See, to me stamina is used when? When we need it to fight, or run. So I tie it to our "Fight or Flight" responses, because that is how my brain works. So, adrenaline. So adrenaline and stamina are effectively the same thing in my mind, when it comes to the game play in Valheim.
I suppose you call health eitr then because both are used in summoning magic?
No, magic is purely imaginary, and has no scientific equivalent. One of my degrees is in Biology, so I know the Fight or Flight response.
do bloodgeon stacks cap at %100?
So since, at least I, only use the stamina mead when I want to keep beating the crap out of something, or run, it equates to fight or flight response to me.
can it exceed %100 damage bonus?
Can what exceed it? What are you talking about?
constructive responses only, ty
The bonus damage on bloodstone weapons? There is no limit.
??????
How the fuck is "what are you speaking about?" When you aren't using any words from the game not constructive???
Bloodgeon isn't the only bloodstone weapon
Bloodstone also doesn't have any stacks...
Maximum possible current bonus is 64.8% now that I understand what we are talking about.
The only weapons with stacks are ones that deal fire or spirit damage, so forgive me for being thrown.
oh its 0.2% nvm, thought it was 2%, I was gonna say that seems op on health build
2% per 1 missing hp would skyrocket the damage output honestly. π
yeah sorry
Is that the Ashlands mace name?
OK, I was going to craft it anyways, but now I have a little extra motivation for making it.
shame there isnt a life leach augment
The bloodstone mace is Bloodgeon, yes.
Bombs have stacks
Elaborate?
You can have a stack of bombs

...
One of these days I will get to finish an Ashlands play through, and finally experience all this stuff myself. This last time my wife's glasses broke, so now she is blind. She should get her new ones in Sunday or Monday, so we can start playing together again. So finish our Ashlands play throughs. Until then, I do my solo play.
is she farsighted?
At least ashlands still has one last "first" to give me
I made barley bread for the first time
Clearing the biome knowing that I'm moving into the deep north right after will make its experience a bit different hopefully
Its not all that great, but Im pretty sure I messed up the recipe
She actually sees extremely well up close. So whatever that is called.
nearsighted likely, I have that I just need glasses to drive legally
She needs glasses for anything more than a foot away from her face. Everything just gets more blurry from there on out.
We got her two pairs this time.
unfortunately conversation is typically not a single person experience, so you can't use words differently than the norm and expect others to understand you
I beg to differ, some of the best conversations I've ever had are at 3am with myself
Oh, I do it all the time. I don't really care about being "normal". I find that to be boring. I also do not expect people to understand me.
think he was just differentiating between flat vs regen
To me skill increases are actually stamina, and I guess the regen of tasty mead would fit that best as well. When I use meads, I define it as being an injection of adrenaline. Because of how I relate that to our Fight or Flight Response. So to me, and how I think, Stamina is not the correct word for all situations in Valheim. So I also use adrenaline with how I think about things.
I do usually remember to use the word stamina here, but my brain sometime forgets. So I use what does come to my mind.
u are confused with the term in your head and the actual in-game term. π€·ββοΈ
In regards to Hildirs Challenges, they were implemented at Mistlands Equipment Level Right?
It's all shits and giggles until you talk to your sleep paralysis demon at 3 AM
Sleep? Unsure of that term
It's that action which skips all the smelters, I tried it with my oven and it worked, the chicken came out perfectly and I didn't have to wait at all
there shouldn't be any lock in place. u can access her table at any time. clearing the fuling tower is a different matter tho.
Not confused, no. I understand how it is used in Valheim, by Iron Gate, but Stamina is muscle conditioning. So that works for me with regards to the increases we get from the run and jump skill. That is conditioning. When I use the meads for combat or running, thats when it become adrenaline to me. We are injecting ourselves with adrenaline to fight or run. Just like our bodies use when we have our Fight or Flight response. So I make perfect sense to myself. π π
exactly my point
Yeah the table is unlocked, but, the bosses are equiv to mistlands gear, or at least end game plains?
They're equivalent to their respective biomes' equipment
I'd recommend later plains and up
Yeah, as DTO said, we can access those challenges as soon as we find her and touch her table.
Don't really need late plains/mistlands gear to kill a glorified skeleton with one extra attack
The Tomb is first then? And equiv to the BF Burial Chambers?
I too, as DTO suggests, would wait until you have plains gear to do at least the Sealed Tower. I find the others to be easier, so iron gear might be good enough for those.
I know Cavern is Mountain, and Tower Plains
I was thinking of the fuling tower π
Yeah, the Sealed Tower. I love that one.
I mean, sure it's first if you follow the game's progression system yeah, it's just a slightly harder burial chamber, you can comfortably clear it if you have bronze gear
Same applies for the howling cavern/sealed tower and their respective biomes' top gears
Aight no longer going to bonemass, heading to Smouldering Tomb π
Have fun fighting uhh
No spoilers XD
Whatever the skeleton's name is, something with B or so
She has a cool trophy. Among my favorites.
The ashlands skeleton trophies are by far the coolest concept to me
Serpent was always my fav, havent seen the ashlands ones yet
The trophies alone aren't anything special
nothing beats bonemaw
But together, they create fun stuff
not even fader
I like hers better. Probably mostly because its hers, and only hers. Even though you can end up with a lot of them. π
Fog during night in plains is actually useful, as Viles have that "undead aura", which makes them more recognizable through fog.
Note, I did not say hers is the best in the game. Just among my favorites.
Solo trophies I'd probably give it to either stone golem or eikthyr, since both can actually fit inside the house lol
Yeah, the pigment change on your screen from gray to pitch black is quite noticeable
It is. Sucks for the growths, though. Thankfully those are usually easy to hear before they blast you. So I'd recommend hunting Viles in areas you have already mapped.
Slow enough to easily avoid when hunting viles so I usually just don't give a crap about em
So you never unkowingly go by a tar pit?
No, usually just spot them from a distance due to the difference in terrain color + the whiteness of the protruding bones around them
Alas vile hunting hasn't proven too useful in the latest experience I've had, wasn't exactly mine since I ended up helping my friend make the set and he then got absolutely violated by every creature in the mistlands
Didn't make the set out to be promising after seeing your friend get butchered multiple times lol
I just died on fodder hc ffs
Why does the mace, yeet Fulings 200m back compared to everything else hardly moving back each hit π 10/10
Modder
Well, good luck with that in heavy fog, in an unmapped area, at night. Yeah, my wife is trying it out for our newest trip into the Ashlands. I would guess she will do OK, since before, up to now, she wore the Root Armor all the way to Ashlands.
Climb up to the top of the sealed tower and try it out there
I played "how far can you launch the fuling" with my friend
They also make good golf balls
That's what I'm doing in my older world with my bow only character.
Yeah, the knock back can be fun. I do my best to hit them into rocks, walls, etc... when I want to kill them ASAP.
Testing out Vilebone set with Wolf sight trinket how busted the bow damage becomes lol.
Oh, yeah, that should be interesting.
I do the tanking, so my wife can try that out.
