that will cut em down real quick
shoot for the head
yeahhh but then you need to find a lev and risk getting serpented
kinda cheesy but ||you can hide in the burial chamber entrances and the trolls cant break them||
and even if its relatively easy to get its a weapon one tier higher then you "should have" in BF π
you don't get serpents if you sail during the day and with calm weather. And i usually find leviathans just sailing my karve around, they're not exactly rare.
also i wonder if you can use trolls to mine copper for you
also you can easily kill serpents with a finewood bow and wooden arrows
Not true actually.
night serpents despawn
storm serpents Remain
going during the day just minimizes the chance of getting attacked
But travel during the night for the sport
and also for that juicy fat serpent meat
Facts
serpent meat carried me in bonemass
wolf meat is kinda meh
100% wouldve died WAYYY more without its fat hp buff
Wolf meat is good because it's easy
NO ITS NOT'
wolf meat is good when you make it into a wolf skewer
Just good to have for lil tasks
boar jerky is a staple to me rn
also loxs feel crazy easy to kill
just get some needle arrows and a level 4 finewood bow/Level 1-2-3 Fang
BTW im about to enter the swamp for the first time (I have the key) what should I expect\
pack torch's and firearrows.
A touch of hell
I have lvl 2 troll armor and a bronze helm
Alright
but ill get firearrows
That's how I went in
80-150 should do the trick if you encounter what im warning you of
π₯π₯
oh is it the big thing in the water
Honestly it's probably worth skipping all swamp and going straight for the land of ash
depends which big thing
(Trust me)
did it just crawl out of the ground?
Abomination?
thats PROBABLY a sea serpent if its in DEEP water
oh great
you have arrows and a findwood bow right?
Was it a tree?
yea i have flint arrows and lvl 2 finewood bow
Serpent meat is heavyy
you got 80 filnt arrows?
well here's a good way to kill a sepernt.
Get it agro'd on you
get your boat on the best wind you can
and shoot
Besides swamp where else does swimming skill come handy ?
Water
oh so basically like a mad max chase sweet
i mean if your boat gets destroyed while your sailing and your close to land
it can be pretty damn helpful there
do make sure to check on your boats hp and if it gets too low book it for there nerest landmass
I have never really needed it tbh
Swimming is handy in Mistlands and sometimes Plains.
also
their meat is VERY VERY good
i belive cooked serpent meat is like 65-15
I feel like swim skill doesn't help much in swamp
Yeah too shallow
around that metric but you do need an iron cooking rack for it
Mostly I use it for crossing rivers in meadows/blackforesty areas, or to get around mistlands. I wish swim skill was better tho
Our characters are terrible swimmers
Hopefully that will change if Ocean ever gets a much needed revamp
here's the problem with an ocean update
if you change it too much sailing becomes much harder
mainly in early game when you dont have a good bow or arrow's to fight off ocean threats
Distance from spawn
Done
then again yknow
could get a bad starting island
but not way out of the center... so if they made it depenendt on distance from center you just need to avoid go out there on the map... π stay in the center until you got better gear
yeah
i mean afterall a level 2 finewood bow and like 60 bronze arrows is more then enough to smoke a serpent
finewood bow and wooden arrows are more than enough to kill serpents π
eh better arrow's are always good to use incase you got bad aim
yea but any arrow that doesn't use metals is preferable
fair but later in the game copper tin and bronze main use is the karve and fermenters
and sconce
wooden arrows, needle arrows, any other arrows that uses an easily acquired resource?
obsidian maybe
needle arrow's are insanely good and so easy to mass produce
I breed needle arrows
frost arrows are the biggest weakness of serpents
so tips where to find seeds ? am swampin/bf etc
Serpents are pretty easy to kill
Any arrow above bronze arrow's are the bane of serpents tbh
frost arrows and the serpent won't even be able to reach your boat due to the slow
true i just need to make an effort to specifically hunt squitoes
Look for flowers. In BF, they are white. In swamp, they are yellow.
carrots are white, turnips are yellow and you are mellow π
Swamp flowers: Green vines with yellow buds (Turnips)
BF Same as swamp expect white buds (Carrots)
Mountin: I think onion seeds only spawn in chests so look for premade buildings
appreicated π€
also make sure you fence in/protect your crops because mobs WILL attack them
my base is high af π
me when raid:
how does the fishing bait work?
Can pets destroy crops? (I'm thinking the Loxen)
lox probably can if they get spooked
should probably keep your pets and your crop a good wall or 3 apart
yes
Each bait will catch a specific fish. There should be a couple YT videos on it, and I think the wiki covers it as well.
lox have an obnoxious ability to escape then run amok through the base with aggro, damaging everything in their path
this is why you should keep your pet lox in a hole
unless your gonna ride them into battle
can troll armor carry thru whole game if fully upgraded ?
Man upgrading weapons in this game is so inconsistent. ||Like Staff of Embers gets +12 fire damage when upgraded twice. Staff of fracturing gets +144 fire damage when upgraded twice... HUH π ||
fully upgraded troll armor is only around the same power as level 1 iron armor from what i know
You can do anything with enough skill. But I wouldn't recommend no. Once you get to Plains you probably don't want to be wearing any troll armor
me when the ashlands weapon gets better stats:
Make it start off with better stats, don't make upgrading it 12x as strong
Also a lot of mistlands weapons still outclass or compare to Ashlands weapons π
i mean if you wnana max out your sneak?
Root armor is the only armor that remains strong in most biomes
expect ashlands
using root armor in ashlands is the worlds weridst way to kill your self
Could, but its gonna be a tough time. You're supposed to bring the armor from the previous biome for the best chance.
Progression is Swamp-->Mountains-->Plains
So you really should make mountain armor before going to plains, then upgrade to plains armor when you can
yeah how hard the game is is really just dependent on how good
your
Food'Weapons'armor
||Are all Ashlands enemies other than vultures resistant to fire?||
Getting hit with anything on is generally bad
eh depends
so im seeing perch off the shores of the plains, do i catch them with regular bait or the plains specific bait?
when you have +1 armor it aint bad
getting hit by an abomination while you have silver armor still hurts but not that much
Maybe it was because of hardmode but I found most enemies were lethal
On hardmode most hits are pretty tough yea. On vhard most hits are lethal
im gonna venture into the mistlands soon so. but when i get mage armor and weapons nothing is gonna get close enough to hit me
I remember a 2 star seeker soldier
yup magic op
That was ridiculous
i really wanna get the dead raiser but rancid remains trophy
erhm spoliers? (just kidding i dont give a shit)
also i know what it dose mister
you aint fooling me
Bruh people are crazy over stuff
oneshotting 0 star seeker soldiers feel good. But on a 2 star I doubt you'll be able to take off much more than 50% of their hp in one hit
Per the wiki: perch and pike use the basic bait from haldor.
