+10-20 so the total would be 50-60
Is the 40% not representative of if you take 40% of your hp you get staggered
If the limit is increased, you need to take more damage to become staggered
okay yeah that’s mb my brain is not mathing rn
So that’s essentially a 25-50% boost to your ability to recieve all damage types in the game with movement penalty between root and heavy armor vs 50-75% resistances against 3 damage types at the cost of heavier movement penalty
Brain not braining is usual occasion when just woken up. 👍
That is indeed the case, ima go brew a coffee lol
hello
thats called danger
and you probably increase your defenses when you live in ashlands
Thanks man lool
You can't and you likely never will ^^
sorta yes, trolls mine okay but you have to dodge their hits and lure them to the ore, its not super fast and more like a workaround for people without a pickaxe
the troll with a log is a bit better for it
Wow lol that sounds creative. lol I've just been mining copper for two hours and kinda running out of time to do fun things in the game. I was seeing if there was a way to get through the grind. But letting a troll mine it for me sounds fun. I gotta try that.
I'm getting back into this game and I haven't played for a LONG time (back then the plains was the last biome iirc)
I kinda lost track of the updates, how many more biomes are there now?
also you don't need a huge amount of copper, don't need to make everything
7 land biomes with content and bosses + the ocean and 1 unfinished biome with nothing in it yet
7? holy crap
Oh I thought i had to make a fully upgraded Tunic, Leggins, Axe, Sword and Shield to go to swamp.
And Pickaxe too
I use troll armour for swamp + poison mead (mead ketill is very imporant and also the cauldron for food and the cultivator
pickaxe is optional, it has better durability then antler one, I don't always make it, the next level of ores can still be mined with the antler one
I thought upgrading my copper kit fully would allow me to easily take down abominations. I guess there are better ways?
but if you're super new and don't mind the slowing down of heavy armour, you can totally make bronze armour is just a tad expensive
abominations can be taken down in lots of different ways
Everyone has their preferences, I like to use copper to make all available bench/forge/cauldron upgrades as a priority, fermenters too ofc, in terms of equipment, i usually just make tools rather than armour or weapons, maybe make the bronze mace, and stick with finewood bow/abyssal dagger/troll armour for entering swamps.
a buckler, a bronze sword and some good food and at least upgraded troll armour is one way to do it, fire arrows is another
oh nice
Noon gjall.
So I can survive with Troll armor. Well that's a relief.
slash damage (sword and axe) and fire damage are good options for the abom
Luring them to stand over a surtling fire is the easiest way i've found when undergeared.
and you can upgrade it to level 3 too if your workbench is high enough
Wow lol that sounds fun
Oh yeah its at level 3 now.
that is the most cheese way, even cheesier if you parry them while they stand on there, it deletes them, is quite fun ys
Lol I love this
Valheim has lots of cool things like that
I am currently doing another new map, keep starting new playthroughs and also in swamp again
A crypt is usually low enough to the ground at the back that you can drop a crafting bench and climb up..... then the abomo simply can't hit you while you carve up it's face
I just 10mins ago had a wraith kill 10 + greydwarfes for me haha
you can start in swamps?
no but you can go there quickly
after a few playthroughs you can be from 0 to swamp in a bout an hour easily
there is also Valheim speedruns, but don't recommend watching that until you first experienced some stuff for yourself without spoilers
Alright guys thanks for the tips. I'm gonna try to troll mining, and Abomination tricks
i really like the swamp nowadays, hated it at first.
true, kill Eik after 2-5 mins when you have the trophies, then Elder as soon as you find him within the hour if lucky enough normally not hard to find and if he is not across a big sea etc, then you could be in the swamp in the first hour or 2 with some troll armour
probably 2nd fav biome for me Ashlands then Swamp, but DN will probably top it
Swamp is such a level up, both in terms of required situational awareness and combat abilities and in terms of how powerful your character is after finishing the swamp biome
If I was going to say all the good things about the Swamp I'll be here for a long time haha.. like Huntsmen Bow one of the best in the game
when I was noob I would sleep on it and rush the fang
looks much better than Draugr fang anyway, not really into the overly fantastical glowing stuff so much
yeah it looks amazing, but sniping Fulings and Seekers is the best though
their friends just stand nearby and giggle haha
sneaky sniping never gets old, regardless of what game i'm playing
Skyrim Stealth Archer = Huntsmen bow
Weird because I find huntsman bow to like, very costly for what it can do
do you know about the noise levels of bows?
I usually just rush draugr fang and keep using the fine bow
Hold on, bronze armor is only 5 bronze ingots a piece??? That’s 15 ore per piece compared to 20 at iron and above so why do I always hear that bronze armor is ridiculously expensive
That I do not know
5 bronze is 10 copper and 5 tin, so 15
aesthetically, its one of the last "real" looking bows, but it has a reduced arrow landing noise that makes it great for sniping large groups
Did it used to be more expensive?
no but people don't like mining copper because of the "friendly" tree men and trolls interrupting
Ik I put that
Oh no not my free delivery of wood and stone
its expensive in that it can be totally skipped no problem
I used to hate the swamp, but I realized it's actually one of the nicer regions to grind
It's the tin hunt for me. Copper is easy. Where as iron just requires iron
Huntsmen bow has about half or less the noise levels of other bows, so you can shoot something and another mob standing nearby will not be alerted in a lot of cases, all the other bows can't do that sniping
Oh that's actually really good
I usually skip it but I’m attempting bosses in reverse so I’m gonna have to skip iron armor due to no access to crypts
May I know the strategic advantage of Huntsman bow?
It alerts enemies in a smaller radius
That's neat
Copper deposits are large! Dig a trench around one to expose it. You can mine in peace afterwards. A friend showed this to me a while back and I was quite surprised just how large they really are
Huntsman bow ftw. 👌
Parrying aboms can work but uhh
Don't try to fight aboms until you have your iron armor
Im gonna try the surtling fountain trick
you can also walk / run & roll around them while they stand on a surtling spawner
Oh wow
Surtling fountain works yeah
dig the whole thing out and put your smelters inside it, mob safe and can process ore as you mine
I generally just run away from them
Not me throwing my spear at the ground just to aggro anything nearby
Fighting abominations with black forest equipment is much easier than fighting trolls with flint. Troll armor and a bronze buckler is more than good enough to fight them melee.
Until I get iron armor and shield
abom armour is cool though
Hitting the middle part (staying underneath) makes it so you only need to dodge/parry 2 of his attacks. The big stomp cannot hit you while you are under it
That's what I've been doing so far. They almost take no damage
What weapon are you using? Slash damage from a sword or axe is best
You need to parry, from my experience to deal significant damage
With bronze buckler, troll armor, carrot soup+turnip stew+boar jerky its quite doable 🙂
Fire arrows and bronze sword
However parrying with only troll armor leaves very little margin of error
that or high weapon skill in the 30s or higher does make a bit of a difference too
Since you can get staggered in one hit
axe is not just for choping wood 🙂 it helped me ... first fight i was using mace and it sucked 😄
axe is slashing so good, but sword is slashing and attacks faster than ax
oh my god
i usually avoid Aboms until i have an iron buckler tbf
I find skill breakpoints is to be 30 and 60
You'll notice a big difference when you hit those lvls
I have a char with lvl 72 sword, it deals almost twice the damage
Bronze buckler is more than good enough for abominations
Than a 0 skilled one
id have that i wasnt dieing all the time 😛
I have a bronze buckler hanged on the wall
sure it is, doesnt mean that I am though haha
Abominations wouldn’t be put in swamps if you weren’t supposed to fight them with black forest equipment
I rock battle mage build in Ashland
It's so strong it makes the game trivial
I also have elemental magic trainer and blood magic trainer
One hour of grinding and I reach lvl 40++ from 0 skill
I rock "hybrid" I call it like a Super-enhanced melee fighter with strange talents or something, HSE food, protection and wilds staff and jade axes and a bow, all you need really
Two hour can reach you around lvl 60
I rock a building hammer as my main
There is really no need for purposeful leveling of skills tho 🙂
How many hours do you guys spend mining copper?
