Ashlands will only be at the very bottom (south) of the map

Common technique is to make a mini basement just to fit all the upgrades under the main benches

nah, I like showing them -- they're free / functional decorations. extra rooms / floors is generally how I handle them. I don't have a blueprint because every building is different -- I like redesigning and adapting to the particular environment I build in/on.

Mace does pretty good in swamp, although you'll probably get a better mace there anyways for when you really need it. Atgeir is pretty OP with it's secondary attack, so I'd say atgeir is the stronger option for you

Fighting Moder on Vhard is scary stuff. Nearly impossible to tank her Frost Barrage without Serpent stew + Serpent meat + wolf skewer, or a similar food setup.

Luckily her barrage is easy to dodge and her melee attacks do a little less damage

Normal is just too easy, but on Very Hard all you do is avoid getting hit since shields are worthless

yeah that's padded armor. Full padded armor gives you -10% movespeed though, and fenris gives +9%

19% movement speed makes a HUGE difference in outrunning attacks

Between the release of Mistlands and now, was anything noteworthy added to the original biomes besides Hildir and the minibosses? Trying to get a group interested in the game again and the Mistlands update was underwhelming to them cause there was hardly any new content besides the biome that takes a really long grind to get to. We couldn't find Yagluth and they didn't want to do a devcommand ping or a seed check. Interest in continuing died before we even reached Mistlands.

It's whenever Microsoft gets the release through. Nothing IG can do. Only short-term solution is to use the Flight beta version of Valheim, which is the same as the Steam version currently released.

unless you explore all of thw swamps in your world, you either have to get lucky or not be picky with which geysers you connect to your running course. Did find a swamp with 5 of them, and 3 of them basically next to each other, but that's where my luck ended

At least recently I've found the idea of just plopping a portal down whereever I go, and especially a pocket portal just ruins some of the fun of surviving in a new area and navigating the landscape

Even with (the majority of the time) the wind at your back, still took 50 minutes to sail from my meadows base to ashland's shores...I only sail one direction and plop a portal to avoid such a seafaring trip.

honestly though I'd prefer a different solution like much larger storage capacity / multiple storage areas on the big boy boat -- and/or 100% duration moder power (active all the time, not just 5 / 20 mins) that also increases wind strength, not just direction to ensure you're actually travelling at a reasonable speed

Good way to skip from meadows to silver, although it does require that you know how to handle yourself in the mountains

Can also skip eik and use trolls to get a bronze pickaxe. Personally I'd say it's a lot faster to just kill eik for the pickaxe tho

Blocking power as well as your HP level bolster your stagger resistance. It's not just purely armor.

Are you trying to block, or are you parrying? The iron buckler works best with parrying, and that should be more than enough to prevent stagger from a wolf.

Fenris armor is made for mobility, and it's best used if you just don't get hit. Dodge rolling, using ranged weapons, and hitting harder and faster than the enemy is how you need to play it. Silver armor is much better at tanking occasional hits and keeping you from being staggered.

Yup. Gjall are effectively buffed by the feather cape now being weak to fire, but a fire resist mead fixes that. But it's got a buff to jumping in return, which is nice.

I think on Steam you can downgrade the version by selecting the game in your library, select Properties, the BETA tab and select from the list of options. When the update comes through on XBOX you'll have to opt out of the BETA again to upgrade to the latest version.

Dyrnwyn is a wall hanger and will never be particularly useful, I'd wager. They need to balance around multiplayer. So they can't make it too good due to the fact that you only get one.

Fenris armor is worth it. Built in fire and frost protection holds up through the whole game. Staff of protection eventually make some the armor stat itself meaningless.

To upgrade a world to any new version with world changes, the game needs to run some heavy processes that makes Windows think it's stopped responding. You just gotta wait it out, it'll be a couple minutes at most and it should only happen once.
