LOD distance is unfortunately set on a per asset basis, there's essentially nothing you can do about it
decrease r_rootlod
I mean that could be an issue too
that would be the LOD module
for textures, texture filtering can help hide the transition between 2 different texture LODs (although I don't see that issue present here), but for models each LOD has a set distance at which it gets shown, although that distance is kind of weirdly calculated and is based on resolution and FOV

but even so, I don't really see any issues in this image that you can actually control
tf2's LOD distances are criminally low because it was made for 2007 hardware
thats why you walk 10 feet away from a medic and his coat suddenly stiffens up in a weird position
it's not supposed to fucking look like that
it just looks like tf2 to me
low texture quality and no AA sure, but it looks like tf2
lod distance is also set relative to screen resolution, if ur playing at low res the LODs get even worse

that the transition distance depends on screen size