Speaking of ashlands I deeply miss the immersion I felt during the beta client playthrough, my first one
Feels like I'm going through the biome way too fast now
Hopefully DN will bring that feeling back, even though it's supposed to be more relaxing than ashlands
I/we explore a lot, so we spend much more time in each biome than most people here seem to, by how they talk about things. Like I explore many islands in each biome.
tips for building a second story with stone floors without a pillar every inch?
Core wood should do it. If not, the iron beams.
I've done up to 5 floors with core wood.
Plus the roof.
Use core wood as your framing.
It certainly is, with fully upgraded Spinesnap and silver arrows Viles just melt with less than 10 arrows.
Ironwood beams across the bottom.
Just like you would use the iron beams.
Ironwood pillars from said beams, but only down the walls.
Yeah I mean my exploration is just dependent on finding the things I need so it's up to luck for the most part
I didn't use iron beams at all for my 5 story tower. Just core wood. Also put them to the ground.
Just like you would for the iron beams.
Now, I did this tower maybe 3 years ago, so if they have changed build strengths, etc... since then....
Pretty sure they haven't, so core wood should do the job just fine.
Steam made hundreds of my screenshots go away for some reason. So I no longer have any.
ive been running bear paws this entire time, just unlocked iron, what weapons are good?
What else weapons you like to use?
Comes down to what you like. They can all be "good".
don't really care about style, more just prefer to minmax if theres any that are objectively better stat wise
Then, you want to have mace.
Probably the iron mace, then.
ty
Swords are something you want to start using soon.
Generally good idea to have all physical damage types covered (slash, blunt, pierce), as you have bear paws they fare well even in next biome until you get mats for next fist weapon.
I start when I reach the plains.
You can show her this clip: #memes-and-clips message
Your clip is 0 seconds long?
Seemed at first but now seems to work. Maybe was uploading or else.
Wtf is that draw speed? Mine takes like 2 hours to draw and shoot π
High level bow skill π i would say at least 70 but if its a test character i would bet 100
Lvl 100 bow level with bow only character.
Drawspeed scaling on bow skill is one of the reasons they are insane, and currently just outright better than Arbalests π
It was my bow only perma run so no cheats used.
Niiiiiiiiiiiiice
Melee is fun tho, bow is boring... Only needed it for a random Drake so far
Lots of woodcutting and feather gathering for that run tho.
Spears are good, til you yeet them off somewhere very high never to be seen again π
Skill issue π
Also just wait till the drake pulls up to spit. They have wings fully out making their hit box massive and they aren't moving π€·ββοΈ
100% skill issue, he wasnt even aggroed, so I was trying to hit the still target and completely missed π
Best practice for spear throwing is honestly spooking deer on purpose and then trying to hit while they run.
Or just... greylings while they run randomly.
Deathsquitos were a good target practice, but when you miss in troll armor, death comes for you
Troll Armor in Plains is... a choice.
any counter to being poisoned, any antidote type items
The Elder location was thru the tiniest of plains, I took the "She'll be right" approach, turns out it wasnt π
All the things we learn as we go.
Poison Resist Mead.
There is poison resistance mead π but you have to drink it before you get poisoned for it to help
Root Helmet provides resistance too
Poison Resistance Mead is stronger tho, but must be consumed before poisoned
Mead provides higher resist, yeah.
I love seeing the clips of people getting poisoned then popping the mead and wondering what it does π
Nothing π
Yeah they learn the hard way π
Speaking of Poison, I just tested, and Parrying a Leech, only gives a 3 second poison, vs the what 15 second non parry, also reduced the damage from 2.4 to 0.8 (no poison mead on atm)
Im assuming you cant parry the poison clouds from Ooze?
No you cant
That was nice! Got a trophy on my 5th and 6th Golem! 7th didn't give me one, though. π
Yo is it normal for two Sunken Crypt gates to appear? I believe I found two entrances.π
Ngl I feel like biome feasts should be craftable before defeating the biome boss
Thatβd be kinda dope
They would instantly become the best food in the biome if they did that.
So... plz no.
That you need the bog witch for
Also letβs not forget that serpent meat exists
Bog witch is rather hard to find
Best is best.
I prefer things to be a matter of choice instead of having an outright, objectively better option.
Best for the amount of effort
You can add any preposition you want.
Best is best.
You have a choice to either waste 3 hours finding the bog witch
Or just eat normal food
Finding the trader that you will want to find anyway is not a waste of time in any context.
Wasnβt hard for me finding her I seen her hit and ran into it and was like wow a safe space
Itβs very RNG dependent
She's the one trader that isn't a safe space though π
You have like a bajillion possible spawn location
Yay for madeup numbers.
Well that mightβve explained why that Draugr Elite ran into the protection circle
Bog witch got a broom that slaps the hell out of enemies
Instead of a barrier
She just has a "no build" bubble.
Dvergr are the ones who know how to summon safety bubbles.
Hmmm strange lady but I was glad for company
She is the one trader you will continually trade with.
Ran around back outside and made a safe place to sleep not too far from the Crypt Gate
Hildir needs a buff
Gotta get those spices and ||other bits||
Actually useless trader except for the armor that you have to slave away for just to get farming skill
How can you state something is useless and then immediately follow it with an example of what makes it useful?
Actually made a base not too far from Hildirπ
Itβs not worth the effort at all
Worth is subjecthive to the individual.
Hildr's garments are not objectively bad. They are a matter of personal preference.
Havenβt found the blacksmith dude tho I know heβs in a Black Forest somewhere
A cool neat reward that becomes absolutely obsolete compared to the amount of things you gotta do for it
Hildir has fireworks
Iβd like something more practical
Her farming set bonus is only obsolete if you pass like 90 farming skill.
Her base set bonus always has value unless you somehow finish building permanently and never intend to hammer or hoe ever again.
Yagluth power, yo
Theyβre the most practical way to make pretty explosions

Is there a special way to cook fish?
I'm happy that you truly believe that was a good comeback.
Need iron, build preparation table.
I hate arguing with you so much
Yes, they need to be prepared first at the prep table
Dang iron
When you are able to make valid points it will go a lot better π€·ββοΈ
Your opinion was βmy opinion was objectively better than yoursβ

Welp folks Iβm going into the Sunken Crypts wish me luck
If you consider correct information to be "better", then yes.
Correct is subjective
You don't need luck, you have weapons π
Very
This is false.
Me when 3 blocked rooms
Nope, itβs βcorrectβ to you
That's not how the truth works, but ok.
Your opinion doesnβt make opinions of others obsolete and the world does not revolve around you
I never said it did or even hinted that I believed that.
"hildir is useless because I don't like what she has to offer"
Sure bud
Her offers are rather expensive and donβt provide any buff worth the effort
I am suggesting that she gets buffed
You will have very good farming with all the farming skill + yagluth power by the time you finish all of her quests
Are there any confirmed changes/additions for 1.0? The new biome is given, but any rework of the old ones?
Is the farmer suit really worth all the quests?
Worth the effort in your opinion...
Objectively, she adds flavor and other useful things
The "worth" part is you putting your opinion in place of the facts.
