Fight Modor with a bow, and frost Arrows are very good for leveling bow because they slow anything immensely hit with them

It's one of the reasons why I'm mixed on the idea of making xp gaining based on dmg vs now which is based on pretty much number of attacks

Makes some things that are "efficient" at training actually work. If it wasn't the way it is now then shooting bonemass would just be a waste of time

if you're going down that route keep in mind your attacks don't require stamina, and there are similarly other alternate sources of protecting against damage

They do double dmg at very hard just like all other NPCs, they're not affected by PlayerDamage which is what reduces dmg, but only directly from the player

I assume at very easy they would deal much less dmg like the rest of the creatures

At normal skeletts deal around 50 while at very hard they deal around 100

Use the compass as a reference, any terrain edits directly north/south or east/west will be clean lines

Raise the ground two times and you'll get a perfect square, showing you the grid. Use log beams from that on to set out your building grid.

Mining down a bit works too.

Best thing to keep in mind, each and every building already there the moment you explore the area is set up in an angle to the game's grid. So don't use that as a reference.

But you dont start blocking until the moment they hit you

Aka a "perfect block"

This stuns the enemy more than a block does

in simple terms,, parrying is a timed response to an attack. IRL, it has a specific effect of turning a weapon aside and usually knocking the attacker off balance.

in game, it's a block where you hit the RMB just before the attack hits you. It causes a stagger effect.

Stagger effect of parrying in game is linked to shield type. Tower shields can't parry, round shields and bucklers can. Round shields generally offer 1.5x block power and stagger on a parry and bucklers usually offer 2.5x.

there is a small amount of time before you get hit, where if you start to block, it will be upgraded to a parry -- which will block more damage than normal and also stun enemies briefly

It doesn't. You just need to know what you're wearing and upgrading becomes much more important

Yea played on very hard difficulty before, and main thing is just to avoid star enemies, and just be a lot more prepared, if you do not have like lose all item upon death, then try and die every 5 mins or so to keep the no skill drain going

Doing that can give you a tons of tomb stone which is very useful, while levelling your skill without worrying about lossing your skill level too much with dying

I've played it on Hard and Very Hard. I've played the whole game on Very Hard and its definitely doable but I do think it removes some fun of the game as parrying gets very difficult to do due to massive damage, and you pretty much get oneshot by most things. Vhard kinda pushes you into using more cheesy strategies or at least just using ranged weapons imo unless your dodge game is on point and you are okay taking a while killing enemies in melee.

Hard feels a lot more balanced and I'd recommend it. Additionally,|| Ashlands is quite difficult compared to past biomes and I think going on Hard might be worth it||

I only just now realized the 'immersive camera' option in the accessibility settings is what makes the camera so wobbly and disorientating when your riding on mounts.

Could really use a more blunt name like "Wobbly Mount Camera" to make it more clear that's what causes that effect 😅

It's no so bad on the lox when walking, but it was a lot more aggressive on the eyes when using modded in mounts like the Boar since their animations shifted around more

Welp, after just a few short days of the Mountains I was able to max level all my wolf armor, cape, and multiple weapons and went to go defeat Moder. During the battle, multiple drakes and -3- stone golems joined. Along with a handful of wolves. I had to make a run to my portal nearby a few times but ultimately was able to defeat the boss. Upgraded shield and 2 health foods, and you can just block and party/melee him. Easy peasy.

Simply build a small shack around that portal and you're certain it'll be safe.

The might hit the wooden walls, but they will leave it alone as soon as you're gone.

The only thing you shouldn't do is run to the portal when a troll chaces you; as they may destroy both the house and the portal.

That's why I have adopted the idea of putting up a portal hub under The Elder Altar.
Keeps the main base clean from portals and also keep it simple by not having to rename that one portal in my base over and over again.

I had that with upgrading my forge.
Couldn't figure out why I got it at lvl 6, while I knew there should be one more.
Eventually checked it in dev-commands / debugmode with the costless build and saw the grindstone. And still didn't realize I need the stone cutter for that, but instead wondered where to get that stone cut. 🤦‍♂️

And that's after building and demolishing that stone cutter to build my entire house and base walls.

I cheesed her - for as far that's possible.

Dug out a tiny path at both sides of her altar and put some campfires up there.
Used a bow and Obsidian and later fire arrows at her.

Thus I had a safe spot to hide in and get a bit of a rested bonus too.
Because other as the Obsidian arrows, most Mountain weapons are crap to fight her. Meaning only Iron weapons will work well.
And in that matter is Draugr Fang a better tool.

Any save that you make/load into in the PTB cannot be loaded into an earlier version of the game - so you wouldn't be able to open it in the current live branch anymore. However, once the PTB is pushed to live, any PTB saves will continue working as normal.

Yeah, just wait. There's not great feedback, but it's working in the background. Don't move your mouse, depending on your PC it can take 1-2 minutes or more for all of the world to generate on first try.

It may be more or less evenly.

The pierce resistance for the root harnask will certainly help; but the low armor value may be a problem.
The Carapace piece has higher armor value, but nothing that it negates.

On top of that there's also the speed penalty of both; of which the root harnask has the better stats (2% vs 5%).

So it depends a bit at your prefered type of gameplay. If you prefer speed, pick the root harnask. Otherwise take the carapace chest piece.

Yes, Spinesnap is level 3 max in the current mainline. The buckler may not have much more blocking power, but it has a much higher parry multiplier which is the point of a buckler. But even then... a level 3 silver shield maxes at 72 block, and a carapace buckler starts at 78. It's a pretty big difference, and gets even larger when upgrading.

Got one swamp with bonemass spawn and 5 crypts.
Managed to get 9 full stacks of iron out of that.
And at the west side of the map - seen from my base - I got a swamp with a bonemass spawn and 19! crypts.
I haven't mined there yet, but certainly will if I'm running short of iron before entering Mistlands.

Hello so recently i was exploring ashlands but there is nothing in there. No structures no new mobs no trees or something else. Just looking like mars. İs there any problem with that ? and my world is new generated ????

No problem with that generation, as that biome is still in its test phase.

However, it's likely when it goes full public you will encounter problems there if you build in or near it.
Or that the part you already explored won't generate well enough.

The poison resist is handy if you end up going longer than the poison resist mead timer, but it sounds like the root armor is going to be perfectly reasonable for you. Only things to watch out for are the abominations since they resist piercing.

Birds spawn/land frequently during rainy days, run around a shore line and shoot them with a bow. They startle like deer though, so be careful

Yea, just shoot birds on rainy days near the shore. It's the best way to get feathers before a new mechanic/method after defeating the Plains boss.

Oh... yeah, could be lots of things. I think there are some weird loading bugs where it can die because it clips into a floor or something, but a bat, passing greyling, greydwarf shaman, all kinds of things can kill them outdoors. Outside is very dangerous for chickens.
