The set I sent in is a V2, but my prep was "record a set, check run time, add more to fill out run time, record in OBS"...
As for stems, I'm all for it. One of my favourite non D&B mixes is Ritchie Hawtin - DE9: Transitions from like 06 or 07. An entire 90 minute set made when Live had no real DAW functionality. I love the concept but also understand how much prep that takes... for me the Jury is still out on whether I consider it DJing per se, but I mad respect it.
I would consider my idea of a DJ is to be able to read a crowd and adapt to their needs.
Whatever floats your boat though, no judgements here and if the end result is awesome then does it matter.