This. I craft the bronze helm for this kit as well
Yeah I go HSE too, I just use stuff of protection, wild staff, axes and bows
Then remove the mage helm for a heavy helm (since they have no move reduction and regen eitr the least)
once you reach 7th biome you can mine 90 copper in 1 second (spoilers so I m not describing how)
I have 104 armor as a battle mage build, which is considering how frail pure mage are, it's insane
Oh nice!
thats exactly same setup as me haha
Late game are a completely different game compared to midgame
I do think that has been patched no?
usually get everything i NEED in a single copper deposit, so, not long, although i build like crazy so tend to use a lot more if not trying to progress.
Dual axes and wild staff are an OP combination
I feel it trivialize the game
its crazy fun yes, but need jade, because iolite hurts my friendos
Alright cool
if you think that just turn to H or VH
That's nice to hear
I usually rock iolite for my axes
gonna singe a few beards with that
I don't have pvp on so it should be fine
nah mean the dvergrs
Would say they are completely different in design so like
It will be fine
Oh lol they usually just
Die too fast during skirmishes to even count
I'm comfortable enough to solo Ashland, just hasn't tried to solo fader yet
its like an matter or principle for me, I dont want to hurt them, I want to protec!
not too hard with our setup to be fair
<- Best Jade weapon, axes come second.
for N I prefer the axes, for VH or H the klossen for sure
I soloed queen with frostner because I'm a masochist
Queen is harder than Fader especially if you do not use magic
But overall she's a step up from previous bosses
The constant seeker Spawns is annoying
If you rock magic all you gotta do is do an SEE and spam fireballs ngl
I accidentally made two fully upgraded copper tunics so I'm taking a small break from the game.
Or maybe FEE also works
Happens
I suggest not rushing bronze age
almost a right of passage for when you're new
Sorry I mean, iron age
That works well for mage, beginning from Mistlands feast.
hands up who has made 2 fine wood bows at some stage haha
Bronze age you can rush
What am I supposed to do then?
you can rush anything if you want to and have the skills to do it
I find bronze and silver age is the most skippable age
Just take your time tbh, you don't need to rush the endgame
Can take a break and come again once freshed
What am I supposed to do instead of mining iron at the swamp?
You NEED TO PLAY at the SPEED that is the MOST FUN PER HOUR for you 🙂
Get more iron
Unironically
You will need it
what
Iron.
Iron age I suppose is the longest age
Agreed, all the bronze/copper I get is for the essentials, fermenters, cultivator, workbench upgrades and more to keep for later on. Silver I just get some for a bow and the workbench upgrades
the devs are called IronGate, thats why you need many hundreds of iron (a weird theory of mine lol)
I only find silver age stuff worth making to be frostner + draugr fang
butcher block too, also the shield I do love, looks super cool, and the sword even has a place in Ashlands, and for Yag its sooooo good
Fang spear is good and costs very little silver.
Out of 3 weapons I consider to be OP
The other two (jade staff + dual axes) are lategame stuff
Frostner is the only midgame weapon I consider OP
Frostner is just, so usable even up to mistland
Im gonna get back to the game once my burn out is over. Wish me luck guys.
Silver sword does more damage than mistwalker against charred and costs much less stamina
also silver arrows worth it in Ashlands if you are limited to bow because you set yourself a silly challenge as some do haha
There's no slow though
But I agree
but much less stamina use
I don't think many limit themselves with only bow unless they do a challenge. 😏
Slow is not necessary
yeah I did that last playthrough haha
only bow and 2H hammer, was dicey in Ashlands
Same. I carried stack of Frost, silver and wooden arrows everytime.
I did not use any melee.
the frost arrow farming was a grind thats for sure
For bonemass did you wait until you had frost arrows?
don't need to if your skill is high, just wood and flint and repair the bow a lot
Did a trip to mountains to get mats for frost arrows yeah.
Stack of frost should be enough.
yeah, but for wood it isnt
I know heh.
I couldnt be bothered going mountains beforehand
I was surprised by how good it worked in mistlands, and also how bad it went in Ashlands
Using cheap arrows is a good way to gain more levels at the same time I guess
I did also because there was a visible Frost cave where I got enough mats for fenris chest in my playthrough.
I also properly used Fenris set for the first time that playthrough, usually previously I only used it for like a few hours
this time I used it in 3 biomes
Same, wasn't used to "avoiding getting hit" playstyle so had to use Harnesk at the beginning of Ashlands until I got full Ask set.
The mines were so easy with it
Fortress less so haha
I wanted to find and clear all fortresses in that world and I did it without the ram.
I never use a ram, my go to is wooden stairs without a shield gen, and then wooden stairs to middle tower and demolisher the top (havent tried if stag works too but I would prob fall asleep doing that)
When I play too much Valheim and saw a structure, I goes: "I wonder if I can build this in Valheim"
If you want to take the time to not use the ram just use a pickaxe on a corner to get into the middle
I am wondering if the devs are gonna make us use the siege machines in DN, making building up to it impossible and also the pickaxing inner tower etc
this and also in the sims
this is the way
Stairs to get over the wall and pickaxe to get inside the tower.
For me Valheim is like the Sims on steroids
My reasoning for using the ram is just to save me a lot of time and I will need a stone portal for the metal anyway. Best tip to destroy the ram is to set it on fire
same for longship dismantling, its so quick
but wheres the fun in that
fun for me 🙂 Ram and Catapult are beautiful base decorations for me 🙂
I havent even made a catapult yet, dunno what to do with it
its for launching you across half of the map, a new fast travel method!
yes but where would I put such contraption
top of a mountain? put on feathercape and strap in!
its a fun plaything
Maychance
I suggested a multi tier catapult tower. Different heights different distance
wait there are catapults now?
last time i did a full playthorugh mistlands werent even a thing, other than beta testing those areas with dev commands i am so behind
Highest possible mountain.
They were introduced in Ashlands.
this is gonna be such a fun playthrough
so much has been added, taking my sweet time enjoying all the new stuff
Then get away from here, no spoilers 😮
What are you doing there then? Don't look at any spoilers!
damn Joel that was wild
use it to enter castles
I know. 👀
haha it was just a breif excursion during the beta, i assure i spent most of the time drowning in lakes of lava 😁
I make stairs like a peasant
do you wanna be besties
carapce shield and frostner on ashland at ur first land
Besties.
🫶
#screenshots message uh this was more challenging than the first one
Yesssssss!
Put it on a wall - then when the ground is shaking you throw things at them 😂
I have ballistae and 2star wolves for that
It is a better solution to be fair 😂🤭
but looks so destructive, I have DECOR
After the latest patch there has been a noticeable amount of sound stutter in the ashlands, anyone else noticed this?
I noticed the same during this PTB, but apparently it has been longer in game, maybe more noticeable after this patch.
Or maybe catapulting three players over a vast detailed landscape makes the engine cry for help
Only occasion I noticed stutters in music was after returning to game after a long pause.
