#Similar performance FPS across all comfig presets?

I'm currently running comfig low but with a few tweaks to make the game look good (high LOD, x4 Anti-Aliasing, HQ lighting and textures, no shadows) but have tried the opposite (low LOD, keep x4 AA, low texture and lighting quality and no shadows) and get almost the same if not slightly worse FPS going to a worse looking game. Specs include a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32 GB RAM and a RX 5700XT getting about 220+ fps with the mentioned higher settings.

(the opengl addon isn't necessary to have since you're on windows)

Yes that's right good catch, didn't realize I opted for that when I downloaded it since getting new drives recently

are you just looking at an fps counter when you're saying 220+ fps?

using net_graph to track fps

You'd need to do a proper benchmark as fps in TF2 is all over the place

yeah, looking at an fps counter to compare between presets with your hardware is difficult to tell objectively which one is better

I could just be tripping, but I moved up from a Ryzen 7 3700X and 16 to 32 GB of ram and fresh installed onto a much faster SSD recently so it could just be a result of that + using mastercomfig

yep that's tf2 for you

you could be getting 400 fps, look at a single player and then watch it drop down to 200
