guys, i hope you can also see the difference between these two imagems, but at the first one you can see the image at the front is a little blury, and the second one i took a few steps ahead and the quality went up. I really want to know which console command changes this because this setting also makes a very annoying horizontal line at the floor when im walking, which separates the "max render distance" of textures or light or something similar, i only used this map as an example to easily see affected setting here
#which command that sets the render distance of textures im guessing?

you can't change the actual distance, but if you use change the texture filtering setting (if you're using mastercomfig it has its own module, if you aren't using a performance config its just an ingame setting) it will basically fix this issue
its such a light effect in terms of performance that you should be able to just set it up to the maximum of 16x anisotropic filtering with no performance difference at all on modern hardware
you can see it more clearly the line here, it also occurs on walls, not just floors, it seems like a circle around my character
you can see it here too
im not sure if its related to texture, light, shadow or lod distance, i really want to fix it since its the only thing bothering me
I mean i gave you the fix
use texture filtering
if you're using mastercomfig it will be the texture_filter module
https://docs.mastercomfig.com/page/customization/modules/#texture-filtering
if you aren't using mastercomfig you should be able to just change it in the ingame video settings menu
i changed the values of all my texture commands on autoexec to 1, and upped antialiasing and filtering mode to x4 x8 - it worked.
you won't need to change anything aside from texture filtering to fix this issue if you don't want to
i don't think at least
also, you should be able to set it to 16x, the performance difference is so minor it might as well not exist
its like sub 1fps difference between bilinear and 16 on most hardware
after your help, i tried to change only the settings, but the error persisted, so i went to my cfg and tried only to change the commands, it didnt work. Then i tried both simutaneously, it worked. At this point i don't even mind anymore knowing which one direct impact this problem, i'm just glad you helped me fix it, thanks!
call me crazy but the difference is actually huge
the fact the floor and the walls aren't just warping like crazy anymore, perfect.
well, thats why the setting exists!
To me that still looks bad 😛