Her set bonuses do provide value.
Confirmed? No.
I am not dictating the truth like you do, I am speaking my opinion and actively arguing over it
You try to push your opinion as sole truth
Theyβve said they are planning to make changes/additions to previous biomes, we havenβt seen any specific examples yet
It is if you know where to sit/not sit π
You are dictating truth when you say "not worth."
Because that isn't truth, that is opinion.
I am not stating an opinion when I say they have value, that is a truth.
Not worth, in my opinion
Does that make you happy
π
See, now I don't have anything to point out.
π
Yay, now donβt talk to me please
That isn't how public chatrooms work, but π
And ignoring and talking over someone is rude
Can you talk over someone in text format
OMG
Ra's Al Ghul would be so proud.
Have you finally learned to do what it necessary?
π€¦ββοΈ
"can you talk over someone in text format..." Yes
How
How's things with you Sevrahn?
"I cannot handle people pointing out truths that contradict my opinion. I will block all who speak the truth and live in the I AM RIGHT bubble I construct for myself." π
Got any new builds you're proud of?
Also I want serpent stew to be nerfed
Or harder to get
Kinda makes hens obsolete
Ooh, that's a very nice aesthetic
Thank you kindly.
Considering how easy serpent meat is to get
I just finished a bridge, working on laying out the perimeter for a port
Also if you wanted any insight into why the majority of suggestions get uber-downvoted π
What biome?
Meadows. Just started a new world with 3 inexperienced friends (3-11 hours), they designated me builder lol
And you promptly said "no peasants, build for thineselves!" riiiiight? π
Little island off the coast, makes a nice little port area
Nah, I enjoy building haha. Figuring out how to realize my idea
Speaking of meadows
Well, "easy" is very much relative π just look on how much complaints were/are there about bear trophy drop rate, that is 10% serpents have half that to even spawn, and that is when they are actually able to spawn.
Every time I have abundance of deer but like no hogs
Which is good for you.
But they need to learn or they will always be "inexperienced" π
RNG
thyselves* thine is only used if the following word begins with a vowel or vowel sound. "Thine own selves;" "thine honor."
Sure, I'll make them build a few things haha. But, they gotta learn how to survive initially first lol
Only 10%?
Well this would very greatly depending on how you pronounced "honor" π
Does the percentage rise in storms?
10% is the bear trophy, serpents have 5% to spawn either at night or in storm
Jeepers
Also true but it was the first word I thought of that technically starts with a consonant but is pronounced as a vowel in most dialects
Is it like 5% every 10 mins or what
Storms have also 5%, when its night and storm then the game basically rolls 5% two times
16m 40s
Yikes
I do still think it should not outclass chickens tho
Chickens are just way to easy to breed
On one hand you can get a stable supply of chicken
I really never go to farm serpents
Yhickens in Deep North? π
Yeti Chickens
I have a pile of serpent meat just because serpents keep bothering me and my friends when we sail
Then thank your rng for that π
Then thank your rng for that π
Inb4 their next suggestion is "rng needs a nerf" π
Would be nice if we got more usage for beetroot
There is no such item in the game?
I think itβs only used for that one Halloween decoration and magic mushroom outside of swamps
Or turnips or whatever you call them
He's not talking to you, remember. Sad that some people will stoop to such levels over a minor disagreement
2 build pieces and 3 foods
Wait
π€·ββοΈ
Which ones
+1 feast since you use turnip stew in taht
I can only think of turnip lantern
upgrade to cauldron
Oh it can be used for spice rack
Can be vs. Has to be.
I argued with that person before and I am very tired of doing so
I am saving nerves for me and the person
Only one of those foods is used outside of Iron Age tho
Grammar "group of bad people starting with N typically associated with 1940ties" are not fun Sev...
Especially on international server
Stuffed magic mushroom
Itβs a shame that you donβt really use the thing after you move onto the next age
If you dont feeed them to boars π
I should probably catch myself a few boars
Nepo babies?
No idea what that is and too lazy to google, but i bet it has nothing to do with valheim...
Also you can use carrots for that
I like what they did with carrots
A relevant crop even past its biome
And onions, and raspberies + blueberies
Mushrooms.
Wasting onion on a boar feels criminal ngl
Why? my personal favourite pre-plains crop to farm
You get onions fairly late
Infinite resources cannot be wasted...
And there are much easier options to give to boars
Like berri- never mind I need those for cooking
If you want to suggest carrots or turnips then i must inform you they are the exact same as for their difficulty of cultivating and thus ease of feeding them to boars
And as for berries... You cant plant those yourself
Not really, makes you go out, forage and take in all the beautifull scenery
I can see why we canβt plant berries but I would still like to do so
It's fine, berry trips are relaxing and you can hunt bears.
And get harassed by locals.
Hunt the necks
Last time I did a berry trip I had to run from a greydwarf horde equivalent of a small town and 3 brutes
Some of the brutes were starred
You wouldn't believe if I said... Rng.
Gasp! Be glad Blob isnt here to read this...
π
Tru
I meant Asksvin on vineberry runs! π
Those poor old necks... π
Buff necks. πͺ
Tameable necks when plz π
When you reach ashlands π
Neck-ception π
I'm sure some art person has done it.
yeah, theres a new map of my damn island.. i can kinda access my base from North and West, but no way on east or south, id have to boat so damn far around it
are they usually this bad? pic in help chat
Define "usually" in the world of RNG?
yes
It solely depends on the seed where it takes the place in the bigger map.
And on your choice of base location
Mountain base. No access at all. Problem solved.
theres no place on my spawn continent that i can easily access from all sides sadly
I find it so funny how already fast mobs turn into rockets when you slide up the difficulty scaling
Boars are so funny
Boars got a sip of that tasty mead
You can affect their speed and size using commands too π you should see how much fun there is with that
My rng completely sucks complete donkey doo doo i have been killing hundreds of bears and not a single trophy
Go find Haldor.
The bear trophy is a conspiracy made by the radicals at coffee stain to make you switch to goat sim
Whos that
Oh right i forgor
He has a bear trophy.
Dont you need two to complete the set or something
You need 1 for the hat, that is it.
I didn't realize the little blue freak sold those, learn something new every day
Nice, does he also not appear in every bf cause my bf map is completely filled out
Didn't say sold.
He has one. You can take it from him, not buy it.
Doesent sell it, but he has the rug
Even better
I get to do fa for the stupidest rng item in the game
Oh boy... You have not been playing for long have you xD
Ahhhh all it takes is a sprinkle of thievery
Ive played a long time but have made little progress
Moreso vandalism π @stray kestrel
Do you beat him up
You break his rug.
To-may-to to-mah-to
Any weapon that does damage.
Nice
You just need to reload the area first
Is there a trick to finding him cause I dont think hes in my starting bf
Spiral exploration pattern. He is tied to a radius from spawn.
Unless you want to cheat and look up your seed, just sprint around every black forest you find lol
hello I have a question about rocky, because he spawns 1000m away from spawn and there is no measurement option on the map, how do i now if im far enough?