I noticed this last night in the putrid dungeons it was mostly stutter with small breaks in proper audio, it only happened a little in the overworld though
And I have not noticed audio stutter like that before
Is it possible to use bows as my main weapon throughout the game?
Iirc when I last played I very rarely used my bows
I mainly relied on parrying with shields
have yall ever got so afraid of a boss that you just keep creating new world for building ?
xD I swear after the 3rd boss I am way too afraid to try the next one
I love the snowy mountains thooo
Friend of mine that has compleated the game sed he ran it with arrows mainly
Definitely lol, but it also gets a bit tedious to play solo after the 3rd boss I usually feel overwhelmed and then uninstall the game because it is a little boring solo
If you make a terrain pillar to use as a shield against her projectile attack, Moder isn’t particularly dangerous.
same that is why I was kinda looking for people.
The 4th boss was the most difficult for me from what I recall
no idea if I have the corage to ever meet the 4th boss
Then again, plains was the final biome last time I played
the 3rd one was sutch a nightmare
I ben to most all the bioms just not summoned more bosses
what weapons do you guys use for the howling cavern? im not doing any significant damage to the boss whilst he shreds me to pieces in the long run xO
I have no idea what any biome after plains looks like
I died 6times to the Blob before finishing him off...
4th boss isn’t as bad - just prep effectively and have an escape strategy
Apparently the game got 7 extra biome since then?
it was one of those games I summond and planed out to meat with friend to help me out xD
Wolves are normally the thing that kills you in to at fight
So are there 12 biomes bow?
O.O multiple wolfs you say ???
2 star wolves are a nightmare
even 3 wolfs are hard ti kite around.
tho fire arrows kill them deasently fast and bronce ones
There are seven currently, with one more coming with 1.0
it is just mader of not running outa stamina
I remember the goblins and deathsquitos being the most annoying enemies
If the goblins don’t have a spear you can just jump their attacks
It is. I have done a "bow only" challenge in one world from beginning to the end, defeating all bosses and minibosses plus clearing ||all fortresses in Ashlands||. Tedious woodcutting and drake hunting is required.
They can throw spears.
Ohh I misunderstood the last person then, but damn 2 more biomes is cool too, I wonder what else got added since launch too
Just hippedi hoppedi xD I love the funny dodges
Any new weapons or tools?
Jumping is always better than rolling if the attack hitbox isn’t too tall
In new biomes? Plenty.
Oh sick then
Nice nice, I won't only play with bows but I do want to use them more than I did before
There are also ||new NPCs|| to be found in world.
idk why I never liked rolling personally just a mental block. I feel I would get stuck on stuff on the ground.
so many times I get stuk on brantches and stones so jumping it is xP
I had a hard time getting back into Valheim (not the game's fault, it was for personal reasons) but I just got back into it earlier today
Several times now I tried to play it again and ended up chopping wood for a few minutes, getting overwhelmed and then stop playing
There are world modifiers now too. You can increase drop rate for example, makes gathering materials less tedious.
Interesting
I was also considering maybe using a mod to let me carry ores through portals, but I ended up not doing it cuz it feels like cheating
oh in that case would you enjoy playing on server that allredy has some progress on it together?
There is a modifier for that now too
Yeah, for more casual play you can change that option from world modifiers too.
yeah I allso avoid the mods because it seems to take meening away from the game.
I like playing it with the midset things are supposed to be chalenging because then it feels more revarding once you do progress.
Maybe! I'll think about it, mind if I dm you so I can remember to come back to you on that? I won't be able to play until evening so yeah
sure thing :3
Hm, I'll think about it
And there is nothing wrong using them to play as you like. 👍
I'm just thinking about it because I remember enjoying how chill some of my ore runs were
Cuz in my previous world, to get black ore I'd need to sail for like 5 minutes to get there, and then sail back to my base
Thinking about it, maybe I should've built a 2nd, smaller base closer to the plains
Personally while getting metals some bout rides were 10mins or more. Friend and I watched youtube together or chatted about life.
or hed do his homework when he still was in school xD
They can also be reverted back any time you want.
Until a serpent shows up
that is why we were on voicecall
I'll keep playing with default rules for now, if I get annoyed enough I'll consider it
when serpent showed up it was fight time. I love hunting them so mutch
theyr dropped items can do so many pretty things.
Tbf I remember serpents being not much of a threat later on
or the cool turtle I only seen twice
Turtle?? Never seen that
Serpents are balanced to be fought with black forest equipment
serpents are easy as long as the wind is on your side and you get it to follow you to the shore
A leviathan, a small living island with barnacles you can mine
Ngl I kinda wish that there's bigger sea creature somewhere in the map that's a bigger threat than a serpent
There are a stronger variant of serpents in ashlands
Oh sick
I always wished Valhaim would had added spear with rope for fishing and hunting serpens
it would be deasently acurat to the old storys
Is ashlands the newest biome?
Yes
Oh that emote you did on my message. It exists in valhaim? I never had one :..(
You can craft it with chitin from leviathans
it looks likeit might ben done with the turtle shells
thas the name of the huge turtle I saw twice right ?
it kept swimming away while I mined the shells it was really hard to get anything from it without dieing
Every time you hit it, there is a chance for it to start sinking 🎰
Can't you make a bow from serpent mats? I forgot
I remember using a green bow for a whiiile
Nope, but you can make shield and food 🙂
Green bow is probably ||Draugr Fang||, a mountain tier bow.
That's it! Ty
what is a deathsqutio and why did it follow me back to my portal all the way through the swamp
it one tapped me
Because that's what enemies do
Try to avoid plains biomes until you have mountains equipment
I think Ill just avoid it in general
When my friends and I tried to kill that boss for the first time we were on a literal slope side of a mountain, and after we got the boss to about 1/2 health she wandered off to find some friends 😂
Many deaths from wolves, drakes, and stone golems later… 😂
anyone else addicted to getting half way into the iron age, then deleting world and character and starting over. I think ive done this 50 times now 😛
But Mistlands and Ashlands are so fun
Can’t say I am, what makes you want to start all over at that point ?
I dont know but its a real problem lol
I could name one reason why I dont wanna get farther then 3rd boss.... the 3rd boss
im training my skeletons in a grey dwarf spawnpoint for blood magic points. Considering letting it run all night
Planning to start a new server with friends new to the game, but it's been a long time since I played. Took a lil break after 500 hours before Hildir's quest released [2023], so basically missed 3 updates? o.o
Has anything significantly changed for the first few biomes?
I'm guessing the mini bosses and npcs are supposed to be in between them orr? I've gotten to the queen and defeated her twice in different worlds before the break
Also any good quality of life mods you can recommend?
Bog witch changed some things with some new impactful potions but past that nah meadows-mistlands is still the same pretty much
#mods-discussion will have good qol mod recommends
Well ig if you quit before hildir there’s also world modifiers too that change up the game a bit
To add, Bog Witch update changed food making a bit, moving mead bases and uncooked foods/baits etc from cauldron to 2 new separate workstations.

woop 25 in blood magic ! 😄
Have fun navigating in the mistlands without a wisp...
hey guys, me and a friend are going to try to fight the queen, any tips for a team of two?
How rare is it for 2 leviathans to spawn next to each other? Like I mean literal a ship length away from each other
Not very, I have seen up to 3 in-game and 4 in other ppls screenshots
not so very rare... i got 4 in a row the other day...that is way more rare 😄 two close together I had quite often
Well damn
1% per area, which is some square meters I don't remember.