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Bait?so=search
do you think a level 6 trollstav could oneshot them?
weird that they are showing up in the plains tho
eh prob not.|| I doubt the meteor does that much dmg||
if you use cheats and nocost you can upgrade ANYTHING to level 6
You might be able to oneshot it with ashlands items though. I was just thinking mistlands items
Since when does something upgrade 5 times
as far as i know? nothing
you gotta use cheats to get a level 6 anything
thats ... the point?
drop the troll in let it do its damage and finish off whatever survived
Eh
thats its purpose as far as i know
Like I wanted to spend resources crafting that
ugh wanna skip to ashlands for fracture staff but I need to get 8 celestial feathers for it to be useful π
I mean, I love fighting valks. But finding them...
you want controllable summons? use the dead raiser we get chaotic up in here
That's passable
I just heard the same sound effect valheim uses for hitting stone in a tv show
also SNAIL
flashbacks of the mines
WHATS THE BEST WAY TO GET A GOD DAMN RANCID REMAINS TROPHY WITHOUT DEPENDING ON A SKELLY SUPRISE
raid a few graves, I got like 2 and turned them to coal
Summoning a giant glaming psychotic that wants to kill everything, including you, is not very helpful
Killing hildr Black Forest boss and killing bonemass then setting your raid rate to max,
Or going plundering in some burial chambers
u go do hildas 1st dungeon
Black forest crypts
also whats the current max level for the dead raiser?
3?
also can it summon star'd skellys?
Thor bestows a gift
Lump of coal
Thor is actually krampus
then who is santa
Thor skimpy
Haldor
smh thor been skipping on his gifts recently
4, which means 4 skellies. No stars
i hoped thor would give something better if i pulled the lever while he flew overhead with thunder. Nope, still just some coal
Because lord forbid anything be useful
i think level 5 dead raiser should always spawn 1 star skeltons OR be able to spawn rancid remains
Skellies can do up to 300 damage each given right conditions though, which is 1200 damage if they all do a hit. Damn insane dps from you sitting back doing nothing
I made a fart.
4 skeltons with protection shield is pretty good
and 4 archers can be some great ranged support for any of your viking comrads
The skelies are great because:
Cannon faughter works
fodder?
they protect you from greylings π
yeah *Fodder
howd you manage to spell fodder as faughter
im genuinely curious
Draugr Faughtr!
Didnt know the correct spelling
meat for the cannon
can we get a meat wagon from warcraft 3 as a siege weapon? thanks
lobs a chunk of Lox at enemy
"LOAD THE SERPENT MEAT!"
spicy fiery chicken ammo
"PREPARE MEAT SHOT!" (like 8 boar meat)
π€£
is there a handy way to get rid of all ur stuff ? like the things u dont need, i feel like they get in the way so often
Obliterator
who's from ph? lets play!!
you need the thunder stone from haldor some iron and some copper
then all you gotta do is put something in it pull the lever and BAM destroyed
Yes, but I'd recommend holding on to things for now. You never know what's suddenly gonna be useful later in the game
build a building, fill it with chests, and dump all your junk in it
Haldor sells a trash can
We have a lot of storage and maintain 1-2 regular chests for mats.
oh and is the stonecutter an upgrade for workbench or nah ?
It's not an upgrade to the bench. It's its own bench. Allows you to build with stone.
i might need a second hut then π€
It also can make the sharpening stone that you can place next to your forge to upgrade that bench.
You will likely just move it around to the areas you build with stone blocks
yes
Middle of the night there π
Hmm, I feel like ||bloodstone|| weapons will give me the power boost I need
Either that or the ||trollstv|| for sieges and/or the ||dundr|| for the everything else
how do you get galdr table tier 5
robes of embla wants me to be tier 5 to uuupgrade it
Can't yet, max is 4
Nothing. Else there'd be patch notes.
If I'm not wrong the "update" messed up some/everyones mousewheel rotating when building with the hammer
whats the best way to get lots of fish
i refuse to believe it is by actually fishing
Look up vids. Best way is prob to build some angled areas for fish to jump into and get caught in
i managed to pick a load up from a weird pond next to the sea when i started my most recent world
Yeah, went to start building in my world after playing something else for a couple of days and the mouse wheel rotating being inverted really threw me off (was going crazy thinking I accidentally changed a setting somewhere).
imagine if they added a new setting
Freezing wastland
2 hours after a world is made it will be plunged into constant snow always applying the 'cold' and 'frostbite' effect
biome's remain the same
what about spongebob biome
spongebob?
spongebob
the ocean?
speedrun to get any Cape with cold resistance
I can only imagine that the Deep North's ocean waters will be covered in frozen ice, and the upgrade will involve a big badass ship that can break through the ocean ice until we hit land
hello the communauty. I am at the end of the mistland, do I have to play a new game to find the ashland knowing that I have not discovered the entire map of the globe ?
couldnt you just walk on the ice
No, it'll be there for you.
thank you very much I was afraid to start all over again
yep
or a SHITTONE of campfires
but do we agree that ashland is well deployed on the live server?
I don't know, maybe hazards that make walking across it not worth it
i mean you really only need 1 flax to get it going
yeah if i could find just one
you gotta look for dark brownish patches
i know what the cultivated ground looks like
If you get lucky, there might be some in chests. Don't just look for planted stuff.
im full clearing these villages. just bad luck so far
Rng doesn't like you getting Flax then...same with me and surtlings. 3 swamps with 4-10 crypts each, not a single spawner.
guess the search continues
RNG can be a godsend or a curse...just keep exploring.
also do some people REALLY think the dead raiser is bad?
i dont care if its good or bad lmao
its totally sick therefore its good for me
so tired of this game just crashing for no reason and i lose over an hour of progress
only ever happens in the plains
i had a problem on my world where where it would just refuse to save the game
we lost a good amount of progress twice because of that
this game easily wins having the worst most complicated save system oat
ive always been inclinded to necromancy
coolest magic tbh
me too, but im leaning towards it for an odd reason i think
ive had a novel on hold for years (ill continue it someday)
and the main character is a necromancer
because summoning countless minions to do your bidding is fucking RAD
thats why π£οΈ
well. i know why it wasnt saving
it was just a lucky guess because it hasnt happened again
me and my friends world just saves when it feel like for us sometimes we manual save and it doesnt save and other times it does
whats super stupid to me is that items not used prior to a save are not saved if they are used after the save
so if i smelt iron and put it into a chest and i get sent back to a save before that chest was made everything smelted is gone forever since there wasnt a save when that chest was made
very very complicated mechanic to always have to think about the entire time i play its super annoying
wish i had some kind of dynamite to place inside the head of a giant and blow it up for ez farming
i wish you could like chop down a tree and bonk it on the head
one shot kill
TIL that skeletons are weak to fire apparently...