Not even π€·ββοΈ Have been able to break it on spawn 3 times now without any reload.
You might have reloaded the chunk by accident, but you shouldnt be able to break it upon generating the camp the first time
Why "shouldn't" ? π€
Wait is it being breakable a glitch?
And how does one reload on accident while walking in a straight line directly to him?
Im glad im figuring this out before iron gate decide to patch it
Because when it was found out we did test it quite a bit π and this is what we found out
They may have unglitched it in one of their tiny patches π€·ββοΈ
And i dont want to say cant since i didnt look at the code or have exact knowledge how the "suddenly is breakable" part works
-# And i am also continuously loosing the ability to write coherent sentences... Time to go to bed
Is Haldor supposed to be in every blackforest or is it specifically that spiral explore thing sevrahn mentioned
Last 3 starts I have done I cheated and used the map, then beelined straight to him.
So idk where in that any "reloading" would have happened π€·ββοΈ
He has multiple dedicated spawn points and whichever you get close to first is where he spawns and the others just remain normal forest.
I was testing it by teleporting straight to his location, was unbreakable every time until the chunk reloaded
10 possible spawn points scattered around the world at least 1500m distance from the center.
Oh so he only spawns once too
Spawns on the first spawn point inside the render area and stays there for good.
Odd. Possibly tied to teleporting unless walking is repeatedly loading and unloading stuff. But idk π€·ββοΈ
Im gonna love this
Maybe, doesent matter much in the end, most likely it will be breakable once you get to haldor the normal way π
Im insensitive to measurements, is there a way to check how far i am from spawn. Is there a coordinates feature at all
Not really
Damn
In the eeeeeeend.
I kept everything inside (all the loot and collectables from every biome)
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
(When I ascend to Valhalla) what it meant to me will eventually be a memory...
π
You can teleport to certain coordinates, or you can look at random map in seed viewer webside to get an idea tho since that has coordinates
We explore strictly by vibes, not distance
If i explored by vibes, id stay inside away from all the bad vibes that every other biome radiates
SPEAR (have to yell because muted)
Clubs for sure
Clubs seem to be very good for a very large portion of the game
I upgraded from a spear to that
I donβt really see a good use for spears
Atgeir is solid though, bows are good supplement to any melee as well
Here we go...
Crossbow πͺ
I find bows mandatory
Crossbow?? Where do you get materials to make that?
Mistlands
Itβs called an arbalest
Very good if you didnβt bother to invest in bows perk
Very good even if you did invest in bows.
No need to worry about trajectory and damage is very nice too
I only just navigated to make a temp base near Moder and was terrified of crossing into mistlands the whole time, will be a minute for me
You shouldnβt really step into mistlands before defeating yagluth
You wonβt see anything and that terrain can be horrific to navigate through
Very fun if ur a fan or rock climbing tho

There is an unbelievable amount of game left for me to enjoy and I already have over 200 hours sunk lol
I love rock climbing
Youβre gonna have a blast in the mistlands
I try pretty hard not to spoil parts of the game I haven't been to, so while the terrain I've sailed past looks cool, I just worry that if I set foot there right now I'm going to get totally screwed
You will
Have no idea what's in store for me there
Do not go to mistlands until you defeat yagluth
Heard loud and clear hahah
They are useful and very good early game weapons. Throw arc is straight, making it more reliable for range than 2 first bows in game.
You can survive in pretty much every biome before killing the bosses of the previous biomes except for mistlands and biomes after mistlands
That's actually a huge tip right there. Truly appreciate the heads up lol
People have beaten the game in reverse, so every biome is possible at all stages.
Masochism truly knows no bounds
You know what kind of people are truly masochistic?
The kind of people who craft bronze arrows
Scary people
I canβt possibly imagine crafting bronze arrows
Whatβs yβall least favourite part of the progression
So far itβs been the Bronze Age for me
Swamp
I feel like the least favorite part is getting hit with a wolf raid in the midst of the plains
I got pretty lucky and found a swamp with like 20+ crypts and a Bonemass spawner in it so
You got Calvin with ya?
-# epic name btw
Honestly if I'm about to fight Moder, and mostly moved past the earlier biomes, I know the metals are still valuable. Between bronze, iron, and silver what's the most worth collecting going into mid/late game?
-# Standard Fable enemy π
You never stop needing iron.
The only really annoying part I find about the swamp are the ghosts and abominations
Tysm lol, my sister has always been Calvin, and when we played any duo game like Heavy Medic in tf2, we would show up as Calvin + Hobbes in a killfeed
Iron
πͺ
You need like a bit of bronze later on I think
But you will be needing iron
There can never be enough iron
So literally always iron, maybe some more bronze? That's crazy to me that I will need to spend so much time in the swamp, I hate that biome with a passion
Tbf with gear from other biomes swamps will be a cake walk
One thing about swamps
True I'm geared out with max silver currently and swamp is easy at this point, but going into it at first has been my most painful valheim experience
They seriously need to do something about surtlings
Wym
I donβt think that placing enemies made out of fire in the biome thatβs like.. flooded with waterβ¦ was a good ideaβ¦
I love it
Bronze and copper become building materials when you hit Mistlands.
Silver Sword is worth building if you have not. Otherwise, iron yes.
They just keep dying because they step into the water
I have a maxed frostner currently because I've been using clubs and maces this whole time, but could easily make a silver sword if you think I should respec?
You could just have both plus max Frostner is very nice
Frostner is very nice, actually
Has a good damage on its own, deals blunt damage (which is the best kind of non elemental damage, imo) and deals spirit damage
Love the split damage types on it but I know won't be that useful against Moder so have a draugr bow as well
Blunt frost and spirit yes
Draugr Fang is nice I love the visual look of it
As I said, I find bows mandatory
Nice ambush damage and really makes your life easier against certain enemies
Weird I thought I joined this discord in 2021. Did the old one get shut down or something? Maybe I left it and forgot? lol anyways hi!
Especially on mountains
Maybe
Welcome tho
I agree
I was just going through all the servers Iβm in and didnβt see the Valheim anymore, so had to rejoin
Thanks!
Speaking of blunt damage
I just did that actually too lol
Without a bow drakes are the biggest annoyance possible
Not as much about "respec" as it is that Silver Sword is BiS vs. Yagluth and has really good value for first contact in Ashlands.
It just kinda sweeps through most of the game
Wonder if they kick people who havenβt been active or something I dk lol
Blunt is nice
Spear π
Nah, I am still here
Makes a lot of sense actually, will likely be making a sword soon lol I have so much silver
I mean Iβve been in here for literally a year and just a few minutes ago is when I first typed so nahhh haha
Oh ok. Weird. Maybe I left it for some reason.
Can you not make a Black Metal sword yet or you can but itβs not BiS?
I came back to ask about some things. I havenβt played in a year and am finally playing again
Also clubs are usually the standard beginner weapon. When you hit Plains and get into blackmetal, highly encouraged to try out all the different types just to see if you like any of the other flavors.
Iβm surprised they still have added QOL features people keep asking for though
?
