#Iggy & Scorch attack speed build

An iggy build that can 1v1 most of the roster with ease. Including vs another Iggy and pre primal fangtooth.

The reasoning behind this build is:

Iggy's basic attack is nothing special but it does apply slick which stacks and slows...also more slick on a target makes Molotov and turrets more effective in DOT. Higher attack speed just makes you able to apply slick more reliably, gets your turrets to target heros more quickly, and allows you to be more of a threat in between your Molotov's and oil spill.

Thus, I've made use of every item available that builds attack speed and magical power. Sadly there isn't a great deal of options, but the existing options are fine...

Crest, you go Typhoon.
The dash you get is nothing special but after some experience with using it, it can win you a 1v1 battle or get you out of a Gideon ult. The attack speed and magic damage is the cherry on the cake and supports the rest of the build.

First item - Prophecy - sets up your basic attack to actually make use of all the magical power you will be buildig.

Second item - Magnify - just adds that extra attack speed and magnifies prophecy, literally. Yes three basic hits to trigger the passive is a bit ass - but you will find the turrets trigger the passive and so it's an instant application of 50% magical damage. Which is perfect when you think about it as every three shots your pretty much instantly dealing that 50% Magical damage.

Third item - Mutilator - for more value from your basic attacks- (Update, this item is a rogue choice, pick it if you are feeling experimental, the lifesteal is definitely noticeable which is nice, but there's probably a better item that will build magical power)

Fourth item - Oath keeper - has good stats, further makes use of your magical power and basic attacks

Fifth item - go with whatever you think, up to you

Anyway, this build, you rely on mana buff or frequent recalls.

I'm on console so if you have pc aim you will probably do even better

For example, was a recent game running this build, our team was getting stomped, but even so, my hero damage output was sitting at the top and even got X3 physical damage than usual.^

Awesome bro but one thing on prophecy, the scale isn't with attack speed, it's with 40 percent of your ability haste, so the more haste you get, the more it adds to attack speed. Gonna try this out now thx bro

#

Also, I disagree with a few like mutilator, that doesn't scale your stuff with magical power. You're gonna wanna do a magical power one instead. Also instead of the typhoon go obelisk it's way better for scaling magical power DMG.

#

I'll let u know after I try a game and see what I find out

Ultimately, mana is the main issue with this build, I've started to just go timewarp first item so I can actually have some sustainability without mana buff. But it comes with a lackluster passive

How about orb of enlightenment? Also the first staff that only costs like 2800 that stacks mana and once u get to 400 gives u 3.5 % of max mana towards magic power. That, and world breaker scale your magic power up close to or above 100

Each iten

So I only played like 3 matches w Iggy last night am gonna jump on here in a few and play like 5 games if u wanna add me my PSN is youngbloodr67

#

I have a lvl 10 twinblast lvl 3 or 4 crunch and like 5 at lvl 2. Started about a month ago

#

I'm gonna try orb, that staff that's the first one on Midlane that gives the mana I think it's called azure or something, and then I'll do whatever is needed after that. The main reason I like the azure staff or w.e it's called is that it gives u extra mana and mag power and it's the cheapest one by 100 points so it's easy to get early

#

Maybe try the staff first item because it scales ur mana and also give u like 100 magic power once u get the mana to 400

Switch Mutilator for Caustica and you’ll do way more magic damage and not have mana problems

Also think I’m about picking iggy up

Yeah I've tried orb a couple times, definitely a viable pick and will deffo keep trying it here and there. Tried the staff thing once or twice, undecided, also tried worldbreaker as like 4th or 5th item. Decent pick too. But I find I get the most power out of having prophecy 1st, magnify 2nd and then once you have Typhoon and the odd mana buff. I'm still experimenting with the best 3rd 4th and 5th items.

I have a hard time aiming his Molotov on controller

queen viper

i find the molotov pretty forgiving cos of its large AOE - its more judging the right height to throw it the right distance is the harder part for me.

I thought of a pretty lowkey reason why building attack speed on Iggy works well, throwing a Molotov (his most spammable ability) does not interrupt his basic attacks. So you can be spitting oil at a constant rate and throwing molotovs simultaneously. And the more oil on the target, the longer the DOT of molotov.

I've been using a new build for Iggy that still uses prophecy and typhoon, but addresses the mana issue a bit better:

1st item - timewarp (gives you enough mana to see you through the early game) and the 25 haste will convert nicely to just over 10% attack speed when you get prophecy next.

2nd item - prophecy - the most important item for the build.

3rd item - oathkeeper - builds haste which also builds more attack speed from prophecy, strong passive, builds health. Great choice.

4th item / 5th item - I tend to go for mage items that build health and some haste, so maybe tainted scept. Maybe the armour options too.

Main thing is we removed magnify, so we don't have that extra attack speed chunk, however we build other items with haste that gets converted to attack speed. Though magnify does give a nice health stat. Magnify still works, I just think the passive isn't as good as oathkeeper etc.

@queen viper so 4th item Tainted Scept and 5th item?

once you have typhoon activated, and you got 1. timewarp 2. prophecy you can then go one of two routes - A) get magnify as third item or B) skip magnify and proceed to build any good mage item that builds haste (to make up for no magnify) and health.

Long story short - typhoon / timewarp / prophecy is the meat of the build, the rest is just personal preference and most items will work ontop, depending on what you are looking to build, if you want more attack speed to make further use of typhoon / Iggy's passive and prophecy, then you want to go for magnify OR items which build haste.

Do you want some tenacity instead of more attack speed?

Do you want some armour instead of some attack speed?

Do you want megascom as well for that extra ability damage?

I mention tainted scept because it gives a nice health stat, decent haste (which converts to attack speed) and has a nice ability which counters certain heros.

What I'm saying is, after prophecy, there isn't many items that are bad choices. Try some out. I just seem to go for oathkeeper (health and big haste and a complimentary passive)

Tainted scept (described above)

Magnify (huge attack speed and really nice health stat)

Etc etc

I'm saying! Attack speed on mages is underrated

For Morigesh I go

Typhoon
Prophecy
TimeWarp
Resolution
Caustica
Oblivion Crown

You have increased attack speed without sacrificing your real damage in the ability aspect. Prophecy is already adding magical damage to your basic attacks so no need to worry about building into attack power and you have to be careful with stuff that says "on your next basic attack" because if you miss that's it. That's why I nix Oathkeeper

And usually when your brawling up close with a big ass hitbox like steel or something, you can't really miss
