In Yin trailer it is mentioned that Yin is a hybrid ADC jungler, and after having played her I can confirm that she works perfectly well in the ADC role and is pretty strong in that role.

She should be put as an option in the ADC section as the ADC she is.

Also, she isn't in the offlane role where she also performs perfectly well.

Iirc they haven't put any chatacter in 3 different positions despite some working in many, such as steel/riktor
I would like for her to be put in one extra role, for me it would be offlane, but carry also makes sense as that is what they advertised as

It makes the roster to look more original and diverse. Like with Argus and Belica support

Also, I would put Steel/Riktor as offliner jungler, they work in both positions it's weird having one as a jungler and the other as an offlaner when depending on the patch one can be better than the other in the role that he is not recommended

Honestly role suggestions should be done based on data like it does on League. They use previous season data to suggest roles for champs based on where they were played the most

Yin have a pick rate in duo lane close to Wraith, 3% and 4.17%, but the number probably would be different if Yin was recommended as a ADC and Wraith wasn't, or if Wraith was never recommended as n ADC option

#

And I think that is even more important in cases like Yin where its a special case of a mele ADC which a more casual player could never think on playing her as ADC

Thats why Camille in League, a traditionally top lane champion was put in Support because of her pressence as a Support pick by pro players, and then everyone else afterwards

#

Its out of the meta now, so unsure if she's still there. But it was definitely a thing. I'd imagine Janna top with smite was suggested as a top laner too when she was everywhere. (She's support)

But with a playerbase like preds, if I alone play exclusively aurora adc for a month, it will make a big impact on the numbers

You can play whatever you want on every role. If you have the experience to be able to play yin carry or steel jungle you can just pick them. Nothing stops you from it.
But on the other hand if you don't know who to pick in carry role picking yin will give your support (and yourself) the worst experience possible. She is playable as carry, but i don't want to see a gold player trying her out.
Coun and fey supp are also played quite often, same goes to muriel off. But that is nothing a new player should try out, who tries out a role.