That includes dead raiser skeletts
The 'ram might work if you are going back for more brains post ashlands.
that has been the case as far as i can remember tho π
It should be one of their biggest resistances...
granted i dont know how resistant are dried bones agains fire, but even if they were weak to it irl i dont think devs will change this as it was in the game at least from start of EA
...
let me get this straight
the creatures made out of BONE take more damage from FIRE?
I always thought they were neutral to it max.
But weak?
thats why torch is great starting weapon against them π
club still better
porcupine is best
frostner best
Bones can take up to +700 CΒ° of heat...
I know "realism bad" but still...
alt f4 better
At least there aren't as many fire sources from enemies in those stages
realism GOOD (as long as it isnt taken too far)
just bring campfires with you at all times
It just feels so wrong...
epic win
only after upgrading it to lvl4 lvl3 π
yeah like... BLUNT makes sense
wait, i made a mistake...
thats like... midgame at that point why would you still have a club π
recalculating...
everyone understands why bone would be weak to blunt and resistant to slash
that is my point
Neutral fits fitting
You can argue that you attempt to cut them. Hence neutral
Blunt well, you smash them and break their exposed structure. Hence weak
Pierce "goes through" and is hard to actually hit them. Hence resistant
i was thinking pierce dose less because there's no nerves/organs to cut
But bones can take a lot of heat before "breaking"...
And they're still weak?
Works too
Unplayable
0/10 game skeltons take more damage from fire
cant belive the devs would let this happen
A mystic force prevents you from playing
you can build a chopping block and tanning rack with just meadows mats. Also low stam cost, it's actually not bad if you want to grind your clubs skill.
a mystic force makes the fire extra hot so the skeletons are weak to it π
also do draugers take bonus damage from anything?
they shouldnt, they take spirit but they are not weak to it
i view draugers as like... water logged corpses so i feel like they should take less damage from fire
but one thing is interesting, skeletons dont have listed that they are weak to spirit either, i always thought they were π€
they do, they're resistant
Holy fuck, this thunder shotgun feels sooo good to use
I wish I had the bloodstones to upgrade it
Wraiths are
ERHM AKUCLTY ITS NOT A SHOTGUN ITS AKUCTLY A STHAFF!
Ghosts too
Almost everything undead is neutral.
But half of ashlands is actually weak
oh well, still good they do take it π
serpent scale shield is really good tbh and not that hard to get
all you really need is the harpoon stam mead alot of good stam food and a longship
but no parry π
yeah but... 100 block force
no parry, me no like π
parrying is for loosers
Also -15% movement speed. root harnesk does the same thing and you can kill abominations with BF gear and food no problem.
you risk everything
30 min fights, imagine
Is there anyone here making valheim content?
it's great for entering Mistlands though since seekers most powerful attacks do pierce.
the devs?
the devs, or if you mean other people making videos or streaming i would check #self-promotion π
Ty!
Parrying FTW
also #screenshots and #building-screenshots for building related content
ok i have to stop the skill drain thing on death
i cannot loose anymore skill point
sword are now under 50, maces under 40
there is no other solution
i cannot fight all those seekers and win every time
it's impossibleΓΉ
i have to recover those skill points at any cost
Besides death penalty slider, there is also combat difficulty and a couple others that might make things more manageable.
Specifically for skill training, you might Wana look into a greydwarf farm.
ok now skill loss is really reduced
next death is no skill penalty and no item dropped
next death is passive enemies
next death is cheat invunerability, and we see if we can withstand this biome
cause black forge wans't any help but a spear
Sounds like you need to do a lot of combat practice π
no, i need less seekers
i cannot fight two of them every time
they do too much damage
It really does sound like you just need more practice fighting them, 2 shouldn't be that bad
2 are fine π
2 isn't much of a issue if equipped/food(ed?) properly on normal difficulty. Unless you are talking about soldiers...
2 hit too much hard
i have currently 141 hp, 127 stamina and rested and wisp
i cannot manage two of them keeping attacking
has anyone found a 2 star morgen? found one while sieging a fortress, just a minor incovinience lmao
There's a lot of things to take into consideration such as proper food/equipment. Knowing whether you can and how to properly block/parry/dodge attacks. Using terrain to your advantage. Just takes time messing around, I could probably handle 5 seekers with no armor on at all because they simply would not be capable of hitting me. The enemies in this game are very predictable.
I cannot parry two of them at same point
They are too fast and they keep following me, staying close any moment
You donβt need to parry
They should "circle" around after every attack attempt. Use that time to let your stamina refill. If you parry one, follow up with 1-2 attacks. If needs be, don't attack to recover stamina or use stamina Mead.
Hmm
For most of their attacks you can actually dodge them by walking. Actually a lot of enemies in the game all you have to do is walk in a direction and they can't hit you xD it's pretty chill. Evade hits however, find your openings, take your shots, and repeat.
And first mistake it's a two hit
Usually I can defeat them, but after 5-6 couple of them the mistake happens
and I die again, and I have to find a fast way to recover skills at any cost
Additionally, for players who have a tougher time, a bow with frost arrows is the best way to make dealing with almost all enemies trivial. The slow effect is a huge help
I think I found a too much hard spike
This time, maybe I have really to ask someone to be my guard
Yes, and it's annoying the hell out of me.
If you get an eitr refinery and make refined eitr youβll be able to craft everything else
I do really fear for when you make it to the Ashlands though. If you think the Mistlands are tough I'd say from my personal experience the Ashlands is multiple times more difficult
Dev made a hige mistake to put armors and new weapons so long to get in mystlands
we will see
i have my doubts
at least i can use fire res there
I never make the armors anyways
That won't be as helpful as you think it'd be
I like how it progresses differently to other biomes, and itβs not too bad because you get food early
better than now nontheless
i don't like
cause you force a player to multiple deaths in order to become stronger
and within the skill leeching, this is a huge mistake
we are not talking about draugs and blobs stuck between scrap piles this time, we are talking about enemies that requires no mistakes
and you don't have some kind of item to recover lost skill points fast, some kind of potion of altar
Without skill loss skills would have no purpose
I am under 50 skill of sword and under 40 of spears and maces
then configure the game in order to not keep killing the player over and over
after 10 points loose, you put a long long skill drain stop
do any one of you play hardest difficulty? is there any way to work around so that you cna actually block mobs
or you make a recipe who pretend that, something really expensive: 999 gold, 7 full stack of rare resources one potion
Better get good at rolling my friend ;P
short answer, no?
