I used it for about a year, but it got to be a pain in the ass to cleanly maintain it, and sometimes I wanted to just resort to using linux "the traditional way". also, everything from libraries to software are in the nix store, which isn't exactly posix compatible, so some software (not on the nix package manager) was just too stupid to run because it expected libraries in specific locations. but it's a great tool, and can be really helpful for building finnicky software (the it works on my machine problem)
