#Issue with extracting masterconfig
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Read the instructions again. It says to extract it to your Team Fortress 2 folder
how do i extract it?
I mean you kinda did when you dragged that tf folder out
You just dragged it to the wrong place
Yeah
hold up lemme try
aight it did it but where can i find my autoexec file?
when i go to cfg folder its no where to be seen
neither are my custom binds for classes
they should be in the overrides folder in cfg
this is the only other folder in cfg
is mastercomfig present in the custom folder?
i appreciate you helping me so much
or well in this case it's the app folder, but that still isn't there which is strange
so something seems to have went wrong when it was extracted
yeah 😦
how would i fix that
you can just drag the app folder out of the .zip file into the cfg folder
not sure why it didn't extract properly though
can i add my own stuff in to auto exec like this cl_cmdrate 66; cl_updaterate 66; cl_interp_ratio 1; cl_interp 0.0151515; rate 66000 or is that or already in masterconfig i was told to fix lerp
that stuff is handled by mastercomfig, but you can change that via modules: https://docs.comfig.app/latest/customization/modules/
which modules can be changed in the modules.cfg file which should go in overrides
you'd create the overrides folder and then create the modules.cfg file
change app folder name to overrides and then copy lets say autoexec and change the name to modules.cfg?
don't change the app folder name, you'd create a new folder
inside cfg
oh
yeah sorry, they're two separate folders that exist side-by-side
leave everything thats in app folder in app folder and make a new one called overrides
should autoexec be renamed to modules or modules.cfg
the purpose of the app folder is to store the changes you make on the app, and then the overrides folder exists to store your own custom config files without the files conflicting
if there's no .cfg at the end of autoexec already, then just name it to modules
alright
what should i put into modules cause that link you sent is very long maybe you have a preset you use?
to fix the lerp thing
the cmdrate/updaterate commands are handled by the packet_rate module, but you don't need to change it since it's set to 66 by default
i wouldn't advise changing the lerp to 15.2 for all classes as that can cause hitreg issues for hitscan
mastercomfig should handle setting the proper lerp for each class
so just leave it blank?
yeah
dam
and you can keep the file for any changes you want to make later
*and you can keep the
file for any changes you
want to make later*
aight let me hop into a game and i will let you know if everything works 🙂
yoo lets go
thank you so much
do i need to close this thread
?
yeah you can close it