Oh I don't know, haven't tried it quite yet but I imagine blocking is likely a no go for most enemies so likely you're just dodging
Welp, looks like my draugr village trench breaks the pathfinding on both the draugr and my skeletts. So back to the graydwarf farm for me
I mean the mobs do too much dmg
I'm glad that they deal a lot of damage on the hardest difficulty, I'd honestly be disappointed if they didn't π
Yea, Iβve completed it deathless, not a lot of fun though
Just gotta try and pick your targets to parry, eat good hp food, maybe even biome skip for a better shield and food.
Iβve considered just devcommanding block skill to like 70 at spawn tho to make it more doable
they do too much damage in normal
that's the problem, in mystland is too much pumped up
Deathless sounds intense
What weapons, shield, armor and food do you have?
it is for sure. Even more so when you don't use cheesy stuff / OP weapons
Honestly not fun at that point though. I much prefer Hard over Vhard
I'd probably give it a few tries but not likely take it too seriously, I don't think I'd much enjoy constantly being hyper focused on all of my surroundings
wear the root chestpiece from swamp and they'll hit less hard than a wolf
If you made a frostner, use that. It does more damage to seekers than black metal weapons because of the frost damage.
Seekers, at least
Bonus points that frostner also slows them and allows you to spin around their pokey attack zone so that you can attack them freely.
Seekers are easy enough to jump over, why walk around them?
Fair enough, though I'd imagine for some of these people who already find the concept of walking to evade enemies attacks too difficult their minds would explode trying to comprehend jumping over an enemy.
deathsquito worst enemy design ever
Just swing your weapon at them. They have like 10 health
I almost always jump towards or over an enemy when attacking unless Iβm trying to parry it or itβs too tall. It keeps me out of the attack trigger and hitbox so I can easily avoid damage.
With 'skeeters, they are so weak that (with decent skill level) fists alone can beat them.
too much hp imo
how does parrying work in this game
I like to punch them, but it's not viable
I just kick them in the face with my fist
Block 0.25 seconds (I think) before an attack and it will reduce damage further and stagger the enemy if possible. Parrying always costs 20 stamina, which is usually much more than blocking.
parry will fail if enemy has overwhelming damage. You can parry higher damage with better shields and by eating more hp foods
is it possible to keep playing the game avoiding the skills problem? let's suppose I drop to less than 30 each
Perry also kissed a girl once, and liked it.
Is the wishbone useful beyond the mtns?
yes. easily play the game at 20-30 skill. Even 0 isn't a huge issue
In theory, you could be in ashlands (the current last biome) with 0 skill level and still function. It would be super tough but still doable.
You can use it to get a small amount of iron in swamps if you donβt want to find more crypts
It does have other minor uses such as finding small iron chunks in the swamps and finding buried treasure areas but mostly no... It's not very useful.
Oh forgot about the treasure. Remember that not really being worth it either.
Nah, usually I only gun for it if I want the necklace to make the treasure chest thing to decorate with
Treasure is only worthwhile if you want to make a treasure room or something.
How big is that chest? Haven't made one, but would be fun to store all the gold coin spoils
Well that's dumb
Assumed it was meant to store all the treasure
maybe fun as a prop in a treasure room with gold piled everywhere
Yeah that's what I do with it, just kinda plop it somewhere then surround it with piles of gold
It cost something like +1 silver necklace, 99 gold and some gems (rubies) for a decoration.
Not a utility piece at all.
I remember when troll caves used to be terrifying cause no room to kite them
now just walk in and beat the snot out of 'em
Ocean is the last planned biome, yes? Will there be a Ygdrassil?
Deep North is the last planned biome.
So Ocean before DN?
We're presuming so, but don't know anything definite.
you've always been able to do that with parry
Yeah? You walk into your very first troll cave and just parry it to death?
Up through BF I wasn't having much success meleeing them.
Then I think I'll just stop thinking at skills
Cause cleary I would have too much time to spent to recover from the huge disaster mystlands are doing
I looked at the exp required and it's really too much
Thinking to play this game staying at certain level of skills per biome is pure madness
It consumes you, without an effective way to gain the skills back
For trolls I've always just dodged them, get a few attacks in, dodge and repeat. With a spear they are actually easy work at any given time so long as you manage your stamina.
Thinkinh of passing several hours killing greydwarfs to gain back 10 skill points mystlands drain in seconds is again pure madness
It's self damaging
Then use dev commands to give you your levels back or something
It's the real punishment. So the only solution is too just ignore the whole mechanic
You die? No problem.
basically as soon at they make contact w you, just block and you will parry them if u have a shield
they can be oneshot w pretty much anything
you can also roll through them which will make them attack in ur iframes
Can skip the block and just swing at them as they come in. Saves a second π
i was just mad that i was being attacked by 40 goblins and i die to a deathsquito behind me
ah fair
yeah but that can be a bit risky if u dont have the timing down
but w something like a halberd thats a good strat
We don't fear death, we embrace it. Punch the deathsquitos. Fail until you don't
Squitos are nothing compared from seekers
huh i feel lucky. first time i went out to sail to find serpents. i caught 2 serpents within 2 minutes of each other. the second one dropped a trophy. and just after that i see 2 leviathans side by side.
Tbh Wolves are pound for pound the hardest enemies in the game... Until Ashlands that is.
That's awesome, serpent hunting has always been one of my favorite things in the game, and it's such good food for how early you can get it
Wolves and fenring are terrors.
yeah serpent hunting seems pretty fun
Man, I got put in time out for using the c word
Hey, I know what I am.
Just trying to describe my chicken hubandry experience
Learned just today that Valheim didn't always have portals. Interesting to think back on the pre-portal days, seems significantly more hardcore, more home-base-moving, but also perhaps too tedious. I got portals relatively recently and I've been loving them
why does upgrading the new staffs do literally nothing... im sorry but is that just an oversight from the devs or just them being lazy?....
When did Valheim not have portals?
Seems like magic is a neat idea yet its not fleshed out at all. The regen sucks, upgrading the staffs feels worthless
the gear upgrades dont give you more regen just barely more armor that youre not gonna use anyway cause youre always avoiding getting hit
stamina doesnt regen while casting.
I guess it must've been during beta
Aren't we technically still playing a beta
Yeah if that was ever the case it must have. I've owned the game since the official EA launch
early access still
Open vs closed beta are different animals
I'm not a magic person myself, and I have my issues with it, but I also know people who absolutely love it and claim it's the most OP form of combat in the game. That said I've never actually seen anyone who can effectively use it so... π
Sure its op if you want to sit there, cast a bunch of vines and let them do the work for you. Then its OP yeah.
Woops, maybe alpha? I just started playing this game a few weeks ago π€·ββοΈ
But if you want to do a hybrid gameplay or do more than just cast trolls/vines and sit, while letting them do all the work
Welcome!
