In the case of Valheim, it's a level of immersion I appreciate, and encourages things like wearing lighter clothing while at home crafting. Things of that nature are really grounding, and automation like that can really lead to less consideration for how things are laid out.

What I see is, if devs put this in the game its because of the beautiful magical universe of Valheim that allows you to do it, but if they don’t, so it’s a grounded decision. You don’t want immersion, you want things to stay as they are. The dev already said that will not put in the game, so be it.

World generation will definitely change within the Deep North (far north of map). Will update when Deep North comes out as long as you have not gone and explored all over it.

Some new items and stuff will likely be added to earlier biomes, though that's no guarantee

Could be that the world got reset, but your character didn't? In that case anything you built, trophies you hung up at the stones of power, etc. would be all gone. But your gear, inventory, skills, and map progress is still there?

In that case I would maybe look to see if there's any backups of the world (can be done from main menu by selecting the world)

Valheim is known to be a tad buggy with saves from what I hear. I've never had an issue but I know a lot of people have had issues before

I know loads about Valheim but I still die constantly and have fun!
Even though I know the internal prefabs by heart and lots of the fields and data and how it all works

Valheim is pretty cartoonish and more humor than gore
There is violence and fighting and blood "pops" when your character dies, but it all goes away after a few seconds, temporary.
I wouldnt say Valheim is gorey at all personally but, maybe cause I play games like Diablo and Doom my pov is skewed

Bodies always stay in one piece and generally they explode in a magical cloud to vanish and give loot

Yeah, it's similar to Minecraft. The combat is a bit more complex, but still accessible. Learn to block and dodge roll, eat and make good food, and you're halfway to beating the game.

I was like how are they going to bring a game to market with all the work required to do that at this scale?

Star Citizen fixed that by marking mission cargo differently.

So if you want to buy/sell your own market cargo - pirate players can hit you and profit.
If you're doing a cargo mission - they pay less, but if someone other than the quest holder attempts to sell the cargo it's worth only 1 unit per box, regardless of contents.

The thing is with all of these - most businesses fail, most startups run out of cash before they start turning a profit
Its the same if youre a game dev as it is with anything else

Investors loose their money all the time. For venture capital, even if only 10% of your investments work out you can make a lot of money because the difference in value from the VC stage to the going public or exit strategy stage is astronomical.
If you buy into kickstarter or early access, you are ssentially an investor.
You gave your cash to an proven developer who dont have all that much to loose, really, if it ends up going cop. Consider that money burned until the day you MAYBE get your finished game.

Earlier today I wanted to test out the Catapult for taking on the Ashland Keeps.

Normally I just scaffold my way up bouncing like Gummy Bear cartoon characters..

But I accidentally hit the wrong hotkey which was 3 instead of 4.. and I sent my Staff of Protection into the mid of the keep. I didn't notice until I needed to use it as I was aggro-ing mobs lol. I laughed so hard about it, I'm not exactly sure where it landed. If it flew over the keep into the lava because I saw no sparkles or when I proceeded to launch Explosive Payload if some how it got destroyed in the midst of me using the Catapult.

I wasn't able to recover I, had to craft a new one but was sure funny 😂

Eh i dunno about that one. Frostner is pretty strong, but I never found it to really break the game. It still takes skill to be in melee combat

why people use a sword instead of atgeir when it's available? a sword needs more materials because let's be fr it's nothing without a shield and the heavy attack is most of the time useless

Higher parry/block using a shield is a certain playstyle. I’ll often prioritize a parry buckler (2.5x) over 1.5x shields because a good parry opens a massive damage window 👍🏽

It’s a massive advantage in those situations. Parry a seeker soldier with 2.5x and use your 2nd attack with a mistwalker on the vulnerable point and you’re doing hundreds of damage vs ategir

yep no vanilla way to know the exact time, for swamp's "regular progression" you shouldn't have frost resistant armour pieces so the "you feel cold" message defines nightfall, also dedicated musical cue is there in any biome/area/frostresist condition
