This build is for those who want to take Steel to the Offlane. While it may be anecdotal, this build has worked for me in every game, which I was able to dominate my lane against anyone. Quick shoutout to @near orbit for their post, giving me inspiration to work on this post.

Crest: Titan Crest is the way to go. It offers perfect flexibility against the enemy team composition. I will touch more on the evolution choice in a moment.

Abilities:

  • Personally, I pick Shield Bash(SB) level 1 then Bull Rush(BR) at level 2. These two you will max out immediately.

  • Unless you’re fighting a Ranged ADC in Offlane for whatever reason, DO NOT bother with Force Shield(FS). Since you’re going to be fighting for dominance in Offlane, Force Shield is truly useless.

  • Shield Slam*(SS) is always a priority as soon as you hit level 6 and any other time it pops up for upgrade.

Item Builds:
There are two ways you can go about this: Passive Damage or Active Damage. These are centered around the first two items you buy, since the other three items are always the same to complete your build.

Passive Damage will be the Fire Blossom into Tainted Totem route with the Nyr Warboots Evolution. This build is best suited against those who can self-sustain in lane such as Khaimera, Muriel(if they decide to do this), Rampage, and Sevarog. The reason is that it will be very difficult in the early stages to fight due to their toolkit. If this is the route you take, start off with Tunic. The extra +12 Physical Armor, imo, allows good defense to let you stay in lane a little longer. Afterwards, try to stay in lane long enough to get 1,200 Gold so that you can buy Brimstone. Once you have this item, fighting against the aforementioned heroes will be much easier as they won’t be able to stick around due to you ability to constantly stun them. One Auto Attack into SB>BR combo, all the while Brimstone is happening, almost always brings your opponent down to 50%, while you stay at full health, if they haven’t hit you in the beginning, of course. Once you have built up enough coin, finish it off Fire Blossom and, if the questline has been completed, evolve your Titan/Goliath Crest into Nyr Warboots. Nyr Warboots allow you to stay on top of your opponents while storing up 45% of any damage taken during fights. This crest can also be used defensively, as well, allowing you to have better chances of escaping, if necessary.

#

Next up on the build, we have Tainted Totem. Due to the fact that we are fighting against sel-sustaining opponents, Tainted Totem makes Fire Blossom that much stronger, not only reducing their healing, but also slowing their walk speed down, meaning there is very little chances of escape, unless they have use their flash or teleport move.

Active Damage will be the Dynamo into Flux Matrix route with the Razorback Evolution. This is more for the players that like to go on the offensive side against enemy heroes who have less ways to tank hits and need to fight back, such as Crunch, Feng Mao, Grux, and Kallari. If this is the route you take, start off with Tunic. The extra +12 Physical Armor, imo, allows good defense to let you stay in lane a little longer. Afterwards, try to stay in lane long enough to be able to buy both Steel Mail and Banded Emerald. These two items will help with fighting and staying in lane longer until you can finish up the evolution line. Dynamo is perfect for Steel because of the ability it has. Being able to deal extra damage whenever you stun your opponent is always a boon, allowing you to eliminate any threats faster and, if the questline has been completed, evolve your Titan/Goliath Crest into Razorback. Razorback is there to add insult to injury during your fights by reflecting all damage taken back to your opponent by 50% as true damage. Whether you play this crest offensively or defensively, your opponent will have to think twice if they are strong enough to fight.
Next up on the build will be Flux Matrix. This item goes together perfectly with Dynamo as you will be dealing an extra 15% damage with your abilities on top of what Dynamo is already allowing you to do.

#

World Breaker is the third item of choice. At this point in the game, fights will be happening more and more often. Since you will be frontline in most of them, already equipped with what you have, World Breaker will help you be an even greater threat thanks to both of its abilities to stack your magical damage. Very solid choice overall.

If the match isn’t over by now, then the last two items to build are Raiment of Renewal and Unbroken Will, in this order. These two items work hand in hand, due to their stats and passive abilities where you will be recovering all the damage you’ve taken in mere seconds. You cannot go wrong with this duo item build.

Thanks mate ❤️ I was looking for something like this. I hope you can do more offlane builds. That was very very good. I'll follow you from now on.

@proven coral

So, after looking into patch notes, it still works without too much trouble. Only the passive damage route took a slight hit, but even then it still plays out the same.

I would recommend maxing your rush and putting only 2 points in Shield Bash early on. Maxing Shield Bash 2nd is very selfish imo. The value in teamfights from your wall is insane if you max it out 2nd. It sucks if it has 1 point in it but the cooldown decreases massively and the slow increases massively if you put points in it. When midgame hits you want to have more points in the wall than in the shield slam imo.

The active build loses hard to crunch if he builds lifesteal first item
