I have just gotten back into TF2 and heard about Mastercomfig. I installed the low preset with custom modules, but the modules are just not working. I hate having my weapon view models such low quality and in my cfg override folder with modules.cfg it says my lod=ultra (along with other things I changed) and it doesn't work at all. I have been re-installing/re-launching and now I have just given up. I would really love for the modules to load and I have followed all the steps on this: https://docs.comfig.app/latest/customization/modules/#module-level-aliases to no avail. Help would be greatly appreciated!

could you please .zip up and send your cfg and custom folder, alongside sharing your launch options?
here are my launch options : -novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -nohltv -particles 1 -precachefontchars -w 1728 -h 108
I dont know how you would like me to send my cfg and custom folders though
you can send them in this chat if you'd like
if you're unable to due to size constraints, then you can put it on a third-party like mediafire
oh, i think i might see the issue
okay there we go, those are all of them
your modules file is named modules.cfg.cfg
at the top of file explorer, could you go into the "View" tab and then check the box that says "Enable file extensions"?
and then remove the extra .cfg at the end of the modules file
well that was dumb thank you for that, and im not seeing the enable file etensions
oh nvm I checked off the box
it is just called modules now
is there anything else to do?
there we go!
the modules seem to be set correctly, the file is named correctly, so as long as mastercomfig's working and the modules.cfg file is in the cfg/overrides folder, then it should be good
I belive it should be working
but my weapon view model with a war paint still looks blurry is there a way to change that while keeping the looks of the map?
unfortunately, the war paint textures are controlled by the same command that controls the rest of the game's textures
so if you're wanting the war paint to be at a higher quality but the rest of the game at a lower quality, then the rest of the game's textures will be higher as well
you can bump it up with the textures module https://docs.comfig.app/latest/customization/modules/#texture-quality
oh gotcha
@cunning storm has leveled up! (1 ➜ 2)
huh I plugged in textures=ultra and it still looks the same
does putting textures_ultra in console change anything?
says its an unknown command
could you screenshot your custom folder?
looks like you could be using a different tf2 install than what tf2's actually using
could you go into steam -> library -> right click on tf2 -> properties -> installed files -> browse
then see if everything in the custom folder matches what's in the one you screenshotted
yes its all the same