Now where areas meet, no reason Levi's could not kiss
anyone wanna help with the mistlands boss?
What are your setups? Melee, archer, mage or a mixup?
im a mage and my friend is melee with arbalest
If you want strategies go to #valheim-help and if you want physical in-game help then #1024264966712340510 is the option for you
For a mage: ember, dead raiser and protection. Bring stamina HP and eitr meads and any other that you find useful. Use the skeletons to distract, the bubble to shield you and your skeletons and friend and toss those fireballs anywhere there are mobs, keep moving up the staircase till you reach the top then jump down, pop meads while flying down.
For melee: either air weapon or a weapon with crowd control, bring meads you want and also go up the stairs together. Use arbalest to take down annoying seekers or pelt the queen if far away and you have some breathing room.
Feather cape, best food and armor ofc.
thanks pal!
Hello. I don't quite understand who to contact, but I wanted to play Valheim online with someone, I'm an honest player without cheats and something like that, tell me how I can find someone to play with? Thank you.

why did my boars stopped breeding?
too little space?
i had like ~20 of them, i killed 18 so im left with 2 tamed boars and they stay with that number for like 20 game days
they are "happy", not hungry
push them together
Try to get them to a bit smaller space, they might have a hard time pathfinding to each other 🙂
yeah it worked... I needed to show them how to fuck i guess.

Just got done repopulating my boar barn yesterday- they all got wiped out by a troll raid, except for one. Honestly considered myself lucky lol
Was it a two star
Boars in this game are like pandas
It sure was, only the most quality boar meat in on Dogg farms.
Now if only we had a way to get quality 2-star chicken meat 🤌
It’d be cool if the ones in sealed tower were 1 stars and then there was another place to get two stars
Hot take, but I actually think it would be interesting if there were a way to breed for them? Or if there was a chance for them to lay starred eggs or something? 🤔
I’m just a lover of the farming aspect of this game lol and I love the chickens
Like feeding them higher quality seeds increases the chance for higher quality eggs?
I usually just feed mine the boatload of carrot seeds atm
Maybe a handful of factors, such as the age of the chicken (longer a chicken has been alive, higher chance for a star egg), varied diet, lots of pets. Here’s the spicy one- perhaps a husbandry skill 🤔
I like the sound of that
While we at it what about the equivalent of workbench upgrades but animal pen upgrades
#suggestion-discussion message oh right, thought I had mentioned it before. Since I have so much downtown, maybe I’ll refine the idea 🤔
I want to breed the chickens for color mutations and extra meat mutations. This is Ark now 🤓
A perfect 6IV chicken, adamant natured + shiny
All my chickens have clucky nature, they wont stop making noise all day. I too really enjoy taming and taking care of the animals in Val though, they often get a nicer property than the players
You could look from here https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510 and please stop shouting.
WHAT?
See? Scales has gone deaf from it 😄
Has anyone around here got experience with Valheim on an ARC B580? Been looking around the web to see and haven't found much.
Not so many people do own a B580
I've played Valheim with a A750 and a A770 tho
seems to be the problem with virtually all new GPUs as of late. Trying to find a new GPU for a non-outrageous price (if you can find stock) is nigh impossible (at least here in canada)
I do enjoy my A770 16Gb
Swapped from my previous A750 8Gb
Bought my 770 from a guy who bought a B580 so he seems to like Intel GPUs
new GPUs are made to power "AI" and unfortunately crypto miners still exist
they arent made for gamers
i keep dying in the medows
Do you have any food?
just berries and mushrooms
Also try to kill few animals and roast the meat 🙂 it will give you more hp
can i get any armour in the medows and what wepons can i build other than the club and the stone axe?
Make a hammer if you havent already 🙂 and see what you can build with that
Honestly the club is a pretty good choice for the meadows
is level 3 armor the top level before fighting Queen?
how do i repair it??
Yep
weird
Make workbench and there you will see a hammer icon
Not really 🙂
thats to craft another one not to repair it though
every other boss you can get level 4 but not the queen for reasons
When you are in the workbench menu look at the left side of the box you craft things in
ohhh okay imm go online and check it out i might just delete my world and start a new one i just ghave days and deths nothing progressed in them
You can’t for the elder or eikthyr or the next one
- every boss is designed to be beatable in lvl 1 armor and lvl 1 weapons from their biome
- troll armor for example, cant be lvl 4 until mountains 🙂
No need, deaths dont affect pretty much anything other than your lvls, which are pretty much unconsequential 🙂
You can make lvl 4 iron armor before him no? 🤔
I meant after the queen
Ah, well it is a trend for the last done biome 🙂
I can't enter any server, are there servers for the game?
You are asking if there are servers in the game while also claiming you are trying to enter in servers
There are only player ran servers, you have to ask owner for info
WHAT?
Destroy them 🙂 also why are you shouting? Scales is already deaf enough 😄
You can deconstruct the piece they are on using hammer if you place workbench nearby 🙂
What's this? I can't play with my friends in our private server.
Wdym?
That would be a different question and problem
Also if you get poison you will not just immediately die 🙂 you can still destroy it even using melee weapons
How can I play with people and with my friends?
By creating a world and hosting it
You can click on "start server" before lunching the world and then give your friends invite + password
Is there a place with servers for everyone
And I am sorry for the many questions
alsoo how do i get rid of a house fast? i seenit on youtube
Middle mouse button/wheel 🙂
||Trollstav|| 🤣
They are fresh player so mind spoilers please 😉 (you are not wrong tho :D)
There we goo
Tbh this spoiler was kind of ok, before they get to it they will most likely forget about this, but i meant spoilers in general 😄
no
Not really, as Rianu said, but you can search through #1024264966712340510
Pssst, preorders are live 😉
Saw that too, I’ll have to check it out!
Oh? Didnt you pledge?
I did- is there anything different about the pre-orders? Guess there might now be anything more to it?
Not as far as i know, now you can just order them, its pre-order since they are not made yet and they will be shipping them after those for people who pledged are all shipped out 🙂
And you cant get the gamefound exclusives with them ofcourse.
i have fire spread on, will a campfire burn down the house?
Most likely if you leave it close enough
i need it inside to sleep
It has 20m radius, you should be able to have it in a place that is far enough from burnable stuff 🙂
Ahh so the pre-orders are for those who missed the pledge deals! Got it. Thanks Asatru!
Excited for my spoon 👀
I wasnt able to get that one sadly 😦 at least i can still see it in game 😄
See what?
The big spoon 😄
#valheim-public-test message
Smiffe and I will try to not flex our big spoons too much 😁
Okay I’m happy I got the tools and the shield too and now should I look for flint and get some flint axe and upgrade a bit more
Before looking for the boss?
You dont need to look for the first one 🙂 go to spawn and click on the red square stone
Not a bad idea to gear up a bit. Get some materials, upgrade and expand your base, stuff like that.
do i get anything for returning the same chest to hildir that i already gave her once?
Nothing
Eikthyr should take you about an hour to gear up for. Slice some boars, shoot some deer, get some food stocked up and train a few skills and then go kill eikthyr. Black forst, swamp, and so on are the real progression biomes
ok
the biggest tip you can ever recieve for this game is; even if you think you have enough iron, you definitely do not
So true
Especially if you’re a builder
How much iron could be enough for a builder or non builder? Non builder could probably do well with three hundred. Builders could potentially burn through a thousand.
that started like a riddle
three hundred is cute you mean three longships worth right
a solo non builder can use a longship worth of iron
I can confirm, as a solo non builder i usually need at least 1 longship worth, and usually i go for 2 🙂
A longship is one iron chest? Ok I guess that's fair. Rolling solo or in a server (basically still solo) I'm kind of a minimalist on gear. Iron helm, iron pick, iron buckler, bark spear, some bench upgrades.