And I still wonder why atgeirβs heavy attack deals pierce
Did you see the newest update?
I have only collected a little bit of black metal but haven't tried to figure out how to smelt it

Yes
Ooo I will let u figure that out since itβs ur first play through
Thoughts on itΒΏ?
You can but Silver is still BiS specifically vs. Yagluth.
It pains me because atgeirs are my fav weapons and pierce damage is pretty bad
Yes all good lol I'm waiting to fight Moder then will bring it all back to base and see
Pierce damage is not bad...
What is the reason for it I forgot if Silver has anything special I havenβt played recently either
Spirit Damage.
So much things resistant to pierce
Iβm mostly talking about adding the option to drop nothing on death and then adding a hud/UI thingy for armor instead of it just being highlighted in your inventory.
Oh it has Spirit Damage right
Doubt they will ever add the first and I don't fully understand your meaning on the second.
To be fair, they would have to take away your inventory slots if they make a separate tab for armors
I like all the new stuff. Itβs awesome
The gameβs inventory is based around you managing the resources you collect and the gear you bring
Why would they have to take inventory slots away just to add an armor slot UI thingy?
This
Armor and weapons became a part of inventory management at this point
What do you mean "armor ui thing" ?
I dk why they wouldnβt make it an option. Loads of players want it, let people play how they want. And the second part was, like most games, have a separate window where you equip armor. I thought that would have been added by now too
And I donβt think they are planning on changing it
Are you meaning like have equipped armor not take up slots?
Ima be fair, if someone really wants that, there are mods for it
Like what most games have, an armor slot window thing
Like a different slot for armors like in most RPG games
Not the best solution but itβs still there
Right?
Right. Instead of taking up inventory slots, there is a seperate window with armor slots
Wait there are?!
Would be nice
If there are mods that add it then nvm lol
Yeah, contrary to what Razu is spewing -- they very much ARE considering changing it.
They had an entire feedback post solely dedicated to inventory changes in 1.0
thunderstore.com, they got a nifty mod manager called r2modman that allows you to mod the game very easily
I wonder when 1.0 is potentially coming out
Those 2 things have been requested since I started playing the game in 2021ish. Iβm just surprised it isnβt in the game yet is all
I donβt think we have a release date but I am hoping it will be around the middle of 2026
I figured something like that too
But better not get our hopes up
Priorities.
Also prior to the very latest update, inventory was purely a "skill issue" if people had problems with it. So no need to expand it at all.
But now it is a relevant talking point, so they are looking to change it.
Maybe these things will be included in a 1.0 release. I know so many people stop playing or donβt recommend the game to their friends because of the missing QOL features such as those two things I mentioned above.
Most likely we get armor, trinket, equipment, cape moved out. Giving you a total of 6 slots back.
Some people want backpacks adding multiple rows of inventory... and just... plz never.
I donβt have a problem with the inventory in general, just the armor being equipped in the inventory screen instead of having its own window throws me a bit
That would be really nice if it is, hoping itβs added with ya on that one
Valid.
And what you're looking for is honestly the most likely thing to be added in 1.0
I hope they do something about the cart getting stuck on a rock a size of a singular cell in 1.0
Carts are so frustrating to operate
They flop around, they get stuck
Really hope so. Game would be much better if those two things were implemented
Or at the very least make it an option
Still highly doubt the zero death penalty is coming π€·ββοΈ
Like a custom world option or something
I think thereβs a chance
Wouldnβt it be easy to add it to the slider though?
I have no idea on how they could fix it but I hope they do
World sliders go from complete death penalty to minimal.
If they wanted zero penalty, they would have put it on there.
Yeah
Iβm surprised they havenβt with how many people want it and how many people stop playing because of that small thing lol
I mean
If itβs a mod then eh thatβs fine
Teleporting animals would be cool
Ooooh yessss
Oh yeah
It could be implemented through a portal slider
Yes
You do have to draw lines at some point.
Making your game "for everyone" instead of "the way you envision it" is how so, so many games are just copy/paste shit in the current market.
Wolves were such a pain to bring to my home ;-;
Or even make a separate portal
Loxes
Lox*
Oh god hahaha
Or just make it a custom world option for those who want it. Especially for people who like to RP
I really want lox carts but people seem to dislike my idea
How many custom world options until your game is no longer your game and is simply "Gary's Mod - Viking Skin"?
I hope someone mods it in one day
That would be massive
Holdor already has it
You should do it lowkeyβ¦
I personally donβt RP, but Iβve seen a lot of forums of people complaining about dying while RPing and losing all their important stuff very far away and then rage quitting lol
One thing you gotta do is store some iron/copper nails in your base so you can sail back to your stuff
(Not at you directly) If you're legit raging over things you can simply spawn back for yourself... Plz talk to someone.
I donβt think Iβve ever rage quit before
π§’
There were a few times where I had to take a break from dying far away
Also, pro tip: Don't die. π
I did join the game later and got my stuff back legit way
Rage quit to me is the equivalent of throwing your controller across the room and shutting off the game lol. Yeah Iβm too old for that ish
I just cheat at that point haha
Too old?
I would probably tweak my arm for multiple days if I attempted to throw a controller with any amount of force π
Ill just use console commands instead
Thatβs what most should do although some people donβt even know you can just do that sadly
Getting ur stuff back from swamps and plains can be hellish
Ghost mode has saved me so many times
Fist fighting 5 mosquitoes for my stuff
Eh. Eikthyr makes gear retrieval simple.
Iβm remembering dying so many times in the swamp to a 2 Star Draugr Elite on my first run very fun, smile
Sprint in, grab, sprint out.
But like, that time could be saved if they just made it an option to not lose anything too. Like what Enshrouded does
Exactly
Sky biome when?
maybe an item like you can get in dark souls would be nice, sacrifical ring or something
Alr gn guys
That would be cool
Gn
Launch boat with catapult
Originally had zero sliders.
People wanted sliders.
They added sliders and basically said "if these aren't good enough for you, mod."
Which I see as a very good compromise that they in no way were obligated to offer. π€·ββοΈ
Sliders for what?
World options?
World Modifiers
Why did people want sliders?
Yes but why add sliders at all if it still doesnβt offer what many are wanting? Ahhh
Feedback and complaints, more customization etc
Donβt lose equipped items is helpful but certain circumstances I can see even that not working out for some
I think they offered what most were wanting.
And there's just a vocal amount who appear to be "many" remaining.
Most of what the sliders do are group of toggles. It literally removed customisations.
I assume these options werent there before, I suppose.
Nope
If you have a million+ players and you get it down to where a couple thousand have an issue, you done good son.
For awhile they werenβt
This is true
Pretty sure most of those millions donβt play anymore though
Flood back at release though
It's also like I said, how much can you compromise for any one group until your game isn't your game anymore?
Which makes sense
last time i played this game was back in 2022 and i think its gotten a lot better, i've put in about 40 hours in a few weeks
Truth nuke
How would it not be your game when adding options for players? Let the player who bought the game play said game how they want, ya know.
We're gonna need you to put in 40 hours per day sir!
