It would be nice to have a few more surface materials with distinct textures, for example different types of wood or patterned tiles – I’ve included a few examples for reference. Even though these are mainly aesthetic details, they can really enhance the feel of a building game. I’m curious whether additions like this are being considered, or if they are expected to come mostly through mods. It might also be interesting to have a tool that allows adjusting the aging of surfaces, for example rust on metal or weathering on wood. However, this would require an extension of the building menu, possibly including a small preview window to display the available surfaces or materials.

The devs said that textures are very imperformant. I'm not sure if they will add textures.
sad
Well there is no carbon based life on the planet yet, much less trees. Where would the wood come from?
Mars
Why was there wood on Mars? 😄
We had a discussion with batcholi ago that featured a DLC with mars. Don't remember a lot but I think I still remember hearing that plants and animals may have existed during that time, don't remember though
A big "maybe", that's actually why it's being studied in real life, it's a planet that may have been more hospitable, unfortunately there's no confirmation of anything for now ^^
Yeah. I'm not sure but I think we also talked about a DLC playing in a later time where there is life on earth
Flodksm mentioned in a conversation that Archean might eventually just be a name and doesn’t necessarily have a direct impact on the game – even though this is completely without official confirmation. In that context, the assumption is a bit of a stretch, but not entirely illogical.
I also didn’t suggest only wood structures, but added metal structures as well. The point about there being no carbon-based life or trees on the planet mainly refers to the supposed era implied by the name – according to the statement itself, this doesn’t necessarily have to be relevant for the game.
take the route that life refused, go silicon-based