I make everything I need for the iron age and all the nails right there in the swamp and fill a longship and I have enough
Its not about what you need iron for from the swamp, iron is required a lot in the late game as well
Yeah, but there are new sources of iron in later biomes too.
sealed towers in the plains barely gives any and the mistlands swords dont give much either so unfortunately grinding the crypts is the fastest way
True taht, but crypts still remain as the best source 🙂
Agreed. But there's a decent gap between swamp and late game needs. Easy to miscalculate or underestimate
Surely they do.
I like to demolish viaducts. They drop already smelted iron.
How much is one longship/iron chest full
720
Dang I don't think I use that much in a whole play through. But you're obviously not alone on that number. So I accept it
||its super easy to underestimate because you need like 3 stacks for blast furnaces and ovens alone and then padded armor and then you get to the mistlands and ashlands and you need more iron and more iron and it can get overwhelming if you didnt prepare. one ship is usually enough for a while especially solo, but two ships is the sweet spot||
ship carry less, it's 18 slots so 540
spoiler for later game biomes ^
tis why myself along with a few others ive played with hate the swamp age, its basically just mining iron for a few days
just make yourself an upgraded pickaxe with the first iron you get and you will get through iron mining so much faster
Oh see unless I'm making a place capable of multiple people working in it, I don't build multiple furnaces and ovens. But I know that's kind of a standard for many.
1 longship has 18 slots, so 540 iron, reinforced chest has 24 slots so the 720 EVO said
real
As much wood as a woodchuck could chuck wood if a woodchuck could chuck wood
But getting those nice iron equipment is worth it.
Oh yeah for sure and having it for later is so worth it. Never having to visit a crypt later in the game is worth it
I only visit the swamp now for bloodbags, on the rare occasion I need them. When I got to the plains I stacked over half a chest with blood pudding
I prefer to break it up. But grinding to get it out of the way is legit
As much as the mutha chucka feels like
hey to each their own I just like some biomes like plains mistlands and ashlands more than the swamp
Ashlands is my favorite so far, mistlands 2nd and plains 3rd
Exactly. I rush for Mistlands. I love that biome overall
Valheim is the type of game where woodchucks chucking wood (fallen trees) cause more yearly deaths than anything else
So I go bare minimum and push forward. Get what I need on the fly
im doing my final playthrough with a friend before deep north. we're taking a goooooood long time in every biome absolutely stocking everything possibly needed so when deep north drops we just sail up there and have plentiful of everything and maxed skills to knock it out and beat the game
Mistlands has the most unique setup of weapons available, they're all so nice (except Jotun Bane tho).
even gathering entire chests full of everything we need we still spend about half a week to a week in every biome. Took the plains one day to beat and now we're stocking black metal chests full of food and resources
There's that for sure. But it's all about the landscape for me.
So many ways to play Valheim
Absolutely. But that came into my mind also.
For sure. The weapons are definitely some of my faves in the game. Ancient bark spear is still the best looking one though.
@tribal trench use him to mine!
These numbers kinda blow my mind. If 500-700 is the average non builders ballpark. I wonder what the average builder burns through? Especially a builder that goes full send. Then imagine these numbers in a server with 7+ players.
It is indeed a LOT 😄
considering I use iron AS A DECORATIVE FENCE sometimes I'd say...... 🥲
How much iron you reckon is used at your main build?
thousands
Ive barely used any iron in my builds
By the time I realize I need it for support.. its already too late haha then Im like no way am I deconstructing half this thing to embed some iron beams
you don't need to deconstruct, an iron beam fits perfectly and can be hidden in a regular wood beam
just use snap points and voila
I gotta work on my stonewall + wood blending skills
Cause typically I dont even have wood beams 😬 just straight stone haha
I did he missed the first rock and it took a HUGE chunk out the node lol
I never realized 1 star trolls have red eyes
he was super mad lol
Starred trolls hit so hard. I came across a two star troll with a tree while in bronze age gear. Mistiming a dodge is life changing
Bonk, dead
LF someone to play valheim with 🙂
You checked out #1024264966712340510 ?
I died in the middle of lava when flametal sunk, anyways to get it back?
Yes, there are items that can be crafted that can help with this.
is there a way to sheathe my equipped weapon without putting it away?
sometimes I see my character put it on his back but it's usually when I sleep or something, how do I do that?
R
Thank you
Your wish will come true.
It's in the game. Trying to refrain from spoilers
Thank you for letting me know! sadly i cant find it in any stores D:
ohh, I appreciate that, ty
Don't loose hope 😄 probably will be there eventually, after all the preorders just went live.
Noon gjall.
Valheim hooked me again lol
That happens to the best of us too.
They are one type of melee weapons for fast hits and dealing partial slash and pierce damage.
Butcher knife is an exception, it's used only for killing tame animals.
Additionally, they have high backstab damage multiplier (6x) so it makes them really good attacking unalerted mobs.
Ahh
My most used weapons have always been blunt weapons, maybe it's just my playstyle but I always found them to be the most effective weapons
Blunt weapons with a shield and a bow
Knife and buckler for me with bow as backup and I'll go magic the moment I can.
Didn't know magic was an option
Totally viable option. 👍 But some mobs can resist blunt damage which makes maces uneffective against them. So having other damage types of weapons would be good idea.
Sorry for spoiling, it becomes available mid to late game.
When was magic added?
It becomes available in ||Mistlands||.
Back when I played, you made the best gear with black ores
Seems like it's been long time really, heh. Mistlands was added late 2022.
Did I remember this wrong, or was there also an empty, unfinished biome at launch
There was 3 unfinished bimes, the most empty was ashlands 🙂
Ohh
Yes there has been. All biomes have been since launch but unfinished biomes have been only placeholder until they are/have been added to the game.
Yep, currently only the deep north is still unfinished and devs are currently working on it 🙂
Didn't they do a building update
There has been several smaller additions to the game.
Hildir brought some changes to that, snappoints
H&H added new enemies to the plains with a new building material.
So far building feels the same as it was, maybe a bit less clunky
I remember it being a lot harder to build on uneven terrain
Try using Q and E to cycle snap points 🙂
Snap points have been huge update to building, makes it much easier and more enjoyable task.
I do like building, I remember building an entire port for my main base even though that's entirely not necessary
But it looked cool
There are ways to modify terrain, hoe and pickaxe.
Yeah I remember that
One of the BIG things is that teraforming doesent lag the game nearly as much as it used to 😄
I also like having a fire in my house with a chimney
That way it's cozy and I don't choke to death
Yeah.
On my original world I had visited a mistlands biome
Was not fun to revisit when it released 😂
I gained a new appreciation for the mist helping you avoid the 3 seekers, gjall, and starred seeker soldier that just converged on my position 🤭
I unfortunately missed the release of mistlands 🙂 but i heard similar things xD
Are there more than 3 boats now?
Raft, sailboat and bigger viking sailboat are the ones I remember, don't remember their names
Raft, Karve and Longship, then there is ||Drakkar|| later.
Interesting
You will eventually find out.
Biggest issue I had with the longship was squeezing in tight spaces with it
I don't mind reading the names of things
It's not like I know what they look like either way
I know mistlands and ashlands exist for example but I've never seen what they look like
Fair, I did hide just in case. But good to know.
