I went back to Mistlands fully equip with Ashlands Flametal gear and 325 HP and the Gjall still almost killed me.
Fire AOE and dmg is no joke, that's why the Staff of Embers is so good, even in Ashlands

Right, so I haven't even seen the fifth boss but somehow the dream went like this... (I'll keep it short)

I was on a train, ended up watching someone squish some potatoes with an excavator. I ended up in some random persons apartment and we had to catch a bus somewhere and at the end of the trip I had to go back on the bus to get my coat. I ended up arguing with the driver as they thought I was trying to get back on without paying...

the drivers were robots I might add, so I destroyed both of them with my katakana. (Yes, for some reason I had one, and why were there two robot bus drivers??) Soooo, now that I had hijacked the bus, we ended up stopping in the plains and we were right next to a goblin village and what my mind made up the fifth boss to be.

The fifth boss was in a big lake and had tons of tentacles to drag you in, you could imagine trying to fight that 😐 meanwhile, the peasants on the bus were fleeing from the Fuling. The Fifth boss eventually came out of the water. It was huge although I couldn't describe it accurately, especially now the dream slips my mind as typing.

It's a dream so none of it makes sense anyway. It was pretty wild is all I have to say. Sorry for the wall of text guys. 🙂

2-3 people in Canada/US on fast connections a dedicated west coast G-portal server is virtually unplayable when fighting multiple mobs in the Ashlands. It's not framerate lag, it's netcode latency. Mobs pop in and out and freeze, then you're dead. This has been a problem throughout Valheim's lifecycle, but is exacerbated by the Ashlands even more. (3000k+ hours of Valheim here).

If you lower settings and you still experience performance issue, then it's definitely a game problem.

But I've seen more than one player complaining about performance without minding at all about already possible solutions. Such as not building something that would skyrocket the instances count to 100k despite perfectly knowing what might happen or simply lowering the graphics.

The common area we have is a mountain top converted to a castle which takes up the entire mountain top. Its probably 300 x 200 stone floor pieces large so not seeing far basically means not seeing a huge building "across the street". I've kind of taken to have multiple mini-basses away from it because its gotten so unweildy perf wise

We (4man team) are playing on a dedicated hosted server and it lags so bad in combat that we don't know what hit us and what died in front of us. Someone is away in the distance wailing on a tree branch thinking it's an archer whilst 2 others randomly end up in the lava and the 4th is running madly from 12 charred and a morgen, not seeing the Asksvin charging for a lava knockback, and in the distance - sirens. 😄
I do believe that this is an issue with the hosted server and our 4 play sessions having trouble syncing, I think a Dev said something to that 54 km above here when I asked about lags on multiplayer ways back... Perhaps it also takes into account the millions of item drops and stones and wood and bone and such littering the place lol!
However, this behaviour is still very much present and it takes away a large chunk of enjoyment for me at least. Maybe I'll play some solo Ashlands first, just to get the hang of it and then rejoin my friends...

We are all vanilla and live within the same country and close to a server location for the hosting I use, so that shouldn't be the issue.... We used mods before there was a map table in vanilla, and it was a hassle to get them to work on everyones computer since not all of us understand "tech instructions" for mods. I was basically help desk lol and I don't want to do that again for the hosting. 🙂 but maybe if you have it, send me a pm about that stabilizing mod. 🙂

Yeah, the issue is that the nighttime spawns are based on world state (bosses defeated), and don't check the nearby player like raids do. Raids only spawn around a player, so they can be gated by player progression.

The cart has terrible movement. A cart is not a substitute for additional inventory slots.
