They're not, not really. A lot of people just don't like the burning sensation on their tongue/lips, so they avoid spicy food all-together, but jalapeno is like way at the bottom of the scoville scale. Still hot enough to make you tear up though, if you can't handle stuff like that.

Ashlands will be slightly different. There will be terraforming, even on old worlds. Any explored areas will not get new content, but it will still be terraformed and likely break any structures. Enemies will appear in the explored areas, but most of the other content just won't show up. Unexplored areas will work as intended in general for the game though, and all content should be fully available if you haven't revealed the map for the area yet. Ashlands will be a completely separate island after the update, it will no longer be accessible by land.

VPNs are generally recommended against, and can cause total failures of connections. They add multiple hops and processing to your network connections that are good for security and obfuscation of source, but they add lag just by their very nature.

Yeah, so, it will depend on the server owner and their network rules in overall... if they're in like China or something, or are filtering connections based on geography, you won't be able to connect. Networking can get very complicated 😉 But in general people are not going to want you on a VPN at all, and if you can't connect to a server without a VPN you probably want to just find a different server in general.

I think VPNs don't play well with Playfab for Crossplay. But VPNs work fine among PC players not on Playfab. In my experience.

If it's just a single hop VPN in your same region, the latency impact should be negligible

Elaborate multi hop VPN stuff should only be considered if you're an oppressed political dissident or something.

Short story is because it's still in early access, and macOS is actively working to get rid of OpenGL compatibility (which that code uses, and Apple is currently years behind on their OpenGL extensions) so it's not a long-term strategy. They might make one that's Metal native after full release, depending on what Unity engine provides, but it's just a lot more risky than it provides benefit at this point. It would also distract them from working on the core game content, which isn't ideal for anyone.

Oh yeah have they added a renewable/farmable source of iron yet? One thing that always aggravated me is the majority of iron in crypts isn't even mineable; it spawns in spheres that mostly lie out of bounds and if mined drops iron somewhere in the overworld.

The frost cave doors help a bit at least

agree, meadows should stay as the first. its calm enough where new players have something to do without being overwhelmed from the get go in a genre were survival games can quickly become overwhelming. in my first playthrough i honestly thought the pacing of the game and how it introduces new mechanics and dungeons was near enough perfect
the game should and will get harder as the later biomes are added (ashlands and deep north)
returning/staying in the meadows is still viable as a biome. my co op world has their starting houses built up into a secure village in the meadows as an almost peaceful safe haven as there isn't much threat to worry about there after going out adventuring

I use iron mace and buckler. Parry first attack then almost stun them to death with either attack

Frostner does the same amount of blunt damage as a base level bronze mace. It's still an amazing weapon, just not against golems. Iron mace is the highest one-handed blunt damage in the game currently, unless you count the fire staff.

Yeah, the Frostner is one of the weapons that useful for the longest time in the game so far. It's great through the Plains and the Mistlands, and serviceable against most things in the Mountains even, except Moder and Golems.
