My first playthrough I also lost motivation during mistlands, I took a break from the game and came back with a new approach and had a lot more fun the second time in the mistlands

While it’s still not one of my favourite biomes I have a newfound appreciation for it

They are technically different spawn groups, so they don’t cancel each other out for the unique check when spawning.

Most people go fine while wearing Troll armor after Black forest and even prefer it over heavier Bronze armor which slows you (-5% per piece except helmet) and give only 2 more armor per piece (comparing the same quality). But you could combine Bronze helmet with Troll tunic and leggings for example without movement speed penalty if you're not finding enough Trolls for improving armor.

Ive just had a Valkyrie break the stairs in a Fortress. I thought only spikes were destructible? I've also used a pick axe after using the Battering Ram and the pickaxe is able to break the walls too....are Fortresses now breakable?

Once you learn enough of fire damage dealing enemies you don't need to keep Fire barley all the time around. I use it only for Fortress time.

I'm close to finishing a 10k.+ Stone castle with tar wood decoration and im bored of the mountains, they kinda annoy me i have to waste stamina to jump up a tall mountain and then run down from wolves cause I can't hit them and use shield without eventually dying, they hit too fast and thats just one issue, if i do end up finding a silver vain, ofc there has to come a stone giant abd then u gotta spamm arrows for 10mins shooting him and then its night and im not rested so i gotta dip

Ahhhh I mean you're just difficulty stuck dude, all that stuff becomes super manageable with better gear, or just training up your skills without dying, that part is huge. You get into the 70-80s in your important skills, run, jump, main weapon, block, and life gets a lot easier.

You can kill a stone golem in 2 combos with an iron mace. And you can handle their melee attacks with a banded shield and swamp food.

If you're only in the Mountains man you got a LOT of good content and diversity of mechanics coming.

Ashlands has been amazing. Really rough but so good.

Plus once you move on to harder biomes you get to come back to the easier ones and stomp everything that was mean to you.

you have to dodge as a mage and defense doesn't matter if you have the protection bubble up. But once you know what you're doing you shouldn't get hit at all as a mage, the bubble is just insurance.
Once you get the staff of the wild you pretty much just spam up a bunch of vines and kite enemies around them until they're all dead.

As for trollstav it's great. Their damage isn't huge, but they're very tanky distractions even against bosses.

You can actually just run or even walk out of most attacks hitboxes or jump over them. The staff of protection gives you enough safety to experiment with what works and what doesn't, but once you figure it out you're pretty much invincible.

Not really difficult, just takes a little patience. There are plenty of mist-free spots if you sail around and explore a little.
I collected over 400 soft tissue and 30+ dvergr extractors just from raiding dvergr harbors along Mistlands coasts and also found 6 infested mines in mist-free areas along the way, so i never actually had to cross any mist until i went to kill the Queen.
And i just sprinted through that navigating by minimap

yes!!! trollstav is very good. you can summon trolls into fortresses and let them clear it for you AND you can solo fader with only that weapon, just keep summoning trolls and let them bonk him

and yea as a mage your focus should be on kiting. throw down some vines and let them slap enemies while you dodge projectiles

You can get all the advice you need but i strongly recommend beating him yourself. If you can't do that you're simply not ready for the mountains so there's little point getting someone else to kill him for you.

Yag's easy once you realize he only attacks when you're in front of him and his turning speed is slow. You can literally walk circles around him while stabbing him in the ass occassionally without having to dodge a single attack.
