#New mastercomfig fig post 64 bit
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
can you show a comparison in timedemo
and share specs
I get 360 average fps with comfig
And 408 with an older version of comfig, probably like a mid 2023 one
I7 12700kf and GTX 3060
.
thanks, and can you share what preset your use, and your modules.cfg? @leaden shell
experiencing the same thing too. 64 bit update came out and I was hovering around 200 fps on a busy 32 player server with the old comfig, updated it to a newer one and it's around 120 now
could you share specs, preset, modules.cfg?
RTX 2070 Super / Ryzen 5 5600x / 16GB Memory (8x2)
medium-high preset
shadows=off
water=medium_high
particles=low
post_processing=off
pyrovision=low
texture_filter=aniso16x
characters=medium_high
decals=off
gibs=medium
3dsky=on
fpscap=unlimited
hud_contracts=hide
killstreaks=off
outlines=high
sourcetv=off
bandwidth=6.0Mbps
ragdolls=high
could you try hud_player_model=off
well it didnt really do much but I saw that there's a newer version of comfig, updated to that one and the fps seems to be back to normal for now(?)
@clever glen has leveled up! (1 ➜ 2)
which newer version?
9.10.3
i used medium low for both, and i dont think i used modules for both
ah, because 9.10.3 is the only recent release
the release before that was july 10 2023
so if you say you updated to a newer one and then again a newer one, then i guess i misunderstood
okay, interesting
which demo benchmark did you use to measure it?
and are you on linux or windows
windows
could you try putting this into console and seeing if it helps:
fast_fogvolume 1
if that doesn't work, also try:
r_fastzreject 0
i used this, someone sent this into a thread i opened up like some weeks ago
if that doesn't work, also try:
r_occludeemaxarea 1;r_occluderminarea 1
using the old comfig or the newest one?
newest
if you don't mind
of course, you dont have to do all this testing if you dont want to
it'll just help me release a new version which improves performance even more
can i ask what those things do
r_fastzreject 1
r_occludeemaxarea 0;r_occluderminarea 0
sure
these commands are mostly related to how Source calculates what's visible on your screen
so it doesn't have to actually calculate stuff that isn't shown
*so it doesn't have
to actually calculate
stuff that isn't shown*
i adjusted these values in the latest release to attempt to improve performance, but the older values may be more stable on some systems, so ill lean towards that instead of getting the minor performance increase for some people
ohhh, I mistook 9.10.2 for a modern release because I saw a notif from this discord about a new comfig and I thought it was that one. I think I downloaded it before the actual new comfig was out lol