Might as well not even offer mod support or cheats either
Oh yeah definitely a lot better
I'll let my boss know right away
This whole convo started because I came back to the game after a year hiatus and was just saying how I was surprised the two main things people ask for still werenβt implemented yet. However 1.0 could be the cherry on top
add big chungus
I feel we have perspectives that are too different to reach an eyeline on this topic.
Because I do understand accessibility as far as adding options for people with disabilities, colorblindness, phobias, etc. --- but outside of that, I personally see every additional "option to change" as a dilution of what your original vision was. Meaning the more you add, the less identity of your game remains.
Whereas you see it from an opposing (while still entirely valid) side of more options = better.
You are not in any way wrong - do not think I believe that or am saying that.
I just do not agree with your position, personally. π
Definitely. The core of the game is still the same. Itβs still the devs vision in the grand scheme of things. Adding a small option that allows players not to lose anything on death I donβt think is a huge deal at all though.
Thatβs fair. Thank you for hearing..seeing? Me out lol
If a punishment for dying is part of the vision of the game, that would be "core game" imo.
So an option to remove part of the core... you can see how there are 2 sides to this π
I am always willing to hear/read people out.
personally i think being to make an item that does that would be optimal, and would fit with the general tone
They took it down to 1% from 5%. That is much better when you have your skills close to 100 on a regular basis.
Wow
Its a world setting, default is still 5%.
Yeee I gotchu
Not to remove. Just some players use the options and some players donβt. Or maybe one playthrough you keep it on and the next playthrough once youβve gotten used to the game a bit, you turn it off. I just donβt see everything as black and white or one extreme for the other extreme.
Yeah, Zara is speaking to wanting to keep all inventory on death. Not just equipped.
I am cursed with not seeing things in degrees of severity. π
lol
Don't we keep most of our gear upon death? Been a while since I last died on the low setting.
On the lowest setting you keep all equipped items.
Armor, weapon/shield/arrows, equipment, trinket.
"Held" inventory is still dropped.
Thats a heck of a lot better than being naked. π
Indeed
Thatβs the equivalent of telling someone not eat just because they donβt like a certain food item lol
Just slam that:
F5
devcommands
god
Boom. Problem solved. ECKS DEE
That is preferred, but I can still do something stupid, etc...

Or the glitched enemy you canβt reach that keeps throwing things at you lol
Um... you have no idea how truly I actually hold to this π
Pizza to me comes in 2 flavors. If I'm with people and they order outside of that, I legit don't eat until I get home π
I had some star archer enemy stuck in a bone thing that I couldnβt kill. Luckily ghost mode saved me and I was able to retrieve my stuff and then finally kill him
2 flavors?
Thatβs super excessive lol
Cheese
Ham + Pineapple
Now I see why you think the way you do when it comes to options lol
I did say I am cursed π
Yep haha
;-;
To each their own but I donβt think itβs fair to try and control others though
Some of us have such ungodly hours playing this game that we rarely die. On the default setting, at least. Like I might die 8 times by the time I get to Ashlands. Then I start dying way more because I have yet to "master" that biome.
Apparently restaurants have these things called "menus" that have more food options than the one I always order..
Idk. Seems weird to have more than the "best" food available.
π π
Like just because you feel some way doesnβt mean you should try and control others and dictate what they do. If someone wants an option they should be able to use it. If you donβt want it, simply donβt use the option ya know. Thats why itβs an option π
Please point out where I am trying to control anyone? π
All I have stated is I find it unlikely they will add the no penalty change... that is not me saying they should or should not add it.
Thatβs because your best isnβt everyone elseβs best lol
When did this turn from me understanding you into you seeing me as trying to control you??

Not talking about you just in general
PLEASE clarify that in the beginning... π
Calm down lol. I was speaking in general not at you specifically
Sorry! π
Because I can think of at least 10 people here who actually believe that about me and will now quote you the next time they think they have a point... π
Lmao
If you did youβd be lying though since you took it out of context which I then corrected π
And also apologized lol
#screenshots When did these get added? Ive never seen one.
I smell pickles
Example conversation-
Me: 2+2 = 4
Them: NO IT DOESN'T.
Me: Well you're wrong π€·ββοΈ
Them: STOP TRYING TO DECLARE TRUTH LIKE YOU'RE ALWAYS THE ONLY RIGHT PERSON -- Here is someone else who also thinks this <link to you>
Has anyone ever smelled something random even though itβs not around you?
sometimes
We are good now that I understand.
I was genuinely worried/lost for a moment having no idea where the turn happened.
Brains are weird and fire random smells/sounds sometimes. π¬
Added what?
In this update.
Its a pre built arena type structure, with a skeleton spawner in the middle.
Yeah I really hate when I hear a Fuling out of nowhere sometimes
With the latest update π
If thatβs about me Iβm confused lol
Most of the time I don't agree with Sev, but he is very helpful, and very accurate when he is being helpful. Since he can't make me play the way he would prefer, any more than he can look at the game the same way I do... we get along? I guess. We seem to, anyways.
No, that is about the people who would take what you said in a general sense and think it is about me, specifically. Because they do believe that about me, specifically. π
lol
I see I see
My sole issue with you is that sometimes you use words that already have meaning to mean other things and it leads to confusion π

Confusion
First rule of the internet, don't give a crap about what people you don't even know think about you.
Yes
About YOU
Just apply this to life, and even if you do know them, don't give a crap either π
Iβm a people pleaser so Iβm just nice to everyone until they are mean to me for no reason then my small but mighty self snaps back with force
I do. I only really care about what my wife and kids think about me. Maybe even my dad. Some times. π
Earlier today he had me lost thinking there was an actual Adrenaline (word that means specific resource in Valheim) Mead when he was actually talking about Stamina (word that means completely different resource in Valheim).
Was perfectly fine once context was cleared up, but for a couple minutes there none of us knew what was going on.
There ya go! Lol
i only care what the voices in my head think of me
Wait facts
Ooh yeah, I could see why there was a misunderstanding lol
ICE CREAM! (Make sure to read ice cream in a forest gump voice)
Thatβs deep
im wide as an ocean, shallow as a puddle
I had a friend who went to therapy for "hearing voices" and it turned out to be... just the normal internal monologue that every human being has...
π

LOL omg
there are people who legitimately don't have an internal monologue, that's crazy to me
Psycopaths π
That sounds like something a toddler would be questioning
Yeah, something like 40% of people. Blew my mind.
Thatβs crazy
Since they donβt understand that concept
I sometimes wish I didnβt for certain things. Just give myself anxiety for no reason
Maybe there is a limit on how many internal voices are allowed, so Odin takes them from some people so that others can have multiple voices in their heads? π
Ok imma log now. This has been fun lol good night/morning/afternoon guyses
gn
My internal is the opposite of anxiety. Literal devil on the shoulder saying "DO IIIIITTT" to everything π
I used to have a lot of voices in my head. Then I figured out they were all me. Personalities I had created when I was very young. So I consolidated them all into just me.
I used to have a lot of voices in my head.
Then I took an arrow to the knee.
