tf? Why even use mastercomfig if you're just gonna use another config on top of it?
No shit. You're comparing against the high preset.
Can you go in game and do mat_specular in console to actually check what it's set to?
Is mat_dxlevel resetting it maybe?
Setting dxlevel resets some things.
At least the launch option does. Not sure about the command.
Just remove the mat_dxlevel line
And fix your mat_queue_mode.
Just delete both those lines so comfig handles them.
What I'd really recommend is just using comfig low instead of your mishmash because this is just really complicating troubleshooting.

Is it the textures you don't like in low? You've got your models turned down low via b4nny's config.
Which is why I was asking about the textures because yours isn't changing those from comfig's high.
There are lighting modules for tweaking that in comfig.
I'd call running 2 configs broke.
