#Sonic Boom (And Longer Ranged Sound)

Right now if someone flies fast over me with a jet I don't hear a thing. In real life, you can hear planes from an incredible distance away. I would love to both have sonic booms heard by other players when a vehicle is traveling past the speed of sound, and in general longer ranged sound to be more in line with what you might realistically hear. It would really add to immersion and the cool-factor of someone flying a craft rapidly overhead.

(Of course none of this would apply in space because it's a vacuum).

Ah, I remember my atmospheric sound effects mod for SE haha, was probably the most popular thing I ever made.

It even had sound delay for far away stuff.
Basically recorded the velocity and position every second for the last 30 seconds for a vessel and depending on your distance it would play the sound based on how many seconds it would take for the sound to arrive. I had a simple approximation of the loudness and bass depending on the mass of the vessel. But of course you could do a lot more by taking into account the aerodynamics etc in this.

Unfortunately I stopped playing SE and I had a few reports that it stopped working in one of the updates and I didn't have the time or motivation to fix it 😦

Would love for some mild camera shake and aeros kicking up dust off the ground from wings and rockets being close to the ground too

Someone did a flyby at Mach 10 like 15 feet above my head

I think a little camera shake or dust would do