The names give me a very vague idea I guess but knowing this game it probably looks different than what I have in mind
I mean, the only time I'd mind a name is if it spoils something big, but this game doesn't really have a storyline or story spoilers so
I don't think anything like that would exist in this game
Best way to think of eat boat is from… well, a raft, then onto more useful things
Fishing boat, raider, etc
No spoilers for the last one, but it is a favourite just cause of the design
I hope someday we can reach the base of the giant tree we see in the skybox at all times
I think it's Yggdrasil?
Holy shit, the initial launch was early 2021? So I hadn't played in 4 years, damn
Didn't feel like it was that long ago
We probably will not.
Our mission is on valheim, not anywhere else
Best way to “eat” boat?
WTF autocorrect??? 🙈
Uhm……….
Someone didn’t do the required reading during the intro 😂
Valheim isn’t exactly…..
“Attached” to Yggdrasil anymore…
It is physically impossible for us to get to it
Which is why a valkarie has to drop us off
The autocorrect really wants sushi I think.
If it drops us off it can take us away again.
I forgot, sorry!!! I indeed did not read it this time, I did read it initially the first time I ever played
hopefully 😋
Wait, I thought that was just a piece of the branch that held Valheim, since we don't see any trunk
Valheim is no longer held by Yggdrasil at all 🙂
Nope - apparently the forsaken are willing the branches of Yggdrasil to bend back towards Valheim - which is why Odin went looking for warriors to cut them down
The forsaken - not the branches 😂
Was just typing that xD
No but like, the into said that Odin cut the branch, so I thought there would still be a piece of it near us
Oh there are pieces 😄 in mistlands
What we see in the sky are the branches from the tree that are still connected 🙂
Those are leftover bits of the Yggdrasil roots…
Thinking about it that is probably why the forsaken are able to force the rest of the tree’s branches to bend towards Valheim.
There are still bits of it connecting the world to the greater creation
But no, there are no bits floating around in the void of space.
Pretty sure Odin chopped Yggdrasil off at the root.
Mhm, cool. On another note, does anyone have any headcannons for the forsaken's personalities
Well…
That is fairly easy.
Eikthyr is nature personified - it doesn’t want to bend or yield to Odin.
The elder is similar, but more focused on the tree part of nature
I’ve always imagined Eikthyr has an extremely twisted view of nature 🤔
For me, Eikthyr is too proud, like most of em. The elder is one of the few that do not underestimate the player.
Bonemass is… a writhing mass of rotting flesh from past warriors kinda stuck in limbo.
Worse, they are all stuck together like some flesh monster.
Quite sad really.
Very nasty
Moder is just protecting her children - like any good parent
For me Bonemass and Mother are similar and the opposite. Latter hates you, wants you to be gone, and former hates you, but wants you to come by so he can do bad things to you
Yagluth is very proud…
Old, proud, and powerful.
Legit I don’t think we can fully kill him, cause he just keep haucruxing his spirit into new totems
The queen is just doing her thing, and Fader is…
A mess.
Seriously, out of all the forsaken I feel like fader is a tragic villain.
Yaghluth seems alreade dead and he is half the man he used to be
Kinda what happens when you make too many haucruxes 😂
I think that Thor really hates Eikthyr cause there can only be one thunder wielder and he cheers when the player wins that fight
Half a man, and half a horse/ref
Phylaxteries, in technical terms
Hi all, does anyone know a Permadeath mod that actually is permadeath (meaning your character deletes when died - preferably map too). All the modsa I can find that are supposedly 'permadeath' are not, your character just resets in the same world.
I want a truly one shot experience.
Could try asking in #mods-discussion someone there might know of one 🙂
Bonemass is just angry that all of their parts cant rest 🙂 That is why, when we kill them, they thank us.
Do enemies actively avoid ballistas?
Not afaik.
Any base that I've ever had an enemy spawn problem with, after placing ballistas almost nothing comes near..
For instance on 3 different bases across 2 separate worlds there were mistlands bases with constant gjall spawns / attacks. After placing a ballista in said base to target gjall a single gjall has never spawned nearby again at any of the bases
Enemies should infact run to the balistas, since they are attacked on sight
Hmm perhaps I should test this in a high density Valkyrie spawn area.. There's an area in ashlands near one of my fortresses that almost always has 2-3 valkyries that spawn nearby
It is not a player base structure so it will not do anything 🙂
Supposedly, but wondering if there's some type of hidden mechanic/function
Well... those are the only things that affect spawns and player can build
Maybe the ballista has just immediately killed them before you even noticed 🤔
Thats the other thing I was wondering can enemies spawn near them if you portal away? Like is there a time delay between when it unloads the area?
Hey all hope everyone is doing good. Had a question does anyone have a wiki or info site for the building called armory with is an add on. I’m trying to figure out what items I’m missing to make some high item lvl gear ty.
I think there might be, but only for a second or two
Looking for player's interested in no-map experience. Considering starting a server. Comment over here please..https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1347597418560229396

So im trying to decifer something to my self ... when your sadled Lox gets killed you dont get sadle or any meat or skins from it ????
They should drop meat, pelt and saddle if they die while saddled... Did it die unnoticed?
It could have possibly died outside base structure radius and the drops despawned after some time.
Or did it die while you were riding and it didn't drop anything?
he was fighting enemies behind me and i was handling other 2 ... noticed that the enemie behind me died but there was no more lox
does valheim updates frequently? curious coz it is bit story game at the end of day, where u kill mythical beasts
maybe because i tok him to another island (not his origin place)
The updates have been twice a year, more or less, but they are big updates
oooo okie very coool
It could be possible that it ran further without you noticing which direction. They can sometimes get aggroed further.
thats what im investigating now .. there is fuling village and stone tower near
Yeah, you should check the area. Your tamed lox is hostile against everything there except other (wild) lox.
how far have you made it on FULL hardcore mode with no map?
How far has who?
any of you chads out there
nah he's gone ... where i dont know ill just make a memorial for him and new sadle 🙂
Like just after Eikthyr until I died to a troll fighting in the forest and lost my pickaxes and all my stuff lol
After that I didn’t want to continue no more due to losing all my skills too
try the bow and drag the troll to an open space so you can run away easily
I think iGod knows how to do that if there was a tombstone left, probably gone because of hardcore settings (destroy tombstone when dying).
Is Odin also the cloaked guy that appears sometimes
That vanishes if you go near him
During night, one eye - yes.
Cool
The raven who teaches us stuff us likely tied to him too I bet
Aren't ravens related to Odin in some way
Hugin actually is Odin's servant raven, serving as his eyes.
It's in Nordic mythology.
Right, I remember now
Are those the bosses we're killing?
The bosses yes, they are the Forsaken.
So on elemental weapons, I’m assuming like other weapons, you get exp per hit? If that’s the case, you get a lot more exp from the frost staff compared to the ember staff? Is that correct?
Small damage, faster attacks, more exp basically?
You are correct about the xp per hit, but you get way less xp from one hit of the frost staff than the staff of embers fireball 🙂
I believe it's 1xp for ember staff and 0,2xp for frost staff per hit.
Awesome! Thanks guys
Dundr and Fracture staves have higher xp gain if all clusters/scatters hit mobs.
Btw finally got my bronze atgeir, going with Stagbreaker as only melee option in my new run was becoming tiring (||2h weapon challenge||).
Ooooh, nice 😄 tbh atgeirs are quite op xD so you shouldnt have too much trouble
Yeah, I know atgeirs are really good. Not worrying about the bf phase.
