It will depend who loads the area first, people with better connection will cause less lag for themselves and for others

The game is client authorative so when you move around with other players, the ownership and stuff switches around to different players.

Go to the area that is laggy with other players yourself only and it shouldn't lag.

You can't really compare other multiplayer games with Valheim.
Valheim is entirely client authorative so to have the best experience you need to play with players with the same network as you.

Servers need to be based near players to get the best performance in my experience. I’ve ran several over the years and always have an issue when foreigners would join the US one. If you want a good range, choose a Texas server.
