all other skills aren't that hard to level up - archery or crossbows are SO useless when you first use them compared to literally any other weapon - other weapons don't have a massive speed difference based on skill level

Crossbows are especially bad to level up. Bows, with the exception of the crude bow, are not that bad.

the main issue is the rate of fire - most mobs have resistance to pierce, which is why crossbows become more useful than bows later

if you are on a low skill level for bows and crossbows I'd take the crossbow cause i'll use it for a first snipe when picking fights
bows only beat them when you have a high rate of fire

again, that just isn't an issue with other weapons, so I'd really love a way to level up your skills in a meaningful way so you can have a decent skill level

out in the field, it's not practical to try and level your skills other that just using your bow on enemies since it costs ammo compared to all other weapons

True. But bows naturally level up much faster than crossbows because of the way that exp gain works. Ultimately, even with a decent skill crossbows are largely good for an opening shot. A decent bow level makes bows a better weapon throughout a prolonged fight.

well it doesn't really matter that much, since the traders only need 1000 meters from their own locations, not from other trader locations. and since there can only be one location for each trader set in the world, the fact that possible locations are 1000 meters far from the others is really useless, since you only need to/can find one

hey, i been away from valheim for a while, i was wondering, did anyone else had a problem with previous discovered land, now being all messed up with the updates?

like i had some mistland and ashlands discovered, today i went there and the terrain was all lower, making the rocks float and the mountain house fall apart as there was no longer a mountain there.

and the ashlands i had found, now are just rocks sticking off water. and also have trees form the original terrain just fall to the new terrain, making them be in water.

damn, never had this happen before, i had mistlands discovered before it came out, and when it came out, it stayed the same, only the terrain found was generated from scratch, only difference from both was that one had old vegetation and new had new, all just like they always said it was gonna be.

stuff discovered stayed and new discoveries where then based on new update.

this really sucks, that area now looks like shit.

Well when mistlands came out we had already discovered the portion of the map where the mistlands would be and after it released the mistlands wouldn't load at all. we had like 200 hours in that map alone made a new map rushed to the mistlands and there it was went back to our old map and it couldn't load. We had already discovered the world at that point so we lost our huge map.
