 120 iron so......
ebbs and flows haha
at least I usually only need 5-7 iron per playthrough (units of fully filled longship holds I mean hahaha)
Yep. I've found crypts with no iron, as well as less than 10 iron. Fortunately they are actually rare, over all.
i remember i have found 7.5 stacks of iron in a crypt before it was huge with 2 big treasure room
1x world modifier (default) i think that was the record for me
Hmm lightning chain arc
I'd like to join someone in a game, but all the games there have passwords.
yes. it's intended
go to #1024264966712340510 and look for servers
Smiffe I got a question
Hello fellow Vikings!
I just downloaded this game last night. I am not even 2 hours in yet. In most survival games, I turn off base raids. My question for you all is this: will I be missing out on anything major in this game by turning off raids?
voice acting for yagluth sounds like someone burping while talking
Nothing major, but they're not super common or hard to deal with, a lot of players see them as enemy drop deliveries. 😅
hello
Thanks for your response. I think I will leave them on for now, just to see how challenging they are
You can change world modifier options at any time so you can disable them later if you wish.
Wait; how? Lol.
yeah
yeah

YOU FOLLOWED IT AND DROWNED.
yeah
And my AXE
Its fine if you dont get it. Even if it's from one of the greatest trilogies OF ALL TIME
Hmm.
Nope. 😭
The hunger games?
I might’ve just said the most disgraceful thing.
Lol.
Hm.
Fantasy themed
The Hobbit!?
That’s Lord of the Rings, right?
Or Game of Thrones?
I don’t know. Lol.
This is hilarious
Hes rly close
The Kingsman!?
Shoot.
Is that Jack and the Beanstalk movie a trilogy?
The uhh, movie with Jack in the title; and there’s giants.
I’m struggling.
I like that you have sent the right answer and then continued to guess
well done 👏
yees?
no embeds allowed
nah you just need to punch it
I fell asleep
, anyways do you guys plan to add any minor stuff to things that dont have much use like chitin or bear meat? maybe introducing new crafting recipes or new buildables?
after the final major update
I need ideas!
I'm currently working on a short animation about Valheim.
I want to make Odin's magical workroom that he controls his ravens and other things. I had the idea of making that room inside the Yggdrasil but looking at Valheim's structures and mythologies, it doesn't quite fit in my eyes. What should i do? does anyone have any idea?
Hang upside down by one leg after blinding an eye. Eventually you will gain knowledge
Dont forget to stab yourself with a spear as well 😄
I mean, you can learn runes from books on Amazon, or even a local library, but Odin had to be special
I would expect Odin's room to have a staircase leading up to it. The room is round and has stained glass windows at the back. In the centre is a table made from a slice of yggdrasil wood with the age rings pulsing with eitr. Shafts of light come through the round window in the middle of the roof. Aside the stairs are yggdrasil wood pillars that become arches at the top.
Near the top of the room are small doors or openings for his ravens to fly through.
Thanks! Great idea!
I would love to be able to build with Yggdrasil wood. Even as beams for decoration.
I agree. Glowing wood would look great with black marble
I also want wall torches in the other colors
Hi, me and my husband wanted to start and playing Valheim in the weekend, and woundered if someone is onboard and want to join? 😊
Have you tried looking for someone in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510 ?
It's likely you'll find someone there.
when can we expect devblog?
When it’s done
There’s no set schedule but I know they’re working hard behind the scenes!
Usually it has been published at the end of the month.
But there are always exceptions.
Like the old ones where you just put food in amd babies fall out?
@potent ruin don't @ 150,000 users...
i wanna play this game but im getting really mad at how much i have to farm for leather
like this is not enjoyable
its not even a proper grind im just walking around hoping to find some mobs
You can change loot drop multiplier from world modifiers.
is this a common issue ppl have
maybe my seed just spawns no mobs
like i wouldnt even mind like farming wood for an hour bc its consistent im getting bored of just searching mobs for so long
Leather scraps is the issue?
the start of the game can feel grindy sometimes but it gets less grindy later
yeah kind of
Boars are spawned randomly around the meadows areas, but they also have few dedicated point of interests where they spawn once: either ruined villages or runestones that tell you about them.
They are also tamable animals.
Does anyone want to play on Xbox?
You can probably skip having to upgrade your leather armor to the max. Deer Hide isn't that useful past the early game, and you'll be drowning in Leather Scraps in the blink of an eye. It's just a "concern" in the first 30' of gameplay
They may be trying to craft the bow or the workbench upgrade
The real deal is to find a crashed boat and break it for the finewood
And so you can make a Finewood Bow
is there a progression guide that includes EVERYTHING?
like, using bone fragments to craft something
some guides that I looked at don't include that
I think there's something called the "Valheim Wiki" where things are listed in the order of the biome?
i also think theres something called being nice
your best bet would probably be youtube
Is a Quality 4 Iron Sword a feasible weapon for Abomination-slaying?
One of the best you can have in swamp for it in fact 🙂
Guh. Getting up close is scary though, XD
Paired with iron buckler it makes dealing with them very fast 😄
Gjall killed my one-star rogue neighbor. /cry
Whew, managed to kill one, next will be a bit easier now that I understand its attacks better
is there a mod that makes cooking stations pull raw ingredients from chests?
Folks in #mods-discussion might know 🙂
I think it’s AzuCraftyContainers
doesn't seem to pull
I have that mod
the cooking station doesn't pull it
Guys i found rocky, can i get a rock and stone.
Rock and stone, brother!

No release date given yet. Just some time this year.

Wait how tf it's on early access
Did you not read the Early Access info when you bought it?
Guess not
when does deep north come out
No one knows.
I probably just saw the discount notification on my phone and tap tap ka ching lol
I get it. It stays EA until Deep North comes out, then its officially in full release.
Nice
Can I recruit players here or the is different channel for that?
#1024264966712340510 would be the channel for that 🙂

anyone know of a BepinEx compatible texture pack thats actually updated? for some reason I cant find any updated texture packis for valheim that actually work
Probably a better response in #mods-discussion or #mods-issues
Are Magmafish hard to find? I am struggling to locate them
I sued badgers and willybach idk if there are updated but they work perfectly fine
I’m starting to feel pretty confident against Abominations now, didn’t miss a block that time!
Didn’t get every parry, but it was always at least a block.
When they use their heavy branch attack, it misses if you stand too close to their stump
