#problem with mouse cutting up or wtv u call it
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
it never used to happen before
but suddenly these past weeks this has been happening
could you record this with net_graph 4 enabled?
i cant record anything
but it goes from
190 for example
to 110
to 90
this is kind of a way i could explain it
everything becomes
REALLY choppy
almost as if every 2nd frame is on 0.5x speed
and specifically only on scrims/officials is when it goes choppy?
yeah
on casual i can play for hours
and nothing like that pops up
its so strange
is it possible that you could get in a mumble call or something to kinda mimic what it'd be like?
see if it becomes choppy then
i cant record anything tho
but mumble is really
really light
i dont see how mumble could cause this
well we gotta narrow down the troubleshooting scope
see what may be causing this
a recording would be better ofc but you don't have to
idk i legit cant record anything
i dont have a recording software
nor a clipping software
would completely mess up my performance
do you know what your GPU is?
hm yeah not great
yep
recording's still feasable but again that's up to you
and not like recording a whole match, just a little snippet of gameplay while it's choppy
but again, up to you
for now see if you can do this
unfortunately not sure if that'll be adequate enough
fuck
i legit cant record anything
especially in a game too
i legit am not sure what could be causing this
on casual its fine
i played like
a hour of casual
and it was perfectly fine
and then i join a pug or a scrima
and my game shits itself
and so, step 1 is to mimic the conditions while you're in a pug etc
launching any voice chat applications/getting in a call etc would be step 1
see if it lags then
if not, later when you join another pug/scrim server, if possible keep everything closed and see if you can swap back-and-forth between the pug/scrim server and to a different community server or something
when you're ready to go into a pug etc, swap back and forth between the pug server and a regular community server
i cant ill get a ban
that's dumb
but i know for a fact its either the program
or the
servers
i dont think my config could be apart of the problem
i mean it's either server plugins or whatever voice application you're using
as you said
unless you're changing tf2 settings whenever you go into a comp server, it's likely not your config
na i dont touch my game
ok so for now, is it possible that you could open up mumble and go into a vc or something and then hop onto casual or a community server
see if mumble's causing it
i'm assuming you've been in a call in discord while playing in casual or a community server, right?
if that's true and it didn't lag then i'm inclined to say it's the servers
i mean the comp servers have a variety of plugins and settings set
i couldn't tell you any specifics since i don't set up/mess with tf2 servers
when you're on the comp servers, does your whole game lag or is it just your mouse stuttering
does it happen at all points in the game or is it primarily during the pregame etc
????
LIKE
my messages just got deleted by the bot
anyways, at the start of the round
its fine
i get to mid and then my game starts to die
for the rest of the game
is it like that in all game modes, i.e. payload?
yeah
@storm glacier
kk
Yeah cause it's not like anything else is currently ruining your gameplay...
You should probably monitor your thermals
Im on a laptop too
Yeah definitely check your thermals
Okay so I found out today
It happens only on 6s
I played a couple HL tf2 center games and a scrim today and I was fine
Do you have the same programs open between the two? (Mumble or w/e)
I have Hardware acceleration on for some reason
Isn't that meant to be off
I played on a old cfg of mine too today
Seemed to be alright
for better performance, it's better for it to be off
Explain pls
@alpine folio Pls answer this
Na I always end up closing DC before my match starts if I have to use mumble
What are you using?
hardware acceleration within apps would use up more resources or offload usage to certain hardware to help that specific app run smoother
so, if you're wanting maximum performance within games etc then you'd want those hardware acceleration settings disabled
although now that i think about it, might be too broad of an idea since it'll really be dependent on what app it is and what it does
and i also just realized that they could've been talking about windows hardware accel or something that would actually be beneficial to set, i assumed that they were talking about hw accel within mumble or discord
hardware acceleration was set on within mumble, or..
Hardware would be referring to the GPU, so for TF2 it would make more sense to turn it on, wouldn't it?
depends if you've got a 1060 running a 1440p monitor and getting 98% gpu usage while playing tf2 xd
at least in discord's case i think that would just mean more overall usage though
i don't think it lessens the amount of resource usage you'd be using in total, just adding more strain
