Not really, it's learning how to use the distort and clear command properly

My process is:
- Make the general shape of the terrain out of stone walls
- Define the regions using floors
- Distort them so that they look good
(This following part is optional and a bit trickier to pull off, I personally use it for easy and consistent terrain) - Fill empty space with a wall you aren't using, usually something such as metal walls from V8, but can be anything as long as it is not in your map, this will be used to ignore the playable area with the clear command
- Use clear command in the generate tab, the target is the floor, the replacement will be the metal wall, and it will ignore the wall you just used to fill the playable area. Repeat for all floors.
- Fill erase the wall you filled the playable area with
- Adjust inconsistencies/weird stuff manually

They will build t1 and t2 airships in this base, and in the bottom one, t2 tanks and t1 spiders

Asthosus has a planet for json you can look at. It's source code is free to use last I remember
