Hi there, I am currently running mastercomfig medium-low preset and morehud 7 on Windows 11, and I have been experiencing frequent crashes on tf2 (that get more frequent the longer my pc has been on). Looking at Windows event log, apparently it has something to do with this library:
dxilconv.dll
which is related to DirectX. The kind of error is listed as "Access violation error".

Although this PC is very new, I wasn't having issues with TF2 until I added mastercomfig + this HUD, and due to the nature of the error, I would assume this has something to do with mastercomfig.

Would anyone happen to know what is causing this, and more importantly, how to fix it?
Thanks!

Have you tried removing all mods?

#

Including mastercomfig and your hud

I just don't know enough about HUDs to know if or how it is accessing a DirectX library

I mean it's either a tf2 bug (unlikely since nobody else really has this) or a problem with something else on your comtpuer

#

What hud mod is it?

stiff aspen
#

morehud 7

What gpu are you using?

yea sorry

intel i9

13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900H 2.60 GHz

Yeah I would look into other things on your computer

#

If it actually is caused by mastercomfig or by m0rehud, it would be a tf2 bug (or intel / windows), and lots of people play tf2 on those intel gpus and to my knowledge nobody has really reported a widespread bug like this anywhere

stiff aspen
#

yeah, I've looked to no avail

#

online for the same issue

#

I mean

#

so I would assume it's something weird with my system, but this is a fresh install of windows 11 (I got this PC Wednedsay last week)

#

I mean lots of manufacturers load their original windows installs with all sorts of crap

#

but who knows

I did go through and disable a lot of it

#

thanks for your help btw

One thing you could check is to make sure your intel graphics driver is up to date

#

Or if you just updated it to a version released recently, you could try an older version

#

It's also worth looking in the event logs for other errors, if you have a lot of other access violations or similar memory errors or crashes and it's not just this isolated case in dxilconv.dll, it could indicate a problem with overall system stability
