#Mastercomfig audio settings

you can adjust the sound using the sound module
I just uninstalled it, I couldn't get the one thing I wanted working and the sound being different fucked with me
I've installed it almost 3 times over now and I cant get the minigun's muzzle flash to be removed
Is that possible still?
If you have another mod for crosshairs or explosions it could be conflicting
the minigun's muzzle flash is hard coded
you can't disable it without everything about it being broken (missing particle x marks and tracers broken)
Ahh shit
thank you for the answer but maybe you should specify on "muzzle flash" that the minigun is excluded
that was the only reason I downloaded it and now outlines, audio and rockets are broken for me
I mean no offense by this but it would just save people time
what muzzle flash?
because it is excluded under the minigun
this here
as for anything else, mastercomfig is heavily customizable
but the flash on the minigun is hard coded and cant be disabled
but it's only the minigun is it not?
but if you go under heavy minigun then you can see that option isnt available
no theres a few
ah I see
ive heard a lot of feedback regarding the audio, its kinda hard to do it right
because people will prefer different things, and have different audio setups
that's fair, I just wasn't sure what was changing it
and the low/medium/high/ultra setup doesnt really work well, though technically correct
I was also thinking that when I looked
doesn't make sense
yeah
basically lower options like medium give you crisper sound
ultra gives you a lot of extra processing on the sound
I think it would be good to have an option in mastercomfig that is the same as at least some default tf2 configuration
for sound
afaik none of the mastecomfig presets are similar to tf2's default
im pretty sure medium and high are like that
exactly the same?
ever since 9.100 im pretty sure
oh I still use 9.10.2 or somrthing thats why I guess
haven't looked recently
but yeah I feel like that would solve a lot of the sound complaints
just having something that's the same as default
thats pretty much what happened but its still misleading to people
maybe they just don't know
also another thing is that headphones is weird
like they noticed that none of the presets were the same as default just like I did
and then never noticed it was changed now
the headphones setting in tf2 adds additional processing that people wont like
some people like it I think
and thats part of the problem
under outlines
!cmodules
read up on modules
some things will get saved in your config.cfg even after you get rid of mastercomfig
you can edit the modules after installing either by using the app again or manually editing modules.cfg
you can add outlines=ultra
to fully enable default outlines
nope
yeah you can add that
okay then do outlines=off
I had the outlines as just players on spawn before but now after installing comfig it has it show dropped weapons one's too
glow effects ingame turns them all off
how can I get it back to just players
thats controlled by your dxlevel
well, have you ever changed your dxlevel before?
no
if not, then i dont see how you could have disabled them before
I never had dropped weapons outlines ever
master comfig enabled them
only way to get them off is to disable all outlines via "glow effects" in advanced options
i know this sounds stupid, but you might have just not noticed them before
I take no offense dw but no there's no way
they're bright yellow
legit immediately noticed on first game with them on
they only appear on weapons you can equip, and if you have line of sight
theres no way to turn them off individually in tf2
for the player outlines did you have just the health bar and name or was it full glow outlines of the models?
glow outline
Im trying to check rn
still on
and you're saying there's no way to keep player outlines on while turning off the weapon outlines again?
yes, there's no code for it in TF2
Ill just turn them off, Im impartial to it anyway, but I knew it wasn't like that before
I have had the same config for like a decade now tho tbf
i actually added a setting for it in #team-comtress-2 maybe i can submit a fix to valve for it soon
*I have had the same
config for like a decade
now tho tbf*
awesome, you've been more than helpful
saving me time with letting me know ab the minigun muzzle flash
