Productive, fun, annoying and painful.
Productive: We accomplished a whole lot, baked, cooked, cleaned and set things to right that were a long time coming.
fun: Got a massage and bow chika wow wow from the misses, games were played, jokes were made, laughs were had.
Annoying: the kids jumped on their bed which they know they aren't allowed to do and broke it, annoyed each other and were very hyper, yeah it is their ADHD and autism that causes the problems so we can't really fault them for it but still annoying.
painful: While fixing the bed, I had to contort myself in weird positions with the drill and screwdrivers so my lumbago flared up again, luckily Im scheduled for another massage tomorrow at the physiotherapist.

The annoying and painful parts were overshadowed by the feelings the productivity and fun we had gave us though.
So a pretty good weekend.

1.5 tbsp vegetable or peanut oil
2 garlic cloves , finely minced
1/2 onion , finely sliced
300g chicken or other protein , sliced 0.5cm (pork, beef, turkey, prawns/shrimp or tofu)
2 medium carrots , peeled and cut into 4 x 0.75cm batons
1 large red capsicum / bell pepper , sliced (or 2 small)
6 green onions , cut into 5 cm lengths
500g Lo Mein, Hokkien or other medium thickness egg noodles
65ml water

Sauce:
4 tsp cornflour / cornstarch
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce or light soy sauce
1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine or Mirin
1 tsp white sugar (omit if using Mirin)
1/2 tsp sesame oil , toasted, optional
1/4 tsp white pepper

Sauce: Mix cornflour and dark soy until lump free, then add remaining Sauce ingredients.
Season Chicken: Transfer 2 tsp Sauce into bowl with chicken. Toss to coat.
Heat oil in a wok or large heavy based skillet over high heat until smoking.
Add onion and garlic, stir 30 seconds.
Add chicken, stir until white on the outside, still raw inside - 1 minute.
Add carrot and capsicum/bell peppers, cook 2 minutes or until chicken is cooked.
Add noodles, Sauce and water. Use 2 wooden spoons and toss for 30 seconds.
Add green onions, toss for another 1 minute until all the noodles are slick with sauce.

No cooking required, just a very sharp knife and slice that steak as thinly as you can, add some rocket salad, parmezan shavings, a dash of olive oil and if you want some basilico oil. Sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper on it and dig in.

You can go to the more asian style and have some (2 parts) soy sauce, (1 part) vinegar, (1 part) gingersyrup, half a tea spoon to a tea spoon of sambal and a few drops of sesame oil, mix that up and set aside for dipping the meat into.
You can add some finely chopped coriander to the sauce and have some rocket salad as a side dish.

0.5 kg potatoes, peeled and grated
400 gr to 0.5 kg of montasio cheese you can also use pecorino romano, parmigiano reggiano, asiago, latteria or semi to old gouda.
A sliced onion.

A bit of oil in a pan, add in the onion till slightly glassy texture about a minute or two
Add the potatoes and let that do its things till they get a slightly golden colour
Put in the cheese and stir till the cheese has melted
make a thick pancake disk out of it all and let it brown
flip it over and let the other side brown as well.
Serve with a salad and some bread.

(As an example of what I mean, for Minecraft (or at least some versions), one can use the seed to calculate sub seeds that govern different attributes, meaning one could, for example, calculate how to keep a certain heightmap while changing the biomes.

#2 and #3 are pretty common, they're iirc on the thirds of the available area.
but #1 is near the northern end of the available area, so it's incredibly rare to have it on a seed, and even rarer for it to be below the deep north. (not that that's needed, since deep north doesn't negatively affect mountains the way ashlands do.)

from what i understand, there are a few layers.
the rough shape of terrain, then a very subtle layer that adds a bit of randomness to that heightmap, and the biomes.
these are procedurally generated (even the terrain shape layer) but apparently always arrive at the same result regardless of the seed, the seed seems to just move this result around by 0-21,000 meters on X and Z, creating a 42x42 km available area of island shapes.
forcing a world to generate without a world's edge reveals a seemingly infinite number of similarly generated islands that can't be matched to any of the known ones outside of this square, as jere once demonstrated.

So... yeah. PRNG functions are interesting, but they're generally designed so that small changes have large effects on the output as it continues. So iterating on a single seed will only trigger your pattern seeking, if it's done correctly (and I'm pretty sure it is) it will still be as different as any other two seeds might be or not be.

Minecraft is "simple" with a lot of it's map generation, so it's much easier to iterate through a ton of seeds to find what you're wanting. I'd have to look into the generators, but I would be surprised if it wasn't similar. Lots of the seed generators seem to use multi-processing and lots of threads to just iterate through a ton of options to find one that matches what a user wants.

Guarantee you that's how it works. That's what the "seed" is on a computer PRNG generator... it can take a string, it'll convert it to bytes or bits or whatever it wants internally, and then serially output a bunch of "random" numbers. The fun thing is those "random" numbers are going to be exactly the same based on the same seed/starting value, but the point of those functions is that they're unpredictable beyond the initial values.

in terms of coverage, the only changes were the size of its splorts increasing and the outer limit of swamps decreasing significantly.
the distance range of mistlands remained the same, as did the worldgen heightmap.

I looked on my old maps for the general location. Expecting to see mountain on water. But none exist now. Haven't bothered sailing or flying as none of the mountains look correct.

i could generate a new world with the first seed i ever used and the only things that would be different would be:

1. rivers, those for some reason changed with the mistlands update, but only on freshly generated worlds, old worlds remained the same.
2. swamps stop at 6000 meters rather than 7500.
3. mistlands areas are bigger than before but still have the same distance range.
4. and pois/biome clutter of course, those get shuffled every few versions

i use the lightbreak timbre (layered the frostfang horn onto it) if ailment negation is needed, alatreon revival (layered the gold rathian horn onto it) if elemental resistance and/or damage is needed, safi's shatterhorn with the purple-red-green noteset (layered the velkhana horn onto it) if heals are needed but most of the time when i just wanna deal as much damage as i can, i use the fatalis menace wailer (with the legiana horn layered onto it).
used to be the shrieking legiana horn, since i prefer that one's looks over the regular legiana one, but the regular one sounds so much better.

I love the gold rathian horn so much I layered its model onto the fatalis wailer and it's the one I use the most nowadays

My alatreon revival got the styg zinogre model, and I made a whole rocker layered set for it~

i love the design, but i prefer the sounds of the regular rathian horn, so i just left it to one of my lesser-used ones.
plus, the legiana design just feels too fitting for me to pass up

i also kiiinda miss how incredibly shiny the gold rathian horn was before world

the marble texture suits it and they definitely still gave it an interesting material shader in world, still has a bit of that subtle iridescence, but it was really shiny and i love shiny things