Fun fact, if you take medication, it keeps the voices at bay, and you no longer feel emotion.
I took meds like that, for different reasons. They gave me some useful help that I needed at that time.
Not something I want to do for a long period of time. A few months was enough.
Are we limited to three skeletts as of now? I thought we could have four.
I believe it is 3 + trolls.
and the troll is a loyal friend, right?
iirc they are a neutral "attack everything" summon.
Only thing they don't kill is the second summoned troll.
Yeah, the trolls will kill you if you don't keep enemies between you and them, or stay far away from them.
So I was walking through the woods and seen a hooded figure. Scared the ever loving poop outta me. Thought it was ole Grim himself
who wants to start a new world with me
That's Odin keeping an eye on you.
thanks
Well Odin needs to at least give me a warning next time
Cuz good lord that scared meπ
i once saw a 2 star troll stareing at me through some trees day 3
bought gave me a stroke
Dude them Trolls donβt play. I see one I go the other idc how long it takes I go
The trick with 2 star trolls is to kill them
π
dog i get close and i get turned into atoms
Thats because you arent killing them
Wait until the Swamp Fog rolls in thinks thatβs what itβs called
dog the old roots in the swamp
Happened to me the other day and boom killed by a Draugr arrow. Ran around naked for a few minutes but I hightailed it outta there
Old Roots are the giant spider things right?
One made its way across the ocean to the Black Forest I was in idk how.
I ran into two of them earlier tonight
They give lootsies though
What kind of loostsies
Special lootsies
Idk how to make mead and yes folks Iβm a noob at that stuff
I see big scary monster I go the other way
Mead Ketil is where you make the bases. Fermenters are where you... ferment it.
The trick with abominations is to kill them
I like barbecue over a surtling flame
This is the time where you can do like half their HP if you are quick enough.
I have the mead ketil just not the fermenter. Have to work on that soon enough
Bronze and a decent chunk of finewood needed.
where do i go to get white listed
For?
I need more copper then lol Iβll get started tomorrow
the offical server i think
No such thing
damn
There is no official server(s).
nevermind
Would be weird trying to fit hundreds of thousands of people into an "official" server when the population cap for servers is.. 10.
You can cram 100
Only if you modify.
Imagine having a 100 players the game would explode
Which bow do people consider the best?
I agree, I'm wondering what the norm is and what you all think
There genuinely is no "norm" in this context.
Every bow is better than the previous until you hit Ashlands, where you then have 3 options.
Most people are going to pick either Storm Fang or Root Fang.
But there is no "this one is better than the other" as they do different things.
I prefer normal ashfang because higher durability. Bows attack fast and deplete fast.
They all have 100/150/200/250 durability.
yeah but storm fang is limited to level 2, thus 150
None of the bows through mistlands have felt worth it since finewood
The damage increase is tiny and I can aim around the distance/velocity loss
Being able to shoot while running/jumping with the small stamina cost has been way too good
I'm really hoping the ashlands bows are compelling
ash fang can reach level 3, which is two full stacks of arrows
Draugr Fang poisoning people wasn't an upgrade for you?
Finewood bow can indeed get you far, but lemme tell you, the huntsman bow is noticeably better.
That's so little damage that 1 extra arrow is always better
Unless you're completely bottoming out your stamina bar (in which case-- why?) idk where you're getting 1 more arrow from?
also draugr fang is better for long range, which is moot if your aim is good
Well it's way more than 1 extra, finewood is 3/5 the stamina cost
Rank 4 Finewood: 41 Pierce
Rank 4 Draugr: 56 Pierce, 20 Poison
π€·ββοΈ
stamina becomes much less an issue as your bow skill increases
What does become an issue is the time it takes to kill your target. Like I said, finewood can do fine. Better bows does better.
Yeah.. Fine -> Huntsman with decent skill level is only about 2 more stamina per shot, which is... nothing.
And Huntsman has a ridiculously small noise radius.
Draugr is another +2 but adds the 20 poison damage.
wait, huntsman does affect noise?
Ash is legit going to cost you 8 more stamina per shot, so if stamina is the sole thing you care about.. you will never stop using Finewood.
Supposedly you can clear a fuling camp with a huntsman without any alerts
Yes. Normal bows have 15m noise where the arrow impacts.
Huntsman is 4m.
Its so weird, yesterday I was thinking of suggesting that the hunter's bow did less noise because its legit something that hunting bows have to do in real life.
Unrelatedly, I discovered that ice drakes are immune to ice. Go figure
Oooh ill have to reconsider upgrading to spinesnap or whatnot
spinesnap is awesome
@deft blaze out of curiousity -- what's your food?
Im still using draugr fang mainly
but you gotta have a high bow skill to use it "properly"
Spinesnap is definitely my favorite looking bow in addition to just being awesome.
Training skills takes 9.5 years... Which is a bummer
?
When I mean high bow skill I mean about 40~50
Build like 4 Crude Bows.
Build 300-400 wood arrows.
Summon Bonemass.
Spam, do not spend any time drawing, just click-shoot on repeat.
Swap bows when one breaks until all broken.
Use best mace to nuke the Mass.
Repeat until at desired skill level.
of course its mostly up to you to decide if it works out for you
I just felt that when I made spinesnap, I felt it depleted my stamina too quickly
Now I no longer have issues with it.
Snap definitely makes you feel it in the stam-per-second on draw, so you need the higher skill to make your draw speed fast enough that you don't have issues.
Vinny now has 21 in blood magic. Fear him.
You must fear, not fearing is the bodykiller.
2 stam 1 eitr, mistlands tier
This is my first run and I'm playing no map, no portal without looking stuff up (I don't know what the ashlands bows do and I don't want to)
So I really value stamina and being able to get away. It seems like half or more of my bow damage comes from arrows anyway, so paying 66% more stamina from finewood to draugr (6/s -> 10/s), for 29% more damage (finewood + frost = 119 -> draugr + frost = 154) doesn't seem worth it to me. Especially because so many enemies have been immune to poison
I've actually tried them all out for hundreds of days and gone back to finewood every time
I have multiple questions...
Like what?
eitr implies mage.
If mage, why only 1 eitr food?
If mage, why bow?
If not mage, why eitr food?
You can use the bubble thing even if you arent a pure mage
Can =/= Should π€·ββοΈ
Oh, you should if you can. Im using it right now and its pretty sweet.
Mage weapon and bow use entirely separate resource systems so why not do both?
Fire staff is really nice aoe (and different type of damage for resistant enemies), bow doesn't have any aoe
1 food is enough to lob a few fireballs to kill a pack of ticks or whatever
(The way you are currently playing is entirely valid and I am in no way attempting to tell you how to play)
You will get higher numbers if you fully commit to mage and run either EEF or EES.
You will also get higher numbers if you're purely a bow person by just committing to SSS, giving you the highest stamina bar possible.
This being said, im running three eitr food right now and I dont think its that smart.
I don't care what the numbers are, I'm trying to survive and kill stuff
I did that with the assumption that more eitr meant faster regen but its not really the case.
