For a long time my ping has been fluctuating between 22 and 37, maybe for someone it does not mean anything, but for me it is a very noticeable difference, for a long time my ping was constant, i.e. 22, but since a few months it has been fluctuating, on an empty server I have 22 ping, but when even one player enters it suddenly rises to 37. I realize that this may be the fault of my provider, but it is always worth trying other solutions.
Here are my internet settings for tf2 and windows settings (my net is fiber 700 up and down)
Settings for ethernet network card only receive side scaling, ipv4 checksum offload and rss queues are enabled the rest off or set for best performance

22 and 37 isn't a noticeable difference
gameplay-wise that is
unless the fluctuation is going all over the place and eventually landing on 37
i'm inclined to say that it's something local although i could be wrong
could you take three speedtests from https://speed.cloudflare.com/ and screenshot the results (don't forget to hide your ip etc)
have you utilized the TCPOptimizer tool? may be helpful here in case it's a wonky setting causing issues
Yes, i set everything for best performence
okay, so yeah there is definitely an issue with your internet--absurdly high latency times when uploading/downloading which aligns with your ping issue
whether or not it's your system or your isp is another question though
given that you've utilized TCPOptimizer i'm somewhat inclined to say it's not some windows settings
do you mind sending the settings that were set with TCPOptimizer?
and do you remember if this issue occurred before you used TCPOptimizer?
When I formatted windows and set everything from scratch including the settings you can see on the tcp optimizer, I would say that the ping grew overnight and in addition at first it was 60ms although in the game it felt like 100 after some time only decreased to 37 the only thing I remember that could cause this is part of the upgrade of windows 10 to version 22h2
I played with these settings long before the problem appeared
1500 mtu with no packet loss
i see. are you sure you haven't changed anything since you first applied these settings?
you could run TCPOptimizer again just to make sure that windows hasn't set any improper settings
if running TCPOptimizer again doesn't fix it, then i'm inclined to say that your ISP (or more likely your modem if you have one) is having some issues or perhaps your network card is causing issues
I've done this several times and still no change
I contacted support but they only said they don't see a problem from them everything works fine
Well, it seems to me that I can not be helped maybe in the near future something will change
do you have a modem?
Router zteF680
is your internet plugged directly into your router or does it go into a box that you get from your ISP (modem) and then your router
Directly into router
hmm, is it possible that you could plug it directly into your computer as a test?
I don't quite understand what you mean, currently the router is connected to the computer via ethernet cable
like instead of the internet plugging into your router and then your computer, could you plug it in directly to your computer?
bypassing the router so we could test to see if the router is at fault
minor elaboration: if you have a modem, the lines coming from your ISP would go into a router-sized box in your house which would then plug into your router
just trying to minimize any misunderstandings xd
hmm, is there any way that you could swap out your router for a different one?
Also not
I think this fault from my ISP but im really glad that u try to help me
A do test now and the result is diffrent
Donwload latency is still high but other things look good
looks about the same as before?
oh wait nvm it is less, except for the upload latency
yeah it's one of three things from what i can tell:
- ISP's at fault (somewhat likely)
- your router's at fault (most likely)
- your network card's at fault (least likely)
I updated the network card and also no effect, I don't know about the router but the softwere is well set up
i meant the physical device in the second and third cases but updating it etc is good
Well I think we've gone through everything that could help thank you for your help we'll see in the future if anything changes