Hot tub so romantic
thats the only way magic truly works without you running out of etir constantly
thank you! definitely my new favorite game
Maybe, I just refuse to use it because I hate that you have to play through most of the game before unlocking it. I was kind of hoping they would add weaker versions of it earlier on so you can pick what playstyle you want at the start of a playthrough.
Why does the wiki spell armour wrong by the way
In-game its spelt the correct way too, but on the wiki it says armor not armour?
Maybe the wiki is written by Americans?
Dunno but I might edit it to fix the mistake
grey or gray?
Grey is correct
I'm from the US so I use gray π
Then you use it wrong
Mostly not, but it was decided to be consistent.
yeah baby finally some flax
language isn't immutable; definitions, spellings and usage changes over time
don't blame others for you falling behind the times
In game its clearly armour which is correct but the wiki is wrong
I would edit it but that would take forever
in game it says armor what do you mean
both the stat and when describing chest protection pieces
That's why we agreed to keep the Wiki consistent with that.
I am from the US and I say both.
Both is good meme
Grey comes more naturally for me though.
if they really wanted to be pedantic about it they could have used localization for the wording
but honestly who cares
I always spelled theatre like that because it makes it sound fancier and fancy theatres are always better.
"Why are you spelling armour wrong?" - We're not, we're spelling it the same as in game.
Behaviour drives me nuts though.
I had to double check, and the game spells it "Armor"
This feels like the beginning of an Abbot & Costello skit.
Abbot: "The brits and their weird spellings."
Costello: "I know, right? Behaviour drives me nuts."
Abbott: "Which behavior?"
Costello: "The one spelled British!"
and on and on
Which is armour?
Which, according to the game, is Armor.
In the changelog it says armour
You mean armor?
I want to push this conversation along with my quips, but they aren't valheim relevant.
Spelling of valheim words seems relevant.
Hasn't stopped me.
I'm procrastinating my body rescue.
some people deadass have nothing better to do
ok, but in the actual game itself, when you're looking at the stats, it says "Armor". Changelog is just text written by the devs, it can have mistakes, typos and spelling errors which aren't worth changing because its not really that important
Will the hens still lay eggs in the cold? Is that a way to get eggs without hatching them?
Bottom line: if you understand the intent, it doesn't matter how it was communicated.
Yes
they need a fire and the eggs can't have the description of "too cold"
I haven't looked in-game yet because they rarely say armour in it
Just weathered a horde involving a few charred, three asks (one or two of them 1-star), and a valkyrie
I feel great
I understand people's intent to debate with you on anything that doesn't actually matter. And I'll raise them π
Iβll edit it back the right way
They need a fire to hatch, but do they need a fire to lay them?
Hens will lay eggs so long as they aren't frightened and are fed. The eggs will only hatch if it says "warm".
I'm sure that felt great, nothing like making it through a real struggle then thinking back on it π
I want eggs that don't hatch.
bro making breakfast
no, the chickens just need food (and space)
Thanks
out of fire/warmth range
I like how I answered your questional correctly immediately but it all came down to that Apex, I'm sorry they confused you
honestly one of the best parts of frost resist clothing is no longer getting the cold debuff at night
you can just keep going
lots of therapy required
But, then we have no reason to cuddle for warmth π¦
i still sleep at night just to avoid the increased spawns if i actually want to do something
Sorry, missed it. Got pushed up
but its nice to have the option of continuing
can't believe the authours of the wiki have misspelt armour, colour, even old Haldours name they have misspelt!
It took me 3 years to find out cold debuff actually does something
if it isnt in Shakespeare's english is it even correct
Makes things poke through my viking shirt!
why stop at the british spelling, lets follow this to its concluision
Yes, Shakespeare's English is very out of date by now.
Shakespeare is a sham anyway he stole that womanβs works
Let's not. They've moved on, let's do the same.
you do like giving orders dont you
We all revert to speaking Latin
Where was the order?
HODOUR
and intentionally missing the point too
sure we can do that for a while if you want
Yes ill hold the door for you
Oh, it's already been corrected.
Depending on how many drinks I've had sometimes I don't even know if I'm speaking a legitimate language anymore.
summi bellator veteris
Nah it wonβt be for awhile since mine will be right and you will be removed from the wiki
rapid wiki correction and correction and correction...
just correct that correction will ya
fix it or leave it
Thatβs what ma always said
and ma knows best
Flax harvesting hasnβt been profitable in runescape for years
doubt it
NOOOOOOOOO
The one star Ask I brought to base got killed by charred DX
It wouldn't stay put, it wouldn't just stop chasing after death itself
Now I'm gonna have to tame another ask, and I don't know if I can find a starred ask
Honestly I wouldn't bother. They aren't worth the effort
They donβt allow people to repeatedly mess up the wiki π€·ββοΈ
Armour is correct so i will just change it and let an admin decide
is this guy still trying to change it to armour
Aww man, I was hoping to figure out what new stuff I could make with their eggs
Apparently so.
those darn wiki moderatours!
They decided long before you knew about the wiki
lawl
So you are saying the flax-market has crashed and has yet to recover π
I think more so it just hasnβt kept up with the inflation of everything
Maybe, lets see
Do not cite the deep magic to me!
Oh damn flax and bowstring prices are going up
what am i supposed to do with all this black metal
this is insane, i wish i could make arrows out of this
Throw it at your enemies π
How many tries does it take you guys to deconstruct an item mount?
How many of you place the hammer instead 3x before you finally deconstruct it?
I normally learn after the first 1-2 hammer hang-ups.
That makes me feel better.
Learning is for nerds, I just continue to make mistakes always.
But when I am super caffeinated or tired...it is a struggle.
that warm and fuzzy feeling of being completely done with your base and now you can actually play the game
I would say, more so than fighting a troll naked with fists only.
I swear, the spawn rates on the Ashlands are fucked in some way
I've been in the same general area ducking and weaving this new horde, and just as this horde is thinning (which included five asks), a new ask appears
Spawn rates are the same as every other biome. I think there are just more mobs available to be spawned so you get more mobs in general.
The rng gods knew you would "ask" for more...so they sent more.
You're surprised the much worse curse word is auto-modded but the milder one isn't? Curious.
Does staff of fracturing just suck? It seems to do near the exact same if not less damage to ashlands enemies on a direct hit, so it doesnt feel worth it over staff of ember aoe and far less punishing aiming
Yes. It's a pretty common descriptor for a male chicken.
Oh, that one? My bad.
Not the other c word, sorry.
How do I use it though? Bc when I get jumped by a hoard of creatures the best I can do is keep them on me. I cannot fight em when I have 15 ashlands creatures in chase.
too many curse words lol
If you'd said it then it would have been clearer π
I can't really spell it out without being forced to take another timeout :p
Hence the wink.