I just recently made a playthrough with them 😄 even with their skips in tiers you really dont need to switch to any other weapons, they are just that good
Ooooh battleaxes are a lot of fun! As you know lol
My Eitr playthrough is going well. We beat the Queen, waiting for my buddy to get on so we can sail to the Ashlands! Meanwhile, just building and gathering resources.
Probably the first iron weapon will be the battleaxe.

Make a sledge too, just to say you did 😁
That requires finding Haldor and getting the trophy first, but surely on to-craft list. 📝
Oh right, forgot it requires Ymir flesh. Dang, iron sledge definitely has one of the cooler crafting recipes.
Sledges, atgeirs, battleaxes and 2h swords are the only allowed weapons, plus spear for ranged option when needed (flying mobs).
No crossbows?
I knew you wouldn't leave us fellow spear lovers
Hmm, I think about that still. But having at least spear as ranged is enough for now.
You’ll have to be very careful with drakes on the mountains
I've grown quite comfortable with my aim so I don't worry. 👍
Maybe you’ll need a tip or two from a Puncher of Drakes 👀
Scales insight regarding lob being identical to crude bow was great.
Lob?
The arc compensation for distance
I've mostly honed that understanding through hours of spear use. But cool to know the two are identical
Ah, that. But it is much more accurate than crude bow would ever be.
I agree. Camera angle sometimes brings complications.
That's a me problem I'm sure. I play in third person
I've only ever used maces, is there something else that people prefer? It's such a versatile bonk stick
Hmm pretty much every weapon type is viable really 🤔 swords are pretty popular
I might give them a try, but to me they've always felt like the "vanilla" weapon type
Pretty cliche weapon type, yeah. You could give spears a try?
Yeah maybe. I've heard some people say atgeirs are good too so I might give that a whirl
I'm on iron tier right now but I've done a character in the past that got up to the plains
I wanna try a spear run at some point I’ve never crafted a spear after the flint one and I have a feeling it could pair well with the tower shield
Iron age has wide variety of different weapon types. Mace and spear are probably my favorites, then also varieties of axes. Battleaxes are quite fun IMO.
Atgeirs are really good too, when you try them you will have hard time to switch off from them.
Very stamina heavy tho
Ah yeah I'm already so starved for stamina I keep a stack of tasty mead on me so maybe I'll go for a less demanding weapon
Its worth considering regardless, maybe it will work for you and if not you have a cool weapon to hang on your wall
HSS food setup works well with stamina demanding weapons if you're comfortable with it, tasty mead is great too.
Currently I'm rocking boar jerky, carrot soup, and deer stew. Haven't been getting too much from the swamps just yet to upgrade
My first iron run went into a stone cutter and I quickly got distracted lol
They're extremely good to have around, especially if you play with friends
The spin attack staggers a lot so it was pretty fun to be the catalyst while my friends wipe out the staggered mobs
how do i get people to join my post cause i made 3 posts in the past 6 hours and havent gotten anyone
trying to start new server & new characters
You've posted three times in #1024264966712340510? Yikes.
Seems like patience isn't a virtue anymore.
Hope everyone is having a great start to their weekends
So far so good....... Now that the weekend is here it's time to find a piece of the Dyrnwyn
I responded to one of your posts but you* deleted it lol
do yall like the two handed weapons in this game?
atgeir my beloved
Soon imma invest in a black metal atgeir
If, there's one
there is one~
Nice
Tbh I also really like the two handed axe
But the highest tier seems to be the crystal axe?
sadly, yes
and its stats aren't balanced as generously as frostner or the silver sword, so its usability in later biomes isn't quite as good as it could've been.
Deep north BA 🙏
Anyone wanna play, im new so if anyone can teach me it would be appreciated
You got it bro just run past him and grab your stuff
I can’t lol he’s hitting my boat and my stuff is right there
It’s in the water too
I just need someone to kill him for me so I can grab my stuff lol
@exotic swan are you able to help
Is anyone on
If you want someone to play with, you can post in #1024264966712340510
I’m just looking for help but doesn’t seem like anyone is on
Eh, it's 4-5am in Europe and close to midnight in the US. Just a quiet time.
No, as it's 4am and I'm about to go to bed, sorry.
Ok
Bait it somewhere is probably the best way to do it alone
Best if you get some food, rested, then go
Usually you will have a temporary buff to move faster after died
Dedication!
Putrid holes.... ugh mannnnnn I have covered soooo much ground but still no quest items
Maybe my luck will change soon
Anyone trying to play just started?
which biome ya'll make your main base in?
plains/mistland border
why plains? what about the deathsquito and fulings
well, why bordering plains and mistlands?
how far have you gotten? if you aren't ready to set up in the plains I wouldn't worry about it too much -- just base wherever you'd like
portals make travel / distances moot in any case
im in the mistlands era.. lol
i just want to make a main, ultimate base somewhere. i dont wanna have to rely on portals to get to the mistlands, i want to live in plains but deathsquitos man
i thought about meadows but i'd be asking for too much if i wanted a meadows base that borders plains that also borders the mistlands
deathsquitos are like any other spawn; they have set spawn locations -- if you build a campfire or the like in the area they'll just simply stop spawning
riight. okay, so plains it is then. how come plains over meadows, asking from your perspective?
try growing barley in the meadows
that's all i needed to hear. thanks
plains beside mistland is the best
i haven't played over in a year i think.
is ashlands any good?
is very good in terms of gear you get there
problem is, unless you are ready you are going to die, a lot
problem is, unless you are readyyou are going to die, a lot
what's the new armour there
Flame Metal
I can confirm tbh
Oh hey Prast
I found a spot where to build. It borders the mistlands. However, not my cup of tea on the land layout for the plains. Wish I could send images but oh well.
Terraforming will probably be actual hell
I suggest building towards the south of the map
The south? How come?
Is it only the south? Nowhere else? I swear Ashlands used to be everywhere but closest to the edge of the map
How rare is silver supposed to be? My wishbone only pinged for one silver deposit in a huge mountain biome 🫠
Depends on rng really
Sometimes you can get lots of silver - other times not so much
I have found that mountains with more flat spaces give more that very tall ones
When will the Deep North get an OFFICIAL update?
No one knows. they are working on it now, but no dates.
Praying, I bet it'll be exciting(maybe o.o)
Can't wait for new build parts
fr
If anyone edits the wiki, please add to the Sap extractor page that an extractor left on a root that is all dried up will continue to produce 3-5 sap per day (total, not per extractor)
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Ancient_Roots the wiki is pretty clear on exactly how extractors work, I feel that line would add more confusion than anything else
It is already stated there that when on dried up state, harvestable sap is less than 5.
It does not say that on the sap extractor page
oh mb, it's on the ancient roots page
they showed one so far
No OFFICIAL date, but looking at previous update history, the big updates took a bit over a year to release from the last update. Mistlands came around 14 Months after Hearth and Home, Ashlands about 17-18 months after Mistlands on May 14th. Since they said Deep North would also be 1.0 and they would revisit every Biome for at least one addition, i would suggest maybe 1 and a half years development for Deep North, thus releasing somewhere in Fall or Winter this year. (Again, just my guess. If i recall correctly they also said there would be a smaller update before Deep North and after Bog Witch)
It is not the exctractor that produces the sap but the root itself, thats why its on the roots page and you have there exactly how fast that is 🙂
i beat the 2nd boss boys
didnt know i could continue the fight
tought you had to like play from max hp again
W
solo no mods no nothin
The coldest biome releasing in the winter seems fitting lol
Bosses regenerate slowly like all creatures, constantly healing 100% of their health over an hour
honestly, the hard part was removing all ||shamans|| from my sight since they ||healed him a lot||
I’ve never seen a shaman do that. ||could a fuling shaman shield yagluth?|| (5th biome spoilers)
No I’m pretty sure he’s confusing the bosses natural health regen with the shaman healing him
Well.. if ashlands took 17-18 months then why would biome that will have way more going on with 1.0 tweaks, rebalancing and possible small additions to other biomes took the same time? It will almost surely take quite a while longer.
