Click world modifiers and you can max out the sliders for very hard, max raids, hardcore death penalty, no map, no portals, and reduced resource rate

I’m doing a run on those settings now. My last 3 hour session on those settings I ended with less than I started with lol

Is more granular than just difficulty, if you pick "the hardest" then, permadeath, no map no portals hardcore mode is the way

Tip, when you attack an enemy, look at the colour that the damage number appears in. It shows if the enemy resists or is weak to the damage.

Grey means it resist, white is normal, yellow means it's weak to it.

You know, there were that one patch that allows Ymir flesh to be bought before Bonemass and it’s a thing now, so you can technically make that frost hammer before Bonemass if you don’t mind mountain mining

If you don't get hit by anything else, the poison alone isn't enough to kill you (with the anti poison mead).

It's mostly a problem if you do get hit by other attacks. He only has 1 melee attack, if you recognie it it's easy to dodge.

Just a few meters, but yes. As long as they contact the pillar ~10m or so up then you should be pretty good. Or build up some ground around it a ways so they can't get super close to the base. Enemies won't attack the stairs in general unless they see you and can't get to you.

Root chest just trivializes the (imo) worst enemies from Swamp, Plains, and Mistlands. And on harder difficulty it's so much more needed to half the damage of the enemy because they have so much more damage. So its effective use improves with difficulty

It’s hardcore. Bit of a semantics argument. Permadeath you throw the world away yourself. Hardcore you just lose your inventory so if you have back up gear in your base your only real set back is levels which are negligible

(specifically lure some ticks onto your body with the promise of free blood, then go through a portal, dodge roll to get them off, and run back into the portal setting the ticks loose on the enemy)

More so I'm thinking of it as a way of transporting the ticks to a little prebuilt structure then luring an enemy to it and breaking a part of the structure to make ticks rain down on them

as Queen said, all weapon skills level up when hitting someone. Doesn't matter how many or for how much damage, just how many times you hit someone. Hitting 10 ppl once gives same xp as hitting 1 person once

One sort of exception is that with an axe if you hit both a tree and an enemy at the same time, you progress both woodcutting and axe skill with that one hit

eh. They're decent. Moreso for distractions than actual damage imo. Pairs well if you ||shield them|| with the|| other staff||. Generally pretty bad in mistlands counting terrain tho (too many peaks and valleys above ground, too weird ai pathing in dungeons). I haven't played around with them too much tho

I'm thinking about trying to get myself like 3 archer skeletons to back me up once ashlands come out. They're probably gonna be kinda weak but having 3 skeletons backing you up from behind where they're not in so much danger sounds like a nice little thing to have while you go in and distract, stagger, and beat up the enemy up close. And then you can always just bail on a fight and have the pursuing enemies take out the skellies before going for you
