#Murdock Needs a Rework

I think this hero is kinda bad in that the hero feels like just his shotgun and sniper and thats it.

The shotgun damage is bloated to the point it basically puts someone to quarter HP because its all he has in a fight. sprint and land mines that are overal pretty damn mid skills without some other type of combo.

make him kinda whack as a hero when all his damage is front loaded onto a single skill.

I suggest reworking the hero so his kits damage is more spread out and more interesting to utilize.

example you dont have to take these but ideas.

Passive :
murdock gain his movespeed only when targets HP were low the sirens trigger and he would run them down.

Shotgun: damage significantly reduced but does a similar armor shred function.

Land mines make them invisible after being placed and make them slow when you step on them.

New skill could be a number of things hes a cop right be creative make him truley a space cop with the rework.

that is all.

I mean I been gone 6 months but you look at all the heroes in the game and murdock just feels so dated

???? Ive probably played like 25- 30 games since Ive been back I have 1.76k hours on steam. Its not hard to notice a bad kit dude when you play the game a ton. Im not saying hes weak im saying his kit sucks and all his damage is on 1 single skill its not very good in terms of how it feels to play into and playing it. because its like bam chunk someones healthbar single skill use while rest of kit is a movement speed boost and basically pointless feeling traps most of the time.

My mistake. I misunderstood what you said as that it had been six months since you played the game. Not that you only recently started playing again.

Murdock is not a caster. He is a basic attacker. He has one of the highest basic attack scaling of any ranged hero in the game. Being beaten only by Wraith who has hybrid scaling. He is a simple character by design. All his basic abilities allow him to keep enemies at his preferred range and support his powerful basic attack. His ultimate is the only exception to this really. It simply makes his range the entire map so everyone is in it.

Buckshot does have very high damage but that is based on distance. At point blank range it will hit very hard but that drops off quickly with distance. If a Murdock is rushing straight up to you to try to get Buckshot off he's going to be routinely overextending and will end up getting punished for it pretty soon.

Also if you actually build into them Traps can be quite powerful. They go from being a minor nuisance to inattentive players to becoming a field of landmines that you can toss out at a moments notice. This is based on their recently added high magic scaling so your basic attack damage will suffer as a result. Making this build more suited to playing as a support.

I understand what murdock does Im not saying its weak im saying his kit is outdated and his whole kit relies to much on buck shot which is why I suggested what I did.

current murdock is to shotgun reliant.

the traps are easy to get around unless teamates help you utilize them, having a sprint button as the only other ability outside of the mine and shotty again the whole hero is frontloaded damage onto a single ability. Im suggesting to rework the kit to both be more reliable for the murdock player in how the traps function but also in the fact his sprint becomes built into the kit the root becomes built into the kit once a condition is met and you open up a slot for a completely new skill to compliment the changes. so you can move all this frontloaded damage off of shot gun and spread out what he does all across the kit rather then in just being on the shotgun.

Sirens is a pretty underwhelming ability I will admit but remember that it also increases your attack speed. The Traps are an area denial tool. It's great when they do root someone but their primary function is to limit your opponent's mobility by limiting where they can go. It gives you control over the enemy's movement. The root is a punishment for not taking the hint. It provides the necessary incentive to get players avoid them.

@rain magnet his kit is boring definitely dated but he's nearly unbeatable if you know how to play him junglers have issues ganking trap into buckshot push into another trap and traps last long enough for your ult to hit has one of the highest basic attacks in the game with a movement speed buff and attack speed buff in one abilities his passive alone gives him massive wave clear and poke his buckshot has one of the highest damage in all of carrys even over shadowing some ults on average most build are 600-900 buckshots in a 3-6s CD Murdock is perfectly fine

Tbh before they changed most of the game mechanics Merdock could really hussel but he does feel lot weaker compared to now especially if trying to lock enemy down but can’t because they walk out range and he don’t have his speed boost any more with hot pursuit even his base movement speed was faster before they nerfed him god know why
