Also the game screen freeze while playing and the only solution is to close it. It doesn't occur regularly but I wonder if that's fixable or has something to do with the hud

put the settings that you need to change on launch in your autoexec (located inside your "overrides" folder) and relaunch the game making sure it no longer requires you to make the changes manually

Is your pc that bad to run very low? Generally it’s not recommended since it may cause a lot of bugs, I’m no expert but maybe try using low instead of very low see if that does anything
Make sure to use a command to reset the very low mcoms settings as they may carry over

not really, i just play on low for performance and low ping

it's different and your custom folder contains the 'very low' preset
try deleting the 'very low' presets from your 'custom' folder
and then do the command
and install 'low' preset
put it in your custom folder
launch game and see if that changed anything

that might be the reaosn why your settings don't change
as i said, the 'very low' preset turns off many many things and might be the reason why it overrides the chagnes you are doing
change the presets and try to see if the settings you set stay or not
