Not sure how this happened, but my silver lobby just now had a brand new ranked player (Bronze 3 - zero VP). Fed their butt off, but somehow we won a single fight and went for core for the win.

Please separate low level accounts, bronze ranked, and number of ranked games played as matchmaking criteria even if queue times take longer.

Game uses mmr to match make

#

Players start at average mmr

#

You are at average mmr

every day the same posts.

It just shows how intransparent the game is

#

The game and the web site explain nothing about match making

stiff pewter
#

The loading screen for a ranked match clearly reads "similar skilled players"

rare cave

literally explains how matchmaking uses mmr but ok

How do you find game relevant info? In the news section?

it's an article from 2023

#

it's about bla bla why Omeda can't improve much

#

we are ending 2025 in few days

#

There is a reason why we 2 years later find posts daily about how bad match making is

#

nothing has improved

#

"conscious decision... to bias towards faster matchmaking times."

#

yep it explains in few words why the experience is so bad

the gadget's mmr will drop and theyll play against worse people, as can already be seen by their most recent game with 6/10 bronze players and 4/10 silver players

these days it seems difficult to read ~3000 words and remember what was just read.

your attention span is that bad???

#

why? it's written there in the post from 2023

#

it's stated that they favor shorter search times over mote fair teams

#

it's several times explained what MMR is just in different words - aka AI slope

#

3000 words to say that Omeda is uninspired about match making.

Instead of asking players when looking for ranked if they prefer fair teams or shorter search times omeda decided that's best to favor short search times.

# rare cave this is explaining nothing? https://www.predecessorgame.com/en-US/news/dev-diary...

"When you queue up for a match, the system begins by searching for players and parties closest to your MMR value. As your ticket moves through the queue and the matchmaker starts to assemble a potential game of 10 players, it navigates the difficult tradeoff between holding out for teammates who are more similar to your skill level and ensuring that you’re able to find a match in a reasonable amount of time.

While some players might advocate for longer matchmaking times and slower MMR range expansion in exchange for matches with a narrower range of MMR, there is a practical limit to how balanced you can make matches given a certain population size and amount of time players are willing to wait before giving up. We made a conscious decision at the beginning of Early Access to bias towards faster matchmaking times to ensure players can play more matches of Predecessor while we continue to develop the game, and while we still believe that to be the right course, we acknowledge that the quality bar for match fairness has suffered as a result.

We’re sorry, and we’re working hard to fix it."

From 2023, but feels like no improvements were implemented today.

I actually checked on the new player's ranked matches just now cause I was curious.

They actually played 9 games before the one I linked above, but they lost most of them so their vp stayed at 0.

They also always go 0 or 1 kill and 10+ deaths.

Their two most recent games had a team average of 250 to 350 vp so bronze 1 to silver 3.

Not sure if bronze 3 should be lumped into that pool if they prove to not understand even the basics.

Yeah they're shit Shrug
They get put with worse and worse people

#

But I dont think you or anyone would want a system that ranks you on kda,