I find that position to be in conflict, as better numbers will increase survivability by itself and via making you kill stuff faster.
Not caring about numbers "because what I am doing works for me" is something I can completely understand and support though.
You can run and shoot the fire staff at the same time, and it doesn't use stamina, it's a really good way to kite enemies if you get into a bad situation
as for bows, as your skill increases, you should consider using more advanced bows. It doesnt really matter if the stamina cost isnt "worth" the damage. If you leave a battle with lots of leftover stamina, you could have used a better bow to kill your enemies faster.
As I said previously, if stamina is all you care about, you will never switch from Finewood.
Finewood drains 6/s, Ash Fang and variants drain 14/s.
keep in mind that better bows also do stuff like arrow velocity, knockback, and stagger. It aint just better damage.
It's obviously not all I care about, otherwise I'd be using crude
You can easily stun, say, a seeker with huntsman bow. You probably can with a finewood but it requires more work.
Stagger is a good point, but I never found the bows do enough to stagger the same-tier enemies
I just think the small damage increase for the huge stamina cost isn't worth it, especially when I'm not hurting for damage in the first place
Well, like I said, finewood bow works fine for a long time. I remember killing loxes with it.
This all rounds back to why I say "best is subjecthive."
Because your approach to bows is extremely rare. And why I encourage people to make their own decisions about what is "best" -- because your way WORKS for you, and swapping to what is "best" for someone else would make your experience worse.
Right, I knew that from the start, I was wondering what people thought and looking to have this conversation. It sounds like most people use same-tier bows, that's what I expected
I would say most commonly Huntsman actually gets skipped (unfortunately) because Finewood carries to Draugr Fang.
How many people use Spinesnap is harder to gauge because that's also when you get the Arbalest.
I run, jump, climb things, float around and loot stuff, shooting arrows the entire time and it's great. The cheap bow makes it really possible to stay alive while doing it
The firestaff comes out when I'm low on stamina, fireballs while it regens and never stop moving
It's odd that spending stamina blocks eitr regen but spending eitr doesn't block stamina regen.
That's most of the reason I did 1 eitr, it felt like almost free damage/attacks
I think the queen would have been so hard with just arrows, or the expensive bow
Maybe I just need to man up and die a few times learning the boss attack patterns
Queen in melee is so easy on this patch tbh.
Melee feels like a trap on bosses
Melee is the fastest way to kill all bosses.
I'll give it a try when I'm back over there
Building is technically the fastest way to kill the first 2.
Then melee for the rest.
I also do bottom out my stamina, but only when my stamina potion is off cooldown, but it's always ready by time I have another emergency
May I interest you in the best stamina potion in the game? -- Tasty Mead.
I tried it and was very underwhelmed, how much stamina do you actually get out of one use?
More than a full stamina bar.
But only if I stop using stamina for 10 seconds?
You have to run without sprinting or rolling while it works because it is a massive regen buff.
With zero cooldown.
That stacks with Lingering instead of being blocked by it.
I feel like that'll get me killed instead of saving me
Shouldn't need the full 10s to refill tbh.
Usually takes only like 5-6.
So it's something you pop, roll away to create distance, walk for a couple seconds, roll again if needed, walk for a couple more seconds - full stamina bar.
It is definitely something you have to know how to use properly, but once you get it down it is uncontested the best stamina pot.
And?
You need to regenerate for 6s out of a 10s window.
If you roll once or twice in the middle of that you're still fine.
if my problem is that I want to run a long distance, I absolutely agree it's nice, and using lingering with it is best
but for me it's "I don't know how this enemy works, and I just got hit for half my life. I'm running and now out of stamina, and he's right on top of me"
I can't roll, because I'm out of stamina. And more regen won't help, because I need to run or roll. What really seems to help is getting half a stamina bar instantly
I am pleasantly surprised by how much silver my rather small starter mountain has. Plenty of wolves and golems too. I need to look around and see if it further surprises me with a cave.
I would say you ran too far in that instance? Most every non-mage, non-boss enemy in the game has attacks that you can avoid by simply walking away from them steadily.
So you don't need that much separation to have a space where you can regen.
You said most, and if I don't know how this enemy works I'm going to put significant distance between us. I've seen what this game is willing to do
It definitely takes some practice to learn how much distance you need, etc...
But it does work. Most of the time.
Outside of the dverger mages you have met, the only one catching you is Deathsquitos.
Growths can nail you. Plus groups make it harder, like fulings.
Lox never catch me, even with a lower run skill. Seekers kind of cheat, with their flying and the terrain. π
The trick with seekers is to kill them
Deathsquittos can attack, but they don't hit. Until you stop running.
I could video spawning in enemies and walking away from them, but you have the way you play and again, I am not telling you to do anything different.
Enemies stop when they attack. So that's when you walk and they can't hit you. π€·ββοΈ
Golems have a bit of reach, so they are more tricky.
Seekers vs. Morgen π
I also have a handy trick for morgens
The trick with anything is to kill it first. π π
All non-trading Dverger must die!
It works pretty well for my wife. Its what her "savage aggression" amounts to. Killing them first.
She does not use shields, or dodge roll, she just attacks. It amazes me how little she dies, compared to what I expected, at least.
Stay I'm using 3x stamina food, best case scenario for tasty mead = 290 stamina
Stam potion = 160 instantly = + ~55% stamina bar instantly
Tasty mead = +100% regen = 145 (natural) + 145 (tasty mead) = + 50% stamina bar over 5-6 seconds with some finess and planning
It's worse in every single way
IIRC she has only died twice in our currant play through, and we are pretty much done with Mistlands.
Sure π
I did the math, you can disagree all you want
It's been kinda clear that's your goal here
I'm sorry, you did the math, completely leaving out the cooldown variable... which means your math is wrong.
But π
That's a good point I forgot about that
Sometime you gotta try things. Its not just about the math.
Like I said I have
You can use both at the same time
Tasty meads disappear chugging them, a 10 stack of potions lasts me a whole session and actually saves me. I've tried them
you know you can make more tasty meads, right?
Sure, yeah, I can get more materials, make more, and dedicate more inventory space
In order to use the one that gives less stamina, but is able to be used more often
when I already said the 2 minutes is often enough for me
you're right I could do that
And oh woops they're not on my bar anymore because I used the last one and need to get into my inventory while fighting
Vinny has made mistland and ashland feasts.
The mistland feasts were annoying to make.
does hugin always show up in the bath once you make it?
in the hot tub?
yeah
yes he does each fresh playthrough unless u turn off raven hints
that's so cute
Hugin needs to stay clean to lol
Are there any Russian players? I'm writing in English because of the server rules. If anyone wants to play, write me a private message.

I mean my first thought was oh god that water gonna be oily as heck
but maybe viking fantasy purgatory tutorial birds aren't gonna make my bath water dirty
but then bird friend started kinda playing in the water and it was too cute to be mad

I have a question about the devcommands. Does the setkey dungeonbuild work for xbox?
Why does the scaling in this game so great? Our group struggles also how big of a range is 80m or 100m whatever that distance iis?
