#Stun, Rooting, Immobilizing, Crowd Control, Takedown — what's the difference?

Thanks to Rei 王, we know how roots work:
"Roots stop all forms of movement when they are applied and therefore block heroes from being able to use mobility skills. Some examples are Sevarog dash, Rampage leap, Gideon portal, Dekker double jump, Kallari ult, blink, etc."

I hope now the developers urgently make a glossary that will be right in the CLIENT of the game.

I'm literally writing this after-hours without thinking about it too precisely so I've probably missed something/could be more accurate, but here's a general explanation:

**Stun: **
While Stunned you cannot move, cast abilities, use items, or basic attack. Will also interrupt Current movement/casts animations/channels. [Narbash Thunk - RMB]

**Root: **
Stops movement and movement based abilities from being cast. Will typically interupt anyone currently mid-movement via dashes etc. [Sevarog Subjugate - E]

**Immobalizing: **
Stuns, Suppression, Roots, Knockback, Knockups. I.e Stopping an enemy's movement. Pushes (such as Murdock) Buckshot are not Immobalizes - but they are Displacements.

**Suppression: **
A stun which is not affected by CC reduction (Tenacity) [Riktor Skewer - R]

Crowd Control (CC):
Any negative Status effect that is not a debuff. Stuns, Suppression, Roots, Knockbacks/ups/Pushes (displacement), Slows, Silences, Taunts, Fears, Charms, Polymorphs, Disarms, etc. In other words, Status effects (Crowd Control) affects the movement of a Hero or their ability to Cast Abilities or Basic Attacks.

Takedown:
Kills OR Assists.

a suppression can also be viewed as a Channeled stun.

Meaning if you hard cc or silence the person triggering the suppression, the suppression will be canceled

That's really weird. I've definitely canceled the ult by countess ulting him. @outer turret

Suppression is supposed to be stopped when the target causing the suppression is cc'd. This is the case for dota. LoL. Various RPGs. Is this a bug?

Riktor ult just isn't a channel - We don't currently treat it as a traditionally suppression. We just treat our current form of suppression as CC that cannot be affected by CCR

Interesting. I feel that's counter intuitive then. By cc'ing him you actually release him from his own lockout animation if hypothetically he had enough CCR
Like a crunch dash would actually be insanely advantageous for riktor

Either way it doesnt feel good to not have the skill expression to cancel it. The animation time it takes for the gas grenade to hit the ground is too slow to stop his ult in the first place, and after it lands it has no effect because he was able to cast it regardless.