Do the brits spell it with a u? π€
No, we spell it with I and T.
Use the movement speed on it to maneuver and distance some of the enemies and dodge attacks. Use the stamina reduction to get more attacks in
As always though AoE weapons are good in Ashlands bc thereβs often hordes
Yes, that's why he's so upset about it.
Assuming I don't end up using the spires to build a bridge to the next Ashlands island, imma need at least 75-100 yggdrasil wood, 150-200 finewood, and 300-400 iron nails, assuming the distance is that generous. The ceramic plates should be the easiest part
so it seems like past midgame there is no use for turnips, and i should just farm carrots and onions
Seeds for chix
But what good AoE weapons are there? The bile bombs barely do damage even with their DoT
For ashlands, people like frostneir for its AOE, but it is way underpowered to be a main weapon.
what does boolean mean?
true or false
What about the lightning atgeir?
Would likely work well with its power attack.
rainy days = sailing days
Rainy days = serpents for days.
are serpents more likely to spawn while raining?
Rainy days=/=raft days
They'll ONLY spawn in storms or at night.
I'm surprised bonemaw meat, cooked or otherwise, isn't used in any cooking recipes
Staff of embers for mage, 2H hammers or atgeir for melee. Atgeir and embers are pretty busted, so those are prob the best options
drake helm is so cool looking
Yet.
Skellies and later on ||trolls|| are also great distractions, letting you focus on single target dmg
Wait, but aren't most mobs there resistant to fire? It's why I only carry around the thunder shotgun and the staff of frost as a fallback
Do dragon eggs respawn?
Oh yeah, I also have the trollstav, but I'm leaving it at home until I find a fortress to use it on
Yea deals blunt and resistant doesnβt mean immune
hope any future recipes that use bonemaw meat don't weigh as much as the meat itself
Likely wonβt
It was a good decision on NOT making ashlands enemies weak to blunt.
I would've hated that ember staff and even frostner were so relevant at that point
And even still, ember staff fairly dominates ashlands in a biome where ranged physical dmg is reduced (pierce)
I don't believe so. But there are usually a couple nests per mountain.
I thought they did respawn
Regular serpent meat reduces in weight a lot when made into stew
Should be plenty to summon modor more than once.
They do respawn but itβs a long timer on them
I just loathe the thought of dragging them back up the mountain. Perhaps when we get the better portals.
Usually not worth waiting for them. Just if you do come back to a mountain after a few in game weeks you can be happy thereβs eggs there
Catapult. The answer to any mountain climbing woe(s).
And then it's like Easter. Just gata find the eggs.
No dungeons
oooh, they have respawned
How common do you guys feel ||valks are? I wanna skip to Ashlands for fracture staff but itβs useless unless upgraded so Iβd need some valk feathers||
For the plains, there is hildir's tower but I don't believe that is an instance like sunken crypts or the like.
Very much less common than ask or charred. I think I saw a total of 4 in the time is took me to find and raid a Stronghold.
Oh yeah, I never bothered with the fracture staff because of my own elemental skill being too low, I think
And because fire, and fire is resisted against by most mobs there
I do have 1.5x resource rate on which I hope will be my saving grace
I likely saw about a dozen ask and likely more than 80+ charred
Iβll have to raid a fortress anyways to catapult home tho, bc Iβm playing with a no Ashlands portals rule
archery in this game is so damn satisfying
Archery is satisfying at first and then gets boring quick to me
Birds just poof
Everything dies too fast when you get high skill π
long distance shots are just great
Huntsman bowing a fuling village is very fun tho
yeah its boring killing high health things by spam shooting them i will say that tho
Maybe I should wear a full ask set and go full SSS for exploring the Ashlands
Valid, just donβt get hit
Should be more doable with the ask set and tons of stamina. Maybe with the Eikthyr power as well
Ngl tho Askvin cloak is so fun and good in Ashlands
Like mage build with Askvin cloak, and then fenris pants and chest and flammetal Helmet (or all ask hide) on 2E 1S and youβre just straight cruising with magic with some melee supplementing
why are my clothes randomly taking durability damage
plains burrs
fair enough, have a nice day
I have not seen anything that would cause random durability loss
yeah its weird, ill repair them, do stuff around my base, and then come back and they are slightly damaged
Fall dmg maybe
Mods by chance?
that causes durability loss?
Nope, speculating.
this is vanilla run
Hmm
its not enough damage to matter, its just weird
Fall damage would make sense...unless you have an infestation of micro greylings smacking you as you go about your base building business.
Almost nowhere. You are better off just looking for his shrine.
what does his shrine look like
The tall stone pillars. About 5 of them looking kinda like a hand coming out of the ground.
The palm will have his shrine.
If you wear full ask set (cape too) you will outrun everything nothing will kill you
and if you tame them askvins, there will be nothing to worry about
Stonehenges. Semi-rare places, not guaranteed to have a vegvisir
oh i passed one of those already
We found the tablet in a stone circle
im guessing these idols are the boss item
yes
If I tame one of them or if I tame them all?
Because I managed to tame a 1-star Ask, and as soon as I brought it to base, it got distracted by charred, and it eventually led to it getting killed by said charred
Prob means riding it around
That is true
I suppose the only thing I could do to keep tamed asks safe (I have one other one star ask tamed) is preemptively build a barn for it and keep it out of sight from the dozens of mobs popularing the Ashlands
Yes, dig two holes to get a breeding pair and then you can merge them to start farming
....shit, and the two holes were close enough for that
I should have done that from the start
damn once you get flax and barley going they really take off
not having a separate seeding growth cycle means these things haul ass
Absolutely!
I love how padded armor is much less painful to upgrade than the previous metal armors because of that
and you get an unbelievable amount of black metal
YYyep
Speaking of which, I should upgrade my blackmetal axe to max already
I feel like Mistlands should have monkeys
i still need to upgrade my past armor sets as much as i can now
It's so cheap may as well go all in
root, troll, and fenris
are any of those worth using at higher biomes? probably not troll, but how does root and fenris stand up
Fenris is great throughout the whole game
It increases your defenses so you don't get hit...
But with that armor you shouldn't get hit in the first place
And root harnesk is one of the best armor pieces in the game
why
Pierce resistance
why is that so good
arrows and spears
the other armors arent good for that?
