I guess then enabled wayland during compilation and now the game doesn't start on linux wayland
Forcing SDL_VIDEO_DRIVER=x11 fixes the issue
and per usual the issue propagates itself to dota linux too
Why does Valve keep fucking up their SDL builds. I mean I get you are updating your SDL3 libraries but seriously atleast test your changes in a fresh install before shipping them right?

We were doing 10 to 0 and then the other team came back 10 to 10. Everyone was absolutely tilted to oblivion and I was able bring them back for 3 rounds by responding to a very rude question in buy-time by turning around and twerking
everyone busted out laughing and we closed 13-10
in conclusion: removing twerking effectively lowered the game's skill ceiling
i find it funny that they decided to add overtime as a solution to "endgame" being ruled out by one round

this actually surprised me: They went from a system based on a mix of individual performance and team performance to one where it's simply win or lose
like, you can AFK the entire match and you will win/lose the same amount of elo as if you carried
interested to see how this is gonna play out. So far most matches have been surprisingly balanced
they got some mechanisms present that detect inactive players and such behavior
the weird thing is that from what I can see, Glicko-2 doesn't even take into account teammates, although it does take into account multiple enemies
so like: did they modify glicko-2 to make teammates a thing, or do teammate ratings actually dont influence your rating change for win/lose?

I was able to reproduce the jump problem by finding a slope that is only sometimes jumpable and sometimes not
so it's not just a clientside thing with cl_showpos being wrong
setpos 1590.968750 -1100.68 -351.970245;setang 0 0 0 this place on nuke is only jumpable sometimes. Run straight forwards until you bump the wall and then jump
my current theory is that since they want to subtick movement inputs, they need to calculate how much you moved for the remaining fraction of the tick you pressed jump on separately before letting the physics engine do the rest on a tick by tick basis.
I really don't know how they will ever be able to solve this, if that's the case
because it would be a question of the ticks landing at different points in the trajectory, even though the trajectory is the same. So since the game only works on discrete time intervals, you can't really make the "discrete apex" a consistent number

Assuming equal input latency, that just means you start moving slightly faster (since most keyboards' actuation points are at or near bottoming out)
most of the time its functionally the same, but any situation where you would have to tap a direction to go slightly that way or slowly that speed (or in cs, pressing shift) you can just use analog movement more comfortably and quickly
