also i posted this in the wrong channel a few hours ago and only noticed it should go in here
anyway for some reason the config doesnt change while stuff like the explosion effect changed when i saved it
for example
im also dropping them in the correct path
also heres the vpk just in case
could you please .zip up and send your cfg and custom folders?
hmm, the only thing i'm seeing is that you have exec autoexec set in all of your class configs, which would re-execute mastercomfig every time you swapped a class, so might be best to remove that
although that's probably separate from your issue
which modules aren't working?

shadows and outlines are the main ones i remember
shadows are meant to be off and outlines are supposed to be on high
could you put outlines_level;shadows_level in console and see what it says?

if you put shadows_off;outlines_high in a game that you've already joined, does that set the modules properly?

hmm, let's see if manually setting them works, could you please paste this into console while you're in a game and see if the shadows/outlines work?

what're you looking for after you set the settings?
like the default tf2 crosshairs that changes per-weapon, or something like a white cross that you set in tf2?

no, that's the baked-in map lighting

ok im very much mistaken and that is not a thing that exists
but i know that my shadows used to look different and less blocky

hmm, that might be a remnant of dx8 but i'm not entirely sure
typically enabling mat_phong (which is a part of lighting_ex=high) clears it up