It reduces pierce damage by 50%, and the most annoying enemies deal pierce damage
Any advices how to bust FPS on small hostPC server? we did "gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1
gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1" thing in boot config file and use Recoursce Unload Optimizer mod, but still has severe FPS drops
there is no cure π
I can only hope it won't get nerfed
I doubt it
I'll say though, depending on the difficulty that armor piece is either really bad, or really really good
maybe some other optimizing mod? i can't believe where is no way to somehow fix it...
root harnesk is the only piece of armor untill now that got Pierce resistance
Doing an overall better Damage reduction against many enemies
- the fire weakness can be rulled with fire resistance wine
the wine completely deny the weakness + add resistance to fire
Fenris set is cool, but that fire resistance isnt that effective without a good amount of armor
Fenris is all about movement to avoid tanking hits. Works pretty well in plains and mistlands imo, although I often do use a heavy armor helmet since the fenris hood isn't the best, and of course root chest is OP so also often swap out the chest
In mistlands you unlock stuff that makes armor less important tho, which makes fenris v nice
so i should go plains armor helm, root chest, and fenris rest in plains?
The only enemy that deals fire in plains is shamans and Yagluth, but Yag is only when you summon him and shamans' projectiles aren't that hard to dodge
In case you don't want or cannot use fire wine for whatever reason
there's also those fulings with the torches
Oh right
That's a pretty good plan for Plains and Mistlands
any competing gear sets for other things for those biomes or is that basically the best spread
if you're running root in plains though, you seriously need to keep an eye on those shamans, it's really bad if they hit you
or just run the fire mead ofc
any way to get abominations to spawn? or is it totally random
i would go with Root Chest and heavy armor you Will tank squitos with those
shares map and exploration data with others who interact with it
oh
useless in single player
im playing on Very hard and is working for me anyway
Root chest is a necessity on vhard
you can explore big swamps, they spawn disguised
run and make noise you probably will found more than one
I have to wonder, does the shield generator block spawns in a wider area? Because in my base, no mobs ever appeared close enough to start attacking my ship
chains are so annoying to get
Yup
Itβs annoying the shield needs em. Iβd recommend not upgrading the shield though (on normal diff)
wait i need chains to upgrade it too?
How many chains are needed? I have almost 50, and we have done our plains gear.
i used a ton to make braziers
Oh, I hate those, so...
i like that they run on something i can grow in my base
i have a ton of resin so i use a few torches but mostly its all coal powered
Just run the swamps at night and kill the ... what are the called in Valheim? Wraiths? Specters?
I can run 2 of my swamps like that and get 4 to 5 chains per night period.
is there an objctivly good way to level up blood magic?
No idea, but I bet there is a youtube video for doing it.
Afk? Train on Drauger spawns
I m so glad i keep trolls around my house cus i got swamp raided and the troll came and killed em al
Eventually the raids will easily kill trolls.
Trolls? Yes. Just randomly, and not always in the exact same spots.
Im gonna keep em around for protection
I forget how big their spawn "area" is. Its not huge.
I literally got spawnkilled like 8 times by the same draugr before I escaped my own house
Iβm wanting to start using ||growths|| for protection. Making enemies weak to fire is exciting
They are a pain to manage. I no longer even try.
I think I'm gonna end up building a bridge to the next Ashlands island and use crags for stability, if not create a bridge made entirely out of drakkars
Yea Iβd like to set up a system of having them trapped and ready to shoot, but it does sound like a a pain
Thereβs a pit right next to my base tho, so could always just bring enemies there
I feel like ashwood logs could make a nice bridge too
Like, raw logs. Not some ashwood build piece
If only I could carry the raw logs in that case
Hmmm, if I'm gonna craft a Ripper, would any of the three upgrades be more ideal over the other?
Iβd say definitely blood. Nature and lightening isnβt good on low attack speed. And with proper blood use you can one shot valks on a crossbow sneak attack
Oooooh, thank you very much. I'll definitely keep a lookout for more blood gems
You are able to massively knock back logs with Dunder
About the only weapon blood is worth it on
My main weapons are mace and splitnir, but I already upgraded the splitnir so I'm going to need to craft a second one
Is it? Huh
I thought blood dominated over the other two
Nah
Constant management makes it pretty bad in general
Requires 3 hp foods and being at the brink of death to be worth anything, and even then itβs not like massively powerful, just a good bit better than the alternatives
Guys quick question, Those spikes in the fortress wall break?
Well damn
Good thing I gave my mace lightning, then
I thought those spikes yielded copper scrap
Because, saw a number popping up when I hit it with fireball after clearing it up. What could it be then?
not that, but something...
Not sure. Mine don't break
PLus, the most recent fortress I raided had 2 enemy balista, but none of them 2 dropped a thing. Wiki says it always drop 1 (that thing that looks like a gear). could it have dropped into the lava?
lox in the process of aclimitizing dont seem to get alerted by me?
I always got cogwheel from skuggs
best vid i've found (for full AFK): https://youtu.be/mkwRM-UO5UM?si=5Ul3GtM3-CpGQU2n
personal tip: find a place with 2 spawners cause at a certain point your skeles will 1 shot the mobs so you may need to set up 2 if you care. also make a safer hut
my first one it had 2, i got two cogwheel, but this one that also had two skuggs ( is it their names? xD) and I think they dropped into lava (both sides were near lava) because I got none
anyway, i'm not building as many catapults i think... are they useful?
I never had much use for them, but if you're having issues with flametal I've heard they can be good for mining the pillars
Guy I found a staff that really useful in Ashland when u have large amount of enemies coming
The staff of the wild. Just spam that and run around
I saw some videos that 4 or so are indeed good with explosive ammo... I may try, then
Ember and fracturing nahhh staff of the wild really did the job
Recommend element magic lvl have to be 35 upper
what do you mean there are iron deposits outside of the crypts, what? no, not possible.
and YET i find a muddy scrap pile just on the edge of a swamp shore
has this always been a thing

thanks
oh yea, the vid is not really a tutorial - more like a showcase. it's pretty simple to set up though
yup, can use wishbone to find them
how much iron compared to just finding a crypt?
Cool cause I've only run into 4 crypts and explored several swamps with little to no luck
Anyone down to vc and play?
Friends and I just got up to mountains. Every time it starts to snow/blizzard my game freezes/crashes. Anyone have a fix for this?
Is the battleaxe worth making when you're in iron weapon tier?
It usually involves changing graphics settings. There is a you tube video thats usually recommended.
I had it happen just a few weeks ago, and I have a pretty high end system.
hey
How do we combine copper and tin to get bronze?
@small iris 1.) You build a forge (it's in the crafting category in the build menu)
2.) You take two copper and one tin to the forge to make bronze
@viscid tangle it's very powerful in terms of damage and wide swing arc (plus the middle click does high stun damage). The downside is that the stamina usage and movement speed debuff is rough. But it's a viable weapon
Ah makes sense, thank you so much for the help
@small irisyessir
Was there a new update, MistPlains? It's been foggy like 80% of the time I've gone to the Plains.
