Mountains are often pretty close to spawn- far from rare. The deterrent is the freezing effect, but of course there are ways around that.

Tonight, I found 2 x 1-star boars. A solid upgrade for my boar farm. And they were only one continent over, nice and close to sail back to one of my safer bases.

After the entire 4 hour playthrough, I'd made 3 piglings, put them on the longboat, sailed them over, and they died from a sea serpent I then couldn't wrestle to shore. He escaped with a sliver of life, and because he was a night-spawn, he's gone forever.

I went back, grabbed one of the 1-stars, and watched him happily hop out of the boat on the way home for the second time.

True but steps can be undertaken to not make that happen.
Do not cut trees near a bush, do not fight near a bush.
Build a little shack around the bush.
Also there are loads of bushes and can often be found in clumps, the biggest strawberry bush cluster I found were 8 bushes all next to each other, I protected that one.

Mark bushes that are in clusters of 6 or more and just use Eikthyr to do a sprint-line every in-game week or so.

Wiki states that axes give 1.5xp per attack on a creature - checked this on a new character, everything is kosher.

Cooking, however, is weird:
Wiki states: "1 per food craft, 0.4 when placing items on a Cooking station, 0.6 when picking items"
However, it actually takes four food crafts to get to level 1, or four cooks (adding a meat, waiting for it to cook, and taking it off) to get to level 1

I grabbed a save editor and checked a new character that I've been checking this against, and after three food crafts, it shows me as having 0.75exp in cooking.
What I find strange is that the wiki seems to have the 1x from cauldron and 0.4x + 0.6x from cooking station correct...

I'm unsure if this is intentional, and the wiki is wrong (though it seems correct, considering - or if this is unintentional)

Tin and copper are found in the Black Forest biome, tin near water (oceans/rivers) and copper just anywhere. Copper nodes are big rocks, but they have faint copper traces in them. Hovering your cursor over one when close will pop up “copper” in white text. That’s a good way to tell if it’s just a rock or not. Tin is much smaller and gray. You must refine and combine them to create bronze.

Swamp is pretty difficult, yeah. Best thing you do is to look at your approach. Prepare by getting the best food available to you currently, get solid gear and meads.
Upon arrival, pay attention the draugr. They approach from far away, but move really slowly initially. Take advantage of this, and pay attention to where the shallow water (leeches) are.

If you move too quickly, you’ll be overwhelmed. Address the enemies you come across, don’t let them outnumber you too greatly.

Ah, Moder, yes she does take poison but its generally better to go with pure pierce dmg since poison doesent stack so you would need to wait for the effect to end before shooting again to get all the dmg