Natural regen is incredibly slow though
We don’t have any footage of the fight
And I don’t see why a shaman wouldn’t heal him. I’ve just never had a shaman close enough
Maybe they can I’ve never seen a shaman healing the elder tho
the green one
that usually does THAT to mini ones
you know
||And the fuling shamans can shield yagluth||
ikr, i had sooo much problem, i uh, get his hp down by, IDK, 2% and they ||heal him up 3 times more than what i just did, like jesus christ||
Well usually its a good idea to clear the surroundings before fighting 🙂
i wish , they were ||spawning soo fast since there was summon thing near that i wasnt aware of, at one point i was chased by 10 little ones and 4 shamans healed the boss||
so i took my time to clear area
0.0
17-18 months is less than one and half a year i think
oh well about oop
1 Year = 12 months, 18 months is year and a half 🙂
my math still sucks
Happens to all of us 😄
it also didnt really feel like one and a half year
Man i hope they will add some achievements with deep north.
yes
1.0 should come with the full launch and Achivements
Absolute cinema.
@nocturne wolf @tiny tiger I've seen a shaman healing a troll while chasing me down
Yeah I’ve had that happen too
Both shamans can buff anything they are friendly towards
Never woulda thought my first time in the mistlands would also be my first Very Hard playthrough but here we are
(Not solo, I’m not that good lol)
I killed the Queen for the first time in solo, god this fight was long
I must've spent around 1h30 of running around (and dying a handful of time too)
Full magic
The next boss feels like a shorter fight to me but I haven’t fought the queen for a very long time. He doesn’t run away from you as much.
First I need to get a hold on this hellscape Ashlands are
So many ranged enemies, so much pressure
Even getting there was tough. I ended up using godmode to pick up my shit after the third drakkar
It's a good general rule to always wait until you are rested and eat before going back to get your corpse
Killed the Queen? Hey today is international womans day!
Glory to the Queen then!

That comes in Mother's day.

Did the seed system change, meaning, are the seeds in previous version such that they will create the same world now? And the unofficial valheim generator etc. I mean the newest technical patch 0.220.3 and then the version before that 0.216.6 which was a bugfix patch after bog witch patch.
I dont care about any version prior to those.
There wasn't any new content in latest patch so no, it didn't change.
Yeah like technical fixes, some memory leaks when generating subsequent worlds, then asset optimizations, and also some fixes to stuff like marble and arksvin. So I thought maybe if those were placed there by seed in world gen, that might affect... somehow. Or maybe memory optimizations mean they make more monsters now that they have memory.
Aaagh okay i think too much. Never mind Let's just play game. And respect woman today.
One should always respect women. Not on "International Women's Day" alone.
True. And I do. Well not everyone, some women are... evil like men are. Evil knows no gener, culture or sometimes even age. But yeah the day has its reasons why it is kept.
im having a issue with world sharing would anyone be able to look in the valheim help chat i have screenshots there for a more clear image of what im talking about
I wonder what event they celebrate in Norse
did my trophy mounted fish just say "Don't worry be happy" ?
Boss trophies and fish can talk occasionally on item stands
Whaaaaat?
It isnt even april fools day. Are you serious or just messing with me? 🙂
Deadass
It's true.
It’s why fish use so much stamina to reel in they’re basically bosses
That means we must kill all bosses at least twice to get the trophies again which we sacrifice to forsaken stones.
I’m pretty sure hildirs mini bosses don’t tho
If you want, on the forsaken stones they also speak
Bonemass' head will mention something about "freeing us", The Elder will mock you telling you he'd been able to snap you like a twig. Fishes mention things about being thrown back in the water.
But it only works when you got them on item stands in your home. The trophies on the sacrificial stones won't do a thing. nvm that.
Fr? I could have sworn they also speak on altars
I could've sworn they didn't. 😄
So now we're both confused. Where's DereK when we need him? 🤔
can you fish in the swamp from the shore or should I go offshore with a boat? I can't see any fish from the shore
I've never tried it from the shore, but always from a boat. So imho that may be your best bet.
The wolf fur cloak looks so cool, I think it's my favorite looking armor piece in the entire game
If you count cloaks as armor I guess
Bonemass is the only one that felt free after you killed it, from the lore it says ||Bonemass is a blob consist of many dead bodies, their bones are stuck inside one.||
They whisper to you while you place their trophy on the altar, and it probably coded the same as item stands
I have a question, what are skills supposed to be doing? To me, they just cause anxiety with the prospect of losing them, but no reason to consider leveling them
basically buff everything you do to some degree
eheh talking trophies, Eikthyr in particular, always reminded me of "Murder by Death" talking wall moose
Take less stamina to use on higher level, some deals more damage when your level is higher
or block more, harvest more etc...
The Eikthyr trophy is such a sick wall decoration
unfortunate for him tbh
Too bad he's the first boss
It is one of the big trophies and good for decoration
That's the sweet spot they want skills to be in it seems, fearing death but not dependent on them.
Training skills alongside the valheim artstyle
That combination reminds me of runescape
Well yeah, but to me it doesn't make sense that I'm 'getting stronger' just for existing, not doing anything significant, and the weapon skills make you not feel like branching out (eg: I didn't craft skoll and hati on my first playthrough, because I had swords 70 and knives 3), even though it looked cool
I mean, what you're describing is two different logics. You don't feel like you're getting stronger, but you also don't want to branch out because you're a high level. It could also be said that future playthroughs have more to offer when you change your focus with weaponry.
my instance of valheim on steam is all of a sudden running choppy on windows 10: anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance
there's a few typical culprits for that, including but not limited to: updates waiting in the background, dense built up area in game, lots of lights/tames, new chunkmaster with poor connection
@tacit crystal Manage to find my Lox taking a bath some 100 m in completly different direction 🙂
Good! It is sometimes like that lol.
he just disapeared after a fight with few Foulings and couldnt find him
oh sorry
i've found wolves in the past that i wondered what had happened to and they were literal miles away having chased deer off into narnia xD
Is there some kind of performance boosting mod for valheim? something like optifine for minecraft
are there gonna be any more biomes after the deep north update or is that it
DN is the last
damn
Part of the journey is the end
Maybe Valheim 1.0 will be so successful that we'll find out a bit later about an 11th realm!
1.0 is the end.
didn't envision retirement as a zookeeper in a|| seal sanctuary|| but there are worse ways to go xD
that will be it
Just unlocked Onions. I love that vegitable.
thanks, I caught my first herrings just now
Well. You just gave me new retirement plans. Thanks.
Then Valheim 2 comes out right? 🤣
Question about asksvin. My brother heard on facebook community for valheim that the asksvin is able to go through the portals. Is this true?
Only the player can use portals
So uh, what's the deep north supposed to be about
I'm not a native english speaker, apologies in advance
There is no content in the deep north now. You will have to wait for 1.0 to release.
What is the deep north supposed to be about
