#Painted Items Textures look bad from afar

Screenshot/send your modules.cfg
try setting the anti_aliasing=msaa_8x and texture_filtering=aniso16x modules
the anti_aliasing module'll probably do it
that didn't do it
I'm seriously willing to pay whoever finds a solution that's how desperate I am lol
Launch the game, from the main menu do this in console:
preset_ultra;run_modules
Join a game and see if it's still doing it. If it is, there's likely nothing you can do.
after doing that, will I have to do anything to revert it to the medium high preset ?
it didn't fix it, only made it slightly less jarring for some reason, the grey outlines were a little smaller but still there
oh well
thanks for the help anyway i appreciate
No, it'll reset next launch.
@ocean bolt are you using dx8?
no, also tried manually running under dx95 and the issue persisted
@ocean bolt has leveled up! (2 ➜ 3)
ooc how did you swap your dx version
are you using an nvidia gpu?
YES
caps
you think changing the program specific options might help ?
right now it's all set to high performance, so this might be it
these are the tf2 specific settings in my nvidia control pannel
yeah try setting everything within tf2 and globally to default
via the default button on the top right
make sure as much as possible's set to application-controlled
also, what are you launch options?
-novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -nohltv -particles 1 -precachefontchars -noquicktime -freq 240 -no_texture_stream
ill try to mess around with the nvidia settings, if that don't fix it then welp
ensure stuff like anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering's set to either application controlled or forced to the max
preferably application-controlled
and then after you're done resetting the settings to default/application-controlled then launch tf2 and see how it is
if it's still bad, then try grabbing the ultra preset and temporarily renaming your overrides folder to something like overrides1 to disable it and ensure that no custom settings are screwing things up
alright i'm noting all of this and trying it out as soon as i find some time, thanks a ton
also might be good to temporarily clear out your custom folder and leave only mastercomfig
good chance that clearing out your custom folder won't do anything but you can do it if you want to ensure nothing you've added is causing issues
and then if it works you can add your stuff back and rename overrides1 (or whatever you renamed it to) back to overrides
if that's good, then you can remove the ultra preset and set it back to what it was before
if it's not good after lowering your preset to what you were originally using, then ensure these modules are set
update : it was the nvidia control pannel screwing things up
makes sense