Plains near mistlands can be foggy ime
there's no mistlands near my Plains
There are weather effects that can make plains foggy
I know, but 4 every 5 days?
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
just saying its possible to be foggy
you can try sleeping to change the weather faster
didn't work for me
black metal sword or porcupine?
what biome?
plains
either, I use the frostner
thats what im using now
then black sword so you also have slash
is porcupine worth crafting if i have frostner and a bow already?
i think frostner is better than porc
is there no black metal pickaxe?
there is later
Hi
is the damage swords do different than what axes do (minus hitting trees ofc)
If it hasn't changed. swords can do full damage to multiple enemies. Axe splits up it's damage among multiple enemies.
With axe u can lvl up early game
My new playthrough didn't fight the elder yet and the axe already lvl 26
Really hate the forest event when u solo u can't prepare in time and in hard mode the DMG seem too be a lot. Almost got my axe to lvl 30
Sooo... new Mac update bricked Linux, which means Steam Deck, most server providers and most linux users, right? Was going to download Valheim on Linux but... :(
Does that actually hold any water, or do you think I'm good to play Valheim on Linux? Maybe after a few patches or somethin?
Hmm, perhaps The Demolisher would be helpful in the Ashlands as a two handed hammer
Though the Himmfl would also be good, but I haven't leveled up my pole arms skill, instead having focused my spear skill until it reached the level 80 range
one island over, not bad
Running on linux fine right now π€·ββοΈ
ah, okay so it's just a regular maybe Linux will work, maybe it won't, gotcha π
frostner is insane cause of the spirit and frost damage yeah itβs def worth it
i know frostner is good, im asking if porcupine is worth crafting
I have to ask, how does the silver sword fare against the Ashlands' undead?
yeah it is, i thought u asked abt the frostner mb
Since the Spear attacks quickly, I can only assume it will combo very well with iolite, which should really help against hordes
I do admit I feel butthurt that I didn't think to go with something like this until my Spears skill has drained from level 80+ to level 66, and that's on easy difficulty
not very good, even though it does spirit damage it doesnβt kill them nearly as fast as using the mistwalker, if you want to do spirit damage use the frostner cause of the added frost damage
Well damn, I should have crafted the mistwalker in that case
Morgen gjall.
what type of damage does staff of fracturing do
The simulation is breaking, Valheim physics have entered the real world https://youtu.be/r6LbehEpx-A?t=247
Blunt and fire, like the staff of embers.
12 / 12 each projectile at lvl 1, upgrades only give extra fire damage it seems.
can i explode an explosive payload without a catapult?
If the 4th boss is Mom and the 7th boss is Dad, I have to wonder if the 8th boss will be their child
same for staff of embers, the upgrades only increase fire damage for that too.
Unlike staff of embers which gets a mere 15% increase in fire damage by going from level 1 to 4 the staff of fracturing gets 100% more fire damage by going from 1 to 3 though.
Which makes it absolutely bonkers everywhere BUT Ashlands, really. The blunt damage is what you want in Ashlands, and staff of embers does the same blunt damage but as an AoE so it's simply superior in that biome.
It's dirt cheap for a reason I guess, for people who want to be mage without spending refined eiter
guys if i run away will yagluth lose aggro
i believe he does if you go so far you cant see his healthbar
with what can i summon bonemass?
Withered bones.
Yes, get out of his sight and he will drop aggro, it is quite a range though.
Itβs only worth it for collection purposes and itβs kinda cool looking. It splits damage between Blunt and piercing, so plains boss and seekers resist piercing and only lox is weak to it in plains. But for lox the spear is better.. because it doesnβt have any element damage itβs just way not as good as frostner really. 1500hrs and Iβve made it once.
man ive been trying to beat this guy since yesterday
do i need frost resistance against yagluth?
are there any blockable attacks?
yes
every boss has some unique drop that is required to progress in the next biome
yeyyaaaa, i kinda did something to get to bonemass easier tbh, rly disliked the swamp stuff
swamp was the next most grindy phase after the bronze and tin era for me
you need fire resistance, he doesent do any frost dmg π
Fire resistance wine, not blockable but dodgeable, yes.
Learn his attacks he makes a certain move and that translates to what will happen, learn how to dodge those and attack while you can.
yes i recognized the left hand, right hand, and the vomit
so i should just run a frostner no shield
fenris vs padded for yagluth
Iron mace or the 2 hander hammer is your friend, take the hoe with you to his altar and prepare the surrounding land.
Poison mead.
prepare the land ?
queen defeated, very laggy though it may have been
Β¨make it as flat as possible so you dont have to worry about getting stuck somewhere π
Yeah you want a decent area to move around in, you donβt want to be stuck in deep water against bonemass
Just circling around his alter is the best way
bonemass* π
is it worth carrying around a shield for yagluth since it slows me
happens to everyone π no worries
Or silver sword, fenris set is a good idea.
Spawn proof or clear the area beforehand.
If you want a safe spot to portal out or regen health dig a tunnel under his altar.
Dodge rolling his nova attack is a good idea.
At least part of it.
fenris will be better?
nova is fireball or lazer?
Woosaa!
Fenris lets you move away faster and has build in fire resistance so if the fire resistance wine drops and you can't refresh it quickly you still have that.
You might take a tad more damage since it has less armor but you are trying to not take that much damage.
You can also use frost arrows against yagluth and stand at a safeish distance, will take a while though or you can just treat it as a bit of extra damage now and then when you moved away.
the explosion around him
The slam he does.
Another useful thing to know, his head blocks most of the meteors so if he does his meteor attack get close and personal and smack his face.
no way! thats the most useful one
i was having a hard time with meteors
Your head also blocks his meteors (one time use)
do armor resistance effects stack?
only the strongest is applied
if you're talking about the same type
if i get any kind of mod for my game, and go into my previous world to play with a friend, does he also need the mods?
guys yagluth is no more
I think it depends on the mod. Most mods require everyone to have them, but smaller QoL ones donβt
Could ask in #mods-discussion tho
Except for serpent shield and root armor, they stack I believe.
Edge case though for most purposes the highest resistance is taken.
They do stack
really?
Itβs an incredibly powerful combo for dealing with pierce damage enemies
so pierce resistant + pierce resistant makes = very resistant in that one case?
thanks for the tips guys, the potions especially were very useful
It makes, can't touch me with pierce in that once case.
not bad
Itβs because of how the blocking and armor mechanics interact
When you block, you have a certain amount of damage reduction from your blocking skill/shield level
Then you have a separate damage reduction from your armor
ah that makes sense
Serpent shield gives you resistance to the blocking damage reduction, and root harness gives you resistance to the armor damage reduction
so many things unlocked when i made some flametal bars for the first time, which should i make first lol i have choice paralysis
