When editing the flows in the computer, after the 'area' seems to consume a sizeable area, the entire client will crash to desktop after a few seconds from a memory leak.

With just the editor open I can see the memory climb rapidly with all of the nodes in the editor and deleting them, the memory stops climbing.

If more info is needed (or a blueprint of the ship this occurs on) let me konw.

** INFO **

  • Crash occurs between 8 seconds and 22 seconds from opening the flight.main.xc
  • Memory climbs rapidly on the client when the editor is open
  • Memory stops climbing when deleting all nodes
  • Client crashes at 100% memory usage

** PC SPECS **

Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16IRX8
CPU: i9-13900HX
RAM: 32GB DDR5
GPU: RTX 4080
HDD: 2x NVMe 1TB

I'm not sure where the logfiles are for this game. I've scoured appdata and the directory where steam installs the game. Nothing with .log.

We do indeed need to reproduce the issue
Perhaps a specific node configuration is causing the problem

I’m not inclined to test all possible node combinations 😛

Something there that is wonky is that I'm trying to update a variable when Q/E is pressed and it utterly refuses. I'm not sure if that's it or if that gives a hint on where to start.

Were you able to reproduce the issue?

That's one of the first things we're going to try tomorrow morning (in about 6 hours).

I started testing on my end, but it leads me to a problem that has nothing to do with your specific world that we need to solve first ^^

There is something server-side about this becuase after about 8-10 crashes I get this and then I constantly get these back to back and have to restart the server every time which is really annoying the players 😦

This has gotten bad enough all I have to do is type 1 character and it crashes.

Hopefully this gets sorted pretty quick.

The server is running Debian 12 with default firewall rules and

Accept If protocol is UDP and destination is 172.17.0.2/32 and input interface is not docker0 and output interface is docker0 and destination port is 8881```

Hopefully that helps.

I can confirm that this only happens when there are more than 1 players online!!!! When the last player logged, I was able to freely edit my code and no crashes, he logged back in, you guessed it lol.

# dreamy wolf Ok, that means I wouldn't be able to encounter the problem when playing solo?

I don't think so. I can't remember if in the past if someone was on or not.

In this situation, I had a friend from the UK on the server, he was mining and doing stuff, and every time I entered any character in the IDE interface, I would get a crash and I'm unsure if it is server or client side - the launcher was still up.

However, after about 5-6 times of crashing back to back, he was still online, mining just fine and it wouldn't let me reconnect to the server until I restarted the docker (not sure if the docker has any kind of built-in firewall that looks for connection attempts as brute force attempts or something...)

However, when he logged off briefly, it stopped. I was able to edit just fine for about 2-3 mins; when he logged back in it was back-to-back crashing again.
